Another pick I love, if he is healthy he provides them with a nice redzone threat.  Now I would like to see them grab a LB or perhaps Duke Robinson.

Matt Mosely on Ingram:

QuoteFile it away

I'll give you a couple to file away. I think the Eagles got tremendous value with Florida tight end Cornelius Ingram. Yes, I know he missed the entire 2008 season, but he's the type of threat that gives Donovan McNabb another option in the red zone. Ingram was No. 59 on draft guru Rick "Goose" Gosselin's top 100, which is passed around in personnel offices across the league.

He played basketball at Florida and we've seen some former ballers turn into pretty solid tight ends. Antonio Gates and Tony Gonzalez come to mind. I'm not saying this guy is going to the Pro Bowl in his first season. But in the fifth round, I think the Eagles did really well with Ingram.

That's kinda the point I was making in another thread.

Wanting a "blocking TE" is all well and good... but Andy is still picking the players here and he cares more about his weight watchers program than he does about a TE being able to hold the edge on a run.  A TE in this offense has to be able to run a helluva seam route and cause some matchup problems for the passing game.  If he can do that, and that alone... he'll not only stick on the team, but he'll get a good amount of PT.

That's what it looks like they got in Ingram... and that pic just told me I need to step my game up a little bit in the gym.

Once I found out that Ingram came to Florida as a quarterback this pick made a lot more sense.  Andy loves to pass but is basically limited to only only one pass per offensive play.  NO LONGER!  With the addition of Ingram we can expect to see 20 more pages added to the play book encyclopedia with our new multiple pass offense :yay

I like the pick and think Ingram was a great value in the 5th round. Would have liked a TE who can also throw a block, but considering how much the Eagles run out of multiple receiver sets anyway it's not like Andy Reid has ever asked the TE to seal off the edge much. Celek will probably start and I hope he's become a lot better at the blocking part of his game. Schobel has given us nothing so Ingram's got to be a slight upgrade from that. Overall a pretty good pick but I'd like a better #3 vet to push Schobel off the roster.

I wasn't crazy about the Maclin pick. I think he'll be fine but I wanted Pettigew or help on defense. The board didn't really fall to us the way I'd like.

I desperately wanted the Eagles to take another RB in the 6th or 7th rounds - Rashad Jennings and Kory Sheets were on the board forever. Instead, they took a few fatbodies who most likely won't make the roster.

Happy?

For what it's worth, there are very few ways in which a fifth rounder could be an epic bust. I'll settle for him being a contributing player, which I think he could be, and more. That said, it's a little early to call this guy the best or worst of anything associated with football. Odds say he'll land safely in the middle someplace. Crazy, I know.

IGY, I'm not saying that you're gay, but let's pretend, just for fun that you are a little on the inside.
If you had to pick a type of man, gun to your head, to have sex with. What kind of man would it be?
Maybe a muscular black one?

For what it's worth, there are very few ways in which a fifth rounder could be an epic bust. I'll settle for him being a contributing player, which I think he could be, and more. That said, it's a little early to call this guy the best or worst of anything associated with football. Odds say he'll land safely in the middle someplace. Crazy, I know.

You must remember, though, the only reason he was taken in the fifth was because of his knee. If he would have been healthy, he would have been selected before the 1st round

It's not like I wanted to have sex with him or have him impregnate my wife so we could have a fine chocolate, nubian baby. God....

there is nothing on it special what-so-ever Tom

im guessing the reason why igy is so enamored with the 5th rd pick is because hes tall, played freshman bball for Florida, sounded very modest, wants to learn in the NFL, got excited when he saw McNabb in the locker room and huddle and never had an uncle that played in the NFL

Ingram signed (http://tiny.pl/3f66)

4 years, $1.9M, $183K signing bonus.

QuoteThe talented and athletic former University of Florida Gator has looked very solid during OTA practices thus far and figures to hold down the No. 2 tight end job this season. Ingram didn't play football during the 2008 season after suffering a torn ACL last August.

Philadelphia signed two other draftees earlier Tuesday and now have six out of their eight draft class under contract. Only first-round pick WR Jeremy Maclin and second-round pick RB LeSean McCoy remain unsigned.

Mormon no doubt.

even though its ingrams first year they still expected him to contribute--especially in the red zone.

Im having a hard time believe that they go into the season with that scrap heap of tight ends. Im looking for a trade to happen soon--maybe alex smith on the pats (pats and birds seem to like to deal with each other), maybe even scheffler again under the circumstances

yeah they were trying to get burgess because the ends are so pathetic...and my point is why arent you questioning who the back qb or back up de's are more so than a stupid back up te...having a competant qb and a pass rush is >>>>>>>>>>>>>> having a competant te

the te in this offense is so overrated...and youre acting like they dont have a starter...seriously youre talking about a back up te...their te situation was horrible last year and they made the nfc championship...so calm it and at least wait until the starter gets hurt then start worrying
