Line is a Pk, O/U 48.
If there was ever a game where Vick is running for his life more so than ever its this one right here.
Orakpo, Kerrigan and Carriker are going to swarm his ass. If Andy wants to keep farging bunching his receivers and keep those guys close to the LOS go for it.
This is the game we probably see dream team Vince Young.
The Skins are probably the best team in what is a very, very bad NFC East. That being said it would be great to beat them and knock them down a tier.
I just can't believe Rex Grossman might have his prediction right.
So sad.

Couldn't agree more. The Skins look organized and the players are playing within the system the coaches laid out for them. The Eagles are a bunch of sloppy individuals playing like it's backyard football.
yeah but andy reid he's gonna get better at that.
It's not really a stretch for him to be doing a better job there
yeah but this time he's super serious.
This is one game in a great many years that I am NOT looking foward too.
Have a positive turnover ratio and Eagles win but just prolongs the wide 9 use and the hairy backed cheerleader coaching the Defense. :boo
QuoteEagles (pick at taterskins): only 2nd team since 1993 to be 1-4 and not be an underdog vs. a home team with a better record.
I know it's hard to buy into the taterskins, but how much worse do the Eagles have to play in order to stop getting so much "respect?"
The taterskins will win. Their D line is going to beat the shtein out of Vick, Grossman will dink and dump his way down the field to his RBs and TEs, Torrain will murder the Eagles, Gaffney and Moss will find soft spots underneath coverage...it's going to be ugly.

Agreed. I can't ever remember being so lackadaisical towards a birds/skins matchup. If it's not on tv here I can't see dragging my ass down to the sports bar at 6:30 am, eat zesty food, drink coffee that tastes like Pennzoil and listen to grown men shout out "that's my kicker! I should have started the Ravens D today, why did I play Romo?".

HA :-D Who did we piss off?
Bad teams get bad commentators.
Rosen and Billick must be thrilled too.
Not only are the eagles awful, they're awful in a way that allows mediocre and bad teams to move the ball with ease. Oh and the Birds embarrassed the Skins in primetime the last time they met. Oh and the Skins had two weeks to prepare. Massive loss this week.
Eagles are now favored in this game.
I have a bad feeling about this game. They might win and then Reid will figure a way to get this team to 8-8 and save his fat farging ass one more time.
Even when they suck, the rest of the division usually give the Eagles one interesting game each per year. Will the Eagles return the favor, or will they roll over and die?

coming from someone who wanted them to extend mcnabb 2 years ago this is not a shock
you love the status quo and meandering 10-6 or 9-7 seasons. they still got a "shot" to do that and god damn it better happen. OR ELSE.
Putting aside the fact that Cataldi was looking to rile the masses (and was successful judging by the calls afterwards)
Anyone who openly roots for their team to tank or lose is a goddamn idiot and not really a fan.
Dispute that, tough guy.
for the sake of the greater good, its what needs to be done
If the ultimate goal is to win the Super Bowl and the icehole in charge isn't capable of doing so, then yeah, I have no problem hoping they lose.
And hoping they lose is completely different than cheering against them.
im not putting on skins gear or anything but its like the 2009 season when mcnabb was beyond the point of usefulness....you just want this whole thing to end. aint about being a real fan, its about reality.
its over for andy. they cant win with him. he has to go. 8-8 or 9-7 wont get that done.
i totally understand wanting them to lose...but its not something i could do cept in extreme cases....like to get andrew luck this year would be one....but just to get rid of a coach....nah
Anything short of this team going 4-12 will not cost Andy his job. Book it.
So 5-11 gets an atta boy from Lurie?
4-7 after the clusterfarg they had to start the season? He'd get another contract extension.
its still just background noise but the spin thats begun and will get louder as the season progresses will be that next year is the year that they all along had expected everything to come together
so they expect to get three new nfl caliber linebackers, an offensive line, a defensive coordinator, new safeties and a head coach who isn't a complete bonehead during games?

Probably in 98. That's the year Dallas lost to Zona in the playoffs.
the nfl is awful this year due to the lockout.
if the eagles win this week they are in the hunt of the last WC spot (figure detroit has 5 spot on lockdown since GB is going at worst 15-1). chicago...tampa...atl....nfc east squads....lol. terrible.
they arent a good team but the league is so bad this year they can easily go 8-8 and get in and farging christ that means another year of fatso.
You gotta figure every playoff appearance probably buys Reid at least 2 more years.
Farg yeah--Jarrett Page was benched for Kurt Coleman.
They're both terrible
Coleman celebrates tackles better.
Also bounces off wideouts much better.
Call Sheldon Brown in, see if he wants to make the transition to Safety. He couldn't possibly be worse than these two.

