First glorified scrimmage of the season. My testiculars are engorged.

6ABC here
CBS4 in Boston
Replays = Thursday 11PM and Friday 9AM (NFL Network); Sunday 7PM (CSN Philly)
on what planet is it useful to mention that the game will be on cbs4 in boston. the only person this applies to is that new england yuppie rusty and he knows that. easy.
game go.
i came into this to put out the easy bat signal to find out when the nfl network replays were...and BOOM!...easy mother farging e comes thru with the quickness
btw do i get nfl network if i have just regular digital cable?
no.
anyone else going?
are you sure....i know at one time they took it away and put it on some special sports package but i thought i had read or someone told me lately that its on regular digital comcast cable now
i have comcast, and i had to buy the sports tier - its like 3.95 and i get the nfl, nhl, and nba networks along w espnu, classic, college sports, etc...
who's your provider?
its comcast and i can check tonight...but i dont watch the the nfl network so i dont know if i get it without specifically looking
i do get the nhl and nba networks but i always thought that was because i get the league packages....maybe i have the sports tier and dont even know it
you get those networks along w the package..
Along with Manneans out:
QuoteStacy Andrews will also be held out of the game for caution's sake, although he is improving. The other players who will not play Thursday night are Trevor Laws, Victor Abiamiri, Shawn Andrews, Brian Westbrook, Stewart Bradley, Cornelius Ingram, Kevin Kolb, Trent Cole, and Matt Schobel.
All before the first...preseason... game... of... the... year.

meh...just in case he didn't. not that he'll watch more than half the first quarter anyway...
IGY we just started getting the NFL network and didn't sign up for it, that being said we do have one of the sports packages.
yeah i think its free again

they changed that, that was the huge fight comcast and nfl network had. nfl got their way and it's now on the regular digital tier. cancel your sports tier and it will still be there.
Bright House still doesn't carry NFL Network.
Awesome.
$150/month for cable and I can't get the one channel I want.
If you only want one channel maybe you shouldn't bother with cable. Just sayin'.
I get internet access with it, so if I didn't have cable you would never see me again.
And?
Pretty sure NFLN is on the Digital Classic tier now. If you get stuff like National Geographic Channel and ESPN Classic you probably get NFLN.
It is, Comcast and the NFL finally figured it out

Comcast put it into their Digital Classic tier, not their lower level Digital Starter tier. If you only have Digital Starter, you will not get the NFLN.
how do i know which one i have

So you've been talking about this for two days and never thought to turn on your tv to see if the NFLN was there? Well done.
since yesterday afternoon actually...and i totally forget to check last night
Do you forgot to conjugate your verbs, too?

OMG Secret news about IGY...
game is on at 11pm on nfln
great first quarter huh
vick to the birds per mort
anyone else see that
So, uh McCoy looks legit. Maclin dropped a punt. McNabb looks like McNabb, sometimes good sometimes hide under the covers awful. The O-line looks lost and now they have Vick on the team. Weird night.
And Hugh Douglas sounds more like Shannon Sharpe every time he opens his mouth.
so is it ok now to worry about the tight end position with Celek getting hurt tonight?
shtein...they need to get a vet in here real quick--if not to catch but to at least to better the blocking
Maclin has looked much better in the 2nd half, and Ricky Williams...oops...Buckley scored a TD to make the game close again. Ikegwuonu is out there now...
what happened to Celek? He hurt bad?

I am also curious about the answer to this question.
Shoulder sprain, I think they said.
You're watching this exhibition though, right? What did it look like? Did it look bad, or like nothing at all and he just didn't come back in...
I was too busy responding to the pile of texts and calls I got after the Vick announcement and didn't see it.[/shame]
They just said shoulder inury my guess wi9th all of my exerpiernce would be he fell, and pressed in his bad shoulder, pushed into the socket. usually you can recovery from that quicly, but its all about severity.
k, thanks.
It's pathetic, but the Eagles need that guy healthy.
Truth.
thank god. he should be able to avoid those hits to that shoulder again because hes so elusive.
judging by the stat line, Akers is in good form
Good to see Akers sucking ass sweat again.

check the stat line again
Akers blamed Jesus for that missed kick. Jesus must not be rooting for the Eagles now that they signed Vick.
Maybe he'll cry tonight.
Jason Peters is tough
Whoops... I checked in while watching the replay, so I guess Akers choked?
What I have noticed so far:
1. Injuries
2. Sloppy play (tons of penalties)
3. Sean Jones' terrible play on punt coverage
4. LeSean McCoy is a goddamn pimp
5. Leonard Weaver too
6. No pass rush
7. Bunkley and Patterson are a helluva tandem; love those two in the middle
8. Hate the Vick signing
Oh, and someone shut Hugh DOuglas' mic off. Dude doesn't shut up
I'm putting the over/under on Weaver's snaps per game at 10 during the regular season.
Under.
When Andy has a good thing he doesn't use it; especially in the run game
The announcing crew got on Peters tonight. I watched the first 2 quarters over again and he played very well other than that one play where he got beat. Mays was excellent also.
McCoy was obviously really good and I thought Maclin showed good YAC ability.
Jack Ikegwuonu was terrible. Worst player on the field tonight.
I must have gotten caught up in the announcers hype because it looked to me like Peters got beat repeatedly before he got hurt.
What I gathered from the game:
1) Start Vick; McNabb blows
B) McCoy is a better halfback than Westbrook could ever dream of being
I thought so too originally but he was pretty damn good. Held up on blocks well and is swift afoot.
The announcing team actually got on a couple players who didn't do anything wrong tonight. That one play with Macho Harris, he wasn't even close to being the player who messed up. I forget who it was.
Sean Jones made some bad plays tonight.

