There is nothing I want more than a win next week. If the Lions can hit and sack McNabb that many times last game there is no reason we can't. How great would it be to be the team that benches McNabb. This is turning out to be one of the best moves in along time!
Watched DNL today and D. Gunn even took a shot at McNabb. I am paraphrasing but it was something like thank god the McNabb soap opera is down in your neck of the woods.

he was benched against the lions
and theres no way they lose this game and ruin a regular season superbowl game against the giants
Yeah I know he was cause he "couldn't run the 2 min O". I am just saying it would be nice to make a fool of Donny in his new home and have Shanahan lose all faith in him against his former team.
i dont think you could show less faith in a qb than to bench him for rex grossman with two minutes left and the game on the line but if you are saying you hope mcnabb sucks on monday then i agree
skins are a train wreck and I have a bad feeling about this game. All the pressure is on the Eagles who will be expected to win, with a loss propelling McNabb to a season sweep against his old team (even if his play remains to be less than stellar).
Blech.
In the beginning of the season I was thinking the Skins pass d was going to be a solid unit the more games they played because the talent is there, but to still be at the bottom of the league does not bode well for them with Vick playing a full game.
Vick has to completely shtein the bed for them to lose this game--just hope he doesn't pick this week against a divisional opponent.
Vick is the star of that video. He's pondering whether being sent to prison or being that dickbag's backup is the worst moment of his life.

My eyes are always drawn to Pimp in the at clip. He looks fired up, ready to go, then notices McNabb's jig and comes almost to a complete stop. He has no idea what the farg that moron is doing.
vick in that = everyones reaction
just utter embarrassment and disgust
the mcnabb era jumped the shark long before that colossally embarrassing moment but that was definitely the last straw for a huge portion of the fan base. other than the hopeless homers who still (lol) think it was a mistake to trade him, i'd say everyone else is glad he's gone.

please say hes washed up and they were right to deal him. say this now.
not only was the f.o. right about mcnabb, they were right about most of the players who they've traded, cut, or let sign somewhere else over the last decade
obviously they aren't batting a complete 1.000 on that -- no one does -- but i have to admit that they get it right more than most teams, and definitely more than the fans. they have no idea how to find proper linebackers or treat players like humans, but they have an instinct for cutting bait on these old guys.
They are great at knowing when and which veterans to let go on one hand. On the other hand they pretty much suck at bringing in free agents. At least they got half of it down.
This is going to be a close game though I think. I think this could be the first game that actually challenges Vick a little bit defensively.
They've struggled with free agents lately, but they were actually quite good at one point....picking up a player who would make an impact basically each year up to 2004. Under Reid, they've signed:
Akers, Runyan, Barber, Emmons and TO.
Since 2005, there aren't many "impact" players that I can think of off the top of my head. Vick's looking like their best/most impactful signing since TO. Curtis was pretty good before injuries set in. Same goes with Weaver. I guess Samuel is a good signing but he's so soft he makes Bobby Taylor look like Dawkins.
Samuel has been a game-changer. Hate on his shenanigans or his tackling all you want, but his VORP is through the roof.

Awesome (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5792708).
Here's something never discussed: Is Andy such a great QB coach that he can make no-talents look good? Think about it; The Detmers, Feeley, McNabb (not so much with Mike McMahon)? When he was in Green Bay' Favre went to 2 Superbowls. Maybe he is just that good. He dumps McNabb and he is exposed as incredibly mediocre.

He has never faced this type of national criticism like he has this year. Its amazing when he was with the Eagles, fans and media around here were killed for not having patience with him.
Now all this stuff about him is coming out, guess Reid really did coddle him. I was listening to NFL Radio this morning and one of the guys was saying don't just assume him going to Arizona is a done deal. He was saying Whisenhunt wants someone that is a true leader at the QB position.

