Title: Top-Home Games, Road Games, Road Trips, Tailgates, & TV Moments
Post by: hbionic on March 03, 2011, 04:47:12 AM
You know the drill: List your top Home Games, Road Game, Road Trip, Tailgates, TV Moments

My only Home Game attended- Opening Day, 2002, Veteran's Stadium vs. Cowboys. Reggie Swinton meet Sheldon Brown.

Road Game: Probably the best road game attended was the Eagles at Kansas City when they came back and we still had T.O. (Got to do the T.O.  chant...woohoo!)

Road Trip: St. Louis. It's where I met and fell in love with Sarge, did a bukake in T-Hawk's beer, and fingered Father Demon. Smoked a cigar with Phillymic, was one of the last people to see Phanatic alive, and met someone who wears zubas.

Tailgates: Philadelphia 2002, met a lot of people on this board. St. Louis, sub-30 degree weather, eating someone else's food, and drinking their beer.
San Diego, yummy food prepared by a squaw, met real life canadians. But one of the most memorable: Nashville. One words: Phatty.Matty.

TV Moments: Hmmm...there are tons...but two that stand out had superbowl implications and they are tops because of the emotional energy released....1)When Chad Lewis caught the TD in the corner of the endzone in the NFCCG v. Atlanta...I knew we were going to Jacksonville.
2) When Desean Jackson caught the TD against AZ in the NFCCG....we had made a comeback...and I thought we would be able to hang on to go to the superbowl.

Top Eagles Supberbowl parties: Just kidding.

road game - any number of late 90's early 2000's games at fed ex when we used to roll 40-50 deep with a 95% hooligan factor...i think it was the 2002 game when we camped out on the grassy knoll that along the lane that feeds people down thru the green lot and we formed a tent city with like 500 other eagle fans...everytime a car with eagles fans came down everyone went bezerk and everytime a taterskin car came in it got absolutely destroyed with beer and food...this went on for like an hour when this hammered taterskin fan comes over near where every was and first spits on the ground by peoples feet then turns around and moons everyone...then seemingly on cue all at once a tsunami of beer buries the guy....when it stops hes still mooning everyone...cat didnt even move....then this dood i dont even know comes up from behind and starts pissing on the guy...guys friends jump on the pisser and all hell breaks lose...melee for like a minutes and out of the scrum comes someone with moon mans jersey...immediately douses it with charcoal fluid and burns it...the bedlem amongst all the eagle fans there while that was happening was incredible...easily louder than the game

zesty pic from that one...my boy used to have a video of a lot of it...ill have to check and see if he still does

another one of those games we went to dead tree crews tailgate to see if that bitch leader of theirs was the tough guy he claimed...."any eagle fans come to my tailgate they gettin punched in the face"..."no visiting fans disrespect the DTC tailgate"..."you tryin to get busted in the lip?!"...blah blah blah...four of us went up and were just talking mad shtein...all they did was surround us while the douchebag leader (name?) yelled dumb shtein at us thru a orange traffic cone

yet another time in line to get in the stadium my brother and these guys are beefin...regular talking shtein stuff...all of a sudden a beer can flys by my ear and goes over the doods head courtesy of my brother...so the guys now are really hot...im not trying to fight and miss the game since we are in line to get in...so i tell the guys our bad imma get my brother to aplogize and this is all squashed...takes me like five minutes to get my stubborn as bro to finally apologize...like 30 seconds later my brother one of the guys flings beer at my brother..i didnt see it happen but i was like which one?...he points the guy out and im like this one?..yeah.....BAP! i snuff the guy and he goes down...now its on...three guys jump on me..we are mising it up for like 20 seconds when they all just take off...no doubt trying to avoid arrest...or worse not getting to go in the game...im missing a hat and a shoe...we sit there waiting for the cops or security to come because im sure they are...but nothing ever happens...we get up front give our tickets and go in

road trip - i actually really liked cincinnati...horrible city and wasnt the most people we ever had...maybe 10-12 but just really good heads getting hammered in cool little dive bars all weekend...new orleans was easily the best city ive ever been to but i got stuck up for 600 bucks and the game was worse which soured it...i cant wait to go back (next year i think?)

tailgates - to many great ones to name...they all tend to run together

home game - nfc championship no contest

tv moments - pimp this year....nothing will ever touch that...the eagles bar in dc was exactly this but three times as many people http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2cj3Bn8OeA

Home Game; 81 championship game. i was young so there is no tailgate to speak of but it was such an experience for me to witness that and be a part of it with my dad.

