Whatever. Tonight was a joke.
Win the next two.
Eagles opened as -3.5 or -4 depending on where you look.
Maybe they'll actually tackle people?
Unlikely.
well they'll probably win 37-7 and then lose to the Giants on a 64yd FG

Kiko Alonso is somehow the worst defensive player on a team that is running out Ed Reynolds and Jaylen Watkins (though Maxwell gave him some competition for that award tonight).
Alonso is awful
Invisible. Over running plays. Getting pushed back.
But hey - sweet smedium jersey bro
Maybe if Lurie tells the team to play angry again, Josh Huff and Kiko Alonso will become talented.

All the teams in the NFC East stink, and they all stink about equally. That's why they all have at least two losses to other NFC East teams. None of these teams have done anything remotely impressive during the season. The closest thing would be the Eagles knocking off the Patriots, which we all recognize as a fluke.
I give any NFC East team 50% odds of beating another. This gives the Eagles a 25% chance of winning out and another 8% or so chance to back into the playoffs. So 1/3 chance.
Nothing about admitting that the Eagles suck requires us to pretend that Washington is anything other than a really bad team also. Basically if the Eagles had played the Rams and Washington played the Cardinals, they would be in the exact opposite scenario entering Saturday's game.
But Washington is soooooooo much more talented!
Dallas wouldve ran away with this division if not for their injuries.
And their Jerruh.

Briskly walked away, at least.
Pretty much the tallest midget in the room type deal.
I've been less convinced of that as the season has gone on. The Cowboys have regressed in some ways unrelated to their injuries. Romo's QB rating on the season is less than Mark Sanchez's (he threw more picks than TDs). Other teams with garbage QBs and other serious injuries have winning records in the AFC. The Cowboys are better than their record and lost a lot of close games (they are a very badly coached team too), but I think the narrative that they were an NFC contender stricken by bad luck is fictional. They have four wins, all against putrid teams. At some point you have to admit you are what you are.
Nobody is calling them elite, but to say they wouldn't have easily won "this" division without the injuries is mistaken IMO.
They lost close games while Weeden and cassel were the qbs and a few without dez. No way they lose 7 straight with a healthy Romo. Bad rating or not they were 3-1 with him. B
Ok, enough defending that shtein team, I feel dirty, i need a shower.
If I had to say one team in the division is very slightly better than the rest, I'd go with the Giants. They have lost multiple games due to Tom Coughlin. And I don't mean he lost them in terms of scheme or preparation or even overall playcalling -- those things clearly exist but are difficult to measure. I mean games where he literally made a baffling Alzheimer's level decision in the last two minutes of the game that directly resulted in the loss.

eagles giving up a 90 spot to detroit and tampa in back to back weeks was pretty god damn impressive
also agree a healthy dallas wins 10 or more in this division
So the Eagles are wearing black tonight? Appropriate attire for a funeral.
All I want for Christmas is an Eagles win.

I'll probably miss the first part of the game because of a family dinner at one of IGYs least favorite MA chain restaurants (http://www.crackerbarrel.com/). To be honest, it's my least favorite restaurant: mediocre food, little room to move, and loud as hell. I get zero say, though.

How can this be permitted to continue? How has Billy Davis not been fired? The worst part of watching these farging losers is they've got the ability to compete with any team. They just absolutely insist on blowing up themselves with turnovers, penalties, sacks, boneheaded calls, retarded mismanagement of the clock... you name it.
Then the defense comes on and ole's the offense down the field without so much as an "excuse me."
I literally can't watch this anymore. It's enraging.

Reminds me of last week. Eagles are hanging in there points-wise, but everything looks prepped for their icehole to be torn wide open in the second half.

I wouldn't be surprised one bit if Kelly gets fired. Lurie had talked about a mistake he made with Reid was keeping him around too long, and no matter what Lurie doesn't want Kelly as gm. Lurie could also try to just take away the GM role and cut CK no sack in hopes he walks away and Jeff saves the money he would have owed firing Kelly.

The probability that all of those issues are addressed, and addressed with guys that are long-term solutions is highly unlikely. Just based on the boom/bust risk of any personnel move. When you have as many needs as the Eagles do, it is extremely unlikely that all are adequately addressed in one offseason. Realistically, this team is probably 2-3 years away from making the playoffs again, and longer before they become a legit Superbowl contender.

Just jumping in to say that this Eagles team is one of the least entertaining and least likable teams that I can remember. The list of things I like about it pretty much starts and ends with Fletcher Cox. Actually, I think that the NFL in general has seemed like a dumpster fire this year.
Wholeheartedly agree.
List of players I like:
Cox
Barwin
Jenkins
Logan
Peters
Sproles
second tier - Guys I like well enough....okay if they stay, not too worried if they don't
Braman (so long as all he ever does is ST)
Graham (begrudginly...he's a good football player afterall)
Thurmond
Celek
Mathews
Kelce
Ryans
Curry
Lane
Hicks
Dorenbos
Parkey
everyone else I could care less

List of players I like:
Cox - absolute monster who will be playing for Washington in two years
Barwin - garbage
Jenkins - average
Logan - bleh
Peters - done
Sproles - toast
I'm not reading this entire thread, but of all of the slop that went on last night, there are really only 3 things I don't understand.
1. Why the farg would you run a toss on your own 20 yard line? Especially when it's a little wet out. That was literally begging for a turnover.
2. Wtf was up with the pooch kick on the on sides attempt? I honestly don't think I've ever seen that attempted before. Hopefully I never see it again.
3. I really don't get the play calling on their final possession. I get that they don't have anyone to stretch the field, but you definitely gotta take a shot and at least try to draw a cheap flag. And the 5 yard completions in the middle were just retarded. They needed to score with more than 2min left to even have a shot at forcing a 3 and out, and I don't even think they took a shot at the end zone when they were getting close. Retarded/chicken shtein play calling imo.
Also, is there somewhere you can look up the types of penalties each team has called against them? I feel like the Eagles would be leading the league in illegal formation penalties this year. In fact, this has kind of been a thing ever since Chip showed up.

I could be wrong, but I'm like 99% positive they've had more than 3 called against them this year. It's possible that maybe some were declined, and aren't included, but I feel like this has been a recurring thing with this team.

I turned it off before that point, but did it look anything like the 20 yd onside drop kick Belichick tried against the Eagles a few weeks ago?
Probably. I really don't remember much from that game. I didn't even know that happened. I got kind of loaded for that one.
According to that site, five have been called.

It was an absolutely horrendous call. Raining and once again they send Murray wide on that pitch. That was the strangest call I've seen in awhile. Hoping it's the last time we see Murray carry a ball as a bird.

Unfortunately that requires finding another team willing to pay him $7 million a year or whatever his salary is. In a league that has pretty much figured out that running backs don't matter. Cutting him would be a total cap killer that would make it difficult to do things like signing a QB, getting OL or WR talent, or resigning Fletcher Cox.
how about chip changes his dumb ass delay shotgun stretch handoffs and design more down hill shtein
that's what a genius would do

Denver seems to always be looking for running backs. Nothing worked for them this year as they played musical chairs with Anderson, Hillman, and Juwan Thompson.
Looking at the RB UFA market, I don't think anyone in their right mind would trade for Murray at his current salary.
The Bills aren't going to fall for that trick twice.
