QuoteEagles release 4 players today: DT Marlon Favorite, RB Derrick Locke, LB Brandon Peguese, WR Terrance Turner. Roster at 86.
Favorite was a lock to make the roster but Locke was a favorite to get cut.
I have to clap and boo at the same time.

QuoteEagles release four players: WR Gerald Jones, DB Jamar Wall, T Spencer Johnson, TE Martell Webb. Roster now at 81 players. Needs to be at 80 by 4pm Tuesday.
CB Isaiah Trufant - Bye.
Jorrick Calvin - gone
Should have been after that TEN game.
and Wall is back
and Wall is gone
Along with HOF Ingram, Shipley, and others of little consequence
now Shipley will have more time to spend on CF
If it wasn't for HOF Celek, we could just rename the section "Ask a Former Eagle."
Chad Hall and Sinorice Moss both cut.
so jackson, maclin, smith, avant, cooper and...? no 6th guy?

I'm fine with that group. You have two great starters and two of the best 3rd down guys in the league, then some size with Cooper. They can use the depth elsewhere like OL.
I guess they don't extend PIMP, put him back for punts, and franchise him if he survives the season.
Or throw anyone with a pulse back there kinda like the Lewis/Reed/Mahe shtein from a few years ago
I don't get why they would want to take pimp away as the put returner.....he is a game changer back there. Its not like he is a WR that is going to catch the ball 10 times a game. He is a playmaker let him get the ball as much as he can.
Yeah, he doesn't catch a lot of balls and defenses can and will scheme to limit the amount of times he gets thrown to each game, so you might as well keep him on PR duty so he gets a few more touches each game. Granted, punters will likely kick to the sideline with him back there, so he may not get too many return opportunities, but that also opens the door for the punter to shank one off the side of his foot and have it go oob 30 yards down field, which still benefits the offense. Besides, all it takes is 1 kick to go him as evidenced by the NY game last year.
Isn't Johnnie Lee Higgins still on the team? I guess he'd be the 6th WR

Not from the Eagles, but thanks for the input.
Hargrove..better?
Yes, thanks. Don't let it happen again.
They also released landri, Hargrove and Landri out play Laws and they still don't make the team. This is why the Eagles don't win Super Bowls, teams like the Steelers have no problem cutting second round picks if they suck.
guess this means Cedric Thornton made it
Doubt it, don't they normally only keep 4 DTs?
Veterans on the roster week 1 have the season's salary guaranteed. Can almost guarantee at least one of them will be back after the Rams game.
P.S. McGlynn gone. And Austin Howard. Justice took a pay cut to stay.
Donald Lee's gone too
I read on Caplan's site that Landri and Hargrove both had $50k bonuses if they were on the roster week one.
Cheap FO!
Seriously though, they outplayed Laws. But the defense is just fine. Super.
Phillip Hunt and Daniel Teowhocaresanymore have been cut
How does Juqua keep his job over Hunt?
Dave just announced Marlin Jackson, Higgins, Buckley and Wells are gone too and Harris was waived with an injury settlement
Hunt was NOT cut
Eldra Buckley
Mike McGlynn
Derek Landri
Anthony Hargrove
Austin Howard
Joselio Hanson
Ryan Harris - injury settelement
Jose Acuna
Brandon Graham to PUP
Reggie Wells
Sinorice Moss
Chad Hall
Teobustsheim
Greg Lloyd
Fenuki Tupou
Marlin Jackson
Johnnie Lee Higgins
Jamar Adams
Phillip Hunt makes it
and it looks like Justice is not on PUP

How does Thornton make it over Hargrove?

How does Thornton make it over Hargrove?
Hargrove vested vet whose salary becomes guaranteed week one plus he has a bonus for being on the roster in week one
Speculation is very strong that Hargrove and Landri could both be back.
I doubt it had anything to do with salary. Maybe they saw something in him at camp. I thought Hargrove played well and fit the Washburn mold of a DT...plus he can play DE too. Thornton is a big body who can fill up space though so maybe they thought they had enough of the undersized type.
21 new players by my count
No one wants to talk about Joselio and his dong being cut? Apparently he had a lot of stats going for him that makes it a questionable move. THAT one was money-motivated without a doubt. Lindley? Blech. Hughes? Will be gone if they sign anyone from another team's cut list.

Who other than Thornton do they cut? They aren't going to carry 11 dl. Juqua maybe? (Hargrove swings both ways)

I'm disappointed they couldn't trade him, but everybody knew he was gone.
juqua restructured his deal like justice to stay with the team.
with so many players looking for work, the teams are in an extreme power position to force restructures on whomever they want.
QuoteLB: Matthews, Fokou, Chaney, Jordan, Clayton, Rolle
Man...it's hard to think that this D has been upgraded when you look at that group.
He's baaaaaaack! (to the PS)
