10 days to prep to get all up in dat ass...
This game is huge. I figure they're going to take care of the Vikings and Dallas at home. If they lose this game and @ NY they have a very real chance of missing the playoffs. Need a W here.
Farg Dallas.
You have to like Andy Reid's track reconrd when he has extra taime to game plan.
Also Deion Sanders just told me that the Eagles are 4th in the league in time of possession. Hearing that made my brain melt and my penis burst and now I'm having a stroke.
it would just be terrific if that stroke could kill you
If Asante doesn't play the Eagles don't win. No way they can cover Austin/Bryant and to a lesser extent Williams with the slop that's out there now.
thats funny. you're funny.

I think I heard a commentator say that the Eagles have dropped 7 TD passes in the last 3 games. I learned to expect that from Small, Thrash, Mitchell, Pinkston, and whoever else, but with this team that's almost as unacceptable as the 80% TD rate the red zone D gives

I don't think the dallas secondary would be any better than the Eagles

Looks like Dez Bryant probably won't play next week, his ankle got farged.

Just announced that it's a fracture.
Good because there's no question he would have ripped the Eagles secondary a new one next week
Dallas is 3-1 SU and 4-0 ATS since Garrett took over.
I hope it's a big spread.

Feeling a lot better about this game now that Bryant is out and assuming Asante comes back.
I worry about their running game and Jay Ratliff & DeMarcus Ware.
This was their first game that they really ran well.

I'm not worried about their D at all, especially with the weapons the Eagles have. They should be able to hang a 30 spot on them no problem. Their offense scares me, Kitna isn't bad, Felix Jones is the type of back that kills the Eagles, and they have multiple receiving threats. Them losing Bryant is enormous...especially if Asante is back.
I'm worried about them making the SB because it's in their own stadium this year
They need to score early and often. The D will get trashed but if we can keep ahead of them on points then we should be good. Alot diff Cowboys team. BIG GAME!

I'm going to tease the Cowboys up, down, and sideways in this one. The chances the Cowboys don't cover 9 are ridiculously small. The over is probably a lock unteased but I worry about the Eagles being stifled offensively.
Blah Blah Blah...farg DALLAS!
my thoughts exactly
Wheew...I feel better now.
Turns out the reason why Celek was having such problems catching the ball over the course of the year--"Celek thinks wearing his contact lenses every day instead of only on game days is responsible for his recent improvement."
What a dingus. Get LASIK, you idiot.
Football players are smart.
Has it helped his driving?
For the record I would like to see the Eagles run the ball 30+ times at least once this season in one game. McCoy, Vick, Harrison, Buckley all...how much would that throw off the opposing team? Just farging once, jesus farging christ.
Remember when they lost to Dallas and rushed the ball 9 times in the game? I'll bet rjs does.
I'd love to see that as well. Won't happen this week. With Dallas' weak secondary, Marty & Co are all aboard Air Vick.

It was really only 8. One was a scramble by McNabb while he was getting chased out of the pocket.
The good news is that their rush numbers won't be enhanced by a scrambling quarterback on Sunday night.

This. The Houston game is a perfect example when he called a pass on 3rd and 11 with about 3:30 left in the game. Houston only had 1 TO left. Run the ball. Maybe you pick up the first, maybe you don't. Either way it keeps the clock running and forces Houston to decide whether or not to use that TO.
How many of those rushing attempts are by Vick? I'd like to see more rushing plays for an RB than pass plays where Vick takes off.

only the skins can you say they ran because of a win...the other three games were decided by a total of 15 pts and they ran it fairly consistently thruout the game...reid and for that matter 95% of coaches in the league are never going to run as much as they pass...thats not the nfl anymore...you just gotta hope you have a coach/OC than can properly call the right plays at the right times
I love when heads get all fired up and feel like they have the easy solution to win the game.
This offense is already "mixed" up with Vick on the field. Vick is making Reid look like a better coach this year. The opposing defense has no friggin clue who is going to make the play on offense when Vick drops back. Hell, Reid could call a 4 wide-out set and tell Vick to hold his stance then run it in his helmet mic.
Thats actually one of the things I like this year is about the offense. Nobody really knows whats going to happen on any given play.

Vick does get a couple of designed runs a game.....it would be stupid not to draw up a couple plays to take advantage of his athleticism. But the point is that the Eagles don't need to run the ball 25 times a game to win. They really aren't even built for that right now. They can win by running the ball less than 20 times a game so long as Reid/Marty are calling those runs at the right time throughout the game.
The Eagles needed to run more when they didn't have the receiving weapons that they do now. They should have used the run to set up the pass with Thrash/Pinkston. Now they have the personnel to use the pass to set up the run, and for the most part, have done a good job of that all year. I'd just like to see Reid become a little more dedicated to running the ball late in the game when he's protecting a lead, specifically in situations like the one I just mentioned.

I think the Bears game was a game where they should of run and run early. They had 2 safeties deep all game, I would of liked to see them force them into the box rather than putting Vick in a position to get hit and force throws. They played in the Bears hands and they dictated how Eagles played offensively. It seemed kind of silly to me. No QB does good under that kind of pressure. The deeper we get into this year and playoffs, we are going to get better defenses and they need to adjust. Which Reid never does.

