Really like this one. Him and Fletcher are good signings. 6'1 so along with everything else, it looks like the Chip loving size thing is for real. 3 years 17M
I need a picture to believe he exists. Also, who is his father, and what does he do?
3/$17M.....$1M less than KC gave Sean Smith

I like this pick-up then. Some fire under that guy. Even if it is directed at refs, its more than I can say about anyone on the team since Dawk.
I also dont like this - the guy got paid because he was all over the ball in the playoffs. Larry Brown, anyone?
Larry Brown was Superbowl only from shteinhead Steelers QB.
This dude went up against rookie bad-ass Luck, Manning, Brady, and Kaepernick.
Not too shabby. I'll say he doesn't or won't easily get phased from now on.
QuoteWilliams agreed to a three-year, $17 million contract that includes $10.5 million in guaranteed money in the first two years of the deal, according to his agent, Harold Lewis.
Williams, who had 75 tackles, four interceptions and 17 pass deflections last season for the Ravens, can earn another $2 million in incentives.
Williams landed with the Eagles in a market flooded with good cornerbacks one year after declining the Ravens' three-year, $15 million contract offer.
"We're excited," Lewis told The Baltimore Sun. "Cary is leaving one great team and is excited to join another great team. The Eagles are a great organization. It's a perfect fit."
seen a lot of this cat....hes long which allows him to get to a lot of balls but isnt a huge playmaker....but hes also really lean and struggles at any kind of press coverage
i think a good comparison would be to bobby taylor as far as his overall skills (but smaller)
Williams on Maclin after his TD vs the Ravens this year. Not that impressed...

at the end he kinda sounded like chris tucker in friday when he was goin off about "janet jackson"
I thought he sounded a little Chris Rock-ish, but yeah he was heated...
If he's an NFL caliber defender of any stripe, welcome aboard. There's still a lot of underbrush on this D that needs to be cleared out. Step 1 in the rebuild is to get a roster full of players who actually belong in the league.
Loving the focus on quantity so far. Important to eliminate the liabilities that every semi-competent team exploits. They don't need All-Pros, they need a foundation first. Where they do need some bigtime players is the draft.
I am lukewarm on this move. If he can be another Bobby T...cool. I hope he carries that pissy attitude because that is what WE need.
on 97.5 with Mikey Miss earlier today (http://www.975thefanatic.com/teams/eagles/blogentry.aspx?BlogEntryID=10517593)
About a minute into the interview, he tells Mikey Miss "hold up, I gotta take this...it's the Eagles" and hangs up, and this clip starts about 30 seconds later when he calls back
Williams was asked at the PC who he models his game after, and he said Nnamdi. I guess someone snickered cause he followed up with "Take it as a joke, I don't care. I'm here to win."
He looks too much like Victor Cruz for my liking

lol
For someone who routinely claims he doesn't care what anyone thinks, this guy sure seems to spend a lot of his free time bitching about anyone who criticizes him.
saying you don't care what people think=you care a lot what people think
i love this guy now
hes taking on the entire system of those pointless ota's which no other sport has and which do nothing. its the offseason and he wants to hang out and smoke a blunt. what the farg. aint your business.
if hes not ready to go on sunday trash him then
If he had not just been a off season signing then fine. Its a respect thing i guess. Some people get it, some dont. Ultimately MDS is right, if he shows up and can actually play, then who gives a shtein.

Agreed 100%. If people want them to be mandatory, make them mandatory. Maybe the coaches want players to be there, but I'm not their coach. As a fan I don't give a farg about anything these guys choose to do in June unless it lands them dead, in jail, or suspended.

not just an offseason signing but an entire new era is starting...everything matters right now
The only way you get me to show up for work is to pay me. I don't do voluntary.
Good for Williams.
not good....GREAT for williams....bad for the eagles
but in this case i care more about the team/city than the player
farg the Eagles and Philly too.
thats my heart son
you have to understand he moved to baltimore and claimed it as his own
was he actually from philly
hipsters are never really from anywhere but no
You're a shameful sinner in the eyes of :CF, Dio
Me and Cary, brothers from another mother.
I love this guy.