Road Game: only had one and it was epic, 2003 at fed ex. eagles fans dominated. it started at the entrance to the green lot as about 20 car loads of eagles fans waited to get in the lot. our tailgate crew was only four strong but we got in there and put our flag up and basically gave the parking lot a big farg you. had a ton of fun - DH & i going at it with the skins fans parked next to us. eagles chants with the eagles fans coming to one of the very pissers. hillbillies offering us $10 for a cheese steak but instead trading some of their crazy drink to have one.

inside the stadium was even better. sitting behind the skins bench front row was sweet. plus the entertainment value of the four betty whites sitting behind us was off the charts. by the 4th qtr most of the sections behind the skins bench was filled with eagles fans ripping into the team. good times.

Tailgates: way too many great ones but a couple dallas games were ahhh, excellent, what i remember of them anyway. the saints game a few years back was damn cool too.

TV Moments: house of pain game. was up in the pocconos working and the crew stayed at our bosses lake house and we watched pure mayhem by a defense.

Home Game: NFCCG vs. Atlanta. Nothing short of being at a winning SB will beat this.
Road Game: NFC Divisional Round vs. Giants in 08, but the Nawlins trip was epic. I also didnt get stuck up, so maybe that played a factor
Tailgates: The tg we had in Carolina was pretty solid. The best part being when we laughed at that woman who said "We're gonna beat you in Philly in the NFCCG!"
TV Moments: Desean's PR

Sad to say, but Chuggie's list is almost identical to my list because I haven't been to many games over the last 6 or 7 years without Chuggie.

Home - MNF vs Dallas in 92.

Away - @ KC in 05.

Roadie  - This is a tough one because they're all a blast, but I'm going with KC in 05 as well.  Had a great weekend partying, Eagles fans overran one of the most popular bars in town, met Christian Okoye, solid tailgate and a great comeback win.  Minnie and Nashville are tied for 2nd.

Tailgate - Tie between SD and Nashville.  Better food in SD but watching Matty throw newly opened cans of beer at Titans fans after the game was about as good as it gets.

TV Moments - So farging many.  I'm gonna go with the most recent though....Pimp's punt return to win it against the Giants.

Home Game: Two words: Wilbert Montgomery

Road Game: Miami in 2003.  Absolutely epic weekend.  Fort Lauderdale was overrun with 15-20 thousand Eagles fans.  Oh, and the Spearmint Rhino will live on forever.    Got to meet several of the OG's from the old EMB too.

Tailgate: Too many to count.  Probably the time I met rjs & matty for the first time & heard MURP sing(?) death metal.  Pretty much could have ended my life there and been satisfied.  I have to say the opening night at the Linc was farging awesome too.  Countless others in the 80's & early 90's were great as well.

TV Moment:  Strange but I'll say when Brian Mitchell ran back the kick against Tampa in the NFCCG.  I have never heard a louder reaction from Eagles fans at a bar in my life.  Compares favorably to the J.J. Daigneault moment, actually.

Pretty good stuff IGY.

Rome, what is the JJ Daigneault moment? Actually, I already know...but just explain it one more time.  :paranoid

Home Game - Eagles Bucs playoff 2002 at the vet. Matt, our boys Scott and Jesse, two cases of miller lite and a bottle of jager.

Road Game: Every road game is good times. New Orleans was fairly epic and the fact that I can't talk about a lot of what happened speaks volumes. Met Feva and Moloko and wasn't disappointed. My favorites though, will always be Skins games. I don't have any knuckle-chuckin' stories like IGY, but taking over the stadium of the team I grew up hating more than any other sports franchise is too good.

Road Trip: New Orleans. But Nashville was fun too. Both games ate balls. The Nashville hotel also ate balls, but the food was good and the music was good and meeting hbionic was a long strange trip that will stick with me long after I would like it to. Meeting Demon was far less traumatizing. Sarge picked me up at the airport, that big softie.

