I like it; he's a decent player.

Hopefully, he is healthy now if he is this is a decent signing.

This signing is awful even if he is healthy. More indication that nothing has changed with this farging team.

Why is it awful?
Title: Re: Rashad Jeanty, Philadelphia Eagle
Post by: PoopyfaceMcGee on February 20, 2011, 06:00:17 PM
Because he's a large black man and rjs is a racist.

Post by: Rome on February 20, 2011, 07:13:40 PM
Actually, it's because he sucks, has zero talent, and rjs is a racist.

Post by: Munson on February 20, 2011, 07:51:06 PM
It's because this is what the FO and that farging assclown Joe Banner will point to when asked "Why didn't you try to address the LB position?"

"We did, we signed Rashad Jeanty!"

How big is this dude?  Levon Kirkland big?  Chris Gocong out of position big?  Oh, and rjs is a racist if this guy sucks.

Why is it awful?

The Eagles signing a formerly above average LB coming off of a major injury to a one-year contract?

Give me a farging break.

A strong-side LB who excels on STs? To a one-year deal? Why not take a shot.

Not like they're bustling with talent there.

"Why not take a shot."

Exactly. Same shtein, different year.

And if he turns out to be good?

Or would you rather them keep what they have?

how about they draft a bust out athletic linebacker  in the first round?

Are you being intentionally obtuse? If he's good, for one year, great. They probably won't even resign him if he plays well enough to deserve a real contract. And either way it doesn't make this move any less infuriating. For a decade they have made this exact same move over and over again. Sign a guy who had some talent (not a pro-bowler, mind you, just a nice player) who is coming off of a massive injury and sell it as 'taking a shot' on a guy.

How about they make a move for a real player? A healthy player. How about they draft someone who isn't an undersized white dude?

In the exceptionally narrow way that you are looking at this, the move is fine. Their LBs suck and this is a low risk move. But it speaks to a larger fact which is that NOTHING has changed or will change about this farging team, so stop defending these nickel and dime bullshtein moves as though the front office needs you to be its white knight. It's a horseshtein signing that accomplishes nothing.

any confusion was gone when we went to that bar by myself and you asked me, "they don't let coloreds in here, do they?"

No, I'm not. I agree with you that they need to get a real player. I have been saying that for years right along with everyone else.

But I like this move on a low risk scale. That's it, nothing more. It doesn't erase the fact that they need a stud or two in the LB depth chart.

It's not the Kool Aid.  It's the Patron Anejo & Cafe Eagaholic and Lurker told me to me to try.

You're supposed to be better than this, Donald.

I know, pretty bad.  Not proud of it at all.  I'm just losing it out here Sarge.  That time of year.  Waiting for opening day, lovin hockey but it seems like weeks between games, not quite yet on board with the Sixers although I love what I'm seeing, Joe Banners a cock, trying not to go all agro trying to figure out how the birds will farg up the draft, questionable FA signings by Gold Standard Inc., etc.

Pray for surf!