QuoteI guess they were on a hot streak, and they want some calls.
I'm just gonna go ahead and say that I wouldn't mind if Cary Williams were cut outright. He farging sucks.
Applies to just about everyone in the secondary. As bad as he is, the safeties are worse.
I like that he has balls. Just wish he wasn't so afraid to get beat deep because he gives receivers too much of a cushion. His bad attitude is needed on this d.
Pfft. I don't care what his attitude is as long as he's stopping fargers from catching passes. That's his job.
ozzie newsome wouldnt let a good corner walk

ozzie newsome wouldnt let a good corner walk
especially after letting the best safety in the history of the game walk too.
williams is a loud mouth and he's average at best. not exactly an ideal combination.
QuoteCary Williams, when asked if he's grown to hate Dallas yet: "I tend to kind of hate everybody."
Like I said before...his foul attitude was needed on that defense
Quote"I don't care. Jerry Jones could suit up. Jason Garrett could suit up. Suit 'em up. It doesn't matter to me. We're here to contend for the playoffs. We're here to win the Super Bowl. We're on a mission and they're in our way. Period."
-- Eagles cornerback Cary Williams, on who will start as Cowboys' QB
Ugh... shut up, already.
Has he thanked his hands for being so good yet?
Nothing wrong with what he said...
No, there isn't. If he's saying it to a teammate or someone else in the locker room. Shooting his farging mouth off to a reporter is idiotic. How many times do players have to post bulletin-board material before they realize it doesn't nothing but incite the other team? Just shut up, already.
I like his attitude...
And the Cowboys are so poor that bulletin board material isn't going to help them.

From what I remember of Kyle Orton, Garrett suiting up might actually be pretty solid advice.
audi 5000 g
more time to pick out sconces
Thank god. farg Cary Williams.
Good riddance to that mouthy piece of toast.
Addition by subtraction, for sure.
Not sure. Although he wasn't good, he was the best (can't count Boykin because these idiots don't think he can play outside) we had. Can we really find 2 starting CB's in the draft or FA?
Waaah!

the last time they tried that they got cary williams and bradley fletcher so probably not
Gotta think (and hope) they'll let Boykin run on the outside now. Or maybe they believe Carroll will be on one side and TBD on the other with Boykin in the slot.
I wouldn't stand on a mountaintop and scream a defense of Cary but replacing three out of four secondary players is tough. And Cary wasn't awful.
i wouldnt classify it as easy but safety positions are not difficult to at minimum adequetly fill (altho the eagles are trying their hardest to disprove this theroum)
however you can easily go 5 years without a acquiring a single good+ corner....filling two corner spots at that level in one year is virtually impossible
You can't build a championship team based on fear. If the fear is you can't get rid of Cary Williams because he's the best of the worst, it's a loser philosophy. farg that toast. Last season was as bad as I've seen the Eagles in terms of their corner situation in recent memory. It's only up from here.

i dont know if your memory goes back as far as 2012 but it was worse
nnamdi was eating lunch in the novacare parking lot...drc cared less about the eagles than dio and something called colt coleman was the strong safety
Yep - 2012 was a smoldering hot mess
I tend to have gaps in my memory caused by traumatic events. I'm pretty sure that season was traumatic. I just don't remember.
I don't care what year was worse. They all sucked. You couldn't count on Williams or Fletcher, ever. And the bigger the spot, the more apt they were to get burned. Consistently inconsistent. Too inconsistent to even work around. Now, will they be better this year? Can't say. Will they be appreciably worse? No. If they could find a way to be appreciably worse, even that would be morbidly entertaining.
Quote from: Zanshin on March 03, 2015, 03:27:19 PMIf they could find a way to be appreciably worse, even that would be morbidly entertaining.
here, here
why is that f****** ass clown still on the team? He did everything he could to single-handedly lose that second game to Dallas with thosedumbass penalties. Get rid of him.
So maybe this is all leading up to another Lito/Sheldon/M. Lewis type draft. A++

They arent gonna have that many picks after they trade for mm
so they need two starting cb's and a safety now. no problem, chipper's got this. :sly
They needed those things anyway, now there's more sweet, sweet cap room to do it.
