ive never seen the simpsons but from what i hear and read it hasnt been that good much less the best of anything since the 90's
again never seen futurama or buffy....but both got across the board critical acclaim
never heard of veronica mars so i cant speak on that
family guy is retarded. its funny at times but the writing is terrible and its basically a 22 minute long gag. no story, no interesting characters, just jokes. some hit, some miss. its like an snl skit.
the simpsons has been funny in 10 years.
also the sopranos at 2 is a joke.

i dont know if i can even bring myself to see it....its like the black version of leaving las vegas....so painful to watch...altho it does have an uplifting ending at least
except it looks while real where llv was a phony, forced charade for nick cage to prance around act depressed.

yeah its not for everyone...its kind of limited in its appeal in that its a throwback to a specific kind of movie that was made in the 70's...atmospheric gritty urban conspiracy type thrillers and dramas...like the conversation or all the presidents men...those are some of my favorite movies ever...
i also love movies where ny is a character not a location...there isnt a better place to film a picture than on the streets of that city
Posting your individual top ten list is as retarded as posting on this thread. That said.

Perhaps you should wait until the last two months of the tenth year of this decade, then.
when would that be
The last two months of the tenth year of a decade doesn't exist. That would be the last two months of the first year of a new decade, because a decade is 10 years not 11.
that barely makes sense but i think its right.
year 1 = 2000
year 2 = 2001
year 3 = 2002
year 4 = 2003
year 5 = 2004
year 6 = 2005
year 7 = 2006
year 8 = 2007
year 9 = 2008
year 10 = 2009
november and december 2009 = last two months of the 10th year of the aughts
year 1 = 2001

2000 was the last year of the 90's. 2001 was the first year of the new millenium. 2001-2010 are the aughts

hold on....a century always uses the 01-00 range since there was no year 0 (so the 21st century started in 2001), but a decade always uses the 0-9 range...
So the year 1 has no decade? Or is it in the last decade of BC?
year 1 was in the 0s decade or whatever they called it (0001-0009)
I totally confused myself there for no good reason.

I really really really hate that I had to bold Kayne
i'm happy to see MGMT and LCD Soundsystem so high on that list
I'm kind of shocked that bands like Bright Eyes and Death Cab made the list, but Brand New's The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me did not...especially since that CD prompted a few press outlets to dub them "Americas version of Radiohead"...Which I don't really get, I think they're closer to Morrissey/The Smiths than Radiohead.

Again, Bad Religion was great when they were new. In the 90s. Its not like their sound changed drastically in the 00s and they were suddenly a top of the world punk rock band.

First she wanted me to cut her while we were shagging, but I told her that was a little too kinky for me. Then when we were at a bar she comes out of the bathroom dripping blood from a pretty nice cut on her arm. Apparently I should not have talked to a girl I'd known for over a decade. A few days later I broke up with her via text message

never saw Bug, but i did date a cutter. Got her to break up with her long time boyfriend, then found out she was a cutter when i got a phonecall at 2am and her crying. Hit and quit
They're great fargs, but not worth the headache. This chick was the head cheerleader at my college, and a complete whacko in the bed

Again, Bad Religion was great when they were new. In the 90s. Its not like their sound changed drastically in the 00s and they were suddenly a top of the world punk rock band.
they were new in the 80's.. and they have definitely changed their sound pretty drastically even from album to album. even their worst cd is light years better then some of that electronica bullshtein they pass off as music on that list. they expanded to a 6 person band in the 00's and have done some of their best sounding albums "new maps of hell" which was their last cd and "process of belief". in contrast their worst cd's released were probably the ones in the late 90's. and they still are basically a top of the world punk rock band.. because their still actually punk rock. some of this horrible pop punk.. "hi, i wear eye line and grab your ass in the touchy pit" isn't real punk.
CSN's top 5 Philly teams of the decade:
1 = 2008 Phillies
2 = 2004 Eagles
3 = 2000-01 Sixers
4 = 2009 Phillies
5 = 2003-04 St. Joe's
Not really much argument there unless you want to replace St. Joe's with last year's Villanova team...
Obviously that list was compiled before a few days ago.

lol the undefeated season of two losses. they had 1 impressive win that year in the sweet sixteen. give me a break.
I liked the 01 Sixers better than the 04 Eagles. That Sixers season was so much fun and they were the only team to beat the Lakers in the entire playoffs that year even though they lost 4 straight. That Raptors series was epic. It had everything. Three different 50 point performances being one of them(2 Iverson, 1 Carter). But I agree with 08 Phils being #1. Has to breaking the drought.
I actually agree with IGY, I loved Michael Clayton. Hated it the first time I saw it, but watched it again when bored and started to love it. The first time I saw it, I watched a pirated version on a 15 inch computer monitor and just didn't pay full attention. The movie doesn't point things out for you, so you need to pay attention. I think it is Clooney's best performance of his career and his best movie. I wouldn't put it #1 of the decade though.
Top movies of decade in no order:
Lost in Translation
Oldboy
No Country
Bad Santa
The Wrestler
The Departed - don't care it has a ton of hype, I loved it
The Lives of Others - German film I loved
Michael Clayton
Let the Right One In
Bunch of others I really enjoyed like Children of Men, Memento, The Prestige, Gladiator, The Bourne Triology, In Bruges.
Most overrated movie of the decade? Crash.
