Will McNabb return? If so, will he be effective?
Will Westbrook return? If so, will he be effective?
How many snaps will Trotter play? If so, will he be effective?
I'm going to miss watching my first Eagles game in probably 10 years. I think the last time I did not see one on TV was 1999.
I have to fly to Buffalo on Saturday. My company's main offices are there and I will be there Sat-Tues. Why won't I be watching? Because on Sunday I will be in Ralph Wilson Stadium with the big wigs.
I'd rather watch the Eagles.
at least you get to see to
Lol buffalo. What a shteinhole
Yes. Yes.
Yes. Yes. The Bucs blow hard right now.
Less than ten. I'll point and laugh at each one.
Wow what are the odds that the one game you miss would be Trotter's comeback game? You're like the one fan who actually cares about that. Bad break.

Yeah, no shtein.
But doesn't NFL.com show the games at midnight or something like that?
irony is hilarious.
Trotter, disheartened that no one in the stands is wearing a 54 jersey, will retire again at halftime.
Josh Johnson looked like how I'd imagine DeSean Jackson looking like if he were to play QB on this team. In otherwords, a horribly inaccurate passer who is always looking to take off and run first, and who has zero pocket presence.
I know the any given sunday cliche, but there is absolutely no excuse whatsoever to lose to this terrible, and I mean terrible team.
This game shouldn't even be up for discussion. Bye week, Tampa Bay sucks massive shtein, return of Wood Chopper (yes I have his jersey and the mother farger's coming out, well unless my Vick jersey arrives before Sunday) birds couldn't even try to lose this one.
Phreak, will you at least get to see the bums on Saturday night? I'll need someone to bitch with.
Bucs - 13
Eagles - 34
Kolb continues to look good on crap defenses. Throws for another 300 plus 2 tds to Pimp and Celek. McCoy goes for over 100 this game an 1 TD. The defense brings it all day and produces 3 turnovers. One a pick for 6.
let westbrook and mcnabb sit this one out IMO.
LOL, Muss..they're not sitting McNabb.
correct. if they are healthy you play
you can say sit them against OAK and WAS too because they suck just as bad but you dont
Man I wanted the Bucs to pull a win out against the taterskins so bad. If the hadn't missed two field goals they might have done it too.
I didn't know he was going to play.

QuoteMcNabb and Westbrook practice; Trotter with first team
Donovan McNabb and Brian Westbrook returned to practice today, according to several of their Eagles teammates. The quarterback and running back had been out with injuries. The Eagles returned to practice today after the bye week off.
McNabb sat out the last two games with a fractured rib. He suffered the injury in the opener against the Panthers. It's fairly safe to say that his practicing today means he will be able to start Sunday's game against Tampa Bay. Backup Kevin Kolb performed admirably in McNabb's absence, losing to the Saints but coming back to beat Kansas City.
McNabb declined to comment. He is scheduled to meet with the media on Wednesday, as is coach Andy Reid.
Westbrook missed last week's game against the Chiefs because of an ankle sprain. He didn't practice the week leading up to the game and was listed as doubtful. LeSean McCoy filled in for Westbrook and ran for 85 yards and a TD. Even before the injury, Westbrook had gotten off to a slow start in the first two games.
He was unavailable for comment.
Kevin Curtis said he practiced today. The wide receiver didn't play against the Chiefs because of a knee sprain.
Todd Herremans was able to walk around today without the assistance of a scooter. The guard, who has been out all season with a stress facture in his foot, is scheduled to meet with doctors today. He said the doctor could give the OK to lose the boot that has been protecting his left foot. Herremans said that a return by the Washington game on Oct. 26 is still very much in the cards. He hopes to be back by the Oakland game the week prior.
Quintin Demps (hamstring) said that he's back practicing, too. The backup safety has been out since the opener.
Jeremiah Trotter, meanwhile, had his first practice with the team since returning to the Eagles last week. The linebacker said that he was splitting first team reps with Omar Gaither on run downs. Gaither was unavailable for comment.
Trotter has his old locker stall and his old number back. He got the No. 54 from Tracy White (who now wears No. 52) and the stall from J. Leman, a practice squad linebacker.
The players have off tomorrow and will resume preparations for the Bucs on Wednesday
bowen said earlier today in his blog that trotter got his 54 from tracey white by cutting some sort of car wash deal with him

