I hear ya :P Eagles really need to win two in a row but I just don't think we have enough D to make it happen. It took a lot of turnovers to beat the struggling 49er's. I don't have any idea what will happen in the next three games

After starting 6-0, the Broncos went 2-6. Doesn't seem like they can consistently get the running game going and Kyle Orton sucks. I think the Eagles walk away with this one: 34-17
At least I hope they do since I'll be wearing this (http://nfl.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/p4948298t130.jpg) to a bar while my buddy is wearing this (http://nfl.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/p4948286t130.jpg) and I don't want to look like a jackass

I have a hard time believing the Eagles will do anything in the playoffs if they don't at least have one home playoff game
Should be a great game against the Donkeys. Afternoon at the Linc, crowd well lubricated, cowpukes waiting in the wings for the night cap game. While I lament the passing of Dawkins I look forward to Pimp torching him.
The Eagles should have beaten the Saints. The only reason they didn't is because I was in attendance that day.

but if they have any prayer of winning the bowl, which they really dont, they need to avoid the saints and colts. those teams just matchup so well against the eagles, the colts especially.
Look this is the donkeys/eagles thread...can someone please start a playoff thread thereby separating the Donkeys/Eagles banality from the playoffs banality?
Westbrook to play on Sunday.
Don't send pimp across the middle or hang him out, Darth (if he makes contact) would be equivalent of a crushing a bug on a windshield. Westbrook means that Shady might not get Donnie killed by the Darth blitz! Always protect McRibs...
Dawkins will be behind Pimp by ten yards on post after post. McNabb, that sweet hunk of man meat, will over/underthrow him several times, but still, Dawk will be winded by the end of the game!

This is a game that I think is going to be really tough for the Eagles. I realize they haven't been playing well, but their backs are against the wall as far as the playoffs. The only real carrot the Eagles have is that they can hope the Vikings will lose one of their last two.

agree with this assessment.
it'll be interesting to see how these backs contain Marshall, who is playing completely out of his mind right now. They better wrap the shtein out of him because if the infamous eagles mis-tackles come into play this game, his YAC ranking might just go from 6th to 3rd
How do you stop Marshall? McDermott focuses the game plan on him like they did with Vernon Davis and make every one else beat you. Jabar Gaffney, Brandon Stokley and Eddie Royal in the passing game.
Or - you take the Indy approach and let Marshall get his but clamp down on every one else.
Kyle Orton is their QB. Remember this.

1st round bye is a luxury when compared to a playoff birth. that's why a game vs an AFC team is closer to meaningless than must win
a first round bye means brett favre comes to philly one last time in the divisional round. that's far from meaningless. it's brett freaking favre man.

i said it was a hell of a lot closer to meaningless than to a must win...especially when you consider the eagles can win their last two (far from likely) and still gain nothing from it
I don't know about "far from likely", but there's a good chance winning both won't be enough. The Bears are farging terrible (you should hear the fans around here), and I have little faith the Giants can win in the dome.

Dawkins to be introduced
Denver coach Josh McDaniels said that the Broncos defense will be introduced prior to this Sunday's game at the Linc. Why is that important? Because Brian Dawkins is making his return to Philadelphia and the introduction will allow the city it's chance to honor the former Eagles safety.
Back with more, including Dawkins' take on his return to Philly.

Wrong.
I'm not so sure what difference he would have made in the losses suffered earlier this year. Maybe shoring-up the suspect underneath. But now, heading down the stretch I'd mostly prefer he were still in green. Especially given the wasted roster spots and all the scheckels in Banners tight little fist that would have made retention easy.
Ronnie Lott still had a lot good football in him and those fans around here in whinerland agree his early term was a mistake. He ended up having a couple more decent years on a then-middling team. Yet his leadership to their d has never been replaced. Same here - not the end of the world, but still a mistake.

Because so many of the guys taking dawkins' place this year were successful in that spot.
Or have you all forgotten that no one can tackle for shtein on the team this year? ESPECIALLY in the secondary. ::)
That's not the right question. The correct question is would Dawkins have been substantially better? I'm not so sure.
It's also not always a good thing when safeties lead a team in tackles. Could be that the line sucks, and he's getting that tackle 10 yards down field.
His leadership has definitely been missed, but I'm not sure what he had left in the tank was much better than the crap we have now.
Mikell is a product of starting next to Dawkins. He isn't having the season he had last year, which some can argue was a pro bowl year for Mikell. Thankfully Sean Jones has stepped into the spot, which he should of had all year, but recently has whiffed on some plays. I'd much rather have Dawkins at FS than Sean Jones. There really is no argument here. Children please.

yep.
#1 and #2 on the depth chart can rotate in and out as much as they want. once the #3 comes in, then neither 1 or 2 can re-enter. that's why koy detmer was the #2 qb for all of those years when it was known that a serious mcnabb injury meant the #3 qb would be the actual backup. but since neckbeard was the holder for pat/fg attempts, he had to be 2nd on the depth chart so that he could come on and off the field for kicks.

