OUTRIGHT
yeah this is totally an eagles spot. carolina is coming home after a huge road win and the eagles coming in after a win where everybody says they suck. it's prime for the eagles to come in and jump on them. the only factor going against the eagles is revenge factor from destroying them last year.

People said the same thing about the Giants last night because they were shutout, defense was actually more dominate last night then it was the night they held them to 0

and a short week and they lost at washington
jordan matthews - 36 rec, 384 yds
carolina's top 3 wr - 38 rec, 525 yds
I expect at least one of those stats to go up this week.
combined record of teams carolina has beat this year 9-20
if carolina was green bay or chicago or some franchise people cared about that isnt 10 seconds old, you idiots wouldnt be as confident
They're as mediocre as it gets. It's not confidence in the Eagles because they're just as mediocre. Someone's gotta win. Might as well be the Birds.
might as well be the qb who throws 100 interceptions a game

I think he's had a few nullified by penalty.
The NFL has no clue what a catch is, how can you expect them to identify a drop?
Statistics are weird. Josh Huff is #5 in completion rate among WRs with 10+ targets.

i bet chipper has sanchez running with the scout team this week...simulating cam's running ability.
Nah - gotta keep Sanchize healthy.

i have the same feeling for this game as i did for Atlanta.....i think carolina gets out to a better start eagles keep it close but cant quite close...on the surface agholor and kkk are horrible but the fact that one is out and the other is limited makes an already terrible wr corps even worse...i don't know how the eagles score tonight...this would be a nice time for zach ertz to get his head out his ass and have a big game and if the eagles win it will be because ertz outplays greg olsen...
ultimately i see cam making just enough plays to win
23-16 panthers
fyi cause you care im 5-1 this year picking birds games with dallas being the loss

Look at these clownshoes teams.
He was down
What?!?!? That's a turnover!!
He's down.
hell of a play by carroll
That's not going to stand
Hmmmmmm please hold up under review
That has to be Eagles ball. He has to maintain possession, if that ball hits the ground they call it incomplete.
No way that stands.
interception not fumble...that's the key here
eagle ball
Catch, down by contact. 1st and goal. 14-0. Giants in sole possesion of first place. Eagles loser, as always. farg.
If that ball falls off of Carrol and hits the ground and the Eagles jump on the ball, that's called an incomplete pass because he didn't maintain control going to the ground. Will be bullshtein if that's not called an INT.
He didn't maintain possession to the ground. Should be incomplete = interception because caught in air.
And let's give slinging Sammy B an assist for that zesty behind his receiver pass
Hopefully this stands

if you put air under that throw then its out of the end zone....if ertz is running at mid field then maybe you can lob it up...altho even then norman closes but you don't lob a ball up with no room on the field....unless llike I said its a corner fade

Listened to nbc sports radio after the game and the dude hosting was pimping Kapernick to be birds next QB. I'll listen. Kap needs out of SF. If the greatest coach in the history of football stays he'll probably entertain this idea.
They picked off Cam Newton three times and still managed to give up 27 points. If someone would have told me that before the game, I would have cock-slapped them.
Whatever. Season's over. Time to move on.
Pickoff Newton 3 times and they still lose. Unreal.
what an awesome game last night.
Chip Kelly the coach should punch Chip Kelly the GM right in the nuts.
let's be honest chip kelly the coach ain't all that either...I thought the whole point of trading talent for culture would be to avoid things like the team not being ready to play when the game starts...I mean if nothing else wouldn't a bunch of culture warriors be more prepared and ready to play than the other guys ..the eagles constantly get blown out the gate by the opponent...that's on the head guy
also it should be illegal to use ryan mathews as little as he does....it's clear as day that he's so much better than demarco murray who is so farging slow and has no burst...but chip the coach refuses to see or acknowledge this
he already blamed duce for the rb rotation.

