Lame.
But but but 12th man!
Denver is doing the same thing. Seahawks are only accepting credit cards from like 6 states + Canada. Denver is accepting from 8 states I think.
I think it's pretty corny. Fans live all over the farging place these days. I wasn't planning on going to the game anyway, so whatevs.
Look, I'm running out of teams to like here. The 49ers can't play themselves in the super bowl.
I can't remember the last time I was so indifferent when it comes to the conf championships. Usually there's at least 1 team I can't stand or maybe even a player or 2 that I could take pleasure in rooting against, but none of that exists for me this year.
If I was indifferent before this I'm not now. Go Niners. And Denver but mostly because I hate Brady worse than a fat girl hates spandex.
so who does everyone got today
i like both road teams even tho i dont think that can happen
New England and San Fran
errand boy thinks it can happen!
i might go money lines hard today
No betting for me today...I'm waiting for SB weekend and then going hard at the books in Vegas.
I'd like to see SEA-DEN for best offense against best defense.
But I am starting to get Seattle fatigue because the news people never shut the farg up about the loud crowd.
I wouldn't be mad at SF-DEN or SF-NE either.
I think the Niners have the edge today because of their offense.
Anyone but Seattle.
NO MORE FIRST TIMERS BEFORE THE BIRDS.
Can't remember the last time that both conf champ games featured the 4 best teams from the reg season. I really like both road teams as well, but my brain is programmed to tell me that both of them cant win.
I don't really have a horse in the AFC game and don't give a flying farg about the NFC. So there.
i actually think san fran is a better team than seattle....and i know its not kosher to say this but i think russell wilson is a fraud
the question is can san fran win at seattle after their last month.....at arizona....at green bay....at carolina....now at seattle
thats ridiculous
San Fran is definitely the better team, in terms of total balance. And Kap is a little better than Wilson, though I don't think Wilson is a total fraud.
Seattle is a hard out at home though and I think the last 4 or 5 games these 2 teams have played there, Seattle has won by an average of like 24 pts.

1998 had a 15 win team and two 14 win teams in the conf finals
im probably alone in this but i absolutely love brady and belichek....i generally hate athletes coaches and teams that are really good until they venture into legendary all time great status then i want them to win every year....so im rooting for new england at least as much as i could ever root for a team that isnt mine

I don't think Wilson is a fraud but I don't like him being included in the upper echelon of QBs because to me he hasn't put a team on his back and won it by himself yet. Running game not working and the defense has an off day? I need to see him shoulder those obstacles and throw/run over someone and will them to a win. Has he even been in a shootout yet where every possession relies on him? I don't think so.
Agreed on Brady and Belichick.
What I like so much about Belichick is that he isn't in the conventional NFL coach mindset. He'll go for it on his own 30 and doesn't give a shtein. He also identifies the opposition's best threat to beat him and will focus on that player rather than stay true to some system.
LOL at loving Belicheat.
apparently cheating only matters in the superbowl....cause they cheated when they won a title but they didnt cheat when they went 16-0 and made two superbowls
or make the conf final this year with that garbage ass team
in conclusion dont be a simpleton romey...you are better than this
I want the Broncos to win...there's no reason for Eli to have more Super Bowl Rings than Peyton
Even if the Pats don't make it to or win the SB, this season has been total vindication for the whole spygate thing, imo. What they've done this year is nothing short of miraculous. Unless they're still cheating. That would totally explain it.
Quote from: ice grillin you on January 19, 2014, 12:48:47 PMim probably alone in this but i absolutely love brady and belichek....
Nah, you're not alone. Pats fans can suck a fleshpop, and Kraft is an all time terrible human being, but these two are the greatest ever. They're cold blooded killers.
I'm hoping for Denver/SanFran, but I think it'll be New England/Seattle.

i dont know a whole lot about him but ive only heard great things
I suspect it's because he has a gazillion dollars and genuinely good and decent people typically don't acquire that kind of wealth because they're too busy being, you know, nice.
And I've been a fan of the entire Brady/Bilicheck era other than 2004. I think that had any other team beaten the Eagles in the SB that year, I'd still be harboring lots of hate and discontent for that franchise for the next 30 years, but I really can't bring myself to hate much of anything/anyone to do with that team. They just know what they're doing better than any other team in the league.
pretty much
and yeah the eagles lost to a superior team so it doesnt really hurt me
losing to farging tampa and carolina was way worse
hell the lightning going thru the flyers to a cup hurts more

He's an archetypal American capitalist, a money bully. The incident I know the most about, from a family member who was deep in the negotiations, involves a paper mill he owns in a tiny town in Connecticut, and specifically the quality of the water going into it and then out of it. Long story short, he used his power to secure a sweetheart deal, which he then turned into an even better deal by pitting his fleet of top dollar lawyers against the town's lone, part time guy. Eventually, he extracted millions from, and cost millions more to a town of very modest means.
He also farged Hartford hard over the stadium thing, but that's long ago and not nearly as cynical and mean spirited.
not making light of it but so pretty much this....

Even I was more pissed about this than I was about the Pats beating the Eagles.
If you put him on a scale of billionaire sports owners from Cuban to Danny, Kraft would occupy a space close to the latter.
Pats and 49ers today
I said Denver/Seattle in July and I'm sticking with it
Think
Don't care who wins either way. The only non Eagle I root for in the NFL is Marshawn Lynch but I can't bring myself to root for the Seahawks. I think the Pats ground it out, and throw it to Edelman/Amendola to move the chains. The Niners are a more violent team then the Seahawks and Kaep has more weapons to throw it to on Offense.
i dont see how brady doesnt throw the ball 45-50 times.....denvers secondary is devastated and its not really that good when healthy
They seem to be doing okay so far.
just sayin...

as a bronco or as a qb?
hes already ten times the qb and will never truly be a bronco
as a qb
where does he rank if he wins another? he might top the all time list
its so hard to judge qb's cause the league has changed so much over the decades
steve young will always be my goat....i laugh so hard at what hed do in todays nfl
but an all time list still needs to be in existence and if peyton wins another i think that puts him top 3
Mike Miss ranked his top 5 all time on Friday and asked for feedback...they were
Elway
Montana
Brady
Manning
Favre
You can only go after 80 for the most part since the nfl has changed so much and none of us remember the qbs from the 70
A lot of people had a problem with Favre as I do. He had the numbers and a title but the last 10 years of his career were marred by choking in big moments. A few people thought Aikman should be #5...I just don't see it. Young was my pick as #5.
favre only won 1 and stopped giving a shtein around 2002...hes a pos
joe has always been my boy but if manning wins then i think hes gotta top the list
farve was a much better qb than elway
forget football there might not be a more overrated athlete in sports history than john elway
I don't think much of Favre or Elway. I'd probably put Brees ahead of both of them.
Detmer
Manning
Montana
Brady
Marino
Young or Moon
Peyton Manning is the best QB all-time and that's true even if he somehow loses this game. If you weight playoff outcomes more than I do, it's Montana or Brady.
I put Elway and Marino in the next tier down.
jeff george has a higher career completion % than john elway
My top two are Brady and Montana. Both could do it in the regular season and the post season. I give the edge to Brady because he's done more with less.
It isn't a really good sight to see a guy's arm hanging and shaking like that, but he's probably fine.
jim nance: that story was completely overblown this week but im gonna bring it up and talk about it anyway

At least he made an ass on himself on the field per say and not raping, killing, drunk driving?
