Eagles open as a 9.5-pt favorite, O/U 42.0
Palmer already ruled out for the game, so Fitzpatrick will start
The Eagles have never won in Cincinnati
Albert/Moose/Goose will call the game
It'll be seen in PA, Ohio, DC, Richmond and Syracuse
meh.
every win from here on out i fear will extend fat asses stay here. obviously i want them to win, but at what cost.
They will probably lose. Then again as bad as Andy is, Marvin Lewis might be worse. This will be a coaching match-up for the ages.
ROAD TRIP!!!!!!!!!
I am so farging disappointed my lazy, unemployed ass isn't going to this game.
If only Obama was elected last year, I wouldn't have had to worry about this.
detour to charleston to pick me up?
Bengals 31
Eagles 2

True, if you're talking about his reputation 4-5 years ago. His reputation has been total trash for a few years now.
Cedric Benson was added to the injury list with a bad back and may not play
they are just setting up a great upset.
how is it an upset if the team being upset isnt any good and is coached by a fat moron?

Of course, it's more likely McNabb is a Bengal next year.....
i was in cinci for 20 minutes and felt dirty being so close to kentucky.
anyone catch chad's interview on the nfl network last night during the jets game?
he was pretty funny. when asked what he learned in the offseason he said "that unless your the franchise QB you can not dictate your own future or the future of the team so keep your mouth shut."
deion asked why his numbers are down this season and he replied "well you know im 30 now so im on the downside of my career and my #s are going to take a dive".
Eagles - 38
Bengals - 10
They'll get to see our old friend, the banjo strumming farg Dhani Jones.
Eagles 31
Bungles 13
Eagles - false hope
Bengals - nail in the coffin
So should this be the game thread? Can't think of a better title than this one...so what happens first?
muff or other inexcusable turnover
inside-the-20-vaginal-sprain
Whiff on CJ for a TD in the vicinity of dawkins
Piss poor clock management
Akers miss
3rd and 1 vaginal sprains
andy says it his fault
QuoteSometimes the pregame is more entertaining than the actual game and this has a chance to be one of those days.
Quite a scene developed early this morning, according to Eagles commentator Mike Quick and Eagles web site coordinator Dave Spadaro.
Both men witnessed Bengals star receiver Chad Ocho Cinco/Johnson cut into a line of Eagles wide receivers during warmups and run a slant pattern. When Cinco (Donovan McNabb) hit Ocho Cinco (Johnson) in stride, the Bengals' receiver went to his knees and looked up into the sky, then hugged McNabb.
Apparently Ocho Cinco has the same dreams at night as a lot of Eagles fans.
Great - maybe he'll make a reception and then hand it off to Asante...
Looks like the team came to play! Fastballs!
No roughing the kicker? That looked like more of a penalty than roughing the passer
IGY makes an appearance on camera, McNabb fumbles away. Somebody get him out of the stands before he causes another turnover.
Ha. For real.
Also, Andy Reid's on-going audition for the unemployment line is in full swing.
Shame that Buck couldn't keep his feet under him, I was actually enjoying the game for a second there.
I threw up in my mouth a little after seeing that bowtied, banjo-playing freak Dhani celebrating.
Akers from 40+ against awful teams = guaranteed money.
Akers from 40+ against division rivals = guaranteed pants wetting.
Why do they keep calling plays for LJ Smith? Why has Westbrook only carried it 4 times?
Nice hold that wasn't called on that kickoff.
Also nice to see an Eagles TE dragging guys for a change.
Calling a surprise wildcat formation and then not getting it off before the two minute warning... that's great coaching right there.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Quit trying to pass it to LJ Smith
I want so badly to be enjoying this debacle so I can scream and yell about Reid being fired.
But I just can't farging do it. farg these losers.
More passes thrown to LJ in the first half than touches for Westbrook. Nauseating.
Great game for the CF road trip. They could have saved some money and just laid around swapping AIDS needles.
I heard they got some chili out of the trip.
Screw it - I'm still rooting for this team. Maybe they'll do something with the kickoff out of bounds
They finally get a pass to Curtis, and it flies off his shoulder? Jesus.
What a clusterfarg of a game.
I meant something positive
Getting Curtis back is exactly like trading for a new #1 receiver.
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh wtf.
McNabb must have money on this game.
This is the worst farging team ever. farg Mcnabb.... farg Reid... farg LJ Smith... farg everyone.
:-D Talk about FUBAR.
Maybe IGY and the crew are blind drunk by now.
IGY went back to the hotel to watch the game from the hot tub.
I was debating taking my girl to her first Eagles game this season, but I'm not wasting money on this team. I'd go see nice seats to the Sixers.. atleast they beat zesty teams.
How the farg does Cedric fargin benson have 13 fargin touches and westy has 4 fargin touches. THis is so fargin farged up, farg you reid.
Westbrook has 6 yards on 4 carries, and 6 yards on two receptions. What a gameplan.
I can't decide which one I want. Have the Eagles come back, win and hear reid mumble about how he made adjustments. Or have them lose and hear Reid go on about how he knows they have a good team, better positions & :puke.
If the Eagles lose... they need to fire Reid immediately.
and we pray.
They've needed to fire Reid for two years now. He's not going anywhere until he needs a quadruple bypass.
Someone shoot reid right fargin now. Are you fargin serious
run fargin buck up the middle at that point.
They are 0 for life on 3rd and 1. Makes me wish I was a Panthers fan. Or maybe the Falcons.

