OK. I am an old head. I like the old music. So you young douches, put up your best music from the last twenty years and I will match you band for band from the 60's and 70's. Ha ha.

i love music. damn near all of it. classic rock, hair bands, old school rap, r&b, southern rock, jazz, blues, etc, etc. can't say that any era of music is better than another because each one is unique in it's own way. although the older i get, the more and more i hate "modern music"...with a few exceptions of course. mostly because i don't think i know what today's generation of musicians really stand for. like or hate music from the 60's, 70's or 80's, there wasn't much doubt what their music was about. somewhere in the 90's though music started losing its identity in favor of the manufactured crap. farg disney.
but it's pretty damn hard to out rock skynyrd, queen or ac/dc

I know your 60s and 70s guitarists can't quite do this.
Ahahahahah dragonforce. They were figured out as "Fake" I beleive, as in their absolutely sick guitar solos were computer produced.
And if you're an old head, I'm a young bull.
Anyway.

One of the simplest songs I've ever heard music wise, but the religious questioning lyrics and the overall "chill" value of the song make me love it.
I'm guessing that this is IGY's favorite song.

Considering the title and the author of this thread, I can't believe any of us opened it.
I have to admit, when I saw the title of the thread and who started it I was thinking of something else.

Since I obviously won the music challenge, I will go the next step. I claim the 70's were the pinnacle of modern society. So my next challenge is cars. Any of you whiny bastiches want to throw some autos out there to match the 70's machines? Or are you going to go buy a smart car and let this old head laugh and laugh at your young punk asses.
cars today are better than cars in the 70's. game over

No.
its over. yeah they might of been cooler and some even made better, but in general cars are safer, more efficient, faster, handle better, the list goes on than ever before. don't try to argue that.
In other words cars are now made for softbatch americans that can't handle the awesome.
Look, I own a Prius so I'm totally calling myself out as well but don't act like anyone with a penis would rather own a 'safe/efficient' car from today than an 'unsafe/inefficient' car from the 70s.
Not quite 1970s, but my dream car:

this topic isn't even debatable. modern cars have modern technology on their side, which does allow for better performance and fuel efficiency. so they've got that going for them. but that's the only advantage they have.
cars from the 70's were built to be durable, which is why you still see so many on the road over 30 years later. cars today aren't built to last that long. name a newer model car that's in production right now that people will still be driving 30 years from now? who thinks that in the year 2035 there's going to be people walking around saying "man, i wish i could get my hands on an old ford focus."
not to mention that since so many modern cars have so much technology built into them, a few years from now that technology will be obsolete and you'll either be forced to pay out the ass to upgrade or will have to trade in on something new. on board gps, mp3, ipod docks, etc, etc. those will all be obsolete technologies sooner rather than later. in a few years, driving around with those things in your ride will be like having a car in the late 90's/early 00's that still had a tape deck in it.
also, because of all the computer technology being put in cars today, the do-it-yourself guy can't do anything to his ride except changing the plugs, oil and belts. this also leads to higher repair costs because mechanics need to pay for the equipment to hook into the vehicle's computer system. not to mention that they are free to raise their rates because they know that you don't have the ability to do it yourself either.
so while today's cars may have the edge in efficiency, i don't think they are any cheaper to own and they definitely don't last as long.....which i guess is fine because it's not like anything the car companies are coming out with today has any long term appeal to it anyway.

massive. wood.
i'd love to grab an old 60something stang to park next to my 05. as much as i love mine, even it doesn't compare to the older models.
i was so close to getting a 66 mustang, but it had rust and went with a wrangler instead. Tough choice for a 16 yo.
mustang or wrangler. steve mcqueen or daisy duke. you were obviously a confused teenager but i think we know what side of the fence you chose to stand on.
good choice, buttercup.
Still bothers me everytime i drive past one. She was a cherry red coupe, beautful, and white seats, refurbished. The main issue was the frame had rust, and my dad wasnt a fan of rust to a frame. So pops ended up finding a good deal on a 94wrangler, and the days of acting like i was in zoolander arrived

We're very close. I've always been partial to the 67...
The Mustang was my ace in the hole for anything anybody could throw out there. But I see I am not the only one to realize quality when they see it........my first and favorite car, 1970 Mustang Fastback w/ Boss 302.

Crazy talk.
its funny how this has turned into a american muscle car love fest. yeah they have a special part in my heart too, but modern cars are so much better don't even go there. let me get specific, modern foreign cars that is.
that 70 fastback is badass yeti
I sold it for two grand to buy a 79 Pontiac Gran Prix LE. God damn red head disco bitch chick I was going out with wanted something more classy.
Speaking of which......................
Here is something you younger guys might have me on. Chicks.
Pit the best against the 70's best. You have the advantage because I can't see your chicks old yet. But since I won the first two rounds.......I'm feeling generous.
Lest anyone forget, Yeti is gay.
