I'd rather face the first place NFC opponents next year than the second place opponents. Winning the division could pay off even if the Eagles don't do anything in the playoffs.

im in for buffalo...i like niagara falls a lot

i despise the south and atlanta and getting group tickets would be really expensive

i have no desire to go to miami other than the fact that there will be a million eagle fans...that would probably get me there if i flew

Getting group tickets in Miami is laughably inexpensive & easy.  If you don't want to sit on the train for a day, that's fine, but don't discourage others with your nonsense.

one of the best times i ever had on a roadie was taking over a dive bar in downtown cincinnati

im going to a beach ocean area its going to be either off season somewhere or on a largely uninhabited island where its like those cornoa commericals or whatever they are....i dont need to put up with the douchebag fest that is miami...shteins wack

Buffalo over Miami in winter is hilarious even for the Igster.

I will say that if we get stuck with a September 1:00 day game that might be worse than Buffalo but only barely.

If you're not on South Beach (or some of the other nice beaches) or taking in the Miami nightlife Miami overall fairly sucks. What a lot of people don't talk about is how Miami is surrounded by ghettos. Florida is a horrible place to live. 90% of that over-sized swamp is someplace most people wouldn't ever want to live.

And Buffalo's a step above Cleveland. I'm surprised they still have an NFL team there.

Can we stop pretending that this is a conversation that needs to be had? No onewith a brain or an ability to have fun, anywhere, ever would choose to go to Buffalo instead of Miami. IGY is stirring the pot or he's just a big boring overly opinionated jackass. Either way, we don't need to pretend like this is a real topic of conversation.

yeah you pretty much didnt read anything i said...as far as the game goes...easy tickets and number of eagle fans...miami would be fine....i just have no desire to go to miami in general...theres nothing there that appeals to me....id take a dive bar in buffalo with all my peoples over some over priced awful club in miami...

weather isnt a factor (espcially on a football road trip) because i love the cold....and if i want to get away to the warmth and sun ill do a sleepy caribbean island over miami every farging time....i dont need to go to a cheesy zesty city to see the beach

Aside from the obvious Rams game for me, I'm leaning to Buffalo in October or Miami in December.  Trouble with Miami is Gino has navy seasons, and the Army / Navy game may farg up plans to be warm in December.

You leaning Buffalo, Sarge?

For some strange reason I'd like to, but I have no idea right now.  I'm thinking about Seattle too because I could make a long weekend of it and take my kids.  But I don't know if I want their first game to be an away game since I usually like to party up on the roadies.

same primetime set up as last year, i believe

3 nbc games
1 mnf
1 thursday
1-2 possible flex games for snf

good sked but that seattle game could be a disaster. i wonder if this the nfl paying the eagles back for arizona coming here on a thursday, laying down and giving the eagles a freebie.

also anyone see the mnf sked? http://espn.go.com/nfl/schedule/_/seasontype/0

2 appearances by the jags, rams and chiefs. a late season san fran game. the lions. seattle. the vikings.

the espn people have got to be pissed.

Ha! Tell em, IGY... Buffalo/Niagara Falls over Miami all day! Damn sure wouldn't call The Falls awesome, but I feel you.

I can do both Buffalo and Atlanta without even trying. Those are the two stadiums I've been to more than any others in my life. Sad, I know.

I might be up for the Atlanta game.  I wonder if it might be a tough ticket since it is Vick's first return to the ATL.

I imagine that has something to do with the league wanting to get Jville some national exposure to ensure that a move to LA happens.  Goodell has said he wants football in LA and I think behind closed doors he wants it to be Jax since they are the least "historic" team out of the ones being considered (Minny, Buf most notably and to a lesser extent, St Louis.).

So this is probably the league's way of trying to sell the idea to any potential investors.

Still though.....epic fail by the league to give the Eagles one MNF game.  Vick and Pimp = Ratings.  Not to mention, that the one game they get is against the Bears?  Who the hell wants to watch that in primetime?  Eagles/Division Opponent?  Anyone?  Anyone?  That's pretty dumb on the league's part.

no. 5 and no. 3 markets, sassy. it will do just fine.

eagles have 5 primetime games. thats the max, not counting the extra 6th for a flex. snf is the bigger package these days. not sure exactly how its divided but generally the really marquee teams are on snf more than mnf.

jacksonville from what i understand got 2 mnf home games to boost ticket sales, not really about giving them exposure. they are there and no one will ever give a shtein. they didnt sell out any games last year and with the LA rumors, obviously ownership pulled some strings and bought some favors to get those games even though they will not rate as well as some other options would have.

but anyway these things with tv games are all gives and takes by the league to the networks. each network keeps track of what gifts it gets and what gifts it doesnt get, whines and complains, and are thrown bones. remember this and wait for next year, im sure espn will have some really nice match ups in 2012.

no matter who plays
monday night football is going to average around 17-20 million viewers a week
be the number show on cable
and make gobs of money
they dont care about the matchups as much as you think

Title: Re: 2011 Home/Away opponents

actually the networks care an enormous amount what games they get, and a bad matchup and bad game can easily dip down to the low teens while a good matchup and good game will shoot over 20

and when you see jax, kc, sf, sea all over the schedule it very might well lead to a bunch of terrible blowout games involving smaller market teams.

and even if jacksonville is 11-0 when they play theyre still jacksonville and no one will give a shtein.

they really dont...would they like chicago green bay every week of course...but the bottom line is they are averaging within a couple million people the same every year for monday football no matter who plays
Title: Re: 2011 Home/Away opponents

thats because the matchups generally fluctuate between good and bad. what im saying is they for whatever reason have a lot of bad matchups this year which will probably bring the ratings way down.

I think Seattle is climbing up our list.  And remember MMH and his little Rosie.  Do you really want that for the mini-PSN's?
