everyones new favorite pastime is to bash espn for a lot of the programming and editorial choices they make....so its only fair to applaud them for this....sure theres a lot that could go wrong but in general its an awesome idea

good idea but the self promotion thing is irritating. cant they just do 30 films in general? do they have to be in the espn era? its like saying sports didnt exist before espn.
its for their 30th anniversary
and id rather see some films on newer topics that havent been done before
you think anyone really wants to see a another film on babe ruth or muhammed ali...or i got a good one...lets do something with the munich olympics
Them going out of business would be celebration enough for me. ESPN is the worst.
they have some terrible stuff...that new show sportsnation could be the most terrible thing ive ever seen....but overall they do an excellent job...they are 1 trillion times better than fox or anyone else that has tried to emulate them...yes its the cool thing to do to hate on them but they do way more good than bad
and anyway its not even about them as a whole...this series looks amazing
How the hell could anyone hate on espn?
Every station has corny-ass sideshows that appeal to a select few...but aside from that my ass gets cranky as hell if I miss even 2 days of highlights..and there is no better channel on tv to watch them than sportscenter...still.
For the same reason we can mock & ridicule douchebags who use phrases like "hate on".
I had to delete what I wrote because your response is laughable and not worth the ridicule
Why you gotta hate on me, reesizzle?

possible. but this tying in with more of espns self promotion makes me less inclined to watch. oh goodie espn is 30 hooray you guys rule, now lets watch your shows and give you more money.
ill prob. check out some of the docs simply on the basis that they look interesting. but id like it much better if espn just stuck to showing highlights and games and left the self congratulations for press releases and award shows.
they already did a massive sportscentury thing that produced tons of pre espn era stuff....you wanna see all that again?
youre just hating to hate

this. i don't watch espn very much anymore but they are still the best out there. i just choose not to watch any of it because i don't want to have to sit through the garbage and fluff they put out there in order to get the nitty gritty. i still go to espn.com all the time because i get everything i need and can pick and choose what i read/watch. they put the highlights from every completed game with the recap so i don't miss any highlights.
and yes, that series does look like it could be awesome. hopefully they don't dork it up.

you're not missing much imo. just another skinny blond with no ass. but if you must see, go to the mets thread. it's in there somewhere.
the links i posted arent up anymore and as i said any links that are around now could very well have a virus....i think one of my boys downloaded the videos and put them in a safe file to download...ill see if i cant get it from him
oh and her ass is absolutely delicious and so is her cooter and her fake boobies...shes pretty much perfect
how about a 30 for 30 doc on erin's peephole video. now that i would watch.
ESPN has had a lot of terrible programming.
But the shtein they did a few years ago, the "Who's Now" crap was painful.
Almost as painful as Steve Phillips' fake press conferences complete with actors/ESPN stooges as the reporters.
this fan feast thing is awful too.
if you want to run down a list of "musts" for any fan, that's one thing. but the shtein with the diner and the awful dialog makes it terrible.
john anderson is easily the worst thing ever having to do with espn
skip bayless and the entire espn "first take" show says hello.
i actually like skip bayless and i wouldnt go out of my to watch first take but its a solid offering
john anderson is a douchebag of epic porportions it goes way above and beyond espn and is on a one of the worst people in the history of people level
i think he's dreamy and want to birth a half dozen john anderson jrs.
ps. bayless sucks. he is to sports talk what theisman was to commentating.

You've reached a new low, congrats.
and the igy instigation train pulls into the station...
No way he's being truthful. Bayless is on the same level of icehole as Jose Reyes & George Bush.
bayless sits on that show and makes sports arguments the same way we all sit at a bar and shoot the shtein over sports...that doesnt bother me...im not saying i love the guy or agree with him just that he makes for some interesting debates

why cause i dont go on message boards and follow everything all the sheep say...everyone hates skip bayless so that means i must too?.....get the farg outta here with that shtein
because its manufactured, idiotic nonsense. its moron sports writers yelling at each other, taking ridiculous sides in inane arguments simply for the sake of "entertainment." its not real, like at a bar, its forced. and mindless drivel.

just because its sportwriters doing it on tv doesnt automatically make it any different than us doing it at a tailgate or on this board
around the horn is classic
Thanks to ESPN for bringing us Sunday Night Football, the biggest long-running abortion of an NFL broadcast in TV history. And that includes Bryant Gumbel's PBP at the NFL Network.

pti is great. they dont take sides in arguments for the sake of it, they say what they think and have unreal chemistry doing so. around the horn is unwatchable. woody paige and jay mariotti are worse human beings than jose reyes. they admittedly force these arguments to create a tv show. its a disgrace to sports writing and to any kind of debate on television.
they do nothing that bayless doesnt do....you just dont like skippy....lets leave it at that
while the around the horn crew does force arguments in order to be "entertaining" just like bayless does, i do find most of those guys to be much more entertaining than skippy. the guy's unwatchable.
but yes, pti is a good show. kornheiser and wilbon are a good team.
