This game sets up as a loss. Short week coming off a big win. Division rival, at home. New QB to study. Washington's coming off a big win, their confidence levels are high. If the Birds win this one I'll be surprised.

It's easier to cover up for a Guard then it is a tackle, I wouldn't be opposed to throwing Herremans at RT for 2 games. Drastic measures sure but Gardner is going to get hammered the next two games.
hopefully tobin will practice this week
TRAP GAME!
yeah, my first thought is that this could be a L but we'll see.
My first thought was I have to take Monday off.
My first thought is...I hope the Eagles betting line is favorable so I can slam it as soon as I land
I'm sad they don't get to play Griffin because he sucks.
What's great is that ES thinks Cousins is another Tom Brady and they all think because the Skins dismantled The Gus Bus that they're on their way to relevancy. No
farg that team. I hope the Eagles jam it up their asses
I don't think Washington is good and I don't think Cousins is good but the Eagles lines are going to need to play better than last night to beat them or Morris will have 150 yds and Foles will be sacked 5 times.
You guys aren't really scared of the District team, are you?

no one is scared of them but the eagles arent scaring anyone either...and really on paper wash has more talent than the eagles...if cousins matches foles or outplays him (foles has not been good so far) then the teams are more or less even....so if i can get dc and a td im all in
Washington does not have more talent.

actually they do....especially with the eagles OL right now...only two areas can you say without argument the eagles are better...at RB and in the secondary...thats it thats the list
eagles have a much better coach too but thats not talent on the field
How awful can Washington's secondary be that they're worse than the Eagles?

TE's I'd take Ertz/Celek over Reed/Paul...Reed is always injured and Ertz is shaping up to be a top TE
D line - I'd take the Eagles in heartbeat
The Skins have better LBs and better WRs...that's it.
I'll take Foles if you're offering the Foles that isn't jittery and throwing off target all game.

The fall didn't look that bad, and he was already talking after the game how he couldn't wait to play Philly, so he'll have a big catch to start the game and then disappear with a minor injury once he makes his point.
he said today he was playing....but after the game the team expressed concern in the dc media that he would rush himself back because its the eagles

vick was well behaved when he was here...always said and did the right thing. mostly everyone got over the dog stuff. he was a good teammate when he lost his job to foles. he was the furthest thing from difficult, and quite likable personality wise.
desean was despised by a good chunk of the fan base before he was slandered by the nj paper for knowing people that might or might not be in a gang
he was despised because of his diva me-first attitude. that doesn't play in philly nor should it.
that said, i loved the guy and still think it was stupid to release him. i'd cheer for him out of respect for what he did. then i'd boo him because he plays for the district.
if you think the hatred of pimp has nothing to do with his color then i dont know. there are other white diva's that are hated (papelbon), sure. but again jimmy from grays ferry was more than happy to see that stillupfront go.
i personally will boo him (im going!) because he plays for a team that i hate and on top of that has a racial slur as its nickname. but then again i dont cock worship athletes because they are good at sports.

People who boo Jackson are racists. There's no other acceptable explanation.
No, but it's stupid. He was one of the 5 best players on the team since they drafted him and was involuntarily removed from the team.
Then again, I never got the argument for booing Werth either, as he was one of the best players on the WS team.
werth was booed because he went to the nats and took a ton of money...plain and simple. its honestly quite stupid, people are just morons. he did get cheered on his initial AB and was actually very well liked.
desean did a lot of things well, but his effort, commitment and interest level were questionable. his attitude was questionable. he got himself kicked off a team because he is a pain in the ass. sorry cuz, i dont cheer that. hes like a brother in law with thats just the worst, but gets you free tickets to games and covers the titty bar tab. but at dinners and what not you want to punch him. then your sister divorces him. its ugly. whose side are you on?
obvoiusly the side that gets the tickets in the divorse.
So basically..."I'm gonna boo him for all these legit reasons, but most everyone else will do it because he's black."
Would never boo Werth. Would boo Jackson. The only explanation for this is being a racist.
white mountain man looking dood = salt of the earth

Eagles first-round OLB Marcus Smith has been getting reps at inside linebacker at practice this week.
The expectation is that he'll get hit first defensive snaps of his career at the spot vacated by ILB Mychal Kendricks (calf). Kendricks isn't going to play against the taterskins, and backups Casey Matthews and Emmanuel Acho can't cover backs or tight ends. Smith can, and he's expected to see some run in sub-packages.