How was that unnecessary roughness? Looked like a viciously good block to me
Looks like 5 is on a worm burner streak now...sigh.
Nice ball security loser
Macho.... not so Macho there.
Nice blocking. What happened to the run game?
DMac ain't looking so hot.
Hopefully Champ is out. Eagles offense came out of the locker room sputtering
Nice to see this disintegration before our eyes.
Now we know what the Hiroshimians and Nagasakians saw
2nd week with a crappy third. one week they won't overcome it - maybe even this week
good point by Simms, defense is not attacking. Sitting back and waiting.
Thought he should have caught it but that was great coverage
Nice spot from the jerkwad ref
Please cut Sav Rocca...
Can we please get rid of Rocca. He is horrible and gets worse every week.
rocca sucks hard at critical times. why do they stay with that farg?

No he shouldn't have... his own momentum carried him backwards.
Hey Asante, watch Hanson tackle!
Did the birds ever come out of the locker room for the second half? I know Rocca came out.
WTF, Macho... :boom
Late Christmas list:
1. Cut Rocca
2. Get Macho off Kickoff return team
you know, i hope these farg tards get it over with and choke this game away.
Harris can't be the best return man on the team, especially with how he holds the ball out there
Four 3 and outs in the 2nd half... :boo
take a good look - complete farg ups - this is how it will end in the playoffs, too.
Gone head McNabb!!!!!!
mcnabb just ran like he was pissed. as he should have been.
He pulled a hammy...
Holy shtein has he lost a step.

Rocca! He is so farging awesome! I knew he could do it. ::)
Put your farging flag away. Giving me a heart attack.
Nice stop, now move the damn ball on offense.
THAT'S A CATCH!!
crap
Looks like a catch to me
HE's IN BY A fargING MILE! farg you ref!
likely not enough to turn over by zebras- esp as a game decider
Too bad we won't be able to keep Maclin and Pimp together past their initial contracts, but they are going to be one sick WR duo for the next couple of years.
As this officiating crew is a bunch of cork sucks today, we get hosed. Where's Ed Hocholli when we need him?
Hell yeah!
great catch rook
Well kiss my meatcicle!
holy farg!

The most pissed I've EVER been over an Eagles game. Couldn't sleep all night. My cousin called the next morning and simply asked, "What'd you break?".
Much closer than it should have been, but still a win.
shtein this team kills me...
Let's go Foreskins!
Birds can't play this bad at Dallas next week.
I'm not sure of the rules - do I get to count this as a 4th quarter comeback for McNabb?
The end was more of what I was expecting anyway. Denver's not great but they're decent, shoulda been a close game.
Tomahawk-No, because McNabb smiled after one of his bad throws. Westbrook smiled when he tripped on that one come back route too...kill them both.

C'mon, the first half will be good to watch.
They played a good Broncos team...and while they pretty much shtein the bed in the 3rd quarter, they marched down the field and won with the game on the line.
Complain all you want, I didn't read this thread....they've won 6 farging games in a row. They're not all going to be pretty.
unless its 35-0 its not good enough
Of course not.

Doesn't make it any less laughable...or pathetic. lol
i wonder if you understand the definitions of the words pathetic or laughable. pathetic is an unerring faith in a team that has consistently crushed your hopes and dreams. laughable is expecting a different outcome when the same road is taken again and again and again and again.
whatever, though. i enjoyed the last 10 seconds of the game and hated the hour previous to that. i guess that makes me pathetic and/or laughable.
i can live with that.
well of course not. and the funny part was they didnt even play awful. the freakish penalty off the interception and the macho fumble gave up 14 points and took the offense out of the game. those kinds of swings happen. they recovered from it and won the game. not sure why you must whine...
at least we're not taterskins fans.
I saw this when it happened and said that he must have been pointing to Darth. That's awesome.
QuoteSheldon signals Dawk
After administering a big hit on Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall in the opening quarter, Eagles cornerback Sheldon Brown turned to the Denver bench and pointed to Dawkins.
"The reason why I pointed at him was because he taught me how to play only that way," Brown said. "And that was to punish the guy with the ball. . . . If you punish him, you set the tempo and tone and it affects the course of the game."
Marshall appeared to alligator-arm, meaning not reach out for passes, and dropped a few balls after Brown's hit.
Brown, who notched two other tackles, hurt his ankle in the third quarter and left for one play. He returned the next series, however, and played the rest of the way. Brown has now played in 139 straight games, including the postseason, and is a candidate to reach his first Pro Bowl. Rosters will be announced tomorrow.

