I still hate this schedule. Nothing was better than 12pm Saturday when the first round would start. This Thursday night shtein blows.
And this never gets old...

agree on the start day. miss the gatherings on draft day talking football, discussing all the picks as they happened.
my hopes and dreams for tonight...
phillip dorsett - WR – lot of people would say this is too high to take him but its farging exactly what they need....would spread the field and open up the underneath for everyone else...a tougher version of pimp........ i like him ever so slightly over perriman cause he can be moved around and play the slot or stretch the outside...chip prob like this versatility but no way he takes someone his size...hes also nfl ready right now....perriman is more raw but with a bigger upside
breshard perriman - WR – probably the biggest upside in the entire draft....the size speed combo is uncanny...has a dropsies problem but I didnt see much of that altho other than a handful of games mostly what I watched was highlite film
nelson agholor - WR – this would be more a need pick...i definitely like him but hes not that exciting...basically a more athletic jordan matthews...however hes a wr and nothing else at 20 really would excite me if the above two guys were gone (dorsett will for sure be there but I just know cleveland is gonna farg the eagles in the ass and snatch perriman at 19) except for.....
randy gregory/shane ray – Edge/OLB – i dont have any faith that chip would take either of these guys because they arent football angels but if either are there....especially gregory id be all over them
I can see Perriman going before 20. In reality I have a feeling some good players will fall but the Eagles will pick someone from left field again or Jake Fisher
I don't even care if he's good, the one player who my television will be in danger of breaking via bottle tossing from is if they draft Fisher.
I can't take this shtein anymore. Adding insult to injury I have an appointment at 2:00, right when the draft starts. farg! Saving grace is my buyer is a huge football/Broncos fan so she won't object to having my phone on.
I would love any of the picks IGY laid out there. Falling more in love with Dorsett and Agholor every day. I say hell with Gregory and his off field issues, the kid can play.
Same here. Don't give me that bullshtein or else I'll combust

You wanna see a farging riot? Oh shtein!
Florio is puffing up what's probably nonsense that the Eagles are trying to get to #1. It would be the greatest troll move of all time if they moved up and took Winston.
fisher really shouldnt go higher than the middle of the second and imo hes more a third rounder...that said im not a believer in reaches...you think a guy is that good then take him...that said 20 would be ridiculous for him
the thing that really scares me about chip taking him even more than the oregon thing....is 1) all i ever heard about him all season was how hes a selfless team player and 2) hes very much like lane johnson in style and substance
Lane Johnson is incredibly athletic. Don't think Fisher touches him in that regard. McShay had him at 21 today. I just want proof Chipper can look beyond Eugene.
hes not as athletic or else he would be going in the first round...but hes an athletic lineman who can move which is what chip likes...remember how everyone talked about lane being qb who became a lineman...well fisher was a te who became a lineman
they are similar in style and substance....that doesnt mean one is as good as the other

Ed Werder is saying the same thing
I don't believe Werder has any sources outside of Dallas.
his producer at espn is his source...to pump up the draft hype machine
winston has been a lock to tampa for months...thats why all the talk has been about #2 until about five minutes ago when people decided to tease the twitter sheep

Just another half hour until I start waiting for one of you guys, probably Ed, to make a thread letting me know which player I'm going to be mad they drafted because I'm sure as hell not going to watch the goddamn draft on a Thursday night.

If we can keep that rolling we'll be back to a weekend draft in just a decade or two.
All I expect from this team is disappointment...so...I know they're at least consistent in that department.
I really have no clue who any of the players are in the draft, so I'll just wait to react until I see all of your reactions and then I'll react with the majority.

i think the jacksonville pick is really interesting...not often you have the third overall pick and you could legit go in three different directions...fowler amari cooper or leo willy

Chip was saved from himself by Tenny not giving in to him offering the entire roster
Now hopefully someone reaches for Fisher to keep him away from Chip and help maintain my sanity
Sonofabitch!
Needed him to slide more. I'll be shocked if Perriman is there at 20 now.
TRADE!