am i the only person that is tired of these garbage teams and this schedule...until they prove they can at least play with a good team none of this means anything and that doesnt happen until friggin november...also how is there no division games till almost halloween
2009 schedule gets the big gas face
Assuming they are able to take care of business the next 3 weeks and go into the Giants game 5-1 (and not have one of their traditional letdown games where they end up tying the Raiders or something like that), I think that really helps out their confidence. I much rather have a soft schedule at the beginning of the year to build off of than have a tougher schedule early on and play catch-up the rest of the year.
Although a more balanced schedule would be nice too, because the first four weeks of November looks brutal.
yeah, you play the schedule that you're dealt. when it got released, i didn't care for it. early bye week, soft start, blah blah blah. but given everything that's happened so far this year with injuries, the eagles ended up catching a break. no way do the eagles go 1-1 if kolb starts against 2 quality teams. no way do the eagles blow out the nearly any other team in week 1 because most qb's around the league don't gift wrap the ball like delhomme does.
so hopefully, by the time the schedule really starts getting tough, the eagles will be healthy and clicking. maybe vick will be in better game shape and have a bunch of the rust knocked off. it's kind of like the eagles get an extra month of pre-season games.
not to mention that the 49ers of the 80's and 90's played in the weakest division in football and had 8 soft games a year and they still dominated outside of their division and won a shtein ton of superbowls.
the one thing i would like to see changed with the schedule though, is that week 1 should be a "division week" and have every team face off against a division rival. would be awesome to watch the eagles open every season against another nfc east team.
if the eagles are halfway decent they already have 7 wins.
which means they need to go 3-5 in the other 8 games to clinch a playoff spot.
challenging.
But will they be good enough to lose in the NFCCG this year? I just don't see that happening.
I was going to say Dawkins won't be there to watch WR's run by him so I like their chances, but then I remembered Trotter is back.

It does suck but like Sarge said you can only play the games on your schedule. No one knew Carolina would be as bad as they are right now.

the Eagles open as 2 TD favorites (second-highest only to the Giants giving 17 to the Raiders)
Eagles 13
Bucs 38
Reid is fired afterward, McNabb dies on the field, and IGY finds someone to sell his season tickets to (Munson).
I'd have to sell me and my neighbors trailer to afford those.
Yea the resell value of mobile homes has hit rock bottom lately.
wow, the line jumped from 13 to 15 in a span of 2 hours
bucs have no defense and no offense. Eagles are coming off a bye week. should be a blowout.
But they still have McNabb's favorite WR; Ronde Barber.
Ronde 6 - Eagles 30 ?
Sounds about right...ya just know he's gonna get McNabb once.

because curtis is hurt or because maclin is out performing him in practice?
Curtis is still hurt, but he said Maclin will start ahead of him even if he's healthy...
Good thing we still have Greg Lewis Hank Baskett Jason Avant Reggie Brown to be the third receiver when Curtis is hurt and eventually gone.
They also signed Trotter so they could get TBs playbook, to try and get a winning edge.

Welcome to the NFL, Mr. Maclin!
holy shtein, Maclin. Great catch and throw. Maclin scared me coming down with that one, but hell of a throw by mcnabb. I love it when 5 starts a game by running for a 1st down, he just seems to open the offense at that point.
I gotta say he hasn't looked overly impressive in his first few games, but I may be spoiled by pimps start last year. But he had at least 3 steps on whoever was covering him on that.
McNabb's first two plays back-13 yard scramble, 51 yard TD pass. farg Kevin Kolb.
And they give the Bucs the ball at the 35 after a penalty. Nice.
Gocong with the sack.
3rd and 25 for Tampa... Killa ends up with a sack only to find Macho get a personal foul in the secondary. Idiots.
Dam...it's called playing down to your competition...six penalties :boom
35 yards of penalties on this drive.
awesome penalties. dicks.
Let's hope they keep going for it on 4th down.
This drive began with 2:03 left in the first quarter. TB spent all that time giving the Eagles 7 points! :-D
Ah shtein, he was down. Oh well, time for the offense to put up some points on this shtein team.
i'm still not sure about that review. Tough call, but thanks for not kicking jackass
You gotta love Brent Celek!

