If I remember correctly, this guy has a great beard.
If I also remember correctly, I stopped giving a shtein at about 10PM last Monday.
lol GF...a genuine lol.
Yeah let's not sign the guy three or four weeks ago. Lets farging sign him after going 3-6
is andy reid dead yet?
Problem. Solved.
Can they get 4 more guys off the street too?
Bring back Nick Cole, Jamaal Jackson, Tra Thomas and Hank Fraley
howard mudd guy....btw howard mudd is a disaster
Getting another start over the fireman next week
Watkins should not be on any NFL roster next year.
i rememeber when he was drafted someone (probably easy or romey) telling me to settle down about the pick and then posted a link to some site saying he was the most nfl ready player in the draft
I thought the general consensus was that they needed a RG badly and this guy was there but nobody was excited about it, and a few said it reeked of Andy's "I'm smarter than you" mentality again (which looks like it backfired for the millionth time)
i dont think people truly realized how bad of a pick it was when they took him.....the guy had only been playing organized football of ANY kind for less than five years when they picked him...and two of those years was at some junior college in idaho or some other god forsaken place

I'm in that group. I knew it wasn't a good pick....at best I was 'meh'....but yeah, I didn't think it was going to be as bad as it's turned out to be.

I really don't know why this wasn't a bigger deal at the time. It wasn't hidden info or anything. I guess that even though I know that Reid isn't the smartest guy in the room, I keep hoping that one of these days he will be.
it was a big deal to me....i was beside myself....but as usual i got yelled at for being hysterical
the one thing everyone agreed upon at the time of it happening was howie being hired...i dont think even the biggest homer backed that one
Howie being hired and Castillo being promoted were both unanimous in hate I believe.
oh yeah def...forgot about juanny.....all these hideous moves start to run together after a while
I think I viewed Watkins as a solid pick. Not super excited but thought he'd be a guy they plugged in and ya didn't hear his name at all.
Oh how I long for the Tra-Mayberry-Jackson/Fraley-Andrews-Runyan days

But they haven't won a game since Castillo got fired.
Not defending Castillo as a DC, but he really was a scapegoat. Franchise done him wrong. How do you hire someone unqualified for the job and then fire them for poor performance? Also, at this point I can't even say that the scheme was any more problematic than the players. If nothing else, they both sucked equally.
I don't really view it as the franchise done him wrong though. At least not if the stories of Juan lobbying hard for the job are true. If that's case it is his own fault. A year ago I wouldn't have thought Andy would just come up with something that hair brained all by himself without Juan pushing for it, but now I could believe anything.
I gave that draft an F and it looks like I was right on the money. As bad as the Watkins pick was the Jarrett one was that much worse. How bad is your draft when the kicker you took in the 4th round is your best pick.
Watkins has no heart for football, he's a goofy Canadian farg who'd rather put out fires and chock it up with the common folk.
the ultimate compentency test of this franchise as well as the forseeable future of the franchise will all be determined by whether lurie keeps howie as gm or not...nothing else matters if hes kept on

Agreed
They need a front office and coaching cleanse. Lurie is still stuck in early/mid 90's mode when he took over the team and had dreams of turning the Eagles into the next 49ers. He hasn't evolved as an owner and deserves as much of the blame as Reid and Roseman do. He gets extra hate points for not switching back to the Kelly Greens.
what legitimate coach is even going to come and work for that pip squeak
Nofargs Collectaczech.

Howie as a business-focused GM is not a bad thing I think: contracts, making money, running the franchise, handling logistics, etc, he is probably pretty good at.
He is awful at evaluating football talent.
If they hire a great scouting executive along with a new coach and give him some actual power I could see them being successful with that set-up.
Agreed. This team has done a horrible job of taking guys out of spots they were fine and into spots where they were not qualified. Howie and Juan are the two obvious examples.
If Howie is still on board as a cap guy, accountant, etc and Juan is back as OL coach, but a new coach and GM are running shtein, I'm a happy guy.
howies dream has always been to be in PP...cant see him being stripped of football duties and him staying with the team
hes either where he is now or hes gone....and i think hes gone...pray

I agree, I'd like to see the Walrus move up to the GM spot than Lurie keep Howie in place.
