I wish I was coming up for this game.
But I'm not.
Go Eagles.
The Giants would be a decent team but have a lot of injuries. Speaking of injuries, the Eagles could have to choose from a concussed Vick, a gimpy Young, or a healthy Kafka.
Too early in the season to subject Vick to the Giants' front seven. I like what Kafka showed in reading the blitz and making the quick throws. Tell the defense to grow a pair and keep after it, and the Eagles SHOULD win this game.
Essentially, the Eagles SHOULD have beaten the Falcons in Atlanta and did not. I think they take care of the Giants, who are not as good as Atlanta, at home. Maybe big.
I'd take a healthy Kafka over a gimpy Young.
Giants tried their best to give that game away last night; they're sloppy, injured and Eli's arm is a wet noodle.
Justin Tuck started talking after the game about how everyone in the locker room believes they owe the Eagles something from last season.
Give me a healthy Kafka and a whole lotta protection for him because Perry Fewell is going to blitz him silly.
In theory that would work. But what exactly have you seen from the o-line this year that would make you think they are anywhere even close to being capable of keeping a not as mobile Kafka off his back?
Vick plays = 14 point win
Kafka plays = 4 point win
VY plays = Eagles 1-2
Based on what I've seen from the first two weeks of the season, the Giants are a really bad team. Last night was a farging debacle and the Rams should be flat out embarrassed to have lost.
A short week, on the road, coming off a win... the Eagles should win this game easily.
Also, I agree with this.

skys the limit as far as interceptions for eli going against these corners
minimum three
Don't sleep on Kafka taking off and running. He's got a little jet in him.
If Vick was healthy I'd think a 20 point win would be about right.
He's not so anything can happen. I have a gut feeling they're embarrassed about giving up 35 to the Falcons too, so I agree the dbacks are gonna have a field day.

i think he plays....they said he was pretty much fine monday night after the game and even right after the hit he just barely missed passing the baseline tests...its an overreaction because of the new concussion rules....if this happens three years ago he finishes the falcons game and probably doesnt even hit the injury report this week

I agree with Rolle. As an extraordinary playmaker Pimp is, he still disappears for games. It's not like he's Andre Johnson
thats like saying dexter mccluster isnt as good as adrian pederson
To paraphrase, Pimp is to Andre Johnson as McCluster is to Peterson? I disagree
Did Havas just say that Pimp is the WR equivilant to a 3rd string RB?
Also, Rolle still talking ish:
QuoteThe Giants are hoping Vick plays, safety Antrel Rolle said on Tuesday.
"I want the best of the best," he said on his weekly radio spot with WFAN. "And he is the best. I hope Michael Vick plays, because at the end of the day, I don't want any excuses when we go down to Philly and put it to them the way we will."
And Tom Coughlin makes no sense:
QuoteWhen asked Tuesday if the Giants will concoct two game plans to prepare for Vick and his potential replacement Mike Kafka, coach Tom Coughlin promptly responded that his expectation is that Vick will play.
"I expect Michael Vick will play and if he can't play, I'm sure he will," Coughlin said. "I think that if Michael Vick can play, he will play."
The intelligence level between coaches and players is narrowing.
no im comparing frail midgets to manimals...or really im showing how ridiculous it is to do so

Probably because of your limited thinking capabilities. Don't worry, we still wub you.
Dominic Hixon is out for the year. Torn ACL.
And Manningham has a concussion.
The Giants losing all of their receivers is bad for the Eagles as it probably makes the decision to run the ball much easier for Coughlin.

Dude, you should get it for free. They are offering it free to all new subscribers. Just call them up and pretend like you are going to drop it so they send you to the retention department and start bitching. That's what they did for me and about three other other people I know.
I'm aware that many did. I got it for $150 with the to-go package included, which I consider to be very fair.
P.S. Most who got it free had to agree to pay full price for next year's package.

If Matthews had been there, the received would have rolled on top of him, his knees would have never hit the ground, and would have gotten up to score the TD.

Did not think the Eagles could have the lead without a Vick touchdown anywhere.
Steve Smith still kinda helping the Giants.
Run your route 9 yards.
Ummm... why?
Nice play calling.
Sure am glad they didn't give McCoy a lead blocker there
Aw come on!

The comparisons to Sanders are legit. Shady gets tackled for a loss just as much as Barry did.
Fastest qb in the league but we don't try to roll him out on these short yardage plays or goaline plays.
That playcall might have cost them the game right there.
Somebody go tell McCoy about this thing called leaping over the pile.

Why are they going for 2 there? hoping they can block an extra point if the Eagles score a TD or something?
Too bad we couldn't do that on the one.

dream team.. lol. the linebackers are literally the worst i've ever seen on any team. the philosophy of pushing every play to the weakest part of your team is laughable at best. the offensive line is more horrible then i could have imagined. desean gets his pimp status revoked until he can actually catch a farging ball. i mean seriously dude, your embarrassing. broken hand.. good season. .500 at best and i really really really can't wait for fat ass to take a long walk anywhere except here. i was amazed they actually had all of their timeouts to use at the end of the first half and then they have two false starts in a row and can barely get a play in to totally nullify any good it did them. he decides to play smash mouth football at the goal line with an undersized line that's horrible anyway. when he finally throws a trick play in there its to the slowest player with the least amount of talent on the entire field. just farging die of a heart attack already, bro. i'm tired of seeing and hearing your fat ass.

