Title: Week Nine - at Houston
Post by: PhillyPhreak54 on October 28, 2014, 10:29:55 PM
I will be in attendance and fully expecting a win.

Since being sacked 5 times against JAX Foles has only been sacked twice.

Least amount in the NFL.

Huge test against Clowney and Watt this weekend.

How did Clowney do this past Sunday against Tennessee?  I know he played.  That dude healthy with Watt, shiiiitttttt.

hard to sack a guy who is running backwards before throwing it

sacks are far from a true indicator of pressure on the qb but houston is just middle of the road in sack totals....the eagles have i think have five more sacks than they do....because of watt mostly where they make a big difference is when they do get to the qb their forced fumble rate is huge

Albert/Moose/Goose, and the game is only being shown in central/eastern PA, south NJ and Houston.  Also the Texans are wearing their red alts

Yeah on the tickets it says for people to wear their "battle red".

I should go with a Kelly green painted face.

There's gonna be a shteinload of Eagles fans there tomorrow.

I just got back from a bar in downtown Houston and the entire area was mobbed with green and Eagles chants. Met up with RS22 and had a few drinks. Good times.

No tailgating tomorrow though. It's too much of a pain in the ass here. Everything is very controlled and regulated. Totally different from Philly. People do it but you're allowed one spot and have to buy passes. I was reading the Texans MB and they actually send out tailgate citations and violations by mail. Parked over the lines? Gonna get cited.

Our seats are in the club section (thanks to one of my vendors) so we will go inside early and raid the club bars.

QuoteSeven former Texans are on the Eagles roster for the game Sunday in Houston: inside linebacker DeMeco Ryans, outside linebacker Connor Barwin, tight end James Casey, punter Donnie Jones, offensive lineman Andrew Gardner, wide receiver Jeff Maehl, and linebacker Bryan Braman. They represent 13 percent of the active roster.

So Cushing and Clowney are both out, and the Eagles get Kelce and Sproles back.

That sounds good.  We'll see.

Actually, I won't.  Can't get the game here.

Foles off the back foot again.

This time there was actually pressure there, but still...he's either gotta step into the hit, or just take the sack.

I said it this week, he won't take sacks or throw the ball away.  He just throws the ball up for grabs.  Wtf.

It's pretty bad. I mean, I know it sucks to take the sack, but he'd be taking a lot of the blame off of himself if he was getting sacked instead of tossing the ball up for grabs.

Where the farg is the screen pass? They got killed last week with the blitz and can't keep the pressure off Foles with or without Watt, but won't use the screen to slow thing down. Sure they've had some back ups in but they should have it down by now.

The D knows they're allowed to put the QB on the ground, right? Do they think it's two hand touch?

They were told to show respect to the Civil War veteran.

Maclin just keeps proving people wrong who don't think he is at least a no. 2. He's been looking like a pro bowl no.1 so far this year.

Hate to ruin the party, Pimp 4 receptions, 120 yards, 1 TD today.

I'm still loving our third best receiver from Pittsburgh.

Yeah, but his team is heading for 3-6.

Man, I for the life of me don't know how this team is 6-2. And now it's Mark friggen Sanchez starting. If he has to go 3 or 4 and they keep winning then just give Chip coach of the year then. Don't even wait until the end of the season.

I'm just a little whiney with Foles going down but I like more and more what I'm seeing of this team. They're getting some decent protection most of the time and the running game is starting to crank it up a bit.

thats because you started watching football in 1930 when unathletic awkward oafs were qbs....you miss it and you love that its back

just watch sanchez on a roll out. foles is too tall and his footwork too poor in those spots. the int he threw was the same mistake hes been making for 10 weeks. what more do you need to see? maybe hell magically develop talent.

Are you kidding? I was watching and loving the most athletic qb to ever play the game while your mama was still wiping your little hynie when Randall was playing. I already said that Sanchez looked really good on the rollout pass to Maclin. Me being white and old has nothing to do with me wanting to see more of Sanchez after the way he sucked balls in NY before I say he's better than Foles.

I know it's hard for you but try to keep this about football.

Hey, you leave Roman Gabriel out of this.

Seeing Sanchez roll out on that clinching TD pass to Maclin brought tears to my eyes.  The speed walker isn't the answer for this offense.  Roll right, good.  Roll left, good.  Back peddle 15 yards, not so good.

I got zero joy out of watching the Eagles win yesterday. I can't really say why. I was off the Foles bandwagon so seeing what Sanchez could do should have been at least a little bit interesting. It wasn't. The Texans aren't a bad team at all so a win, coupled with NFC East opponent losses should have been fun. It wasn't. The defense has been getting marginally better so that should be promising. It isn't.

I think I can just already see how this season ends... With a first round playoff loss against any team that can play decent offense and make a defensive stop or two against Mark farging Sanchez or Nick farging Foles. I have no faith in this team to perform in the playoffs against a series of good teams. It all just seems so flimsy when I'm watching them play. Like they're not just on the verge of losing every game but on the verge of being a laughably bad embarrassment of a professional team.

Or maybe I'm just in a pissy mood.

Title: Re: Week Nine - at Houston

They lost to the Cardinals due to turnovers. Josh farging Huff is still seeing reps for some reason. Buttfumble is their quarterback and I'm sort of happy about that because their starting QB was turning the ball over too much. Ryans is hurt and even though he wasn't exactly a world beater he is miles better than anything they have behind him. The offensive line still looks like a warmed over turd from time to time.

Man, I'm just not feeling it with this team right now.

wha?

QuotePeters admitted after Philly's 31-21 victory over the Texans that he didn't realize that Nick Foles had been knocked out of the game until he went to congratulate Foles on throwing a long pass to Jeremy Maclin. To Peters's surprise, he wound up congratulating Mark Sanchez.

"Actually, I didn't even know Foles was out," Peters said, via CSNPhilly.com. "Threw that bomb to Maclin and I turned around to congratulate [Foles] and it was Sanchez. I didn't even know [Foles] was out until then. I started looking for him, but he went in for X-rays."

hmmm... maybe he also doesn't know false starts and illegal use of hands are penalties
