Title: BBQ/Grilling Thread
Post by: PhillyPhanInDC on June 05, 2012, 03:12:53 PM
A lot of talk about Weber's, grilling, and the like in the Good Eats thread, figured since we're rolling up on Summer and everyone will be roasting flesh on an open flame soon enough we it would be nice to have all of this information in one place.

My favorite rig:

Admittedly, I like your thread better because it starts off with pictures.

QuoteMy buddy has this: http://www.weber.com/explore/grills/performer-series/performer-2

the gas ignition speeds up the time it takes to get the coals up to speed.  Roughly 10 minutes and you're up and running.  Cleanup is easy since the coals are contained right in the bottom which pops out of place.  They run about 250, so it isnt cheap, but its one of the best out there, if not the easiest.

echoing seabiscuit's comments.  This grill is amazing.  We had the older version that lasted 6 years.  My parents got one at the same time and it's still going 10 years later which considering the beating the grills take with the weather here is amazing.  Charcoal lights up in no time with the gas burner and yes clean up is a piece of cake.  We ended up trading up to a bigger gas grill but I wouldn't mind getting this one again.

Popular mechanics had a great project to create a smoker for under 120 bucks in parts.  It's really got me intrigued as far as a weekend project to do when its cold in the garage while drinking beers

Yeah, I was.  Not sure why the entire link didn't copy though.  Oh well.
