Title: 2010 Week Two: Lions discussion
Post by: PoopyfaceMcGee on September 13, 2010, 02:53:53 PM
Save the predictions for the other thread, but this should be a fun contest!

Likely starting at QB - Shaun Hill and Michael Vick
Likely not going to be on my television - this abortion of a game

Probably not going to be on tv in the NYC area but I would love to see this game cause of how much of a mess this team is right now.

Kolb won't practice until Friday at the earliest.

Which means it's Vick time again this weekend. Maybe they can win a game.

all the 5 people are gravitating to vick in order to "win"

win what. 7 games instead of 5? people just dont seem to get it.

its either kolb or bust. if he sucks this thing is over.

I just want to go ahead and say that the season is over because week one is the be all end all of what the team is going to be.

Under Reid this team almost always sucks at the beginning of the season.  People need to chill the farg out.  Fact of the matter is they played what many people think is a Super Bowl contender pretty tough yesterday.

Reid may be one of the worst in game coaches in NFL history.

not the end all be at all...just a great indication of what you'll see Kolb doing for the majority of the season with that makeshift o-line

kolbs best game will probably be against the Jags in week 3 where he throws for 300 and 3 TD's, then we can all talk about his accuracy again and phenomenal command of the offense

i cant think of a uniform where they dont look better than white
its one of the reasons the giant jerseys are probably the best in the nfl

My whole viewpoint here is that Vick actually did hard time.  How many other pro athletes have gotten away with crimes against PEOPLE with a slap on the wrist?
Kobe - rapist
Leonard Little and Donte Stallworth - DUI murderers

The cavalier way in which that guy dismisses the ideas of redemption and paying one's debt to society exposes his utter lack of persepctive.

I'm no fan of Vick (I think he's an idiot) or what he did (which was cruel and cowardly), but the dude spent prime years of his life in jail and was essentially bankrupted by the experience. I'd say his pound of flesh has been paid.

he lost over an estimated 100 million dollars, spent 2 years in jail.  I'm so tired of the people i know who cant get over it.  The guy lost more than anyone from his stupid and cruel acts, but he paid his debt.

cmon Sea, you cant repay your debt to society and still be a millionaire...no way. you have to turn homeless, be giving/receiving blow jobs for money, go to rehab, be a master  of the custodial arts, then your back to good terms with the american people.

Not that I believe that story but after his concussion Kolb did come back right? Vick only took over after halftime. So how come he was cleared to come back in but at halftime they decided not to? Maybe its true for just that one half of football. I doubt its true for the rest of the season. Kolb is a natural born leader and everyone of the team loves his nuts.

Most 2 minute offenses require some sort of big play to put points on the board.

Vick's not the saviour, of course, but do the Birds win with Kolb in there?  It's pretty academic, this team blows, but still...
Title: Re: 2010 Week Two: Lions discussion
Post by: Sgt PSN on September 19, 2010, 05:06:28 PM
I mentioned it in another thread, not sure which one, but I'd like to see Vick get another start and bump his trade value.  With him, this team still isn't going anywhere other than maybe the middle of the 1st round of the draft.  If he gets the start next week and plays well, you don't think a team like Arizona wouldn't be willing to make a move to get him this year?  I'm impressed with what he's done but there's pretty much a 0% chance the Eagles would bring him back next year and I think they need to try and make a move within the next week or so when his trade value is at it's peek.
Title: Re: 2010 Week Two: Lions discussion

There is a 0% chance they trade him.  The wild cat is way too important to this team.

Great third quarter by the defense.  McDermont was getting a little to excited there with his early celebrating. Now the first half was ayrite, the fourth was an abortion.  Gaither was horrible.

Agreed that Kolb would have most likely been crippled today.

That's a fantastic analysis of what happened and what might have happened if they had a completely different offensive gameplan with Kolb.

LOL, yes...clearly they would be All World if Kevin Kolb was playing.

I would like to take everyone that's arguing about Kolb and Vick, and line them up in front of a brick wall. Maybe offer a cigarette and a blindfold to them.

Its not an argument for me. Nor should it be one.

Kolb will start and that's fine. Because he won't last a game behind that line and Vick will end up playing anyway.

Excellent idea.   :yay

The arguing is pointless anyway because after Alex Smith stinks it up tonite; the Niners will make the trade for Vick.  Rumor is that Vick, Gore, & Westy will be running the option in SF.  ;D

The oline is shtein. Vick is the best option for our current situation. That being obvious, Reid will bring Kolb back when he is ready so they can try and justify him being the number 1. The fans will just need to deal with it. GO EAGLES...

The fans should embrace it, you nitwits. This year will be painful but the team needs to figure out what they have in Kolb. This year is the year to do it. Yes it sucks watching them play ugly and/or lose, but for farg's sake how hard is it to understand what the team needs to do? Christ.

But but but but Vick could totally lead them to the super bowl!

Yes. It's a rebuilding time if you like it or not. It just doesn't make sense for Reid to be here. I'd rather have a new coach to go with this rebuilding. Reid has never done well with using players to the best of their abilities, he just fills the spots and has faith in the plan.

REID WILL NOT BE FIRED UNTIL THE WHOLE THING FALLS APART.

Idiots.

If anything wanting Reid to be fired should inspire you to see more of Kolb. If Kolb is good, the team is good and has a future. If he's awful Reid moves much closer to being fired. Playing Vick does nothing for the future and does nothing for or against Reid's job security.

IDIOTS.

I will not stand for anything less than an undefeated rebuilding year.

Vick is the best option for our current situation.

Couldn't disagree more.  With Vick, this is maybe an 8-8 team.  With Kolb, you get down to the 5 win range....maybe worse if he ends up being terrible.  The current situation is that this is not a good football team regardless of who the QB is and regardless of how infuriating it would be to watch week in and week out, the worse this team does this year, they better off they are next year and beyond.

Think about it.....a 3-13 season basically gave us (for the most part) 12 good regular season football and5 deep playoff runs to watch.

Vick is better suited to be a winning QB with the o-line situation. Thats a fact. Kolb already got killed and will all season long. RJS is completely right, losing is ideal if it means them sending AR to the glue factory.

For Reid to be fired he would need to have Kolb fail overall and then have his next pet project fails as well. So we are in for at least this rebuild and another one if needed.