31-20 Birds. They're not losing to Kirk farging Cousins.
I said the same about Tony Banks.
And Joe Webb
23-20 Racists
Everything about this game feels like a loss. Washington should run 75% of the time and fire it deep to Garcon/Pimp/Paul on the play action the other 25% of the time, but that's more of a Shanahan game plan than a Gruden one. Overall I do think the Eagles are a better team than Washington. I would have liked the Eagles chances better against Sam Bradford aka RGIII though. Whatever Griffin was, he ain't anymore.
I'll give it to the Eagles in a squeaker, 24-23.

It's a pretty bad sign when you can't cover a fullback or a tight end and you're a CB [see Fletcher, Bradley].
I think the lineman that went down was faking an injury to give the offense a breather

So... the defense has given up two touchdowns and Foles hasn't even seen the field yet...

JENKINS! Finally someone comes up with a big play.
Eagles personnell-raped the Saints this offseason
3 weeks in a row this defense has taken the ball away on the 4th qtr. They suck, but so far they are stepping up at the right time.
Nice. 51 yarder
Parksey!
Peters + Parkey = GOD
Strange not having this tight ball in my gut when the birds line up for a FG or kickoff.
THIS JUST IN.............................THIS DEFENSE IS AWFUL!
So Cousins sucks huh?
farg! Eagles had a chance to put it away if they could just get a stop.

also the play calling this quarter handing the game over
Awful drive there
This makeshift OL is not allowing any run lanes
Need D to step up in a big way
Bad punt by Jones
They're in FG range almost already
Shiiiiiiiit
This just gets worse. That was just a horrible sequence all around.
Run plays should have been off the table on that last drive. Shady hasn't had an inch of running room all game.
Fletcher Cox is a beast. If you haven't yet, chalk that draft pick up as a hit.
Since when does Chip play not to lose? Wtf was that

Yep. Shady hasn't been able to do shtein all day. Shocking Chip you couldn't run the ball there. Hoyda.
NFL Red Zone split screen is almost as infuriating as this POS defense.
Nice play by Boykin there.
Did Slick Joe say "Ball game" on that third down stop?
I say this is a big 4th down
This defense is awesumz!!
Terrible throw by Cousins.
I can't wait until these two meet again on the reservation later this season.
Great stand by the defense
Come on O salt this bitch away!!!
Boykin is so good
Get a farging 1st down and end this shtein. No faith in the d to do that again.
BIG BALLS CHIP!
Hah, DeSean doesn't even stay to talk to any of his old teammates...runs off the field.
Foles came up big in this game.

Love that dude with the Jerome jersey! Bring it back Jeff!!
Jordan Matthews was awesome today.
Foles showed balls by taking the beating he did and kept shaking off the hits.
The OL is laughable but they still move the ball through the air. The run game has no holes so they have to work on some way to get that opened up especially against SF
Foles had a great first half, missed people in the second but he was getting pounded. Pretty big balls to hang in. Lost in the trenches again unfortunately.
Peters getting tossed is farging rage-inducing. Also - that defensive stop at the end was a thing of beauty. Why the farg can't they play like that all game long? I hate that 3-4 bullshtein, but like Rusty said, it's the players, stupid. They are just flat-out mediocre at best and until they get speed and skill up in that bitch, this team is going to be a teeter-tottering hot mess. Exciting as farg, but just bile-gurgling.