Franchise Vick, trade to Zona for 2 first round picks? The Colts game kind of sealed the deal for me on whether or not I want the Eagles to sign Vick long term....I do. But if the Eagles tag him and another team is willing to give up a couple of high draft picks, it'd be hard to turn that down seeing as they still have Kolb. Or I suppose they could sign Vick and ship Kolb off to Arizona or where ever.
Either way, they should definitely trade Kafka to the Skins this year for a 3rd rounder.

Semantics, but I don't think Ty was with the Eagles when Reid took over. I do think they spent some time together in GB, but Ty was a back up at that point. Also, Koy never really ever looked "good" under center. He was just very animated and.....um......gritty. He kills me.
It would work better if you had a player who was a legit threat to pass the ball OR run the ball
The Eagles run it retardedly with Vick, like it's just a shotgun formation. If they ran it the way Miami ran it, in a run formation, the runs might actually work.
Reid has a hard enough times calling traditional run plays that go for positive yardage.

Yeah...he's fine in space but can't shed a block to save his life. Bill Shuey or somebody must have worked with him on angles, because he was taking piss poor angles earlier in the season and would constantly be over running plays, playing catch up, and tackling from behind. I think he's certainly improved over the last few weeks but he was really bad early in the year. In a perfect world the Eagles should have held onto Witherspoon and put him back in his natural spot at the SAM.

That's a reasonable contract for a starter, but what are they going to have to pay the closer?
theres no cap so the money doesnt matter....it will be a surprise if he sees year number three of this deal...
the funniest part of this deal is that the skins are going to allow their future qb to learn under the bedwetter...because they will draft a qb in 2011

They likely will draft "a" QB, but are you saying that they're going to draft an early rounder? This contract really suggests otherwise, but if McNabb's second half of the season is no better than his first half, you would be right.
This is just epic in its bad timing, unless they are really feeling that his ego was hurting his effort and caking him now was the only way to get him to play.
So they're coddling him?

im saying the team will draft a qb this year with the intention of him being his starter down the road
the most interesting thing about this extension is how much of it is snyders doing and how upset is shanny with it....because either shanny is completely bipolar or the front office is not on the same page as the coach because this looks like a big farg you to him
I'm sure we'll see a lot of dirt in the DC papers tomorrow, especially if the skins lose ugly tonight.
it would be hilarious if mcnabb ended up being a taterskin longer than shanny
this does make me a little nervous for the game tonight. donny might come out jacked and have a great game.
He also could come out jacked and throw at guys' ankles all night, but I'm with you.
the notion that donovan mcnabb could use something like this to fire his innards up should not be of concern at all
last time he was "fired up" he blasted an air guitar and completed like three passes in the first half
im not totally discounting that he could have a good game...after all kerry collins torched this team and kurt coleman is starting...but it wont have anything to do with the contract
my main concern tonight is the taterskins run game...if they come out and gash the birds like the first meeting that causes the awful safeties to have to come up which exposes them deep which is the bedwetters specialty....bradley MUST have a great game tonight
Is Hobbs starting or did Patterson win the job?
hobbs is inactive
Good
on a scale of jesse jacksons dick to michael jordans shaft how happy is wilbon right now?
Off a bye + off controversy + new deal = I share Sunny's nervousness.
"Nice turnaround from benched to banking millions in a 'Skins extension Monday. Now Donovan McNabb gets his second shot to beat the Eagles team that traded him away rather than pay to keep him." CBSSPORTS caption. Yes, that is why the Eagles got rid of him. Cheap bastiches.
I guarantee Vick's contract is bigger than McNabb's.
Now that the dude has a new contract people are nervous? It has nothing to do with the game. If the Eagles get beat they get beat. It will most likely be due to turnovers or poor special teams play if they lose. I don't think McGut is capable of absolutely shredding teams anymore, especially with those weapons.
... and no, I don't consider the Texans game a shredding. They lost and he couldn't lead them to a game winning drive. That seals the deal.
yeah i dont understand how the bedwetter is going to magically play better now that he got a new contract....that makes no sense to me
the dude is always reliant on everybody loving him, he needs that affirmation, now he just got the extension he's waited 3 years for. i can totally see him coming out playing great because of all that.

