I think this week was a extremely sly ploy by the coaching staff to back door our way into the Superbowl.
Next Saturday night the two kids go long all day, the rest of the crew stays on the line and blocks. The defense stops enough for the offense to win the game
Birds 35
Cowbells 28
Times yours.
my heart says the birds win. my eyes and brain tell me otherwise. my mom says hi.
three things to look for in the playoffs:
1. a quarterback who is calm, cool and precise.
2. a running game that can help control the field and keep the defense off the field.
3. a defense that can stop the run and also excel at limiting third down success for the opposing offense.
this bullshtein team has none of them.
despite all this i think the eagles will win it in nailbiting fashion because romo's a piece of shtein and wade phillips is an even bigger moron than reid.
eagles 20
dallas 17
elevenhundred to nothing, not the eagles.
Eagles suck, prove it again on Saturday.
Oh, well, I'm busy as hell at work, can do without the distraction of caring.
If McNabb plays well, Eagles win. If not, Eagles don't. Regardless of how the defense plays.
Cop out, I know. I'll give a homertastic 38-6 good guys win Dallas chokes!
What would be better for the team in the long run? If you believe there is no legitimate shot at the SB this year, would losing better propel the team in the off-season, forcing acknowledgment from ReidCo that significant upgrades must occur? B/c if they dribble a win this week and maybe even next, the same actions seen after last seasons NFCCG will be in order including our old friends smug parsimony (Dawkins), hubris (Andrews Sisters), and criminal neglect (LB's).
Yeah, I know horrific season-ending losses don't seem to impact off-season decisions, but two in a row to the assboys (and the division, #2 seed and bye and elimination) will get some attention. 'specially after andy's contract teabagging and Banners bold statements at the time.
Regardless, 10-1 against losers and 0-4 against playoff teams ain't gonna magically change in six days...
Reid is far too stupid to realize he's the problem. So it's a moot point.

I can see a win this week and then a beat down the following, right after they get my hopes up again. I will not care until game day. I am still numb from that shtein show on Sunday. Not much to get excited for when you know the next 3 years will be the same shtein over and over.

The Eagles come out and look fired up, then hit some type of adversity, a fumble, interception, stupid penalty, and fold up like lawn chairs. Dallass 31, Birds 10.
While I didn't think they'd win last week...I think they win handily this week.
whats most depressing about this game is that there is no confidence in the defense OR the offense...
i have little faith that the defense can hold dallas down and about the same amount of faith that donovan will be able to score one more point than whatever dallas ends up with
I'm going with 26-17.
No idea who gets what score though.

Hope I'm wrong. The one real hope I have for the game is Wade fargs up the game plan since he's one of the worst HC in the league. He didn't farg it up the first two games though so I fear the chances of that magically happening are low.
the only hope i see is that the eagles cant play any worse
its a pathetic reason but other than that what is there
they havent beaten a good team all year and dallas has outscored them this year 44-16

Sean Jones also getting more reps than Macho at FS
I agree with both moves. No more "showing the youth", get the guys in there who can anchor the run and have been in the NFL awhile.

but but but, the broncos didn't make the playoffs so that means dawkins is totally washed up, right? joe banner rulez!
Dawkins would not have made a single bit of difference this season. They had a chance at a bye week without him, and the offense would have still scored zero points with him.
hard to say definitively one way or another but i feel like they def win one more game with him
shtein perhaps dallas at home or he doesnt let oakland happen...or oakland doesnt happen because trotter isnt on the field because they wouldnt have felt the need to get some leadership on the team
then last week doesnt matter

this was one of things that I was talking to my boy about today. McDermott is getting more frustrating by the hour. No way in hell JJ is shuffling this much, especially at playoff time. Not one guy is that much better than the other (if not at all), run with his ass, and let him try to improve as each game passes.
he should be focusing more on scheme and how to utilize each players ability than this musical chairs bullshtein

