Foregone conclusion. Kolb has nowhere else to go.
i honestly dont like you
Pretty sure that means I'm doing something correctly in life.
Some of us actually come here to get credible information. Ass.

cracks me up
OK, now he's really an Eagle. Him and whomever they pick with the extra 2012 2nd round draft pick.

OK, now he's really an Eagle. Him and the 33rd pick in the draft.
So, is it the money Kolb got that you find insane, or that Banner Inc actually got a starting CB and a (likely early) 2nd round pick back for him?
both...but more the money...
the money he got would lead you to believe the guy is already a good qb
the trade that was made would lead you to believe that the cards hope hes gonna be a good qb
Of note is that DRC is under contract through 2012 for ~$1 million per.

More money than Desean Jackson is making this upcoming season
How can anyone not like this deal? A backup QB for an above average CB and a 2nd? If Nnamdi wasn't available, I think we'd all be doing cartwheels.
I know I was down on DRC from the onset, but thinking about this, its a very good deal.
...almost twice as much, in fact.
Also, get ready for the new company line:
-the Eagles value DE and CB more than any other positions on defense
-the Eagles are starting Pro Bowlers at both DE spots and both CB spots
-you can shut the farg up if that isn't good enough, because they farging say so
Even if he's average, that's still a hell of an improvement over last year. Not the best they could have done for that position, but the best they could do for unloading Kolb. If they wind up using that draft pick on a corner because DRC isn't playing well enough, then it was still probably a good deal.
Awesome haul for Kolb. Now find another safety and some linebackers and we might have a defense.
The thing that really gives me pause on this deal is that the Eagles could have signed Asomugha or Johnathan Joseph without trading anybody. DRC is younger and cheaper than either of them, but they could have filled the need with arguably a better player on the open market.
BUT WAIT!! You all think that Reid and Roseman are idiots. So, which is it? Does DRC suck worse than last years corners. did 2 idiots get lucky on a deal or maybe they aren't so dumb after all?

Shut up.
If you think Joseph is better than DRC, you need a better vision plan.

Seriously. Getting ANYTHING for Kolb was a win. Wow.
I'll have to cool it on the schtick. Even the natives can't read it anymore.
But seriously, are the Eagles still in the mix for Asomugha?
They should have traded Kolb to Cleveland for Sheldon Brown
not really, everyone knew he was being traded and it was going to be multiple picks or a player and a pick
:-D @ getting anything for Kolb, so you would have traded him for a 7th rounder?

exactly...its not always getting the best player possible....its the amount of improvement you make at a position

Anything meaning holding onto him and letting him go for nothing at the end of the season.

They could have held onto him then tagged him at the end of the season. No way they were just going to let him go for nothing. The compensation may not have been as high but they still would have saved face.

Did you just VORP?
QuoteKen Whisenhunt on trading DRC: "When it was first talked about, I said no. It really comes down to what you have to do to get a deal done."
Shudders at the thought of running backs getting loose in this secondary...
changing his number to 45..kinda gross for a cb
Trade his ass...
every time i see a good player thread bumped i open it with extreme fear thinking its going to be that he got carted off the field with a blown knee

Ditto
next time ill start a players who change their numbers thread
every time I see DeSean's thread bumped I expect to read that the Eagles just made him the highest paid WR in the world

I used too but if the thread is on the same page it was from the last time I checked I know it's just an update. Once he signs I figure that thread will go from 99 pages to 104 in under 10 minutes.
Who is the last good corner to wear 45? Barry Wilburn?!
Signed a 1-yr $5M deal with the Broncos. Another good riddance
i would have liked to keep him.....especially at that rate
Yeah, he was worth another shot.
I didn't care one way or the other with him. At the price Denver paid though, I def wouldn't have minded him staying.
Yeah but in order for him to accept that rate, the Eagles had to tell him goodbye. Had they tried to resign him, his number would surely have been greater.