All I know is that I will make your monthly salary if the Eagles lose tonight. (Roughly ~$50?)
its not much more than that
just stop running scared people. the world aint stacked against you.
I'm more worried about the taterskins rushing attack than McNabb. The Eagles have had great run d for weeks now and while it may be pretty good with Dixon playing and everyone settling in, it's going to have a bad game eventually. Torrain is a physical runner and we don't have very physical players in the back 7 of the defense.
But if you take care of the run there is no excuse not to get plenty of pressure. We all saw how bad the taterskins offensive line has been. McNabb isn't as mobile as he used to be either. Stop the run and this should be an offense that isn't very hard to handle.
as of a half hour ago torrain wasnt even sure he was gonna play....they were gonna see how his hammy reacts during warm ups and even if he does play hopefully he wont be effective
they just showed vick walking out of the locker and he didnt do a pathetic string guitar dance
what a dork
I could see McNabb playing well because, geeked out on a self-esteem buzz from the contract extension, he doesn't think he's under any real pressure.
nice shtein talking session between the two teams on the way into the locker room.
Brandon Banks is playing for WASH....that worries me

5'6 waterbug like kick and punt returner.
Eagles STs ain't so special.
I have a feeling something will happen tonight that will make the game closer than it should be. Like a crucial Eagles fumble, or a blown coverage on defense leading to a big TD. If the Eagles are sharp, they should have no problems against the Skins though.
i need two solo tackles from haynesworth to win my fantasy game tonight (down by .80 pts).....this was after leading my game by 70 going into the steeler game last night and getting daggered by (http://www.philaflava.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_twrex_ROFLburger.gif) and wallace

If they cut it to 35-21 this game will start to remind of me those Phils games when they were up 7-0 and they put in Baez and gives up 4 runs ASAP.
All the more reason to sign Vick....he's going to break Randall's record so how sweet would it be for him to do it in an Eagles uni?
Line not holding up right now.
Momentum shifted.
Go into halftime 35-14 or score one more TD regardless of what they do and it's over.

its not on the line you dont need the line to hold up with vick...what you do need is for the stupid farging receivers to get open when vick gives them nine seconds to do so

Amazing.
Couldn't happen to a better fan base.
Take it deep, Skins fans.
a guy in my league just set the all time single game pts record because of vick
I don't think there was a question before, but as much as I think Kolb is a nice player, Vick does every facet of the game better. There is absolutely positively 100% no chance he isn't re-signed and not the QB of the future.
im for pimp returning punts in almost all situations but this isnt one of them
I think Calvin might be shaken up from earlier.
Put Max Jean back there...anyone but Pimp.
ES is amazing...they're wishing for Vick to get injured and three or four of them won't hush about the refs.

Get 49
Give them a year. Then they'll be wishing for McNabb to get injured.
Any doubt they struggle to score 10 next week now?
Haynesworth pushing McGlynn down was hilarious...
Not gonna happen. The only reason it did before was those 10 pts games were usually windy games and McNabb + wind = failure.

I think I'm gonna watch that 1st quarter again and go holla at Mrs. Feva.
McNabb 5/78/40 LOL
Damn.... Paging Dr. Vick..... Paging Dr. Vick.... This shtein is Straight Surgical!
After all your whining before kick-off, who's still worried about Hoyda Don bringing this back?
He got caked, he's satisfied. Skins suck, it's beautiful.
At the half:
Vick = 14/18, 264 yds, 3 TDs; 6 carries, 66 yds, 2 TDs
pimp = 1 catch, 88 yds, TD; 1 carry, 5 yds
Harrison = 2 rushes, 50 yds, TD; 1 catch, 15 yds
mack = 2 catches, 49 yds, TD; 1 carry, 11 yds
shady = 8 rushes, 30 yds; 5 catches, 51 yds, TD
Avant = 3 catches, 53 yds
Donnie = 9/16, 206 yds, 2 TDs, 2 INTs
This is the best I've seen a QB play since Brady lit up the Bills back in 2007. Also, this easily tops McNabb's best game as an Eagle which was IMO the Packers @ Eagles in 2004 when TO and Westbrook ripped up the Packers.

