This is the game to show they're for real (while praying someone finds a way to beat GB before the end of the year).

i think the dallas game against the bears is as much or could be more important to showing if the eagles are for real....or maybe for real isnt the right term but if we all wanna believe in the birds it makes it a lot easier for dallas to be a good team....cause then the thanksgiving win looks that much better

lets say the birds lose close and dallas goes into chicago and routs them....imo then the dallas game would say more about the eagles as it says that maybe dallas is a good (not great) team rather than the team that is gonna fold and go 8-8 again like everything thinks right now...the bears are bad but a primetime night game on the road in chicago in december is kinda sneaky and easily a december game dallas has lost many times in the past

of course beating seattle would be their best win since beating the ravens the year they won the superbowl...so how about just do that
Title: Re: Next Victim: Seattle

so the eagles SHOULD try to win this game?

yes, but you didn't think of it on your own
Title: Re: Next Victim: Seattle

They nearly annihilated the Cowboys last week and would have if they had converted td's instead of fg's.  That was the definition of a statement win against a quality opponent (on the road and in front of a national tv audience).
Title: Re: Next Victim: Seattle
Post by: Diomedes on December 01, 2014, 10:28:34 PM
Hey it's great to beat Dallas and all, and to do it well on Thanksgiving is special indeed, but let's not get carried away.  I'm not convinced they are a quality team yet.  So far, they're a lot like the Eagles this year: they've looked good at times, and like dog shtein at others.
Title: Re: Next Victim: Seattle
Post by: MDS on December 01, 2014, 10:34:18 PM
they've played 5 difficult road games and lost 3 of them
they've won all their home games
they've won all their division games

there's nothing "to see."

the eagles winning against dallas was more of a redemption for the gb embarrassment.  if they take out the seahawks then i think it's more of statement game where their likely to make some noise in the playoffs and not just be a speed bump.

Not happening.  However, I do see some one going into Green Bay and beating them in the playoffs.  I pray it's the birds but I definately could Seattle going up there saying "farg you Aaron and farg you world" and beating them.

Home field advantage is a real effect and it can be more pronounced when there are actual environmental factors -- they are used to playing in the cold, or the team's offense is built for playing in a dome, etc. But whenever we get into one of these seasons where a team seems "unbeatable" at home, where they kill everyone by 40 points at home over the course of a season, it's hard for me to believe that's anything other than a statistical glitch based on a small sample size with a good team that has a pretty good chance of killing teams by 40 points on the road also. There's nothing magical that makes a team like the Packers invincible at home, and they are fully capable of losing at Lambeau at any time to any team. They just don't lose much anywhere.

the cards are dead....seattle will win that division which would mean they couldnt go to GB in the playoffs until the nfc title game

seattle will lose to the eagles (!) and they have a sunday nighter @ arizona....maybe just maybe?

thats all that needs to happen for zona to win the west. with that both are 10-6 and zona has the tiebreaker. 10-6 seattle gets the 6 seed, beats arizona in the wild card, then goes to lambo and takes out the packers since the eagles cant. my plan.

drew stanton might not beat anyone the rest of the year much less seattles defense and if by chance he does seattle aint going to win to gb and winning anyway

cards i think have scored one td in their last 40 posessions

not feeling good about sanchez and the wr's (don't see how they get open) against this defense....could be a blood bath....luckily seattle isn't exactly an offensive juggernaut...defense needs to keep the game low scoring offense can not turn it over a single time and maybe they can pull it out
Title: Re: Next Victim: Seattle

All about getting the run game going. Hopefully Kelce can be in a zone and control Bobby Wagner...

I'd use Sproles and Shady on the field together more

Title: Re: Next Victim: Seattle

yeah those two are gonna have to get in space for the team to make plays because the wideouts aren't winning one on ones sunday

What, no faith in the twice a game sideline pass to Riley Cooper?
Title: Re: Next Victim: Seattle
Post by: PhillyPhreak54 on December 05, 2014, 10:29:18 PM
Chip will have to get creative on his pick routes to free people up.

If the run game gets rockin and Kam is in the box that's huge. I'm assuming they'll have Sherman following Mac around...if that's the case then there will be opps for Matthews to win some one on ones I think.

Sanchez cannot be indecisive.

Key to the game right there...getting the running game going early...o line was dominant last week so this is s huge test...I see a 21-17 type game which could go either way. Think chip moves Sanchez around like he did last week and keeps the passing short with high % throws with lots of movement.
Title: Re: Next Victim: Seattle
Post by: PhillyPhreak54 on December 05, 2014, 10:37:43 PM
Yep if the run game is going, which Seattle can be leaky on their run d at times, then Chip can enact the second half of the Dallas game strategy and not have Sanchez throw too much
Title: Re: Next Victim: Seattle

27-14 seahawks

eagles not quite ready for this type of opponent yet....sanchez will have at least three turnovers....chip needs his qb - bad
Title: Re: Next Victim: Seattle
Post by: Munson on December 06, 2014, 11:12:54 AM
I think Sherman is one of those "Stay on one side of the field at all times" guys....so just put Cooper over there and let him go.
Title: Re: Next Victim: Seattle
Post by: Eagles_Legendz on December 06, 2014, 12:06:50 PM
Yeah Sherman is known for not moving off his side.