i don't even think that's a special teams thing. epsecially when it's a starting o-lineman getting the penalty. i blame the st coach when they can't cover or return kicks/punts.
this team is just penalty stupid. even moreso than normal.
This defense is really looking bad. I hope the Saints game wasn't an indication of what they will look like against teams with actual offenses.
1. Raheem morris looks like my old neighbor who sold heroin to my college roomates.
2. The field is in worse shape than sarge's liver.
3. Stop running these pointless vick plays you fat absentee father.
10 passes, 4 rushes so far for the offense...not counting the McNabb scramble or the stupid Jackson reverse.
Eskin reporting that McNabb, Trotter, and Reid are joking around and having a good time on the sideline. Yeah, it's a big party, an 0-4 shtein team keeps marching down the field at will against you.
TD Maclin!!!!!!!!!
beautiful throw and catch!
Holy shtein you can go deep all day against these guys! :o
Any points TB scores here are courtesy of Juqua Parker's tackling skills.
Another stupid penalty on 3rd and long. :boom
8 penalties for 75 yards
farg that, Asante just stood there when Parker wasnt tackling and realized he needed to make one. Soft tackling.

Dumb wild cat play - dumb...
What is the point of Vick if he's only going to hand the ball off? He does nothing in the wildcat except give the ball to Westbrook/McCoy. Why sign him if that's his use?
because he sucks at passing?
so, how ridiculous is Samuel, 25int's since 2005
Running those plays only takes away from the base offense.
They don't need gimmicks
Perfect example = the last drive = TD.
No wild cat just strait up smash mouth NFC East football.
Its not a gimmick,m its a formation.
But it aint workin now
It just seem to throw the offense off rhythm ....IMO
These penalties are getting farging ridiculous!
10 penalties for over 100 yards... :boom
shady looking good on those last 2 plays.

is it just me or even though mcnabb has been excellent today, the offense just looks a little stag? this is like the most boring 31 points i've ever seen. the penalties have something to do with it, i'm sure.

It's because they've been quick scores, and there are a number of quick three and outs in there too. That was the first thing really resembling a drive we've seen from the offense the whole game.
shtein... Asante's hurt.
I think it's the most frustrating blow out I've seen. I'm not complaining, but it seems especially against the blitz, the bucs move the ball at will until they turn it over.
OK... somebody needs to cover Kellen Winslow.
Nice pass Vick...booo

what is the deal with Asante and Weaver?
Both got hurt there...
Pretty sure Weaver was back in after his injury. About ten seconds after limping out of a play he indicated that he was okay.
Asante had a calf strain and is going to have a MRI.
Hobbs sprained his wrist and D. Patterson was hurt too...
Maclin looked like the real deal today; nothing follows.
I followed the game on my phone and with the stadium updates.

Who was SOULJA working over? He had a solid day against the Birds
Why so many penalties?

How did the OL play?
QuoteWhat was the deal with not running it?
You already know the answer to that, and his name is Andy Reid.

Pretty much everyone, they showed a stat during the game though about how he didn't catch a ball when Gocong was on him.

No idea but they made some dumbass plays.
QuoteHow did Trotter play?
Meh, I don't remember him sticking out in my mind at all or hearing his name called....but I guess that can be considered a good thing.
QuoteHow did the OL play?
Very well, they let McNabb get hit 4 or 5 times but overall probably their best performance so far this year.
Thanks...was Trot introduced to the crowd?
QuoteWhat was the deal with not running it?
The Eagles didn't really have all that many plays overall, especially in the first half. They scored quickly four times and didn't have much of a sustained drive until the fourth quarter. They also did poorly on first downs whether they were running or passing, so they ended up with more long yardage situations than usual.

Honestly Josh Johnson and him played out of their minds. They had huge blitzes on them all day and he would throw passes that were pretty accurate with all the pressure. Soulja boy was open on about half of his catches the other half they actually had half decent coverage.
