Title: Week Ten 2011
Post by: Diomedes on November 10, 2011, 08:58:53 PM
Raiders @ Chargers on a thursday night.  Excitement.

All of a sudden, it's past the mid way point in the season.  Just the other day it was strike this, lockout that.  Soon, it will be over.

Speaking of stupid coaching decisions...

Atlanta just went for it on 4th and inches.

On their own 30.

In overtime.

Unbelievable call by Smith there.

That may be an all time worst call there. What are you thinking?!

Tebow finished 2/8, 69 yds, and Denver lost both McGahee and Moreno, and they still won at KC

Akers with another long FG and a great onsides kick.

So glad they let him go

Henery's had one bad game and has otherwise not done anything wrong.

They might be 4-5 with him. But they'd be 9-0 with McNabb!

Is this a joke? He doesn't have the range to hit one past 45 yards, that's why the Eagles go for it on 4th when they're near the 30 rather than taking the points. Akers has been money this season. He's been making 50 yarders look routine.

I haven't seen anything out there about him not having the range. didn't he have decent range in college?

I'll reserve judgment on him for when he does something great or terrible. So far he's been a non-story.

No, his range has always been terrible. His thing in college was nailing everything inside 40 yards...which didn't completely translate to the NFL. Every time he's tried a FG 50+ he's like 5-10 yards short.

eagles thought it would be genius and ahead of the game to go with rookie punter/kicker combo in the same year.....as always they are the smartest guys in the room

Hasn't he only tried one FG over 50 yards this year? haha

He's been a non-story this year pretty much. One bad game, made everything else minus a 60+ yard attempt. ho hum

Again you don't get it. First he cost them a game this season with FGs he should be making. Second he only tried one past 50 because his range sucks. That's why they go for it so much when they're around the 30. He can't hit squat beyond that point.

I'd venture to guess that he's at the bottom of the NFL pack in touchbacks as well.  Seems to me his kickoffs rarely make it into the endzone at all, nevermind through it.

so he single handedly lost a game this year sucks at kickoffs and has limited range yet hes been a non factor

Lurie, Banner and Howie are beaming with pride

The Eagles probably should cut kickers that "single handedly" lose them games...

as for TB...23rd out of 34 kickers with double digit KO's...so lower half of the league.

Not that it matters, the more these idiots keep taking kicks out of hte endzone, the better. How dumb have returners been this year? taking it from 5 yards deep and ending up at the 10? Just take it at the 20

Perhaps, but Reid, Castillo, Vick, Maclin, Avant, Parker, Nnamdi, ASSante, DRSuck, Vick, Jackson, Matthews and the o-line have lost all the others.

In reality, you'll be thanking Napoleon Dynamite for his blunders next year when the Eagles are a couple of draft picks better than they would be if they still had Akers.

It's just funny that he's had one bad game and people are talking like he sucks and has played some large role in the Eagles sucking. And ignoring the fact that the eagles only ended up with him because the last kicker got cut because of one bad game.

Also, Henery's stats in college from long range aren't all that different from NFL kickers from long range. He made all but one of his 40_ yard attempts, and 50% of his 50+ yarders, which is the NFL average from year to year it seems.

because the NFL blows this year and is about as much fun as watching paint dry.  The Ravens have swept Pittsburgh but have lost to the Jaguars and Seattle.  yep.  Its just about who sucks the least outside of GB.