Agreed and you know I was for the Murray signing. Gargano put it best, he runs like he has a piano strapped on his back. Mathews is better in every way.
And before you say it, there was/is still money under the cap to upgrade the line/WRs etc., so that's on Chip
i dont care if demarco murray was on a 2000 yard pace right now and they were 30 mil under the cap....i dont believe in giving that kind of money to any running back or to the rb position in general because rarely if ever will your return match your investment
their best running back didnt touch the ball after a 60 yard td run
chip absolved himself of blame. the head coach said it was on his assistant.
this happened.
In hindsight do you spend the extra $2 million to re-sign Maclin. You'd inherit a 1st round pick too because they're not taking Agholor if Maclin's still on the team. Maclin would be overpaid but at least he's competent.
absolutely you do....i was ok with letting him go as i think almost everyone was....but again its not about who you let go its about who you replace them with and ckgm has done a horrible job of replacing what he has lost which is killing ckhc
only point id differ on is the pick...i would have still taken a wr even if mack was kept...they are so devoid of weapons at that position its not even funny...it was really bad even with good jordan matthews with horrible jordan matthews its become catastrophic
probably would have still lost the dallas game but they would be at worst 6-1 right now with a top 10 offense which is what they would have with a set of legit nfl wideouts all properly slotted
maybe grab OL with the pick but yeah I would've kept him.
Yeah the WR position couldn't be more farged up if they went out and signed all UDFAs right now.
Matthews' drops are ridiculous. I can't think of another Eagles WR who has dropped that many. Mayyyybe Na Brown?
And it is infectious...every last skill position player is dropping passes.
Pimp and Maclin would have made all the difference last night if they both weren't sidelined with injuries.
We know Chip's super afraid of having injured players on his roster.

its a repulsive roster....I think it was the second quarter of the atlanta game where I first posted in the game thread that "i hate this farging team"
If this team somehow wins the division, it will probably be the first time in my life as an Eagles fan where I have so little excitement for a playoff game. This team is going nowhere, playoffs or not.
Honestly, I'm not even a Nick Foles fan, but if Chip just kept the 2013 roster in tact, and tweaked the defense like he did this past offseason, they would be a top 3 or 4 team in the NFC, and maybe top 6 or 7 in the entire NFL. The NFL competition is that weak across the board, there are just so many meh teams, which makes the mediocrity of the Eagles that much more embarrassing.

That's just ridiculous. Bradford farging sucks. He's a deer in the headlights. The receivers are shtein, no doubt about it, but he's a disaster.
hes been bad but with a legit nfl wr corps hed be average to slightly above which would have been more than enough to have won the atlanta carolina and wash games
Now I'm not what you'd call a foot ball guy--hate the sport, its players and especially the fans, actually--but I have to observe that if even half of those Beastie drops were caught, the Panthers probably don't win. And also that, Bradford appears to be putting the ball in a part of the universe from which a professional football player could be reasonably expected to catch it. So, what the farg.
I also wonder though...hasn't that been the case for Bradford in the NFL? His guys seem to have a disproportionate number of drops. No? So, what the farg.
Irrelevant semantics. The receivers suck. The quarterback sucks. If you want to say it's 58 percent receivers and 42 percent quarterback, that's fine and dandy to me.
its like 95% receivers....they are so bad that the quarterback by default is going to be bad before the game even starts...bradford is not as bad as hes shown but hes also not good enough to overcome awful weapons
Fine. 95/5.
Who really cares at this point? The Bradford experience is half-way over. They'll get another quarterback next year, hopefully one who isn't a broken down loser, and with a little luck they'll sign some receiving talent as well.
I say Trevone you say Boykin
Trevone!
I'll play along in your dumb little game.
Boykin.
Any relation to the Steelers' back-up slot db?
No relation.
But he's the perfect guy to run this offense. It's a shame they don't have the 2nd round pick but hopefully he slips bc he's a read option spread QB and they can snag him with one of their third rounders
yeah you better hope he slips to the 3rd round.
boykin won't be anything of substance in the nfl
I don't know a ton about him but know enough that I wouldn't think of using a 1st on him. but not even a 3rd or 4th ?
boykin is a late rounder that you hope one day will develop nfl qb skills....he will never start in the league
it would be insane to take him in the 3rd but even if you did there in the last 25 years there have been exactly 2 qb's drafted in the 3 or 4 round that would be considered even good much less "perfect"
I guess J is damp in his shorts over his inflated college numbers.
theres probably a 50/50 chance to make the league boykin will need to switch to WR....so yes j is out of his mind for wishing they still had their second round pick to take him....dook is like six foot tall
The odds of getting a mid to late round franchise quarterback are astronomical. You get them in the first or maybe second. For every Russell Wilson there's a thousand Colt McCoy's.
I don't blame him for taking a shot on Bradford because Sanchez sucks and Foles wasn't the answer in terms of arm-strength & athleticism, but if Chip isn't a total retard he uses the likely mid-first rounder he's going to have to get a franchise guy. Sooner or later this misbegotten franchise is going to luck out. Hopefully it's next year.
so who would be coming out the could be projected to be there (assuming it's a mid 1st) qb wise ?
no one worthy
gotta go o-line in the 1st anyway.
oh, and in the 3rd & 4th too.
I didn't really think there was anyone worth it in the 1st but yeah, they need multi OL positions upgraded.