Not really. The Bears and Giants are the only 2 defenses that seem to match up well against the Eagles in the NFC. Every other NFC defense that the Eagles have played against, they've basically embarrassed. GB defense dominated Kolb and got rolled on by Vick. Kolb smoked SF and Atl (and Atl was mostly without Pimp too) so imagine how that game would go with Vick and Pimp on the field.
The only defense that has gotten the better of Vick and the Eagles that they might have to face in the playoffs in Chicago. And the difference in that game was the int Vick threw, so it's not like they just dominated the Eagles that game. At worst, that game is a coin flip. Other than the Bears, there isn't a single defense out of the NFC playoff teams that has me worried.
Me either I am just concerned come super bowl :paranoid

QuoteOminous news for the Eagles: No Asante Samuel at practice Thursday afternoon.
Samuel, still the NFL interception leader with seven despite missing three of the Eagles' 12 games, is absent from Thursday's practice in the indoor Bubble as he deals with the knee injury he suffered in the Giants game on Nov. 21.
That doesn't necessarily mean he won't play in the Eagles' critical game against the Cowboys Sunday night in Arlington, Texas, but it's not a good sign for a team that's about to face a revived Dallas offense in what's essentially a must-win game.
If Samuel doesn't go, then that basically nullfies any advantage the Eagles had once Dallas put Bryant on IR.
it doesnt just nullify......it puts them at a big disadvantage
and lol @ 'must win game'
It's not a "must win" but if they lose this game, then it makes the final 3 must win games. So basically, win this one and you give yourself a little room for error the rest of the way.

Yes, they still aren't running enough with their other guys, and the only inflated number in that group is the one where they ran a lot late with Eldra Buckley.

beat the giants and you are tied for the division while owning the tiebreak and having your remaining two games at home while the giants hit the road for the last two weeks that includes a week 16 trek to lambeau
ill take those odds anyday
This game matters in terms of leaving a wild card opportunity on the table. They lose Sunday and the division is the only way into the playoffs.

disagree with this as well tho not nearly as much as dallas being a must win
if the eagles finish 3-1 they have around a 50-50 shot of getting a wc spot
If you are assuming 11-5, fine, the problem is 11-5 wins them the division even if they lose this week (since they would have beaten the Giants). If they lose this week and next week (which sort of was the premise of my statement) and max at 10-6, I can't see them making the playoffs. They will lose tiebreakers versus everybody and there will be at least two wildcard teams with 10 wins in the NFC.
oh yeah 10-6 and they are done
all i was saying is that they could still get a wc spot going 3-1
obviously winning next week
and subsequently the division
is the much easier path
gb still has at ne and the nyg
new orl is at balt and atl
chicago still has ne nyj and gb plus at minny which is nowhere near a gimme
Agree with that completely, but, if they lose this week, which is what people were suggesting in these "they are done if they lose etc", that eliminates the WC.
The reasoning is this: they lose this week they are 8-5. IF they win out after that like you're suggesting, they automatically win the division at 11-5 because they would hold tiebreakers over the Giants.
My point is, they could grab a wildcard spot winning this week, week 16, and week 17, but losing vs NY, and getting in at 11-5 for the reasons you said. If they lose this week it's division or bust (since not winning the division means they also lose next week to NY).
It's almost impossible to come up with a scenario where they lose this week, and win a wild card spot.
This week is literally a must win.

Id feel much better if he didnt go out and practice then miss practice the following day. If you cant practice 2 consecutive days--which are basically half-speed run-throughs, not too sure how you make it through a full game
Even if he gets treatment today, makes the flight (which will stiffen some more) and decides he can play--I wouldnt bet on him lasting past 2 quarters of play--which sucks because he needs to be on Austin

Loved Buddy but 0-3 in the playoffs. 6 field goals and 1 td. Those losses to the Rams and taterskins were as bad they get.
After 1 season, Rex is rocking a 2-1 playoff record. Buddy's biggest downfall will always be the lack of solid offensive coaching. A Swiss cheese oline didn't help either.

Good to see the determination to get 15 penalties again.

the biggest problem on the defense isn't that asante samuel is out.. it's that everybody else is still in.
Jesus farging christ! Stupid penalty and then a double reverse. WAKE UP DICKHEADS!

That's why I laugh at the Philly radio guys when they talk about these guys being a SB contender. How many teams have ever won a SB when they give up TD's 75% of the time in the red zone? This D is atrocious with Samuel on the field......without him they are D-1.

The Eagles o-line is terrible. They're gonna' have to get better if the Eagles make the playoffs and want to go anywere. The only thing that might be worse on this team is the playcalling. Reid is gonna' get Vick killed.

I can get down with the younger, less experienced, inferiorly talented guys blowing assignments and shtein. But the missed tackles are inexcusable. This is like basic, fundamental shtein and this team has had a problem with it for as long as I can remember.