That was McNabb winning 10 grand on this game.
This team fargin' sucks.
I don't give a farg what Reid/McNabb has done for the Eagles organization, how many records they hold, or what they've done for the community (if anything). I am so ready for the new coach/GM/Kolb era to begin. farg this shtein...

There's a broken knee.
First 3-INT game for McNabb since the Matt Bryant FG game.
It seems to be DB sack day.
What the farg were the Bengals doing there?
Odd coaching decision and a worse decision by Fitzpatrick

Great blocking by Westbrook there.
You know things are bad when even Rocca is playing badly.
I'm looking forward to see how the Eagles screw THIS drive up.
Looks like Curtis is getting his chance to blow it.
We did it! First down!!! hahah
Solo reverse on the end-around?
Time out to make sure they screw this one up.
I love third down pass plays that go short of the sticks.
HAHA. What a shtein game, this team has no heart. I'm all for it as long as it leads to major changes being made in the organization

yep here we go!! it's the battle of tarts.
McNabb's 3rd down pass to Westbrook knocked down by... Dhani Jones.
1:03 left, Eagles punt.
Dhani breaks up the pass to Westbrook. Super. Then Rocca punts another one out of bounds.
Christ - now the Bengals get another chance. Toilet Bowl already

This game might just end in a tie if McNabb doesn't turn it over again.
I actually like Sirigusa a lot. And he's gotten better over time. His first year he was a bit too personality-of-the day, and too jokey. Now I like his comments most of the time and when he's funny, it doesn't seem as forced. And he is funny from time to time too, which is nice.

Seriously we tied the farging Bengals. I'd rather spend money putting a billboard outside the stadium, then spend it on the team to watch them live.
funney
Guess which excuse Andy used to lead off the press conference?
I ____ put these ____ in better ________.
then he included "pie" in a response. Not kidding.
McNabb up now. "There were positives". Die.
wtf now he just said about the tie: "I didn't even know it was in the rules". He thought there would be a double-OT.... :-D
58 passes and 16 runs against a team that was f*cking 1-8 going into today's game.
It's like Reid is daring Lurie to fire him at this point.
So porn stash has two choices:
Salvage the remaining talent on the this current team by moving Reid out, hoping for an elway/broncos late-era-redemption with McNabb and few more players.
or
Ride this summabitch down the next three years cause:
he is cheap
can't find where wifey hid his balls
his unswerving man-love for fat boy
all is well lets trade out of the first round
Do the former and you get a pass no matter what happens for the next three years.
So the latter is what will likely happen
This team is a joke, from Banner, to Reid and the players. A farging tie with the Bengals. Might as well have lost outright.
Why the farg Reid doesn't go for it on 4th and 1 with less than two minutes left IN OVERTIME is beyond ignorant. What the farg, was he really PLAYING FOR THE TIE?!!?!?!?!?!? YOU STUPID FAT FARGING IDIOT!!
What more can this walrus ass bastich do to get fired!?!?!? His team was not ready to play this game at all. Unprepared is a understatement. He is no longer even a half decent NFL coach. He's farging terrible, awful, just plain farging bad. He couldn't call plays for a Pop Warner team.
This offense needs to be blown the farg up. No run blocking at all. McNabb looked like a fried shtein sandwich. His receivers suck donkey dick.
This defense can't stop any qb in the league much less some no name backup on a suck ass team that has only won one goddamn game.
It's farging pitiful. Banner and Lurie need to take their Gold Standard and shove it up their tight wad asses.
in case you missed it, I'll mention it again: McNabb thought there was going to be a 2nd overtime "because high school and college does" :-D
and Buckhalter says "Well at least it wasn't a loss." There's the spirit.
Serious? Really??
looks like Westbrook and Buckhalter didn't know either. The trainer told them how the NFL works... :-D
Andy. What. The. F***.
How can Lurie sit back and watch this go on? I mean, he has to do something about it now, doesn't he?
Hebron: "if you didn't know how the game ends, why did you throw a Hail Mary?"
so either McNabb is a f'ing retard, he follows everything Andy tells him to do, or both...
Believe it or not I think Reid is gone. It will come down to protecting Reid or saving his own ass and canning him. As much of a punk as Lurie is, he'll save his own ass first.
farg the actual score. This is a LOSS for the Eagles any way you insert the nozzle. This is a motherfarging embarrassment.
I must admit that I was hoping for the Eagles to lose this one from the start. As much as I want to see Reid gone right now I am willing to take an embarrassment of season to make that happen.
McNabb and Westbrook still have some good years left in them. Let's make this season a disaster, allow Reid to 'quit' and then try and make a run. I think this team has a lot of talent personnel-wise, and could be successful with a good coach.
In some ways the tie is almost better than a loss for getting Reid fired b/c it is another quarter of ineptitude that people can point to.
Beautiful game. :-D

