Matt Prater just doinked one off the uprights from XP range...but the FG goes in...how can a teams kicking situation be that awful?!

Panthers are still in the hotel....gotta hope for some backdoor cover magic there from Cam

Browns just fumbled a punt on the 2 yard line, Jags recover it on the 6. TD Jags on the next play. I think they might actually win a game.

Seattle is about to lose to the Rams. Makes that Dallas W look less impressive ( not that Dallas isn't legit)
Title: Re: Week Seven - 2014
Post by: Eagaholic on October 19, 2014, 04:02:53 PM
Hand it to the rams, ballsiest play I've seen this year. Deep in their own end up by two with about 2 minutes left, fake punt throw for 1st down.
Title: Re: Week Seven - 2014
Post by: Eagaholic on October 19, 2014, 04:04:20 PM
Lol and fumble on a run that picks up the 1st to ice the game. Rams very lucky to recover in the scrum.
Title: Re: Week Seven - 2014
Post by: PhillyPhreak54 on October 19, 2014, 04:18:34 PM
Yeah that took huge nuts by Fisher to call that fake

And perfect scenario in Washington...they win but don't cover. Let them rack up a few wins to push them down the draft order
Title: Re: Week Seven - 2014
Post by: MDS on October 19, 2014, 04:21:04 PM
it actually wasnt that ballsy

seattle was scoring anyway....better off giving them the short field so you can get the ball back when they score. if they punt, seattle eats the clock with its drive and wins the game with little to no time left. really just a smart strategy move by fisher.

Exactly

You can throw all the "this team beat that team" bullshtein out the door. Now I'm not saying the Eagles are better than Denver, but they beat the Niners if they're not starting Herremans at RT and a bunch of truck drivers up the middle. Not to mention the Eagles were in Frisco who were coming off 2 straight losses where as they were in Denver and Peyton was going to break the record.

I'm sorry but what are you meatsacks arguing about? Matt said that the Broncos are better than the Eagles, which is about as bland and obviously true as a statement can be. The Broncos would be the Eagles 9 out of 10 times in Philly and 11 out of 10 time in Denver. That is a 100% victory rate. Maths.

But seriously, you don't need to come to the defense of the Eagles over a nothing statement that is 100% true and obvious to anyone with eyes.

Manning is all but unbeatable in Denver.  16-2 in the last 2-plus regular seasons.   They'd get crushed there, no doubt.

They'd also get beaten in Philly most likely.  But they have a slightly better chance simply because Denver isn't that great on the road, not because Philly is so unbeatable.

I swear, no matter what anyone posts on this farging horseshtein message board, you have to come in here and troll it up.  It doesn't matter whether someone is being negative (as I was).  If you're not over the rainbow omgtheeaglessuck, you're a homer.  It's just ridiculous.

Kaepernick would be more accurate than Foles in Chip's offense plus his ability to run would be an added dimension. They missed the boat on Russell Wilson a few years ago, he's perfect for this offense.

i still think are SB contenders with foles, but i don't know how anyone can think a qb who can run doesn't make this offense twice as good.

Looks like I missed some truly interesting back and forth in this thread. And, the Eagles would totally beat the Broncos because football.

I just don't think Kapernick is accurate enough.

kap - 63.8 - 11 td - 5 int
foles - 59.5 - 10 td - 7 int

admittedly kap throws more high percentage passes and routes but lets not act like foles is some joe montana marksman and kap is throwin in the low mid 50's...in fact kaps average yards per throw this year is even higher than foles...im not sure if its because of the eagles strong W/L record or what but I don't think people realize how bad of a year foles is having

Quote from: SD on October 21, 2014, 11:23:53 AM
Kaepernick would be more accurate than Foles in Chip's offense plus his ability to run would be an added dimension.

yeah the threat of a run from the qb spot in this offense would completely transform and elevate it....im gonna go out on a limb and say a read option offense would be much more effective with qb who has the option to run....also chip would coach up kap to improve him....but even under those knuckleheads harbaugh and roman hes still having a better year than foles

What would we do without a strong voice speaking truth to power?  Who else could put a stop to all the Foles >>> Montana talk around here but you?

questioning someone elses accuracy as even a round about way of defeding foles might as well be calling him joe montana.....foles has pretty bad accuracy

For sure, for sure.  Keep up the good fight, man.  Wouldn't want anyone to defend Foles.  Can't have that, not even the wiff of it.  Thanks for keeping us out of trouble.

thats kinda the point....there really is no defense of him right now

when the eagles defense is a bigger reason for why they are winning than the qb position it might be time as a fan to re-evaluate nick

I'm not talking Stats Billybean, i'm talking watching them play, otherwise known as Coach IGY's viewpoint.

If you want a subjective look at the two.  Here's their performance to date this year.  Foles has looked terrible, but his stats for the most part are right in line.
Rk   Player                 Pos    Comp   Att   Pct   Att/G     Yds          Avg       Yds/G   TD   Int   1st   1st%   Lng   20+   40+   Sck   Rate
11   Colin Kaepernick   QB   143   224   63.8   32     1,719   7.7   245.6   11   5   81   36.2   80T   26   2   19   94.3
15   Nick Foles   PHI           QB   141   237   59.5   39.5     1,628   6.9   271.3   10   7   77   32.5   68T   22   4   7   82

And a look at 2013 which was super foles
Rk   Player                    Comp  Att    Pct   Att/G     Yds          Avg   Yds/G   TD   Int   1st   1st%   Lng   20+   40+   Sck   Rate
20   Colin Kaepernick   243     416    58.4    26     3,197   7.7   199.8   21   8   147   35.3   64T   46   10   39   91.6
22   Nick Foles   PHI      203     317    64    24.4     2,891   9.1   222.4   27   2   129   40.7   63T   52   13   28   119.2

I get what your saying, Kap physically is so elite to Foles its ridiculous.  Over the course of last year Kap was below where Foles Comp % is now.  In the end, Foles needs to stop with the happy feet, and just stop turning the ball over.

they are essentially equal in numbers (kap better this year) yet foles is in a superior situation for a qb....if they switched teams it wouldnt be close

and I know this from watching both of them

IGY, the commercial with the headphones wasn't speaking directly to you. Much like with forest fires, you are under no obligation to do it all yourself. Plus, we already know he's the man he's the man he's the man.

So the only reason Foles is even half decent is because of his head coach and his system. Igor couldn't say he was good if he had a gun at his head.
And is someone really bringing midget man dog killer into this conversation?  My God.

Now now, to even suggest that he's half decent for any reason, that's a slippery slope.  First he's not bad because of the coach, then he's half decent because of the coach and the system, next thing you know, he's good because of the coach the system and he's got a great attitude and strong work ethic.

Luckily, we've got a guy here to stop you from sliding into such facile thinking and remind you that Nick Foles is the whitest man alive.

a better way of putting it would be that the only reason he isnt kirk cousins is his head coach and the system

but be proud for having a "half decent" quarterback

homers are the best
