Evans is a 6-foot, 190-pound cornerback from Kansas State. A first team All-Big 12 selection during his final season in college, Evans was initially a walk-on to the program. He ended up starting 31 games, producing seven interceptions and 35 pass breakups. He also forced five fumbles during his college career.

good to see chip going hard in this draft to replace all the DB busts he picked in the last two drafts

I'm not gonna argue this forever again but it's been repeatedly said that Howie was the shot caller. Only you seem to dispute this.

you cant argue it because you have to believe that your current coach/gm has nothing to do with bad things...even tho its farging blatantly obvious chip was making the picks...do you even look at their drafts or do you just put your fingers in your ears close your eyes and go NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! when everything isnt 100% rosey with your team

lol of course I look at the picks!

All the DB busts he picked the last two years, you said, which is correct. However they're not all pac-12 guys nor are they Ducks.

And do you think Howie has blinders on for west coast teams? I am sure that Chip had input as do the other coaches on staff but ultimately the calls were made by Howie.

ed reynolds - pac 12, college degree, known as super intelligent team leader

jaylen watkins - One of the most versatile defensive backs, Watkins started 28 games in his four-year career at Florida with 17 at left corner, three at right corner, two at slot corner and six as a free safety. Head coach Chip Kelly values Watkins' versatility and isn't afraid to test the rookie by teaching him both cornerback and safety to start his NFL career.

"Extremely high football intelligence," Kelly said. "He has the speed to play corner, but sometimes when you're drafting guys, you're trying to project that maybe he can be this. Obviously, there is evidence of him playing safety and doing it at a really high level.

"He could be the quarterback of the defense because of his football intelligence, and we just thought that versatility and that football intelligence and character part of it, we thought it was a really good value, especially today. He's one of those guys that we were really excited about last night, where if we didn't get a great offer, then we were going to stay right there and take Jaylen."

jordon poyer - pac 12, corner/safety hybrid. college graduate team captain leader

and those are the db's

go thru the other picks from the last two drafts without being an idiot homer and tell me how chips fingerprints arent all over them...those drafts really arent any different from this one

jesus ignorance annoys me

Does stubbornness annoy you too? How about being blind?

So Chip is the only NFL coach or GM who values smarts and versatility?

And what is wrong with that anyways? That doesn't make someone less of a ball player

dont change the subject

if you support chips philosophy then thats a whole different topic and we can have a valid debate on it

but you said howie was behind the last two drafts...that is honestly one of the most ignorant dumbest things ive ever heard regarding the eagles

lol I'm not changing the subject - you say I'm ignorant and I say you're stubborn.

Multiple people have said Howie was the shot caller. You don't believe this. Like its some JFKesque conspiracy. Like Chip was calling the picks in from the grassy knoll or something.

I actually side with you on many philosophies when it comes to picking a player. However I don't see a problem with versatility and smart players nor do I have a beer with a coach wanting size.

On a side note I kinda like that JFK angle. We could remake the Oliver Stone flick and have it centered around the Eagles draft. Lee Howie Roseman is a patsy!

and this is why homers disgust me....if the last two drafts had been great youd say chip was all over them because he picked a million pac 12 and oregon guys plus almost to a man every player fit his stated wants in a pick

but because they werent great your reasoning is "multiple people" have said they werent his players

good argument

No I wouldn't have - because I am capable of giving Howie credit. If something is good I'll says it's good and vice versa.

You have it twisted to fit your stubborn narrative of anyone not seeing it your way as being a homer.

Post by: ice grillin you on May 02, 2015, 05:44:37 PM
the narrative is that 95% of all the players picked fall under chips requirements...its literally punching you in the face and you still deny yet call me stubborn...holy farging irony batman

No shtein they fall under his guidelines! He's the coach and it's his system.

He tells his football people what measurables he wants and they find them.

Working in unison. The hell is Howie gonna do? Go pick a bunch of midgets?

if howie was the running the draft/PP people like pimp would be picked...not football angels...and people like pimp wouldnt be released

but pimp being jettisoned was def howie
