i'm still a mcnabb fan. but farg it, i'm even done with him now too. not going to try to defend him any more unless he somehow manages to win it all and has a big game in doing so. and given his 10 year body of work, i don't have to worry about defending him again.
I don't know why anybody is upset about this game. You were told during the week they weren't going to win it. Next week will probably be more of the same.
mcnabb is a bitch. period. if you watched the game you can see this. there's nothing to argue about. if they even put up a td or two, this is still currently a game. when you have maclin, celek, pimp, mccoy.. etc.. on offense you have no excuse for putting up 0 points.
not winning is one thing. but getting down right embarrassed by a division rival in a game that not only clinches the division but also gives you a first round bye and at least 1 home playoff game is farging unacceptable.
it's not like this was some classic nfc east battle that the eagles came up short in. i'd still be pissed at a loss but as a fan, all we can really expect/hope to see is the team we farging obsess over actually shows up and puts on a good show. instead we get the same crappy re-run we've seen time and time again, year after year.
this is a case of a head coach not having his team prepared. again. a quarterback not stepping up in a big game. again. a defense not able to execute simple fundamentals like tackling. again.
if this team were a movie it would be the biggest box office bomb of all time because no one wants to pay to see something they already know the end to.
farg these clowns.
Had Dallas been able to get a bye week out of this win, it would be a 40 point blowout. There was no way on earth the Eagles were going to be competitive this week.

I don't see how anyone can blame anybody but EVERYBODY. No one showed up for this game. Except for maybe Celek.
Missed throws, drops, fumbles, ill-timed penalties, terrible terrible play calling on both sides of the ball. Where's the running game in the first half? You've got 3 RB's capable of carrying the ball.....Where's the blitzing? It was apparent from the start of this game (not to mention anyone who knows even a fraction of football) that Romo picks apart zone defense when there isn't any pressure in his face. Why would you wait until the 31st minute of the game to start throwing the kitchen sink at him?
They looked like they were playing with the "we're still playing next week" mentality when they should have been playing with a "I want a break next week" mentality.
Here's to hoping that Romo and Phillips continue their lack of playoff success.
I just stripped off all the eagles gear and threw it in a heap. Any chance that farging plane will fly over Chitown airspace? Anyone got a Stinger?
mcnabb again smiling after going three and out a thousand times is all you need to know about this team
but even with that this was a coaching debacle of the highest degree....jim johnson would have never let this happen...dallas game plan = running a man into a defender and then having someone else run underneath that route....and the eagles bit on it every farging time

The FAA should cancel all flights coming out of Dallas into the Philadelphia area, literally. This was possibly the most pathetic loss I've ever seen. The Eagles players should be forced to stay in Dallas wearing absolutely nothing but pink Philadelphia Eagles gear, 10 gallon hats, and the "boots wit da fur." Hopefully a week of being ridiculed and treated like shtein by the Dallas population will get them into an I-GOTTA-MURDER-EVERYBODY-IN-THIS-fargIN-TOWN mode, and maybe then they'll be able to come out and kick the Cowboys ass like the way they should.

even if they get lucky and happen to win next week this team has no ability to win 3 games straight against good teams. because of mcnabbs sporadic inconsistent play and inability to show up for big games, but obviously also because reid is a horrible fat ass.

If we lose to Dallas next week, save your anger and hope Dallas gets in a plane crash to the next destination. That would be awesome.
I figured the playoff run would end with Favre having his balls bronzed by Joe Buck after the NFCCG in Minnesota, but I'm pretty sure they're going to bow out gracelessly in Dallas next week.
the one positive is that they cant possibly lose next week in dallas as bad as they did this week
or can they?
40-3?
26-17 Eagles
today's gameplan was a brilliant strategy by coach reid because now the eagles can just stay in dallas and prepare all week without having to worry about flying back to philly and being jet lagged. when you take the energy saved by lack of travel needs and add it to the lack of energy they put forth on the field today, they'll have plenty in the tank for next week.