very risky to not take best availble in the first round but at the same time i dont know how they dont go OL or WR...of course a lot depends on what 16 FA looks like at those positions...its usually not difficult in FA to significantly upgrade on the OL...you arent going to get stud LT of course but you can usually have some success in OL FA....WR is more difficult....on the flip side its much easier to get lineman thruout the draft than impact wr's
so who knows....could be lunch meat could be peaches
There are some good offensive lineman that will hit the fa market this upcoming offseason, Okung, Yanda, Trent Williams to name a few. Chicago is in a rebuilding phase and I doubt they hang on to Alshon Jeffery. He has a bit of an annoying injury history but he's the exact type of wr this offense needs.
DC already locked up trent williams balt did yanda as well...great lineman like that arent gonna hit the market but you can usually still get some good ones
totally agree on jeffrey

His combine height will be interesting because he's listed as 6'2 now
But I don't even care if he is 6'0...he will be a good QB, I believe.
Jeffery's injury history makes him a no brainer for chipster.
any other untradeable players they should trade for?
Urlacher?
I'm trying to figure out where in this thread trades were being discussed.

Todd has an odd way of making stuff up to suit his grievance. He's like a women in that regard.
I count 14 franchises where the fans can feel confident that they will have a reasonably serviceable or better QB next season. If you're feeling generous, you can throw in Bortles and Bridgewater and make it 16. Then there's another handful of teams still kicking the tires on a QB and who aren't quite sure what they have yet, and what they have might turn out to be total shtein. Possibly you could even consider the Eagles to be in that group.
That leaves you with at least 10 franchises who would jump at the chance to sign any QB who gives them any hope whatsoever.... we're talking the kinds of franchises who could possibly get excited about bringing in Sanchez. These teams are chasing free agents (98% of whom are bound to suck since anyone even reasonably serviceable -- see Flacco -- usually gets locked up for a decade) and draft picks. Not sure what the stats on draft picks are but it wouldn't surprise me if even if you just look at first round QBs, only about 1/3 of them max are picks you feel good about 5 years later. So you basically have the choice of signing a loser and working to improve the rest of your team, or probably wasting a high to mid first round draft pick and the two-three years it takes to determine that the pick was indeed wasted, unless you luck out or happen to suck in the one year out of every ten that a Luck-level can't miss QB is available. You could also sign an ancient dude like Matt Hasselbeck who is probably better than any young guy in the draft or on the FA market but you can't fool a fanbase into thinking that offers long-term hope.
In the Eagles case, they have needs at other positions that are too desperate to ignore in the first round to take a risk on a QB who will probably suck. They will re-up with Bradford for cheap or find some other loser who at least has the glint of an upside. Only someone who hasn't watched the 49ers since they were in the Super Bowl could think that Kap would be a solution. Same goes for RGIII. Neither of those guys offer you any more than Michael Vick does at this point, and since you'd have to trade for them, they cost the franchise more than a similarly stinky FA.
Here's the list of potential 2016 Eagle starters. (http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/quarterback/) A few other QBs who seem ready for the glue factory should be available later on. You might be able to get Johnny Football if he's not suspended. Fantasize about one of these guys in Eagle green next year.

unfortunately you cant count on the eagles to not do that...you are dealing with GMCK....the guy who already gave up a second and a legit nfl starter for the guy they might now sign for cheap
thats assuming bradford will even be that cheap....you just said yourself there are no less than 10 teams who would jump at signing someone like him
Chip got rid of a RB because he only ran for 1300 yards in this amazing system. Why would he keep a QB that's so much worse than that?
