Title: Eagles-Cowboys Part II
Post by: Rome on December 02, 2012, 10:24:12 AM
First time in over a decade I couldn't care less about the outcome of an Eagles/Cowboys game.  I guess I still want the Eagles to beat them, because farg the Cowboys to Hell, but still, it's probably better if they lose.

So...

Errands tonight or are we watching?

I'm having an early Xmas with my Nana tonight since I'll be in Kansas for the holiday.  Game will be on, but it'll probably just be background noise.  I'm sure I'll take a glance at the tv every now and then but that's about it.

Plus it's a win-win game. Either one game closer to a good draft position and a full cleaning of the Eagles house, or driving a spike through any remaining ridiculous Cowboys playoff talk. Plus due to all the injuries it's another chance to see if the young guys on the team are worth keeping around through the purge.

Graham's been good the past month and is the best DE they've had this season. He's in on a lot of plays and generates pressure.

I'm glad they look good and would love to see them beat Dallas and all but aside from the NFC East teams I hope these morons don't go on a run. Not that I think they'll keep Reid but I want a top 5 pick.

Now we're spoiled because shady is the best in the league at that but If Brown is ever going to be effective the game is going to have to slow down for him a bit. A great rb either had quick moves or great vision...the truly gifted ones have both. He has neither at this time. He's not as good as Buckhalter who was really underrated but he's better than Eldra Buckley. The skill set is there now he just has to develop.

I'd keep Marsh as a dime guy but you can't get rid of everyone. I think DRC could be a good keep but only if he has a good coach that can max his ability and nix the penalties and bad tackling.

Right now I'd agree. There's nothing that stands out about him, he's not very accurate and isn't savvy enough to pick apart a D.

Still, he has a big arm and some decent tools. Maybe he's a career backup but at least he's young with some potential.

I wish this were a deeper QB draft. It's hilarious listening to sports talk radio in Philly and the people who want Alex Smith.

You don't think he played well tonight?  Thought he made a lot of really good throws and showed a lot of poise. This current drive isn't looking as good with the pick he gift wrapped that got dropped and the fumble on the sack, but for about 56 min I thought he had a good game.

Mine was the same as Phreak's, but cooler because I got mine first. Other than that, I have a Corey Simon green, and some white Foreman Mills knockoffs.

You see people wearing them in the games.

I love the Kelly Green, but I like the Midnight Green unis as well.  Obviously I prefer the ones I grew up with but I can't say I hate the current ones at all.  I've got a bunch of player jerseys in midnight green.  However, I am currently boycotting the wear of any Eagles clothing or jerseys that features the Eagles head logo or midnight green colors....basically, I'm not wearing anything that has Lurie's fingerprints on it.  It's a meaningless gesture on my part but I won't wear anything that represents "Lurie's Eagles" until Reid and Roseman are gone.  Until then, I'm only wearing the few Kelly Green butter joints that still fit me.

Yeah I love the kelly's but also like the midnight green as well. I also like the black jersey's too.

I would love to see them go back to the kelly full time though. Those jersey's with the silver pants and black shoes are uni porn

As long as they never wear green/green or UCLA jerseys again, I don't care too much. I prefer the kelly green to the current, which is slightly more blue than green, but I can live with it.

Wearing black alternate jerseys against the Falcons, Saints, Raiders, Steelers or even Ravens is the best idea ever.

How anyone can watch that video and prefer the Linc/Linc crowd/new uniforms/and Reid era players to what happened in that video is baffling. Someone should sit Lurie down and make him watch it until it gets through his skull. The look on Parcells face is priceless.

Our seats were in that end zone and I can attest to how loud it was that day.

And I agree 1000% with SD's post.

Just change the rags back and literally 80% of the mess that's unfolded will be forgiven.  Not forgotten, obviously, but still...

unless the rules have changed you have to first put in a request with the nfl for a uniform change by march of the current season....then there is a two year approval process....so unless the eagles put in a request in one of the last two years the earliest they could go kelly green would be sept 2015

Seth Joyner went off that game.  Played out of his mind.  I think it's Merln Olsen doing the color on that video and he had it wrong saying Clyde Simmons deflected the pass.  It was Joyner.

Olsen was on NBC for years with Dick Enberg.  He went to CBS in the early 90's for a year or two and was teamed with Stockton.  I always thought Olsen was a great color guy.   I believe that was when NBC brought in Bob Trumpy to be Enberg's colorman.

Man, those were interesting teams, at the very least. I hate the current team with more of a passion than I'm used to. I get a little disgusted every time I put on an Eagles-branded garment...and I have a lot of those.