Tailgates: The Eagles Bucs game mentioned above. It was only a four man tailgate, but we were a goddamned wrecking crew. Also, that was the same day that Lindros returned as a Ranger and we watched the pre-game fight and Flyers game in the parking lot of the Vet. Good shtein. I'll give a runner up to the tailgate where I met Beermonkey, T, MURP, Rome, PG and lots of others. Crashed on SunMo's couch and terrified his family. I'll also say this, IGY and I have our differences but he is an extremely gracious tailgate host.

TV Moments: Being buried under 34 inches of snow in my house in Boston with the ladyfriend cowering in the kitchen while I screamed and paced and watched the Eagles finally make the Superbowl. Oh right, and the comeback this year. Sick.

Home Game - been to a few, all at The Vet.  Reggie Whites return to philly.  1994 NFL 75th Anniversary weekend and those god awful uniforms.  Great game.  Favre happy feet at their best as birds D held the Pack out of the endzone in final seconds.

Road Game/Road Trip  -  Seattle, December 1992.  Randall, Reggie, Seth, Andre, Herschel, Barnett, Evans.  Birds had to win and the Seahawks were horrible.  Ruzak won it as time ran out in OT.  Almost gave me a heart attack.  Seahawks may have sucked but the Kingdome was nuts.

Tailgate - Seattle.  Raged at FX McRory's before and after the game.  Cool thing was my coworkers were Seahawk fans and we flew up for a long weekend.  Another associate of ours in Seattle had a customer who was the largest liquor distributor in Seattle.  They had a 40 yard line suite where we watched the game from.  Amazing.

TV Moment - Tie, Wilbert and BMitch's opening kickoff return in NFCG.  Still can't and never will believe they lost.  I never jumped or screamed so loud in my life after that return.

Most fun home game was this

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TkQhWGxnr60&feature=related

I'd rather see the Eagles blow out the cowboys than a nail biter that I'd be pissed through most of the game anyway. Best moment was pacman's fumble at the end of the half (Clemons stiff arm was awesome as well as Hanson's return too. shtein, the whole game was ecstasy).

Worst loss I went to was the worst loss even, NFCCG to Bucs. The opener for the Linc the next seasons also sucked because it was a carbon copy, they learned nothing in an entire off season. The wild card losses to the Rams and taterskins in 89 and 91 also sucked greatly to be at.

Only been to one road game (except SB39, which was a blast up until they lost, NFL tailgate party was off the charts good). It was the loss to TB when the journeyman kicker hit that 6000 yard fg at the end of the game to win. You could feel the 30 mph gusts coming into the stadium shortly before. Got to see McNabb do the technicolor yawn though, got an excellent view as he was right in between me and the sun. Couldn't tell you what he ate.

Otherwise never tailgated because my buddies always go to the Philadium for some unknown reason other than they have been doing it for years.

Favorite moment at a game was me yelling "Tice you meat head, you just lost the game for your team."  I was sitting 15 rows back from the Vikings bench when they badly botched a fake FG in the '04 playoffs. I know Tice couldn't hear me because he had his headset on, but I'm sure some of the players did (waited until the crowd noise died down) and knew it was true.

I'm not from Philly, but I considered only Philly games for "home."

Home Game  -- Nov. 21 1999...the first Eagles game I ever saw in person.  Donovan had his first TD pass as a pro -- to Chad Lewis -- in garbage time after Peyton Manning and Edge shredded the Eagles.  I'll never forget seeing the field for the first time, great day.

Road Game  -- October 19, 2003.  I was living in Brooklyn working in Manhattan, getting free tickets from a marketing guy who had Philly in his region.  My boss and his family were at the game as well.  That may have been the first NFL game my wife had ever attended.  I was hoarse the next day, as was every other Eagles fan in the house..it was ecstasy.

Road Trips -- n/a

Tailgate  --  I met a bunch of fools from here a couple times long ago.

TV Moments  --  The Wire.

I remember that game.  Colts were blowing them out and late in the 4th qtr when the game was already decided, Jim Mora threw the challenge flag on that one.