Baldinger was on DNL this evening. He said he broke down the game tape with Diddy last night. According to him the D is even more pathetic than he originally thought. Said players are walking during plays and look like they have no desire to play. Two positives he mentioned were that he said Nate Allen played a lot better, and Brian Rolle really picked it up this week.

not guilty yall got to feel me!!
This will be a most interesting game to watch - especially as a fan of both on and off the field machinations. I am so excited to see this one play out I may watch it in real-time. Last year felt like 1995 - cunningham/mcnabb replaced by peete/vick with the ghosts of late 80's/early 90's talent firmly in rear-view mirror. Beginning of a long slide to 2000 punctuated by brief stops along the way with Watters/Detmers and other journeyman heartbreaks. Coach loses his team and Lurie makes his first and only (easy) firing.
Sunday will be a tipping point in many ways - but we know that. Big picture will this franchise have the balls to bring in the right leadership in the off season to take advantage of talent that is here, or will it slide another 5? Because these mistakes in coaching/gm judgement won't be paperer-over by even a .500 season now. Can they do it without promoting Reid "upstairs" to meddle and be willing to make a clean break? It's the only way to get an impact HC who will agree to come. Or do they put Capn Any upstairs and let him hire more castillos and mahe's thinking he can still pick em like the quant guys on wall street?
IGY has this right - let the FO "its always been a two-year plan" spin begin. But we know the real question is will this game signal a long wandering in the desert like 82-88 or 95-2001? And fwiw, I think the wandering began with the gasping and retching late in superbowl.
But as a an eagles/skins game, they don't get a lot bigger than this.
whats most scary is the future....regardless of who the coach is....its been overshadowed by the all in offseason and the juanny promotion...but the elephant in the room is the GM and his two drafts....howie staying in his position is more dangerous to this franchise than andy and juanny combined
Eagles Inactives: Dunlap, Peters, Cole, Vandervelde, Clayton, Page + Marsh. Herremans starts at LT, Justice at RT.

and why would you take your best healthy lineman off of your quarterback's blindside?
Andy Reid is dyslexic?
HOW DARE YOU QUESTION REID'S PLAN??
I wish Reid and Castillo were on the inactive report.
But they have a plan!
oh shtein i just noticed that page is inactive and jarrett isn't. it only took 6 weeks and an "injury" to get your 2nd round safety to dress on gameday when you have the worst safeties in the league. cool.

Washington needs to wake the farg up on offense. If the Eagles pitch a shutout then Castillo's never going to get fired.
chill kurt coleman
No points here...
lol....chaney audibled to have coleman blitz then completely forgot to step in and cover the hot route to the TE
Defend the TE - its all Grossman knows (or can) to throw to.

good first half. d played well, oline played well. wtf is going on?
did rosen actually ask billick if the skins should have onside kicked there
If the taterskins don't make any adjustments here, Castillo should be fine!

Choke choke choke choke choke.
Skins really got hosed there. That ball should have been brought out to the 20. But the Skins have a tight end, so it didn't matter.
his height also prevents them from running screens in the flat which is their bread and butter
he can throw a screen in the center of the field on occasion but he has all kinds of trouble with a screen on the outside because on a screen you always have someone bearing down on you and because of that vick has to put way to much air under the ball which throws the timing off

what killed the skins was the 3rd and 17 play where they went for it all....they should have tooken what the eagles gave them and threw underneath for ten yards where you could have either went for it on fourth or made the fg a lot easier

