Title: JJ Arrington, Philadelphia Eagle
Post by: The BIGSTUD on July 30, 2010, 09:52:31 PM
Traded to the Broncos for Joe Mays.

Not sure what to think of it. Maybe they want him as a KR since Hobbs is a starting CB now? Mays wasn't going to make the team anyway with the new LBs in the mix.

I added him to my Madden roster last year. He sucked.

Wasn't he coming off surgery last year though?

Some Tweets from Adam Caplan

QuoteArrington better blocker in passing situations than McCoy.

QuoteMays was a #3 MLB for the Eagles, so to get a decent third-down RB and a future pick, that's good value.

Can't argue with the better blocking..Don't want McCoy 3rd and long

Can't really rip this too much; see what he's got.

Now that I read into it about the 6th if Arrington doesnt make the squad, I bet they want the 6th more than they want Arrington.

Supposedly Charles Scott as struggled in camp so far? I'm not really sure what he's struggling at since they haven't even gone full contact yet. Unless he sucks as a receiver or something, but he was never used that way much in college so if the Eagles thought he would could be used out of the backfield then it was stupid on their part.

Arrington can catch the ball and plays STs.

Apparently Scott's got hands of stone.

I bet JJ Arrington contributes more to the Eagles than Lorenzo Booker did.

Booker continues to be one of the biggest disappointments for me personally.  He was spectacular at FSU and I was sure he was going to be an interchangeable complement to Westbrook.

Apparently Mays was not going to make the team.

Yeah, I don't see how he would have.  Arrington probably has as good of a chance as Scott, Mallett, or Buckley.

These are the types of moves you get when the GMs get bored

At the very least they got a 6th for a guy they were convinced they didn't want.  What's the harm?  If JJ helps, even better.

Moreno and Buckhalter went down with injury today.  Maybe the Broncos will try Dawkins at RB.

I hear the Eagles would be willing to deal Arrington for a 1st or 2nd rounder.

Do we get to keep the 2012 6th since he won't be on the team on opening day?