Gotta be Melly Mel Gordon right??
Ding ding
Gonna go outside the box here and say Bud Dupree goes to Houston
Bud to Houston?
No way.
this could be perriman time
Yeah to replace Andre
And HELL NO to this
@Jeff_McLane: Keep an eye out for FSU G Cameron Erving for #Eagles if he's there at No. 20. #Eagles had been narrowing in on strictly guards pre-draft.
i want a wr but i love erving and would be happy with him
Wow Johnson to Houston...mildly surprising
Armstead
Minus two ducks...Chip is itching to take Fisher
No chance the Eagles do something smart and take Cam Erving. They're taking someone no one is expecting or ever heard of. Think Ivan Drago in football pads.
Amazing that this Draft is essentially only interesting because of the shtein that didn't happen. NFL magic.

I think he ran a 4.42.
Rather have Perriman but he works. Not a Marcus Smith redux at least.
QuoteNelson Agholor, WR, USC
Agholor is not a straight-line speed guy. And that's OK, as plenty of pure straight-line speed guys -- like Darrius Heyward-Bey, who was drafted seventh overall by the Raiders in 2009 but has averaged just 402 receiving yards in six seasons since -- end up failing to make much of an impact in the NFL. The thing with Agholor is, when you combine his 40 time (which, at 4.42 seconds, is still pretty good, even if it's not best-in-class) with his impressive showings in the short shuttle and three-cone drill at his pro day, you have a picture of a receiver who can burn when he needs to and change direction with alacrity. Agholor is a good route-runner who could be the big surprise among this year's receiver crop. With his speed, quickness, hands and fluidity, he's got a shot to be this year's version of Odell Beckham Jr.

I can see Perriman going to Baltimore now

agreed...the argument in the check box for drafting agohlar is that hes much more nfl ready than perriman who still needs to be taught a lot...agohlar is more like jordan matthews where he is super polished and can step in day one and contribute...and with the state of the eagles wr's that pretty important
of course phillip dorsett is almost as polished and is ten times more talented...but of course chips big guys beat little guys stance will never waiver
taking Gregory would be par for the course for dallas

The visceral reaction to the pick in real time. Not some little smarmy writer like Jason LaCanfora tipping it off for why? To show he has a connection? Yeah we know.
I miss the good old days of the draft when the ESPN jagoffs would smugly spoil the pick ten seconds early every time a pick came in.
Assuming he doesn't go the last two picks here, I'd like Eric Rowe tomorrow. Safety/corner/Oline would be the priorities.

Reid told Whisenhunt about the 1999 draft, when Mike Ditka was running the Saints (into the ground), and offered his entire draft so he could take running back Ricky Williams. Reid's Eagles said no thanks, used their pick on Donovan McNabb, and were set at quarterback for a decade.
The chance at that kind of stability at the position was the key for Reid in his first year as head coach.
"I was talking to Andy today,'' Whisenhunt told King. "He told me the story about Ditka offering a whole draft for his pick. I understood what Andy was saying. It certainly helped solidify what I was thinking—that's for sure."
So while it's not exactly Reid's fault that Kelly's plan to build an all-Duck army of kung fu killers was spoiled, the former Eagles coach might not have helped.
Granted, the Titans should have known taking a near-sure thing at quarterback was the right call without affirmation, but hearing it from someone else might have solidified the wisdom of it.
you guys can thank andy.
philly was the 3rd highest rated market for the draft (which overall was down 25%, but that had more to do with the lack of manziel than anything)
the power of MM

That story is so farging stupid.
"I talked to a guy who selected a QB high in the draft, and the QB did well, so I decided to draft a QB high in the draft."
It's gonna be so great in three years when MM gets cut for being awful and Chip brings him in to much blah blah blah.
CANNOT WAIT.
Yup.
I don't think Chip's going to be here in three years.
Good odds there, too.

