Title: What a farging rotten day.
Post by: Geowhizzer on February 02, 2012, 07:37:48 PM
Found out this morning that a former student of mine, a 17 year old girl, was struck by a car and killed yesterday.  One of the nicest girls I've ever taught.

Got to work, and got a call on my cell from my sister.  My uncle dropped dead of a heart attack.

farg... just farg.

This thread makes me kinda happy.  My day wasn't half so bad.  Oh well, there's always tomorrow!

I figured this was a good place to put it...but right now if you go to google news, you can see a video of a guy who's bottom half of his face was blown off from a rocket attack in Syria...from the nostrils down...and you can see the flesh just hanging there.

Geo...I guess I'm trying to make you feel better?

My condolences with your uncle's passing, Geo. And with your student, there is always that extra layer of loss when it is a kid. As much as it sucks, encountering death can make us more human, more real. Hope you have some real good things come into your life before long, things tend to balance in the long run.

It depends on your outlook in life. Maybe there are the exceptions of the most unfortunate and destitute but for us here, in the long run we can create a miserable or reasonably satisfying life. It's up to us.

You should get a brain in your head, it would help with understanding how life works.

I peed a little. Which made me fart a little. Poetically, is it the same?

Third one happened over the weekend.  Former teacher, just retired last year.  Dropped dead of a heart attack, no prior signs of heart problems.