I watched the game with Bobby Taylor's brother today. He came into our sports bar. Cool ass dude. Sorry, no Sarge-like pics though.
Sav Rocca sucks
Victor Harris, his nickname is revoked, played like shtein.
Why wasn't Sean Jones starting? Why continue to field kicks with Macho Harris? Why is Westbrook even on the field? McCoy was running great and then they went and tried Westbrook, who IMO looks done. Yeah he's been out for awhile but he looked cooked in the beginning of the year as well. I love the guy, and maybe he can come back next year and make plays like he used to, but damn for the remainder of this year, please use Weaver and McCoy and use them a lot. Hell I'd rather see Westbrook line up as the 4th receiver or 3rd. Come on Reid! Get your ass in gear christ
macho sucks...the game was farging long as farg...the dude in front of me hated me because i yelled at Andy and Donovan too much
i cant believe how long the game was...had to be the longest non OT game in league history

I don't know what game you were watching but Westbrook looked pretty good with the ball in his hands.
lol at Mussa's rambling about Westbrook.
maybe he was top heavy with the 90lb helmet he had on, but no question dook runs petrified the rest of the season :see press conference.
He's been running petrified all season before the concussions. Yeah he was injured, I understand that but would you rather a healthy and able Weaver and McCoy take the majority of the runs or a hesitant westbrook. and we're taking about playoffs here! playoffs!
These numbers don't define pretty good and I watched the entire long ass game. He didn't resemble anything of his former self nor did he look like himself early in the season.
Westys stats yesterday:
9 rushes 32 yards. long run of 9 yards
2 catches 6 yards. long of 5
For the year Westy's stats look like this:
G Rush Yds Avg LG TD Rec Avg TD
2009 7 56 257 4.6 25 1 21 7.7 1
He was not having a stellar season up until his concussion. He shouldn't be taking the majority of the rushes. I don't care how much of a man crush you have on the guy. He's not 100%! That being said we are basically in the playoffs. Would you rather take a chance on a Westbrook or McCoy/Weaver combo. I'd much rather have Westbrook as the #3 option and maybe even taking 4th receiver position from time to time at this current moment.
Maybe he has a huge game next week, who the farg knows! He has been slow, timid and non productive all year when McCoy and Weaver have gotten it done reasonably well when given the opportunity. I'd rather bet on McCoy and Weaver, who may not be as good as a healthy Westbrook. A banged up Westbrook is not even a shell of a healthy Westbrook from years past.

This, and it was farging cold with the wind. I thought the 1st quarter was the longest quarter ever, but the 3rd took the cake
Pretty sure Westbrook had a run or two there towards the end of the game that was geared more towards running the clock out than anything. Which would bring is YPC down.
Never mind the fact that he was pretty much getting back in the flow of things. He did not look timid to me at all yesterday.
he didnt look timid at all but even if he did you could understand it
he did look very ordinary tho...zero explosiveness...however if he does nothing else the rest of the year except pick up blitzes and be a dependable pass catcher out of the backfield he will be a plus
but the best thing about having him this year is that you dont care if he gets hurt because the team doesnt need him anymore...its a nice relief with him being a bonus rather than a necessity
Westbrook is going to make a big and possibly game-changing play for the Eagles in the playoffs. He may only make one, but Westbrook is clutch and he will come through.
i thought westbrook had a couple of nice runs where he showed some speed and others where he looked a little slow. but really, who wouldn't look a bit out of sync after missing 5 or 6 straight games? he was neither a major contributor or liability yesterday.
so you agree with my best friend that he will make the game changing play in the playoffs that will catapult the eagles to the promise land?

Exactly. I'm cool with Weaver and Shady being the main contributors. Anything Westbrook adds is a plus, and he's able to step in fresh and get open or bust off a few nice runs because he will be fresh.

cole is a harmless idiot and also i think a lot of his stuff is either tongue in cheek or stuff he doesnt even believe is true...if im wrong about that then hes really something special
where as reese actually believes and thinks the stuff he says is intelligent and/or correct
reese is a far (like by a millions times) less annoying version of munson
cole is on a different plane than those two cranial lumps
like the lil guy said tho they are all 100% necessary evils that should never leave our happy abode as they provide an invalusble service
i get the feeling cole really believes what he says. the thing is he has difficulty forming those thoughts into a sentence, let alone a coherent sentence. so the result is like what you saw above, a sort of 12 year old-ish inane rambling about westbrook being clutch.