All those backup OL and still no sacks given up. Peters better not get suspended after the NFL reviews the brawl
I've been going to the same bar for over 20 years but tried another one out today. There were at least 75 Eagles fans there and the difference in excitement watching the game with those mongoloids was amazing. Of course I had a Boston fan squeeze in to the table next to ours and he tried exchanging pleasantries. Sorry, dude... game's on. Oh, and Boston sucks.
The only thing that sucks is the drive... it's about a 25 minute ride to this joint, so no drinky-drinky or very little anyway.
Good news for my liver after last night's farce.
Foles is the man. Tough and making plays. He put the team on his shoulders today.
Shady is ot good this season, he's not taking his holes and is less explosive. We can blame it on the I line but he's been a disappointment

Eagles fans effectively took over the Pittsburgh bar I was at today. I think the place is run by Giants fans but that doesn't mean anything this season. The IPAs were flowing. There were a couple dweeby guys wearing the racist garb but we kept them in their place. Only thing that interfered with the atmosphere was the Cowboys comeback and the handful of excited 'boys fans. Congrats guys, you just beat Austin Davis.
one of the more enjoyable football games ive been to
the defense is a...yea. without kendricks and with bradley fletcher playing softer than my meatcicle the results were expected. garcon made some plays, cousins made some throws, pimp was pimp. bottom line is they cant get pressure. defense was better in 2H--all they gave up was the pimp bomb and that 1 terrible drive. not good, but better.
offense managed to score 37 points even though they had 4 backup linemen in and shady did nothing. foles was hurting. still scored 37. chippah.
great crowd, fun yelling things at the wash pro team fans who are ignorant fat racists. got some complaints about the linc experience, but ill bet jeffy does not give an iota of a farg.
That's not your first home game at the Linc, right?
How many times did eagles fans call Desean the N word?
Re the bar... we had one Cowboys fan in attendance. Decent looking woman, actually. Took major bullshtein whenever she stood up but the funny thing is the only game on at the place was the Birds. They had probably 40 tee-vees in the joint and it was all Eagles. My kid heard more "motherfargers" in three hours than she had heard in her entire 14 years on the planet thus far. She hung in there, though.

no, but 1st this year with the new gadgets. they have this huge fakakta board but 60% of it is advertisements or the scorebox. the 1 place for other nfl scores rotated between scores and stats. i didnt know dc's timeout situation until late in the game. people kept getting up every other play to buy beer or pee, it was very annoying.

none that i heard
i've read a lot of bitching from fans about the upgrades they made. if you're in the club seats, the upgrades hit home. if you're not you're not going to see much difference. just more of the same unending advertising blasts, noise, and ridiculous distractions.
also - lolol @ the wifi crap. the game's going on in front of you. stop playing with your goddamn phone and watch the action on the field, you twats.
oh my god the wifi was awful....timeouts last 5 hours. i needed something to do to check scores since i wasnt getting updates on the board.
also they said the r-word early on in the game on the PA, then stopped saying it. everything was washington. love it.
Have you guys noticed the shots in the end zones where the first two rows are empty a lot? That's the Red Zone seats that cost a fortune. I'm curious if they're having trouble selling them because of the cost or if they're just watching it in the club at this point.
Also can't reiterate enough how much better it feels when parkey kicks than henery.
real possibility they are 0-3 if henery is the kicker
Kick today would've been good from 57-58 and was dead straight.
That 51 yarder was a straight bomb right down the pipe. And his kickoffs were ridiculous.