Are you farging kidding me? Nice answer Mr. Leader. Douche.
where are all the mcnabb homers now. either turned to the dark side or disappearing into a deep dark cave where they can blame yet another failed season on tracy white or jason avant
Anyone who blames McNabb more than anybody else for this loss is wrong.
Anyone who says McNabb played good enough to win is wrong.
The end.
i honestly think you have a learning disability
only a true homer would try and sell the "lets blame shady mccoy, the offensive line, trotter and britt reid as much as mcnabb" line.
it didnt matter how the farging defense played they werent winning this game because mcnabb was his usual awful self in a big game. end of story. get off his nuts he doesnt even want your support.
yeah mcnabb definitely thought this was a conf. championship game and gagged accordingly
but that said the defense definitely lost this one....specifically the LB's
McNabb falls to about #4 on the list of reasons why they didn't win this one, jewfag.
The offensive and defensive game plans, and just the play of the defense in general, were absolutely terrible. After that, you get into McNabb's missed deep pass to Jackson and his fumble in the redzone.
even if the defense plays better, lets even say well, they still lose 10-0 or 13-0 or whatever.
since mcnabb and reid are choking brothers in arms, they go hand in hand getting top blame; but yes, the D is a clear no. 2
lol yeah the defense that got virtually raped in the first half is reason #2. Okay.
When they finally played the Eagles brand of ball in the 2nd half, they only yeilded a touchdown. A 7-0 game might prevent Reid from getting as pass happy as he did (Fat chance) and in the end, if this game was 0-0 going into the half or even 10-0, it changes the whole dynamic of the game.
McNabb has given plenty of chances to blame losses mostly on him.....but this is not one of them.
his throw behind macklin was way worse than the miss throw to pimp...in fact that was probably the biggest non play of the game....not only was it a third down conversion but he also would have run forever
7-0? what.
even a realistically good defensive performance from a team that doesnt have a good defense would be about 17 or 20 points. they still lose that way.
mcnabb didnt show, as usual. he gagged, as usual. but his defense didnt stop anybody so lets just blame other people.
Maclin had that ball right between his hands and it kept on going right through. An NFL WR is supposed to make that catch, no questions asked.
Jackson, on the other hand, was wide open and McNabb somehow with plenty of time to set his feet found a way to overthrow the fastest WR in football. Game changing play right there that can only be blamed on McNabb.
Quote from: MDS on January 03, 2010, 09:59:33 PM
7-0? what.
When the Eagles realized they couldn't sit back and let Romo pick apart a zone defense, how many points did hte Cowboys score?
7.
They play like that all game, and instead of being 17-0 going into the half maybe it's only 7-0. Or 10-0. At least then Reid can't justify completely abandoning the run game. Doesn't mean he still wouldn't, but like I said.....a closer game completely changes the dynamics of it.
haha
the maclin ball sums up mcnabb career. could it have caught? yes. could it have been thrown better? yes. but no matter how you shake it, the job didnt get done. thats basically mcnabb in a nutshell. shine him up all you want, blame his wrs all you want, dook still hasnt won jack and wont win jack.
and they didnt have a farging prayer in this game jackson hr ball caught or not.
I guess the defense stinking up the joint the entire first half had nothing to do with the game? I got ya.
McDermott should be set on fire for his gameplan in the first half.
No PG that was all McNabb's fault. Didn't you get the memo?
nobodys trying to skate over the egg the defense laid.
but if even the defense plays well, again, it doesnt make a difference. they werent winning this game good D plan or not.
munson is a slow motion replay kind of fan
i was surrounded by douchbags at the bar today that blamed mack on the play because they watched the replay that made it look like he dropped it...but if you know what youre watching you could see that donovan threw the ball five hundred thousand miles per hour behind him
it was uncatchable...period
Spoken like somebody who truly has never played an athletic sport in his life.
There's a difference between going into halftime tied or down by a score, and going in down by 3 scores. If the defense doesnt sit on its heels and let Romo/Barber march up and down the field on em, it very well could have been a completely different ball game. Not saying it would have been, but when you're offense is struggling and the D goes out there and makes some big stops and keeps the game close, it changes everything.