Great story.
But anyway this was literally the most pathetic moment of the Reid reign of terror. He needs to be fired right now. I don't even know where to begin.

a bitchslap would be way too farging nice for that retard. a nice swift roundhouse kick to the throat would be more permissible. and fat ass should be brutally murdered, slowly. what a bunch of dumb farging nitwits.
im probably the biggest mcnabb fan on this board but that was the worst game he has ever played. good follow up to last week's game where reid probably called his worst game.
i mean hes had stinkers before but this one just terrible. i was scared of every throw thinking it would get picked off. he deserved to have at least 2 more INTs by my count.

farg andy reid. farg mcnabb for just a terrible display of anything the QB is supposed to do.
i would complain about the lopsided play calling in a very close game but that's just a given in every game.
So when does Reid throw McNabb under the bus to assure a few years to "rebuild" - or at least one to "reload"? Will Lurie buy that?

Spew threw McNabb under the bus in today's "On the Inside". Didn't mention Reid at all.
If that's true that's bullshtein. McNabb didn't tell himself to pass the ball 58 farging times and ignore his best offensive player while doing it.
I just heard McNabb's press conference, and what a fargin idiot. He actually said he'd never been a part of an overtime game, and he would hate to see what would happen in the playoffs or superbowls. Holy shtein are you serious dickhead? :crazy You sir, are a complete idiot.

QuoteBengals say they knew what was comingBy JOSH KATZOWITZ
Philadelphia Daily News
For the Daily News
CINCINNATI - Bengals cornerback Johnathan Joseph didn't care that the Eagles had the fourth-best scoring offense in the NFL entering today's game. He didn't care that Donovan McNabb had thrown for 2,372 yards, fourth-best in the league, and had tossed only five interceptions in 324 attempts this season.
The Bengals - coming off a bye - had 2 weeks to prepare for the Eagles' offensive attack, and when Joseph finally saw McNabb and his receivers in person, he knew what was coming much of the time.
Certainly, nothing the Eagles threw at Cincinnati threw Joseph for a loss. Forget the statistics. He knew much of the game plan.
"From watching film, other teams in the league have been successful against them," said Joseph, who recorded one of the three Bengals interceptions and tallied three pass defenses during the 13-13 tie. "They may have a lot of yards or whatever, but teams have been successful getting them off the field. They have tendencies you can pick up on and you have a good idea of what's going on."
The big stress in Cincinnati's defensive meetings this week was to stop the Eagles on third down and keep the them off the field as much as possible. In that sense, the Bengals were successful, allowing the Eagles to convert only three of 18 third-down attempts as Cincinnati held the ball more than 8 minutes longer than the Birds.
Even when the Bengals couldn't make the big play, they still had a pretty good sense of what to expect. Just ask Joseph, who had a chance to turn the game during overtime, dropping a sure interception from McNabb that would have given the Bengals possession in Eagles territory.
"They run those 14-yard curl routes - they ran them like four or five times today - so when they do that, the safeties were going to be aggressive and the corners were going to be over the top," Joseph said. "On that particular play, that's what happened. He overthrew it a little bit and I had a chance to make a play on the ball. I just took my eyes off it. It's one of those things that you think is an easy play and the ball goes through your hands."
The Eagles' defense, meanwhile, made its mark on Cincinnati. Bengals quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick was sacked eight times, and the Eagles - led by defensive ends Trent Cole and Darren Howard, both of whom recorded a pair of sacks - kept the mobile Fitzpatrick from hurting them with sneaks and scrambles.
"A couple of those today, where it was a 2-yard loss or a 1-yard gain, when we played Jacksonville, it would have been a 20-yard gain," Fitzpatrick said. "They're good. They're not afraid to pressure the quarterback and not afraid to blitz guys. They do a good job. Their ends are fast up the field and we had some problems running against them today. They did a good job of getting me a few times where I thought I was going to get loose."
The result for the Bengals, a team that scored its first win of the season 2 weeks ago and is playing in front of a frustrated and apathetic fan base, could be construed as a positive step. After all, they didn't lose the game.
But that's not the way they saw it. They thought they should have beaten the Eagles.
"It almost feels like we lost," said receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh, who caught 12 passes for 149 yards and Cincinnati's only touchdown. "We were winning a majority of the game. The defense played great, and a lot of guys sucked it up on offense. We had great field position in overtime. We just didn't get it done."
Nobody took it harder than placekicker Shayne Graham, who missed a 47-yard field-goal attempt with 7 seconds left in the extra period that would have won it. He said the wind behind him was moving briskly from left to right and he aimed left, but he kicked it straighter than he wanted. While the kick appeared good when it left his foot, the wind pushed it wide right.
"I hate looking back on any kick in my career, knowing I should have made it, and this is one of those ones that I can look back on and get disappointed about," said Graham, one of the most accurate kickers in NFL history. "I'm more disappointed than anyone else. I don't think there's anyone else - a fan, a coach, a player - who's more disappointed than myself. I missed an opportunity to give us a win, and wins aren't coming very often for us." *