QuotePHILADELPHIA -- After the Eagles topped the Washington taterskins 37-34 Sunday to move to 3-0 while sitting atop the NFC East standings, one would assume it would be a pleasant atmosphere throughout the team.
Not from Cornerback Cary Williams' perspective, it isnt.
Williams, who was burned over the top on DeSean Jackson's 81-yard third-quarter touchdown Sunday afternoon, took the opportunity to criticize head coach Chip Kelly and the coaching staff for the way they handle practices during the week during his media availability after the game.
"I was just trying to conserve as much energy during the week so I can be as effective as I can be on Sunday's," Williams said afterwards. "It was just such a dog fight. It didn't help that I wasn't healthy through the week and it didn't help that I had a dog fight before the week and then I had a dog fight during the game. It's just tough, man. We have to start taking care of our guys, taking care of our players, doing the right thing from there.
"I didn't practice every week, there's a reason for that. A lot of guys had no legs. A lot of guys were in a dog fight before the game even started. We have to take care of our guys during the week to make sure we're fresh come Sundays."
Even after beating the Indianapolis Colts on the road last Monday night, Kelly had the Eagles at the Novacare Complex for a training session Tuesday afternoon, something that clearly didn't sit well with Williams.
"In other words, we have to be smart. As a coaching staff and as players.
"I'm going to be honest with you, it didn't matter if we had a short week or a long week, it's been the same. Something needs to change for us to be more productive. It's tough enough to go out there and play hard for 60 minutes, let alone having to fight through the week.
"When you don't have legs, period, it shows up in the game. Period. Throughout the game. Period."
Williams went on to explain that he isn't the only player concerned with how the coaching staff handled this week.
"When you don't have legs, period," Cary Williams said. "It shows up in the game. Period. Throughout the game. Period."
"I'm saying [practicing every day] impacted a lot of people," Williams said. "A lot of people, but I'm just the only one man enough to get up here and say anything about it, talk to ya'll as a man and discuss and issue that obviously in my opinion is an issue in our starts [to games].
"But again, I'm just employee 26 and whatever they deem necessary to get us ready for Sunday is whatever it is. If we have to find energy from outside sources to start games quick, then we've got to do it. But right now, the way we're doing it, it's not conducive to success."
Williams said that he has addressed his concern to the coaching staff.
"We take a lot of reps. It's taxing on your body. It's difficult and you have to find that energy. We've been able to muscle through that, fight through that as a team but there are some modifications that need to be made.
"Again, I'm just employee 26 but I know how to take care of my body, how to get ready for the game and the way we're doing it right now, it isn't conducive to success."
As far as what happened during the game goes, Williams blamed the blown coverage on the Jackson touchdown on not having safety help over the top.
"It upset me," Williams said of Jackson's big play. "It upset me because I was expecting help in a situation where I thought I had safety help and I turned around and there wasn't any help behind me.
"We have to be smarter out there on the field, it's that simple. It was a spot where a guy cut, he was cut and when they cut like that, they tend to run deep balls. I was trying to do my job. I lured him into a funneling situation to the safety, but there wasn't a safety there."
Williams is certainly known for being outspoken, but even by his standards, his words carried some extra vitriol after Sunday's game and it will be interesting to hear Kelly's response at his day after press conference Monday afternoon.
Rips the coaching staff then rips his teammate after he gets smoked.
It's unbelievable.

Yep - it's bad enough that he comes out and rips the coaches after a win. I can almost respect that. But he got his ass absolutely toasted on that play (and about a dozen others) and rather than man up and say, "yep, he beat me plain and simple" he throws Nate Allen (who royally sucks, btw) under the bus. That's just a punk move. Either you accept responsibility for your zesty play and try to get better, or you move the farg on. No room on this team for defeatist me-first prima donna bitches. All in or all out.
trade cary for pimp
Also for the record I have no problem with the hit on Foles. You just threw a pick, keep your head up Lindros.
I actually agree with this in principle. However, it's a penalty and they enforced it just as they should have.
its been a rule for a few years, actually
watch the play again. foles was slowing down because the play was over. its close but the wsh db's knee is on the ground before foles gets hit. it was a cheap, dirty play.

im fine with it being legal, hypothetically. but regardless it was a total cheap shot.
then again if logan does it to cousins im probably celebrating...though admitting it was totally dirty.
Also, could Cary Williams be any more unreliable. I mean if I had to rely on him, it would be to suck at critical points of the game. And now he's whining about working too hard. Please shut up.

Re the officiating, the ex-stripe from the league was ripping them a new one over and over on the broadcast. I was kinda shocked at how forthright he was.
Whatever the case, they missed about a half dozen helmet to helmet shots and had several challenges to obvious fargups.
Not a good day for the crew.
Need Kelce's injury to not be serious. Peters is obviously back next week. Lane the week following. If Kelce can play the line should start resembling itself after this week.
Barbre is entirely irrelevant. Mathis will be back next year.
Team is still missing key players on D before seriously talking about a SB IMO, but I'm pretty convinced Chip's system on O is gold at this point.
stud wr then six OL in the 2015 draft
I don't think any team is equipped to be playing their fifth string OLineman, but yeah they need to draft another one or two next year. Kelce & Johnson are young. Going to need to start planning to eventually replace the other 3, though Peters still seems like he has his athleticism. I'm more concerned about 24/26.

mathis coming back is a question. they arent going to pay him a lot. they dont value the guard spot that much. up to mathis if he wants to be caked or he wants a hometown lowball offer.
Need a stud pass rusher before WR. I agree E_L that Chip's system is gold, I just worry his window isn't that big before the league catches up and they won't be able to put together a SB caliber roster before then. Optimistically I think they still need 2 years.