IGY I didn't need to see the replay to see the ball go right through his hands.
Yes, it was behind him. Yes, it should have been a better throw.
ANd yes, it hit him right between his hands and in the NFL, a WR (a first round draft pick at that) should be catching balls that hit both of their hands. Reaching back for a ball is not an easy thing to do, but it's something most WR's in the NFL can and do on a regular basis. lol at "uncatchable". Please.
the offense wasnt scoring a point in this game. so unless you delusionaly expect special teams and defense to single handedly win a game, then go for that mode of though.
If it goes through your hands, catch it. Shotgun snaps, passes behind you, babies, whatever.

the ball went through maclins hand so the simple answer is to say he should have caught it. thats what people are gonna see. but its good to know mcnabb is more accurate when he sucks on wilmas nipples than when hes playing qb.
passing like that would be fine if he had brady or peyton manning throwing the ball. he has mcnabb who might be the single greatest reason to run the ball in history.
Next week we're going to see three times as many running plays. 20 of them Vick runs up the middle for 1-2 yards.

Another thing to point out is they didn't get the screen game going much all game either. Save the one to Celek that ended up getting called back and the one McCoy fell over on, I can't think of any other screens they ran.
also let it be known than westbrook runs about as fast as me at this point. good lord is he done.
screen plays are another thing thast doesnt work very well when youre down multiple scores
dallas went like 30 plays in a row with out being stopped to open the game
that pretty much blows up any gameplan you might have
where's sunny? i feel better when sunny is here after games like this.
Being down 7 or 14 in the first half is no reason to change your gameplan, especially when you're still working on your scripted 15 plays. Those plays not working, now that's a good reason to change things up.
you're all idiots for finger pointing back and forth.
everyone that stepped on that field sucked ass today. from the head coach on down to the 53rd player on the roster. you can try ranking them in order in terms of suckiness all day long and it isn't going to take away from the fact that absolutely no one made plays today. not one single farging player. there's going to be times when the offense struggles and the defense has to pick up the pace. that didn't happen. there's going to be times when the d struggles and the offense has to carry the load. that didn't happen. maybe mcnabb's off and the receivers or running game pick him up. didn't happen. or the run d sucks but the pass d steps up and makes plays. didn't happen. or maybe the special teams steps in and provides a spark. didn't farging happen.
this was the most complete and total team failure as i've ever seen from this team. nit pick all you want about the qb or the coach or the kicker or this play call and that playcall, but you're only ignoring the big picture. this team sucks huge sweaty aidscycles..
What was up with that one toss to McCoy where he caught the ball and then fell down for a four-yard loss? It looked like Pee Wee.

munson is a slow motion replay kind of fan
i was surrounded by douchbags at the bar today that blamed mack on the play because they watched the replay that made it look like he dropped it...but if you know what youre watching you could see that donovan threw the ball five hundred thousand miles per hour behind him
it was uncatchable...period
Aikman, who is a bonafide McNabb hater, even said Maclin should have caught it. I don't know, it was thrown hard and behind, but I still think he shoudl have made the play.
trust me watch the game again...and i currently am on dvr....it was uncatchable
imagine you standing 9 feet away from me and running as hard as you possibly can in one direction and i wind up and throw a ball as hard as i can a foot behind you and you have to react and reach back and grab it
its seriously impossible
all donovan had to do was softly toss it into macks belly but instead he panicked and sqeezed the ball like it banged his wife
the ball went through maclins hand so the simple answer is to say he should have caught it. thats what people are gonna see. but its good to know mcnabb is more accurate when he sucks on wilmas nipples than when hes playing qb.
thats what im saying...we have "fans" like munson who see a slow motion replay and judge a play by that
as for the play calling i will side with andy and say that this is one game where i wont blame him for not running the ball.....the disgraceful defense put them in a hole that didnt allow them to call running plays
lol IGY, you throwing a ball at a tiny woman is not the same as an NFL 1st round WR. Larry Fitzgerald catches that ball. Hell Jason Avant has caught balls like that this year. The ball hits you in the hands, you catch it. That's been the rule since he's been playing peewee I'm sure, and now he's getting paid millions to do it. It's not like he was outstretched reaching behind his head diving backwards.....Seriously, stop. THe throw was off, the lack of a catch was even worse.
As for the running...I agree for the most part. But they could have tried to give it a bit more of an effort in the 1st half....but only 5 times? How do you expect to even set up the PA for the rest of the game if you're only handing it off 5 times? One of them on an end around to DeSean.
In the first half, even if your'e down 14-0, you still gotta try and establish the run. It's what's helped them on the 6 game winning streak, but the minute it stopped working tonight they said farg it.