I disagree. It's so easy for these guys to get in touch with each other these days that there's really no excuse for that. He could have easily hit up Vick before the game and then got it from him afterwards...or just had Vick send it to him.

QuoteDeSean Jackson's backward fall into the end zone to complete a 91-yard touchdown play for Philadelphia in the fourth quarter did not go over well with the Dallas Cowboys according to Gerry Fraley of the Dallas Morning News.
After hopping out of a lunging attempt at a tackle by cornerback Orlando Scandrick, Jackson stopped at the one, turned his back and showed the football to cornerback Terence Newman before falling into the end zone. Newman claimed he did not see the flop. Other Cowboys saw it and did slow burns. ``It's what it is,'' linebacker Keith Brooking said. ``He's a great player. Obviously when you make a play like that, you're going to get excited. I don't think that's the best part of football, but I guess he did.''
Said cornerback Mike Jenkins: ``It was disrespectful. He knew he was going to score. That's him. We beat him three times in a row last year, so he was going to come back and try to everything he could.''

Even the national media is starting to take note of this...lets hope the NFL does. Its getting farging ridiculous:
QuoteFive things I don't
1. Jason Campbell's last pass. There were 11 seconds left, and the Raiders had no timeouts. So throw to the end zone. Campbell didn't. Instead, he threw to the Jacksonville 23, ending the game. Sorry, I don't get it.
2. Oakland outside the AFC West. The Raiders are 4-0 within the division. They're 2-7 outside.
3. The pounding that Michael Vick is taking. He got hammered into the bench by the Cowboys' Anthony Spencer, and officials called nothing. You gotta be kidding me. Vick can't survive if he doesn't stop getting clobbered -- and the Eagles have no chance if he doesn't hold up.
4. Carolina in the beginning and end of games. The Panthers have been outscored 97-29 in the first quarter and 100-32 in the fourth. Start here when looking for answers why they're the worst team in the game.
5. Anything about Kansas City without Matt Cassel. They couldn't run. They couldn't pass. They couldn't catch. And they couldn't produce first downs. You can look it up. They had five. Worse, they were 0-for-11 on third downs.
Per Collinsworth, Vick's foot hadn't quite yet touched out of bounds... so the Spencer hit was just dandy.
It should be noted that Collinsworth is clearly an Eagle-hating douche.
he didn't say that at all
he said probably technically it wasn't late, but you see hits called like that all the time. then he brought up the manning/brady comparison and said it would be called right away.
he doesn't hate the eagles at all, he can't say enough good things about them
I disagree and think we should probably take a few pages to fight about it.
Then again, I probably just hate Cris because he's white and spells his name C-R-I-S.
collingsworth also said that if that were manning or brady its def a penalty
also terrance newman is a friggin liar...he 100% saw the pimp plunge...he watched it happen then started walking towards pimp like he was gonna fight him

Donovan would have attempted it, but Jenkins would have had a pick six.
the donovan would have cried and blamed pimps youth on the pick
followed by him pointing out how even brady has thrown picks this year. .
And that Carson Palmer throws an ugly out route and makes more money.

Gotta give credit to the oline for opening up some nice running lanes for Shady on the final possession and credit Andy for sticking with the run during the final 4 and a half minutes and just running out the clock. Fat Man did good last night. Fat Man did real good.
Andy seems to be getting impatient enough to keep himself from being himself. Fewer wasted time outs, fewer unnecessary challenge flags, better play calls, more open anger on the sidelines... Pretty soon his press conferences will be interesting.
Ok, maybe not. But I think it only proves just how much it was time to jettison Donnie Mac. Reid is a better coach without Donovan, and Donovan is a worse player without Reid. Bam.

Yeah last night was the highest rated SNF game ever. Eagles TV ratings are through the roof this season. Mike Vick sells.

I think you and Sarge are right on. Vick and the young guys seem to have rejuvenated Reid. The young guys had the McNabb the Leader thing hanging over them like a wet blanket last year. You could see the chemistry and respect between Vick and pimp last night.
I really don't know why they can't mix in some runs all game long. They let the Cowboys D blitz and forced Vick to make some bad throws and take some nasty hits. They really had not committed to any run game until the last possession. Meanwhile, after multiple hits, 2 illegal, they ask Vick to run on a 3rd and 1 near the end and he takes another hard hit from Ware. Unreal, it really is. All I saw was pass pass, pass, draw run, pass and so on. Then with 4 mins left they run, and of course the Cowboys can't stop it and Vick takes no hits. Had they done that all game, you would of seen a blow out and probably alot better performance from Vick, less pain on him as well. They put Vick in a bad position and he payed for it. What happens if Vick goes down again, this season would of been over. Too much at stake here, they can pass at any moment, just please save Vick and run more. That is all I ask.
No way anyone reads that.
Constructive criticism. If you have nothing to say, why even bother. I'm just trying to figure out why they put the most valuable player on the team in bad positions. They just stick to the plan regardless of what the D is sending at them? Same thing happened in Chicago, except yesterday somewhat of a defense showed up.
Is "You're a rambling nimrod" constructive criticism?