I thought they missed some holds, some push-offs, and some helmet-to-helmet, but nothing too out of the ordinary and nothing that majorly disrupted the game. And they handled the big fight pretty well and got things under control which is not always a given. Last week's game was called way better as a whole, but the things they screwed up were much more serious.

Could well be, I didn't see those other games. I think the fight was handled poorly though. They couldn't even get the correct players ejected and their teams right and needed NY to help. Worse though is they didn't corral T Williams and others away from Foles and the doctors attending him on the ground, and it almost spilled over onto them. How that back judge missed the Sproles face mask that ripped his head around when he was looking right at it, only called it after the crowd went nuts etc. - then called a horse collar?!?. Many others too, but yeah, I can see where there may not have been the outright game changing blunders in other games. Still, all in all, definitely between F and F-.

but i had the feeling before the year that SF was finished and lookie here they are 1-2
@SF after that game is a brutal spot with SF needing a W badly. They win that and they're 6-0 going into the bye.
they are decimated by injuries and might end up stinking when all is said and done....but a win there next week is HUGE

i agree
its a house money game for the eagles...if they lose its kinda of expected based on all the obvious things. but if they pull out a win, you gotta think there's something just special with this group.
agreed

i can't believe the 150lb receiver with a bad shoulder didn't jump into a brawl with 300lb linemen. crazy
Skins fans don't think that was a cheap shot. If the play wasn't just about over and Foles was running full boar towards the guy trying to make a tackle I'd agree, but there were 5 other Eagles standing there and he was 10-15 yards from the play. The intention was to get a cheap shot on the QB, had nothing to do with the play. I hope Baker gets fined and maybe suspended.

Meanwhile Shady who was probably concussed is right in the mix as well as their DBs. Deseans a little bitch...type of dude who starts shtein then has his boys fight for him.
plus he isnt even upset the skins lost cause he got his stats.
Well, everyone pretty much knew he was going to burn the Eagles, I'm just glad they were able to win the game. Let's see what happens now for the rest of the season.
On Eagles talk on CSN they broke down the plays Marcus Smith was in. Ouch. He would half blitz then drop back into coverage, was slow to the ball, looked completely lost.
So he's like Casey Matthews only with room for improvement.
If I had to chose I'd probably go with Matthews at this point, at least he somewhat knows the defensive plays.
I feel about Matthews how you feel about farging windmills.
I never want to see his retarded mongrel face on my team ever again. He sucks he sucks he sucks.
Knows the plays and can't do anything about them when he's in position because he misses tackles
So he should play in the secondary?
He should juggle hand grenades with the pins pulled.

I thought the hit on Foles was legit. A) You're a QB...why run toward the play? 2) If you don't want to get hit on a football field, lay down on the ground.

HELLO I tried to tell y'all I did nothing wrong take that #eaglesfans and to everyone else who else...
I deserve a public apology for getting ejected and talked about by you commentators for just doing my job #knowtherules
i gots no problems with that. yeah it was a dirty hit but it wasn't illegal. they threw a few punches like real men, now let it go and move on.

total cheap shot but thats the game...he got attacked by peters, as he should. and he should be on the look out for a cheap shot next time they play.

