QuoteThe #Eagles' top two personnel executives (Chip Kelly and Ed Marynowitz) have been in the NFL for a combined 5 years.
i was unaware that howie is not GM until just now.
Good move this guy has a nice resume and I haven't read a bad word about him.
But is this it? Is Chip the GM and this guy is his VP? Howie does contracts, this guy does PP. There's not a definitive traditional GM.
The 30 yr old non GM is destined to fail. That's the takeaway from this hire.
So it's not a good move or Jesus would be a better one?
id definitely rather have a made up jew with super powers than a teenage college scout
just me

as for gm I would like there to not be one...I would like chip to bring in two or three intelligent sets of eyes...I cant imagine getting a name guy to come in at this point anyway...any veteran PP guy with cache knows chip holds the crown and wont wanna share it....so go out and get some young bright future gm's to form a sort of committee that chip chairs
thats what I said after gamble was fired so I cant hate on the move to not really hire a GM...its the only way they really could have gone...my concern is chip filling scouting positions with 70 year old ex position coaches...id rather have a couple more young supposedly bright up and coming minds join mary and form a supr group of young scouts to supplement chip
I'm not going to start a parade over this, but I'm fine with it. I'm a big advocate of going with younger executives in sports. This doesn't apply to all, but generally, I think younger executives are more adaptable, more open-minded. Experience has its value, but there are executives who have been around football for decades and have track records with personnel moves that impress no one. If you have an eye for talent, you have an eye for talent.
The second Howie lost the power struggle, Chip was large and in charge. This guy is going to be his glorified consigliere and that's fine. I'd rather have a guy there Chip knows and trusts and who knows the Eagles personnel strengths and glaring weaknesses, and this guy certainly does.

I'm pretty sure there's a country song about Jesus taking the wheel....and driving the Eagles to the Super Bowl!

not sure how much chip trusts him tho...was mary even in his top ten candidates for the job?
As much of a fixated OCD lunatic as he is? Yeah, pretty sure trust isn't an issue.

You're Irish, you drink too much, and you have anger issues likely stemming from childhood trauma and/or repressed homosexual desires (hi, Russell!).

I accept PayPal.