Harrison was ballin at the end of last season and this year got no burn. He's pretty good. I think on the right team he could be a #1 back, but I'll keep him here for the next 5 years as a backup RB any day. He's pretty damn good.

When Andy Reid is able to run this well against you in obvious garbage time, that's as much of an indictment of a defense as 59 points on the scoreboard.
Harrison's gotta be over 100 yds now...
using any timeouts at all in a situation like this is either:
rank insult to injury
or
baldface ineptitude
Ernie Sims getting x-rays for ankle injury.

The only explanation I can come up with for Vick's performance is that he borrowed Steve Young's Magical Mormon Underwear.
the one I come up with is more pedestrian: prison rung his bell and he's grown up a bit
it's a hell of a story whatever it is
I just figured he took the edge off before the game by choking a labradoodle.
I'll send ten bucks to the labradoodle rescue freaks if it will make them feel better about the situation

the critical question is how long can Vick keep this up?
Great game but I don't expect to see anything like it again this season. Which doesn"t really matter as long as Vick plays well enough to win.

Or ever again in our lifetime from an Eagle.
On the 1st play, Vick launched the ball from their own 4 yd line. Pimp caught the ball at the Skins' 35. 61 yds in the air. Damn, that's a helluva lot of space to defend on one play. The great thing about it is, I'm not sure Vick could overthrow Pimp if he tried.
I can't believe what I just saw.
IGY furiously whacking it for three straight hours?

http://www.extremeskins.com/showthread.php?338973-Landry-accused-of-spitting-on-eagles-center..
QuoteMcGlynn also blamed taterskins safety LaRon Landry for a pregame skirmish. McGlynn also said he was spit on by Landry twice during the game.
"That really fired us all up, and we really put the afterburners on," McGlynn said. "It's good to come out and score 60 points almost. We all want to play the game with all the respect in the world. When people come out and disrespect it like that, I think you've got to be more respectful of the game. That's just a terrible thing. I think we just looked at it as 'Hey, let's keep pouring it on."
Has there ever been a better performance by a quarterback?
Ok, so we have Landry spitting on McGlynn and now this

sean taylor would be proud.
I feel like a poem right about now.

O God... This kid really is turning into Sean Taylor! I love it but LaRon keep the spit to yourself next time sir.
Hail!
Oh god how i love their site. Sean Taylor, helluva role model.
But, right before he died, he cried, "mother mary save me!!'"

I think it's very possible Vick will keep playing at a high level for a while. Maybe not like tonight, that was an aberration. But the real question is can he keep up a very high level - enough to put the team on his back if need be - through the season and to the SB if they can get that far. Right now, I'm starting to sip a little koolaid. If the Giants get back on track, their D be a good test.
No doubt, next Sunday night is the big test. Vick pulls this shtein, hell a portion of this performance, against the G Men my head may explode.

Holy hell what a farging game. Just amazing. I would let Vick buttrape me in prison if we could go back in time.
Awesome farging game.
Resign Vick immediately please. Press conference for contract tomorrow. Make it happen.

This is my favorite thing that McGlynn said about Landry:
Quote"Basically a guy tried to come over and intimidate us," McGlynn said. "It was [No.] 30 again. He said some things to our star player he shouldn't have said, and he got his. You can see on that first play. He got his."