I bet we all know what Foles is praying for.
the block was illegal...you can argue whether it should be legal but you cant hit a defenseless player anymore...theres even a rule for hitting a defenseless qb in a spot like that
seems like theres a penalty on almost every interception return now for a block just like that
yeah, i'm not sure why it's now being ruled legal, it was illegal by the way the rules are written. and this is a stupid wip mouthbreather talking point but.... can you imagine if that was peyton or brady?
speaking of wip and other quarterbacks can you imagine those callers if this was fletcher cox on kirk cousins....to a man they would all be screaming about how soft the nfl has become and that you can even blow in a qb's ear without getting a penalty
someone tweet back to baker that his apology was already given on the scoreboard when the clock showed zeros.
I am surprised that Vincent ruled as he did considering it is in the rules and considering they fine for just about everything - and he was up front and close to Hugh when he got slammed for $35k when he murdered Jim "who the hell is Shane" Miller
if the nfl has been consistent about anything lately it's been it's inconsistency.
It's a perfectly legal penalty that was enforced on the field and ignored by the league office.
Hysterical.
i think they even messed up the call on the field to be honest....no way baker should have been kicked out
Pretty cool, find yourself at the game

wasn't he kicked out for the fight and not the play.
the refs call for the ejection was on the play.
They also ejected Trent Williams and later corrected it to Jason Peters. They had no idea what was going on.
seeing williams flip out over his number being called was awesome though.
also I didnt see the nfl's explination but how isnt it a penalty when clearly the runner is already hitting the ground when baker nails foles 10yrds away ?

he's too busy on twitter defending baker to reply.
i thought he was whining about how none of the receivers could get open, even though they just won them a game
You're thinking of Cary Williams, who whined that receivers couldn't get open if he wasn't so bad tired.

the system gets them open...watch the all 22's and tell me how many times a wr beats his man one on one versus either a defensive breakdown or route scheming that fools the defense...its few and far between
anyway if the weakness at wr is exposed it will come in the playoffs altho seattle and arizona reg season games will be interesting...it certainly wont happen against the wash secondary

Chip breaks down the offense on his local show. It's amazing how much attention Defenses play to shady. Biggest reason the WRs get open is because they sell the run play and the receivers run free. That seam route is money if the safety bites.

until that stops what the farg is there to bitch about
because it can be even better....i dont care about jacksonville wash and indy in september
i wanna go a few more levels and win a superbowl...with even one stud receiver this offense could go bonkers
you are never satified.
i can see it now, the eagles beat the colts in the super bowl and you call it phoney cause it wasnt against denver.
you are a complete dope if you are satisfied with beating those three teams in a random september.....they havent won a title since you were in college
i'm definitely not satified

they are 3-0 and cant win the superbowl for 5 months
homerism at its finest
getting upset on sept 25 because not everyone is 100% big picture happy by beating three teams who are combined 2-7 = massive homerism
I'm happy that they've won the 3 games. I'd be happier if they looked dominant doing it. They've had stretches where they look competent, and stretches where they look incompetent. Maybe they get a running game when the line comes back. Maybe the defense gels and doesn't look soft for long stretches. That would be great. I'll settle for the wins, but I'd like to see a whole game where they look like a complete team. What's wrong with that?

i just dont think thats possible until the defense is fixed...but thats even more reason imo that their offense needs to be even better and why the wr's are a valid concern
if they had a top 5 defense then yeah maybe you can get away with having a threesome of mack kkk and matthews against the best teams....but id rather not have to worry about it
Not a ton of reason to worry about the WRs before you worry about the line. Foles wouldn't regularly get time to hit Jerry Rice, let alone some distant Rice relative.
...and the defense is what it is. The ceiling there seems pretty low.

in the long run im fine with the lines pass protect and it should only get better either by guys returning or the back ups meshing....as an OL you dont need to get your man for five seconds in this offense...its bubble screens and quick seam routes and te's...that rely on the qb making his read and firing...they dont even have anyone that can get deep on a time consuming route (which by the way is hurting the run game)
the run blocking is where they have been terrible and must improve
lol
They haven't been getting the ball out quickly on the passes, and there are no lanes to run. The line is decimated at the moment, but I would have thought they would have adjusted to shorter passes in the meantime. Whatever. It would be great to have better everything.
worst 3-0 team ever.

foles holds onto the ball too long for sure...but thats on him not the line...should every offense have a great pass blocking OL of course...but chips system relies on it less than most....at oregon he had average at best offensive lines...but he surrounded them with athletes and most importantly a system that worked....whereas with a run game theres little a system can do to overcome zesty run blocking
man people sure do get upset when someone says their favorite team isn't' awesome at everything
homerz dont play dat