And if JJ was frustrated he wouldn't show it. But he would make changes. I think McDermott will be alright in the long run. I mean, this is his rookie year too...so he has to get his own feel.
Instead of changing players mid-season, Jim Johnson probably would have waited. He'd give a guy two or three seasons before deciding to try someone else in there.
My breakdown, although nobody cares:
why the Eagles can win:
1. there were plays to be made on offense, especially in the passing game and they just weren't made. whether it was the deep ball to Desean, the ball to Maclin, or other passes that were dropped. receivers were open. the way the Cowboys are trying to cover pimp leaves Maclin and Celek with favorable matchups and they need to exploit those matchups and the players need to win those matchups.
2. the revamped offensive line played well for the most part and gave Donovan plenty of time to make plays. you have to worry about Dallas making adjustments and bringing more pressure, but that would open up more opportunities down the field.
3. once McDermott changed his initial awful gameplan the defense played...ok. they still have to play better to win, but they did only give up 7 points in the 2nd half. now, you can account that to Dallas taking their foot off the pedal due to the fact that it was obvious the Eagles weren't going to do anything in the game.
why Dallas can win:
1. they won the last two games, and obviously the last one was convincing. they have all momentum and have an offensive and defensive gameplan to get the job done. 1 offensive touchdown in 2 games against a great scoring offense is obviously something to hang your hat on. as i mentioned above though, i think the last game was a little bit misleading in that there were plays to be made and the Eagles didn't make them, but a shutout is a shutout.
2. they are the more talented team, they have more playmakers on their defensive line and defensive back field. they are also playing better right now. romo is playing the best football of his career and the line is giving him a ton of time. their running backs are healthy
i definitely see a close game, because i can't see the eagles playing as poorly as they did last week. and if you had to play the same team two weeks in a row, it's almost to your advantage to get killed because mentally the team knows they can't play any worse and there is nowhere to go but up.
Eagles - 31
Cowboys - 30
damn...Mo getting deep on us

yeah, i can't believe i actually put thought in that, farg me
Just be there for me on Saturday night.
Eagles defense has given up 27 passing TDs on the year, 15 of which have come when they blitz.
Not good.
Linebacker and safety talent might help with those numbers. Might.

McNabb overthrowing the Pimp
McCoy the leading rusher with 5 attempts
Saved you from having to watch the real thing on Saturday.
it pretty much mirrored every eagles games sans the game winning drive on the final possession.
John Lynch:
Quote2. Of the teams that lost last Sunday, who has the best chance of winning this weekend?
I would say the Eagles. And if you watched their game in Dallas, you wouldn't say that at all. For me, it's hard to buy into these Cowboys. If I just looked at the two games these teams played this year, and where Dallas is at right now, I would say Dallas is definitely the better Football team. I say that because they have beaten Philadelphia up front in both games and I'm a big believer in that you win or lose games up front.
I think the wild card in the whole deal is Brian Westbrook; he always has come up big for the Eagles come playoff time. A lot of people say he hasn't been the same since these concussions, but a competitor like that is going to turn it on for this game. I think when you get Westbrook going then all of a sudden DeSean Jackson becomes a lot more explosive. And then Brent Celek, the tight end, and all the weapons start settling in.
The Eagles also have the benefit of having another week with the offensive line together. When you study the matchup at the quarterback position, I like Philadelphia there. Plus, I think it is hard to beat a team three times in a year.
so dallas dominates both lines and thats where games are won except this game where a concussed 31 year old running back who basically hasnt produced all year will be the difference
duly noted
it's john lynch, dude was getting spoon fed applesauce when he wrote that in purple crayon.
I have no idea but
Eagles will score
Happy Scrappy's last game
Nick Cole's got more rep's
The Eagles showed ALL 6 running plays to cowturds last week
I think pimp's pissed
I think Celek's pissed
McNabb can't remember well enough to be pissed
Eagles still can't tackle
Birds 23 - 20 in OT
i dont even know what i would do if they beat the cowboys in overtime on a saturday night in the playoffs but i fear for my life just thinking about it
look me in the eye and tell me donovan mcnabb is going to win an overtime playoff game
1. eagles lose toss
2. dallas fumbled kickoff
3. akers fg
4. hugs and kisses on me
how did the game get into ot?
logically at best its going to be a close game and itll come down to either mcnabb leading a gw drive or the defense needing to come up with a big stop. now, again, tell me how in the farg thats not gonna result in pain.
romo isnt exactly mr clutch....why cant neither qb win it
furthermore why cant mcnabb have the ball in a tie game in regulation and not win it
then fast forward to my scenario
shouldnt the fact that the eagles only way of winning is some kind of scenario like that lead you to believe that they arent going to win?
and the fact that youre praying on a fumbled kicked off in ot speaks volumes about your delusion. go watch mad men you dork.

The fact that most casinos in Vegas have had ~60-63% of the money for the game coming in on Dallas -4 and it's either stayed at that line or dropped to -3.5 makes me think a lot of smart money is coming in on the Eagles. Still can't find much rationale for picking the Eagles, but usually going against the public is a safe bet.

The only positive is they were both there last weekend and she kept quiet and just watched the game besides mumbling a few things to my friend about how good Dallas was.