the wonderful world of PFT
So a Super Bowl coach has to be told by another coach to hang on to the second pick of the draft? Genius.
I'm moving on. Would have been nice but not at the price Titans wanted. Did you hear Phil savage? The difference between #20 and #50 is almost nothing. Agholor will be fine. Chip will get the most out of him. Like IGY, I would have been more excited about Dorsett. I would have been happy with any of the 3 (Agholor, Dorsett, Perriman).
Now get us some youth at OL, a beast at Safety/CB, and we'll pray a QB falls in Chips lap.
i didnt read the article but did it happen to mention that neither andy reid nor ken whisenhutt are the gm's of their respective teams and dont have final say on anything
the fact that florio just makes things up and everyone knows yet people still actively read him is abject insanity to me
then again sports fans are lunatics
the link is the biggest eagle fan troll job ever....saying andy reid cost the team mm is actually pretty brilliant...of course like you say it doesnt work unless you have cranial lumps willing to click it...and theres tons of those out there
tonights hopes and dreams
round 2
pj williams – CB – really good press cover corner which chip loves...but I think his future is to become a great safety
danielle hunter – edge – massive amounts of upside...needs to be coached up but his measurables are sick
eric rowe – S – another college corner....but he played for utah which means hes too slow to play corner in the nfl...move him to safety and you have something
randy gregory (edge) – again a guy chip would never take...but i can dream big that if hes somehow there when they pick that chip goes HAM...dooks a top 10 talent
round 3
senquez golson – CB – my man....love this guy...again too small for chip but a super playmaking cornerback who will struggle against really big wideouts and isnt going to get jump balls but can play slot or outside and will guard anyone...size may push him to the 4th round
chris conley – WR - outside guy who can stretch...would be a good red zone guy as well...love the SEC...chip had him in for a visit which gives hope for this pick
sammie coates – WR – huge package of skills but so rough around the edges...would be hard to see chip taking him...but has a chance to be a #1 wr down the road

Not only is it a bad story, it's nicked from Peter King (http://mmqb.si.com/2015/05/01/marcus-mariota-tennessee-titans-nfl-draft/), who at least had the sense to add "Now, let me make it clear: Reid did not ruin the Eagles' chances of trading for Mariota. That would be overly simplistic and, honestly, false. But it's quite a coincidence that the coach Kelly replaced, in the hours before the draft, gave Whisenhunt one more reason to say yes to Mariota and no to Kelly."
But just think of how stupid the whole concept is. Ditka also offered the same bonanza to the Browns, who turned him down and drafted Tim Couch. I wonder if the Browns GM from that time would give the same advice as Reid about ignoring the trade offers.
I'd like Conley and Rowe for sure.

eagles taking daniel teo nesham
i just dont get why the writers would say that....saying the eagles are looking to trade up is one thing...saying one team makes more sense than another is strupid...if your guy is on the board you try to find a willing trade partner and make the deal then take him...like when you all posted the rumor the vikings spot was like 8 picks away still

Tevin Campbell...err Coleman goes to ATL
Very good pick
Giants took OO
Nice pick by them
Garrett Grayson to NO
there goes conley
Andy jacked Conley
Round and round
Is the truth really there
Or is it right under my hair
what is going on with eli harold...im not his biggest fan but he is plummeting and would be a real nice value guy about now
damn that military chick was blazing...no woner they all get raped
Cleveland loved Conley and Andy stole him. And DaVante Parkers moms said she was happy the Browns weren't the team to take him lol
Think Cleve has to go offense here.
i could see san fran taking my man danny hunter or eli...seems like their kind of pick
not really a need so much anymore with the rowe pick but i love pj williams
bet eagles trying to trade out to maybe get a 5th back
I think they stay put and go defense....or maybe OL