i barely noticed the fireman...which is a good thing
Except for last year the Skins games are always ugly wins
actually they often are ugly losses
I hate everything about you.
This game was nothing to get excited about, other than the fact I hate the friggen' taterskins and at least won't have to listen to their mouthy fans this week. This offense can't seem to put 4 quarters together. If the taterskins had something even remotely resembling a NFL quarterback today it would have been a different game. Even with Grosssman throwing 4 int's, the taterskins were still in the game up until the last 1-2 minutes. Just another example of a sputtering inconsistent offense who's scoring shut down in the second half. And were was Pimp this game? He had an almost invisible 3 catches for 46 yds.
I don't want to get excited about a defense that only had 14 rushing attempts against it. The taterskins passed the ball 37 times against the NFL's 30th ranked run defense thats been giving up an avg. of 5.0 yds. per carry, and 701 in 5 games. I don't care if the Skins were playing from behind or not. How do you only rush the ball 14 times against this D? I dunno' maybe because Hightower was out?
The Eagles have a pathetic Rex Grossman to thank for this game.
To be fair, those 14 rushing attempts came out to somewhere around 120 yds in previous games this season, so I do have to give the D a little credit for that. They shut down a guy who went for 130 last week and who killed them in the first game last season.
But yeah, Grossman was the difference in this game. [igy]If Beck started that game, the Eagles lose[/igy]
a good homer would say the eagles qb threw four picks last week on the road against a better team than the skins and they were in it till the end as well
False. A good homer is furiously whacking it right now and isn't aware this conversation is going on. Phreak, when you get back from the bathroom I'd like your opinion on this.
this actually might be the worst win in eagles history

The point is that a pick 6 is worse than a reg interception. One gives the opposing team points, the other doesn't. I'm not sure how this is hard to understand.

Grossman looked like shtein, two of the int's were no were near any of his players. I don't care if he didn't throw a pick six, he still looked worse than Vick did last week.
That's because Grossman at his best still isn't as good as Vick at his worst. Still doesn't change the fact that a pick 6 hurts your team more than just throwing an int.

If thinking Grossman looked worse today than Vick did last week implies that I don't think a pic six doesn't hurt more than a regular int, then thats not what I was trying to say. No shtein, six points might be a little worse than a int in the red zone. Geez, friggen' Ray Charles could have seen how bad Grossman was today and he's blind
and dead. Not everything is so black and white.
It doesn't get much blacker or whiter than Ray Charles and Rex Grossman.

1998: beat Detroit 10-9 (http://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/199811080phi.htm)

1992: beat Phoenix 7-3 (http://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/199210250phi.htm)
I remember that 98 game very well. Duce and Garner both had pretty good games if I'm not mistaken. The 92 game is vague. I remember the game but can't remember any specifics from it at all. It's probably better that way too.
those are wins where they played bad and won....not bad wins

Hit it on the head there.

I saw the greatest quarterback ever play arguably the best quarter of football in history against an all-time defense. Yeah, it sucked that the Eagles lost, but I'll be damned if it wasn't an honor just to watch that game in person.

Was it when Joe Montana led the 49ers to come back from 27 down and score 28 pts in the 4th qtr?
wasn't that the vikings at the vet in 85 or 86?
Ok, yes just checked the schedule from 85. Birds up 23-0 and the Vikings scored 28 unanswered in the fourth. Wanna feel old? Jan Stenerud was kicking for Minnesota.

In 85 the Eagles were up on the Vikes 20-0 at half time then 23-0 after 3 when Min came back to win 28-23. But that 85 Eagles defense would never be mistaken for an all time D and the Vikings QB that day was Wade Wilson, also never mistaken for the greatest QB ever.
This was the first Eagles game I ever attended. I should have stopped right there.

Ha...me too.
That was an eventful weekend. I got married the day before, had emergency dental surgery at 7:00 AM on game day then flew to Bermuda for our honeymoon the next morning.
I was high as a kite on painkillers during the game and I only remember flashes of the next couple of days.

JFC, you are a bad luck sob. I used to just joke around when I said that I hope I never meet you but now I really mean it. Keep that ish to yourself.
I wasn't even a sperm yet.
Not much has changed.

Do you really think you'll fall into the marriage trap again just by hanging out with
Rome?

Possibly. I've heard he's irresistable.
I married a great woman, far better than I ever deserved.
The fact you managed to marry at all tells us as much, but it's nice that you know it too.
oh my god no one cares
People do. I can understand your confusion, though.

Welcome to every post you have ever written.
Back on track and getting away from Munson's jizz and Emo-MDS...
I understand what you're saying igy - missing out on OJ was bad. But this is too early to be a bad win because we all know Andy isn't going anywhere.
it was a hideous win in that rex grossman threw four pics and they still couldnt put the skins away.....it wasnt a bad win in terms of their draft status....its ridiculous to think that way this early....especially with a team who has enough talent that even if the season goes completely awry they still wont be picking in the top 10
I don't understand why, with all the talent on this offense, they are so inconsistent. How can you have all those weapons and go the whole second half without even a field goal?
zesty offensive line and a midget qb
Yeah, Vick has way too many passes deflected. I'll bet half, or more of his int's are deflected either by the offensive lineman, or him hitting the lineman in the helmet.