Landry and Hall were telling him he's going 'Night Night'. Real classy.
Interviewed after the game Desean said "yeah man, that got us fired up, we were like a bunch of caged pit bulls ready to attack"
Wrong choice of words...perhaps.
QuoteHis back foot was on his own 3-yard line when he launched a pass that arrived in DeSean Jackson's arms at the taterskins' 34-yard line. Safety LaRon Landry has had a Pro Bowl-caliber season, but he never had a chance on the play. In fact, Eagles coach Andy Reid seemed a bit surprised that Landry was even close enough to clutch Jackson's jersey for a moment.
"The safety did a better job than we anticipated," deadpanned Reid.
Happy Andy can be fun.
If you want some good ES reading material here you go. An Eagles fan started a thread a week ago and they talked all kind of trash, now they're backtracking: http://www.extremeskins.com/showthread.php?338453-Thanks-God-Mcnabb-is-you-guys-problem-Now.-Mcnabb-been-benched-on-2-different-teams
They have absolutely nothing in the arsenal except the ol' "How many Super Bowls you got?" defense. Nothing. Very sad.
Great sig pic for this guy:

Really is that why he didn't start ahead of Mcnabb last year? he was the Option QB that never got far...as for your signature....If you truly knew football you would not have posted this. The Colts made the classic mistake of not Jaming the reciever at the line of Scrimage and they got scorched.
Let me break it down!
The Eagles showed why they have not won a superbowl. Instead of getting an O-line and a second deep reciever threat to take the heat off of Jackson, they release The the QB that has gone to a superbowl. This to a team in the same division. Vick is a decent QB but still lacks a second down field threat. Oh and lets not forget that Eagles WR's get the drops when they take hard hits (enter dirty thirty).
Andy Reed and your Front office has failed you.

Another problem is the receiver core. We don't have consistent receivers. We have an opportunity right now, to sign a good WR that McNabb is familiar with. His name is Kevin Curtis. He is very fast and can find the soft spot in the coverage. Let me also add that he probably could have helped us beat the Eagles last night, but Shanahan is passing up on this opportunity. Get rid of Joey Galloway and sign Kevin Curtis.
I feel like we won the super bowl last night that was farging amazing. It was like the Cowboys beat down 2 years ago at end of the season. I hope every game here on out they get into it with the other team and get fired up, man oh man! What perfect timing to bring that ass whooping to Skins after Snyder throws away 75 mil on A has been QB
Things are bad when there are fans looking for some hot Kevin Curtis action.
my boner will not go away.
Some would say to consult a physician, but I think you're more creative than that.
Did anyone record this, and how can I get a copy?
thanks to 8 TDs and a win, everyone in the area gets 10 free toppings at Papa Johns today (http://order.papajohns.com/specialOffers.html)
Long as you don't get stuck coming in behind Andy
Did anyone catch Gruden calling the double reverse play before it happened? I thought it was funny at the time but kinda scary that a former coach in the booth can read Reid's play calling that well.
Gruden outcoached Reid big time in the 2002 NFC Championship game. Would not want to see him get the Cowboys gig.

My guess is one of the players told/hinted that to Gruden, like Pimp told them they want to go long on the first play. DoucheGruden then tried to make it seem like his idea.
Yeah I'm sure he knew the play would be run at some point during the game....but he called it on the exact play.

wow, that was awesome. the poster they kept going on about the eagles having no other wr to compliment jackson was epic.
Apparently Maclin doesn't exist??
it took another skins fan to point out the fact that he does and then the knuckle dragger responded with "but maclin can't get off the line a scrimage to go deep"
to be fair most of these guys probably spend too much time harvesting rodent hides to be bothered knowing who is on a divisional rivals roster.
Avant would be the #1 receiver in Washington.
so would kevin curtis apparently
And he would have torched this defense.
The other CF would like to see Curtis teamed up with Riley Cooper. Unstoppable.
Don't forget Celek in the receiving mix, and Schmitt looks like he has some pretty good hands too.
No, go ahead and forget Celek. It'll be okay.
Man, after having time to reflect on the game all day, I have to say this is one of the greatest wins I've ever experianced, regular season or otherwise. What a friggen' game! A record setting blowout over the hated taterskins gets me fired up. I loved last nights game, and will have a better week because of it.

i had this weird feeling at one point during the game that stewart bradley was going to score a TD. gave my friend 40-1 odds that it would happen during the current drive. wouldn't you know the VERY next play, the INT went right through Stewie's hand on about the 10 yard line.