so not rb or qb
Ok? Hicks?
Man, Kendricks is really not long for this team.
I'm a bit perplexed at this pick
Injury history is a huge red flag. Had a nice combine but I'm not workout warrior fans
NFL.com, my only source for draft news, projected him as a 4th or 5th rounder. So, boo?
QuoteStrengths
Looks good on the hoof. Has desired height, weight and speed. Smart and loves the game of football. Scouts say the staff at Texas raves about the way Hicks lifts, prepares for games and takes care of his body. Has football character in spades. Not a thumper but a tackle finisher -- won't miss often. Can glide and chase as plays bounce outside. Has burst to leverage outside runs and cut off angles against mobile quarterbacks. Showed more discipline and improvement after a year under head coach Charlie Strong.
Holy crap, this has Chip all over it

Though maybe it shows his fetish for injured players outweighs character flags.

coverage is great...they actually just gave hicks a lot of run
Yeah I was being salty bc they went to commercial when they were up

Right now someone's trying to explain to Chip he can't trade up to a compensatory pick to draft an amputee punter.

The Hunter pick by Minny was nice as was Carl Davis to Baltimore
Also love the Mauldin pick by NYJ - their defense is a goddamn slaughterhouse
Belichick needs his own thug life video for taking players wherever and whenever he chooses
He don't give a farg

Especially since it looks a lot more likely they won't be trading Wilkerson now. Bills aren't shabby on D either, maybe somebody will start getting to Brady one of these days.
Yeah Rex in BUF and Bowles in NYJ? Sheesh
I'm guessing that Bryce Petty ends up in NYJ and Hundley goes to Andy

Tre Jackson - OG Florida State
Daryl Williams - OL Oklahoma (one of my top guys left)

would not be surprised at all if chip took germantowns ibby campbell today...fits his profile absolutely perfectly
Damn Daryl Williams is gone
NYJ took Bryce Petty...i love their draft
And Jamison Crowder goes to WASH....yuck I like that pick
thought they would trade out last round to recoup from the rowe deal....makes sense now as well
someone find out what they got please

I don't like the Kouandijo pick or the Scherff pick or the Matt Jones pick to be honest. But I get what he's doing. They need a stockpiling draft.
I'm pissed that Mayle just went.
Would you take a shot on Hundley if he keeps falling?
Great pick by Baltimore to get Buck Allen. I didn't wanna see him in Dallas
scherff the player is real good....the pick was bad because they didnt take leonard williams....but scherff and kujo are day one starters for them and big time upgrades...agree on matt jones but he is their only suspect pick
i wouldnt sign hundley as an udfa....he is farging horrible
mayle was not getting out of this round and the eagles dont pick until the 6th....why would you be mad hes gone?
real good pick by the patriots....shaq mason was on my list of eagle guys today if they had actually felt like drafting
Because I was hoping Mayle would be there in the 6th
Wingo struggling today. Must've had a late night last night lol
Polian is great as always.
I'm hoping Ifo keeps sliding and the Eagles take him

lol.....what?
This is part of why I am not a Kouandjio fan
While Kouandjio has been part of a successful team at Alabama, that doesn't mean he is ready to take that next step. At times it's painful to watch Kouandjio try to move in space and he's limited to blocks that are right in front of him. His lack of functional athleticism and versatility will limit his NFL chances.
"Not a fan. I've always thought he was bad. Name only, can't play." -- SEC defensive coordinator
Grady Jarrett is a good pick for ATL in Quinn's defense
David Cobb is a nice back and good fit in Tennessee. Like that pick a lot
He went to my crosstown high school rival
short of a trade happening ravens and patriots had as many picks in the 4th round as the eagles had in the first five rounds combined
11 OL taken in the fourth round is a record
there is this kid out of oregon state i was looking at a few months ago that switched from wr to defensive end...hes a total project that may not even get drafted...but his athleticism is retarded....i would love the birds to use a pick on him and try and develop
remember this name obum gwacham
Hundley goes to GB
Interesting
I'm fine with the trade, they don't have a second next season. They added players who can contribute this season. OL depth would have been great but really it's not like whoever they drafted was going to be a factor this season. Tobin, Molk, Barbre add decent depth for the short term. Would like another db
Ajayi to Miami is a nice pick if his knee holds up
Minny is killing it - took Stefon Diggs