there was an excellent block toward the end of the game, on the Feeley dump off up the middle to Buckley, who took it like twenty yards to the left sideline..someone, a WR I suppsoe, rockets in and blows up a Patriot...but the NFL.com video is not good and I couldn't see the number...who threw that block?

I think it was Gibson, if I remember correctly. The number was either 19 or 18. Or possibly some other number. Whatever. What do you want from me? farg you. I thought it was Gibson.
Yes, it was Gibson.
Gibson has had a very good camp. They are going to have to create an injury to hide him on IR or else lose him, because someone will grab him from the PS.
Unless they trade a guy (Baskett or Brown).
Curtis
Pimp
Avant
Baskett
Maclin
Brown
Gibson
There is no reason that Avant, Baskett, and Brown should all make the final roster.

Avant has to and will. He's got a role on this team and he plays it very well. He's a lock to make the team.
Brown and Baskett are the ones who need to be worried if Gibson keeps coming along during the preseason.
Here's the current depth chart...
I think Brown is ahead of Avant only because they're trying to entice some sort of effort out of him during the preseason. I don't see any conceivable way he stays on the roster come opening day, especially considering the money he's scheduled to make.
PS: Look at where Vick is... lol...

It'd be less funny if it wasn't because Vick is still suspended.
How long have Doug Pederast and Zordich been coaches?
Since they played?
Reggie Brown is still on the team?
i named one of my fishes zordich
Game highlights here. (http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/09000d5d811e0520/Patriots-27-Eagles-25) Dj's run is at 1:04 in.
I watched the first quarter again today before heading out to do some yard work. McNabb had some of the ugliest throwing motions I've ever seen. He looked like he was trying to push the ball instead of throw it.
Greg Lloyd is coaching and he looks like he can still play. He's got the angry look on his face all the time too. Maybe he can help toughen up the LBs
Just finished watching this game and I don't really have too much new to add:
Weaver and Shady looked excellent
O-line was terrible in pass protection, but must have been at least decent at the run since Eagles ran the ball well
Maclin, Gibson, and Buckley looked promising.
Lorenzo Booker is a waste of air.
If this team only keeps 3 QB's, I am much more comfortable with Feeley then with Kolb, but I don't think there is anyway they would admit their mistake this early.
finally watched the game last night and the thing that stood out most to me was how unbelievably bad reilly hugh and herm were
oh yeah, they're awful
i couldnt even concentrate on the game the announcers were dropping so many gems
at one point when the pats were inside the eagles five hugh says "you dont wanna let them score down here"
btw week 1 announcers for the game at charlotte are same rosen and tim ryan
i remember at one point that Herm said something retarded and I just laughed out loud and told the tv to shut the farg up
The local guys doing the broadcast up here couldn't stop lubing their iceholes up over Brady. After he threw the interception they actually said, "This is just practice for him. He knows that interception doesn't really matter. He's having a nearly perfect game."
Dead.

Sam Rosen and Tim Ryan are horrible.
And Hugh was talking so damn much, babbling really, that the PBP guy couldn't even describe what was goin on. Although that may have been a good thing.
Herm had his pimp pose going on during the booth shots and it looked like the producers told him to stand up straight at one point
ha...yeah hugh was talking over everyone...he would go on some non sensical diatribe and finish it up by saying "coach"?
like he was talking to herm the whole time or wanted his opinion on what he just said AFTER he had just talked over him to begin with
i like sam rosen a lot...but im not sure who tim ryan is except that isnt he one of that group of ex lineman who all sound exactly alike and you cant tell apart
is he maybe the novelist guy?
Tim Ryan is actually two different dudes
the other tim ryan is a pbp guy tho
They are from the Tim&Ryan show
I wanna know what happened to Brain Baldinger
He isn't on FOX's coverage any more and not on NFL Network either
john lynch replaced him on fox...had he gone to nfl network after that??
He isn't doing color anywhere. He's on NFL Network's Playbook show last I saw.
Tim Ryan sucks as a PBP or color announcer whatever he is, but his show with Pat Kirwan on NFL Radio is great.
Pat Kirwan is god
Sports announcers are collectively the least intelligent and most intolerable people on television. Which is remarkable since they are frequently retired athletes who were considered to be among the 'smartest' or 'most thoughtful' in their circle of professional athletes. Pathetic.