How do you figure that? They gave up less yards passing and less big plays in the passing game and more total yards rushing in the first two games then todays game. They had allowed 386 yards rushing with a 6.1 yd. per carry avg. in the first two games, 2nd in the NFL. They allowed 105 today. This is team that has now allowed the opposition to rush for a grand total of 491 yds. in 3 games. They have linebackers that are almost invisible on run plays and covering tight ends. They let Brandon Jacobs catch a 40 yard TD for christ sakes! How the farg does that happen? Farging Matthews! I believe that there isn't a linebacker on the roster that would start for any other team in the league, but they're all of a sudden going to control the run game if they stop the big plays in the passing game? I don't think so. They can't stop the run in any situation.
Quote from: BobbyT on September 25, 2011, 05:18:35 PM

That was some of the dumbest playcalling yet. They had been running outside the whole time. Even if they were going to sneak Vick and not rush Shady, they should have run outside and allowed for a hole to open. This offense is built on speed, Reid knows that for shteins sake, why give up on it when your at the goal line?
Quote from: BobbyT on September 25, 2011, 05:18:35 PM

Eagles' Reid wants to talk football after loss, so let's start hereQuoteThere really wasn't much for Andy Reid to say after Sunday's confounding loss to the New York Giants, or at least there wasn't very much he felt like saying. Either way, Reid's day on the sideline will have to speak for itself, because there wasn't a lot of explanation afterward.
The answers to the final seven questions of his postgame news conference were:
"I thought it was the right thing to do."
"I can't remember that to be honest with you."
"I went with Kafka."
"Yep."
"Cramps."
"Uh . . . their penetration."
"We'll see."
For fun, try to match the answers with the questions below:
"What happens if you go swimming too soon after lunch?"
"What is it that makes nails stick into wood?"
"Who did you choose as the greatest author of the 20th century?"
"Why did you help that old lady across the street?"
"What is the capital of Wyoming?"
"What is the opposite of nope?
"When we open our eyes, what will happen?"
The actual questions weren't that great, either, but they were legitimate and probably deserved a better hearing than Reid gave them. By that time, however, he had tired of the proceedings and just wanted to get out of there.

Ive never seen a team more ill-equipped to supposedly have a shot at superbowl than this team right here. I dont know where the shtein ever came from to make anyone even think that.
Mike Vick--going down as the most brittle Eagles qb ever. should've never played today. he looked slow right from the jump like he was just going through he motions.
LB's--never in my life of watching football have I seen such garbage on the field. the 2008 Detriot Lions lb's are high-fiving each other that they just passed down the torch as the worst unit ever.
Marty M. and Reid--I mean...I dont know if they think they're funny or just too cool for the game, but running some form of a gadget play every other down or series should have you both banned from the game for life. Their player personnel packages inside the 10 are some of the worst decisions Ive ever seen in football.
Desean Jackson--his hope of top 3 receiver money just went out the window with this game right here. how many dead on the money throws are you going to miss? thats 3 games in a row now. pimp this. (hes not even close to why they lost--but its still infuriating)
Positive note: Shady--might just be the most complete back in the league. his cut-backs were off the charts barry sanders like. Shame those talents will go to waste this year.
The most disgusted Ive been after an Eagles game in quite a while.

9-7 was my original guess. Maybe igy can go all in for 1-15.
I am starting to think that 9-7 was being overly generous. We were saying that the defense wasn't championship quality. I'm not even sure it's NFL quality at this point.
the more i think about that goalline series the more angry i get.
not only do you not give the ball to your top 5 rb in shady. you have another pro bowl rb as his backup and don't even give him the ball.
no, you give it to Owen Schmidt...twice.
what?
pretty sure we were sayin the defense sucked....its playing out exactly as it should....the offense is the dissapointment...even with this line this team should be putting up 30 a game in its sleep with the weapons they have
The offense is explosive - and inconsistent. Looks like a world beater one series, then Vick fumbles or Jackson drops or Reidinwheg forgets Shady even exists.

But most were calling for 10 or 11 (some even 12) wins. This defense not only can't stop the other team far too often, Coleman proved yesterday that the defense can't even get out of its own way.
the nfl is a pretty bad league so im not sure wins are always a perfect indicator
case in point they won 10 games last year without babin jenkins drc and assy and having the worst red zone defense in the last quarter century
So for years we've all been screaming for the Eagles to run the ball more. Yesterday they did so effectively and consistently. One of the main reasons you run the ball - even if it's not working - is to keep the defense honest. Once you establish that you can run the ball effectively the best thing you can do is play action. I don't think they ran play action once yesterday. Not only that but why not take what the defense gives you and make them adjust. Know what the Giants did well yesterday? They took the middle of the field and underneath stuff because it was there and the Eagles LBs and safeties blow. 3 of their TDs were on busted/fluke plays but that didn't matter because any time they needed a 1st down they tossed it over the middle or checked it down to the RB.
We all knew this team would need time to gel, what's frustrating is they're going in the opposite direction. It never ceases to amaze me how Eagles fans can see a teams weakness but the front office/coaching staff remains clueless.
that was the one thing i noticed too was the lack of play action. the one play i did notice they ran it was the on the play where vick broke his hand. good stuff.
The linebackers are nowhere near NFL quality. It's the worst collection of losers I can ever remember them having.

Agreed but moving forward do any of the guys from the 2010 draft class inspire hope? Agreed on Allen, I think he'll be decent once he's back from his injury, the rest of that draft class is looking awful. Year 3 is next season, if they're not producing that class is officially a bust. What's equally sad is they have a lot of picks again and you know they're going to squander them on shtein.

They are not capable of playing 4 quarters of football, they did it last year all season, excluding the taterskins blowout.