Yeah I've been digging on Bennett since last night to see why he could've plummeted this far. He's not a fit for the Eagles scheme I don't think but you'd think a 4-3 defensive line thirsty team would've been all over him
non genius bruce arians seems to have no problem with ultra skilled small guys like john brown and jemarcus nelson

eagles run a hybrid not a true 3-4....their scheme can easily fit a bennent...they resigned brandon graham who is a prototype 4-3 end and have even held onto vinny curry
get rid of brandon bair or some other dead weight and go for a guy like this...stockpile talent like championship teams do

the guy the patriots just drafted as a LS snaps the ball at 41 mph...i guess this is a good thing....i have no idea what the average mph on a long snap is
luckily the eagles have a guy who just makes the ball appear in the holders hands
and speaking of ST san fran just took a 6-5 230 pound punter

or of course collins but hes going undrafted i suspect
did the browns miss their pick?
Ummm ESPN shows it as Miami pick??
Nick O'Romey from FSU goes to Barfolo
Nice pick by the bills
nick foles gotta be happy...all of the rams picks have been on offense...of course one of them was a qb
One of my favorite players to watch Josh Robinson just got picked by Indy
Chip said that La'el is not on their board
Said that Mathis has been available for two years and no one has ever made an offer for him
Also -- Eskin is asleep in one of the chairs at the back of the auditorium
outside of a maybe a 6th or 7th round pick who the hell would make an offer for evan mathis?...chip overvalues him to an embarrassing degree...the guy just doesnt get player personnel...just coach buddy
Wtf are you talking about? He was answering a question
Mel and his pumpkin pie obsession cracks me up
But he's admitted to a mortal food sin - he takes the cheese off his pizza. Unamerican.

sf took busta buss anderson super value....its crazy how the same organizations make good pick after good pick
SF also took Blake Bell in the 4th...

lol I can imagine the steam coming from your ears
not really...if he was a draft pick id be salty...but i have no faith in him to make actual picks...so signing terrible udfa's is meaningless
OL Cole Manhart. 6-6, 310 from Nebraska-Kearney
Bryan Bennett - the ex-Oregon dude that many in the media thought the Eagles would actually draft - signed with Indy.
i miss sunday lounging sippin cocktails and watching day two of the draft almost as much as not having day one on sat
^ THIS TIMES INFINITY ^
Damn straight
i haven't watched college football regularly since allen pinkett...but it seems like the eagles did well, with the exception of addressing the o-line. the 3rd round lb seems to be the only questionable pick...maybe go oline there. whatevs.
go sam bradford!
I can't fault the pick if the personnel guys had him rated higher than any available OL guys.
They are really thin there but no thinner than they were at DB or WR. It's easier to get a fat ass OG than a top notch WR or S/CB.
has there been any talk of converting that big dude from bc they drafted in the last round to the oline? thought i read/heard that somewhere but i can't find it.

I think they fully expected to go OL in the 4th round, but then a run on linemen began and heavily depleted the guys the Eagles were interested in. That's when they bailed out. No way of knowing if they'd make the Hicks pick again if they knew how the 4th round was going to go.
The linemen selected between the Eagles 3rd and 4th round picks were Chaz Green, T. J. Clemmings, Tre' Jackson, and Arie Kouandjio. Clemmings seems like a Kelly guy, right down to the injury history.
They can still get La'el Collins if he's cleared, but something tells me he could not only be fully cleared, but he could cure cancer and save 100 children from a burning building, and Chip Kelly still wouldn't touch him because once he was questioned by police, that was it for any Chip Kelly interest permanently.