Don't see Seattle moving the ball much if Wilson can be contained somewhat.

Thinking something like 20-17.

So a defense admitted that Maclin is actually good enough to game plan for just a little bit?

I thought that didn't happen ever cause Maclin sucked.

(I fully expect a GF-Cooper comment hah)

With the Seattle offense sputtering lately and their defense going up against Mark Sanchez, no one is expecting a high-scoring game. But things don't always go as expected in the NFL. 34-27 Seahawks.

I'm not a fan of projecting that far out. If Rodgers gets injured, GB is done. The Seahawks have looked like shtein for large swaths of this season. Both those teams are hot now, I don't know who is going to be hot in a month. Probably not the Eagles.

Eagles really haven't beaten any good teams. Both Dallas and Indy are even more fraudulent than the Eagles.

The Eagles have gone about as far as a team with no QB and a less-than-legendary defense can go. They are in the same boat as Arizona.

Eagles aren't in the same league as gb/Seattle. They're tier one. Eagles/Dallas/Detroit/zona are tier 2s. Sometimes tier 2s get hot and make some noise but it usually takes a hot qb (manning, Flacco etc.). Sanchez is a bottom barrel qb. They needed him to manage the game but didn't trust him with that.

Horribly called game from chip.

Quote"Was it a miscommunication?" Cooper said. "No. (Sanchez) knew the the route. I knew the route. I ran the route. He threw the ball."

The statement by Cooper appears to throw plenty of blame at his quarterback, who struggled against the Seahawks, completing 10 of 20 passes for just 96 yards passing. Sanchez agreed it was a bad throw.

"I missed the landmark to Coop," Sanchez said. "I just missed it. I was kind of flushing forward and I didn't get everything that I wanted on the ball. It was just a bad throw."

The play in question might have been Sanchez's worst throw of the day, but it also appeared as if Cooper could have done more to break up the pass.

This team isn't good enough to beat superior teams unless everything goes right.  3/4's of their secondary sucks, the quarterback is a farging reject, and the inside linebackers should be selling property & casualty in Iowa.

they already lost to both, other than the niners looking like complete garbage i don't see why they would beat either of them in a rematch either.

The Niners are horrible. Kaepernick is probably the worst QB in the league right now.

The Cards aren't good. They were at the top of their game and healthy last time we played...now not so much.

They would beat the Cards in a re-match even if they had Palmer at QB. They're the worst "good" team in the league.

actually the eagles probably are

maybe the colts....even though the eagles won that game id still take andrew luck over every single player on the eagles roster

I love (not really) how you discount or ignore anything that doesn't fit your agenda.

They're 9-4 by beating lousy teams and losing to better ones.

Dry your tears, already.

They had ARZ beat...the bomb play was a loss on Cary & Allen

So Eagles are 9-3

Cary & Allen are 0-1

i dont know who would win but id put my money on dallas because they have real offensive weapons that can outscore seattle....seattles defense could actually play real well agains them and dallas can still win because of the pts they can put up...its not a great matchup for the hawks...dallas also has a much more physical offensive line than the eagles....eagles offensive line can move and pull and get downfield but cannot take getting punched in the mouth

This is your worst post ever

If this were the week after the Eagles kicked Dallas's ass you'd be singing a different tune. Dallas tunes up Chicago who is one of the worst teams in the NFC and Seattle beats the Eagles and this is where we're at.

i think eagles are going to win this week

nfl is all about matchups....i like dallas against seattle better than i like the eagles against seattle...however the eagles offense matches up well against a terrible defense like the cowboys...dez bryant is a huge difference maker...eagles have no one on their roster that can manufacturer a big play on their own which is what you gotta do against seattle...you arent going to outscheme them which is what chips offense is all about
Title: Re: Next Good Team to Destroy the Eagles: Seattle

The only team in the NFC that has a chance against Seattle right now is the Packers.

the raiders beat sf 48 hrs ago that probably wouldnt happen again either

but to say seattle would rape a team that raped the seahawks in seattle is just a ridiculous stretch and only because it is dallas and the seahawks curb stomped your beloved birds are people saying it

also to say the eagles would definitely win in arizona right now is only said because its the eagles

the eagles are the greatest the cowboys suck....i get it

continue on

not sure if the location was specified, but arizona won a very close game. currently, arizona is injured beyond belief. they are on their backup qb, who is a major downgrade from carson palmer. its not a stretch to say the eagles would win if they played this week.
