Post by: TexasEagle on December 24, 2010, 03:12:34 PM
Merry Christmas folks, hope you all have a good one. And for those of you that don't celebrate it, Happy Festivus!

Merry Christmas to all of you slackers and jerks.

I am down here celebrating a Peruvian Christmas. Its quite weird to have it about 80 degrees and sunny. The latins celebrate on the 24th so we're going to party all night. Yay Peruvian beer and food.

Got a nice little tablet running android. Pretty neat, but I need to get it working with the android market.

I got an Edgebrand hunting knife model #447 for Christmas.

Made in Solingen Germany sometime after the war, it's pretty old.

Don't know much about the manufacture but I like the knife quite a lot.  I helped my son hold it up over his head--looks like a two handed sword in his little hand--and we chanted "fuego y muerta a las casas de los ricos!!

Merry Christmas to all, Happy Hanukkah (Todd), Happy Kwanzaa (igy)

Santa was good to me this season, I drank too much lastnight, threw up at 4 AM and now I have a nasty hangover.

I hope everyone had a good holiday.

I've realized...that as I've gotten older...that whole magical feeling Christmas used to have is gone...for the most part. All I think now is, "How much is this shtein gonna cost?" "Christmas shopping blows" and "If my daughter was dressed like that, I'd be farging her too".

Maybe I'm just turning into a bitter old man.

Heh, for me if a holiday doesn't involve sitting outside and having a cookout I find I only tend to care about it if I'm not working. Christmas these days is only good for finding cheap shtein I was going to buy anyway so I don't spend more on it then I need to (hence my 2TB hard drive I got for $80 this year).

Once you find out Santa Claus is a figment of someone's imagination Christmas loses most of its luster.

Jesus is a figment of damn near everyones imagination and that doesn't stop people from worshipping him 365.  Pretending a fat man exists for 24 hours is harmless and kinda fun.

I find Xmas to be 100000000x more enjoyable now that I've eliminated the religious aspect. No Xmas eve church service. No stories of a virgin giving birth in a barn. Just family, food and a truckload of frivolous gifts. Pretty much the perfect day.

Christmas hasn't been about Jesus in many, many decades... I didn't know people still went in for that farce.

the only good thing about kids is sometimes they grow up to be cool adults....like me for example

fair point...but the tax write is AFTER they have already been born and are costing you 1000 times more money than you can write them off for

I believe he mated with the succubus anti-Christ and made a male heir.  A child who will eventually spend time at the caste forum mocking teams for not having enough white linebackers.

Maybe I'm just turning into a bitter old man.

All I think now is, "what am I gonna' eat and how farged up am I gonna' get?" Deep fried turkey, Virginia baked ham, red skinned mashed potato, stuffing, gravy, string bean casserole, corn fritters, corn puddin', turnip greens...that's MA at it's best. But my work's party was the best, crab balls, lobster and shrimp Alfredo, deep fried cat fish and chips, buffalo wings, and those little smoked sausages that I just friggen' luuuuuvv! Not to mention free booze for the whole party. I hit three parties this year I'd say were all out booze and food fests. And...some of the most exciting Eagles football I've seen in twenty years at least. All in all, it was a great holiday season for me and New Years is still to come.