did you guys notice dallas ran the screen play twice in the first 30 or 35 plays and both times they ran it when the eagles blitzed? it was as if they KNEW the defense was going to blitz before there was any positive indication it was going that way.
my buddy chris (who played pro ball) called it both times.
shtein was freaky.
Your buddy is that dead cat-faced dude from the Bengals?
lol

when your offensive line is getting sodomized by jay ratliff and youre down by multiple scores its probably time to chuck it around as opposed to runniong leonard weaver for negative yards
a double dose of stacy & shawn andrews is needed here.
Quote from: ice grillin you on January 03, 2010, 10:24:21 PM
screen plays are another thing thast doesnt work very well when youre down multiple scores
dallas went like 30 plays in a row with out being stopped to open the game
that pretty much blows up any gameplan you might have
Well that's why I tried to tell Jewboy that being down 7-0 or 10-0 at half makes it a whole different ball game than 17-0.
When one side of the ball is struggling like the O was, if the defense steps up and punches the Cowboys in the mouth in the first half, it changes the dynamics...the way the game is called, the intensity of the players on the sidelines, etc....not saying it would have swung the game in the Eagles favor, but it gives them a chance. Being down 17-0 before the first half is even up is a heart-sinker. Especially when the team already knows they're playing next week and doesn't seem to give a farg if they win.

it always starts with the coach. and it's not a new avatar. it's an old one i had to dig out of the closet. not to mention that there's no room for me to add anyone else in there.
You could squeeze Banners sniveling little head in there somewhere
cant believe eagles dallas is sat night at 8
Easy said Fox confirmed it was a 1 PM sunday start.... ???
nope
sat nite at 8
which is weird because thats normally the game that gets the least ratings

you and matty
nbc gets its pick of the 2 games and the best one goes @ 8
im shocked this is so cause now the zona games kicks of at 11.
Is this confirmed? Sat @ 8? Wow, that will help with my bowl game withdrawal.
100% don

????
11 local time in zona
fox gets 100 on sunday and that has to be an nfc game. i assumed 1100 was a no go for a kickoff, which is why the eagles/cowboys would be locked in to the 100 game.
but i suppose nobody gives a shtein about arizona.
Apparently FOX isn't locked into 1:00 like we thought. The Arizona game is 4:30 Sunday...
so theyre gonna get both 430 games? cause they scheduled their entire winter lineup around having a 430 game leading into human target and 24 in 2 weeks
i thought these things were supposed to rotate every year. the nfl must be throwing the nbc a massive favor for getting jobbed out of this eagles/cowboys game, so they get the one next week. now they owe a massive favor to cbs.
SAT 4:30 NBC = Jets/Bengals
SAT 8:00 NBC = Eagles/Cowboys
SUN 1:00 CBS = Ravens/Patriots
SUN 4:30 FOX = Packers/Cardinals
NOTHING MAKES SENSE ANYMORE

HOW THE farg DO YOU RUN MCCOY AND WEAVER ONE TIME ONLY?
I think they both fell on their first touch of the game
Nick Cole deserves all the blame, both offensively and defensively. Had Jamaaaal Jackson been in there, the Eagles win
Had I been watching the game on my left cheek-buttock and with my RIGHT leg on the coffee table, instead of the other way around...Eagles win. My bad!!!! :boom
Ha. Turd.

Agreed, no one showed up yesterday it was a pure embarrassment. I have absolutely no faith in this team.
finally......actual stats that show how farging horrible reid is at managing timeouts.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs/2009/columns/story?columnist=garber_greg&page=hotread17/ClockManagementCoaches
where does he rank? 25th out of 32. and of the 7 coaches ranked after him, 1 (zorn) no longer has a job and 5 (sparano, wisenhunt, mcdaniels, harbaugh and spagnulo) have 2 yrs or less hc experience.
And two have fallen from The Reid Tree
not that im trying to fight the whole andy reid is a terrible game manager thing, but what is the definition of a "close game."
Childress isn't much better either. The lack of respect for timeouts is contagious.

i know right. if only the article gave us something to go by........
QuoteAs Kevin Hines of the Elias Sports Bureau explains it, an instance of a "close game" is defined as being a one-possession game with 5:00 remaining in the fourth quarter. After the start of the 1994 season -- when the NFL adopted the 2-point conversion rule -- a one-possession game would be defined as a difference of 8 or fewer points between the teams.