I agree. I felt like shtein watching that "game" yesterday... and realizing just how zesty this team is. Today, I'm just numb to it I think. It's not even farging up my week like a loss normally would.
I'll watch the games, but with low (very low) expectations... there's less chance for disappointment.
58 pass attempts
Westbrook caught 3 of them
Ha.
Now even the Bengals know what's coming from Reid. Is there anyone left on Earth who thinks this guys should have a job?
the team just looks like they are playing in sand. no life. westbrook can't be healthy...he looks slow. i'd rather have Buck in the game than a hurt westbrook. the receivers again keep dropping passes. curtis is playing like shtein. the defense is the only thing that looks decent. trent cole looks like the only player on the team who is still playing. either way i don't care. id rather see them not win a game the rest of the year...get the ball rolling for Reid to get out of town. Hell at this point I don't care who loses their job, big changes are needed.

I'm going to take a look at the TOP stats for the season once this game is over. The farging BENGALS are out-possessing them... unreal.
In their 5 wins this season the Eagles are averaging +5:38 time of possession. (They out-possessed the Seahawks by over 14 minutes, they were out-possessed by the Niners by 6 and a half minutes.)
In their 4 losses and 1 tie they are averaging -6:07 time of possession. (They were out-possessed by the Giants by over
18 farging minutes.)
Fire everyone.
more about westbrook is he hurt still? it can not be the line cause it is pretty much the same as last yr and yrs past.
he has to be hurt. there is no burst or quickness on those moves. i see LBs covering him pretty well.
in the past even if he is shut down in the running game he would still get a big play or two in the passing game. if he really is this ineffective they need to work in buck a lot more.
he is obviously hurting. it shows. that being said i think the entire team is hurting from lack of motivation. i think the team is sick of reid honestly, each week some players seem to hint at the problem. the media is finally starting to wave the fire andy reid banner. another few weeks of crappy coaching and play and someone has to get into the emerald castle and start questioning Lurie.
some fun facts:
3 of 18 on 3rd down possessions - no new news here, just wanted to bring it up AGAIN
Buckhalter had 1 rush and 1 catch. Meanwhile Westbrook is obviously not healthy enough to play

This team needs to be blown up mid-season. Enough is enough.
Peter King made some sort of sarcastic quip about Philly fans calling for Andy Reid to be fired in his Week 11 Predictions. I wish I could take a peak at his mailbag after this weekend's shteinshow.
the media, or should i say the least informed supposed experts, seem to think reid is one the best coaches in the league and should be here forever.
just last yr madden was slurping reid on air about how he is the right coach for philly and how he fits the city perfectly.
if he meant ugly and overweight than he was right.
btw i think yesterdays game was most similar to last yrs loss to the giants in NYC. very close game...run game abandoned...mcnabb clearly off the mark but they keep passing. only difference was that this time it was no sacks but more INTs.

I agree. Who the farg watches football, let alone plays professionally, and doesn't know that there is only one quarter of OT. The players and coaches easily demonstrate how stupid they are during the 60 minutes of a game so why are they trying to further prove it afterward?
as a sidenote, they should modify the rules after the season that if a game goes the full length of overtime, that they go to college OT format.
No. They shouldn't. If two professional teams are too inept to score even once between the two of them in a single overtime period they each deserve a tie on their record.
I was shocked that Andy Reid didnt call a timeout during the coin toss in OT

85 will be a bird next year.
he has too much of an "I want to win" mentality to wear Eagles green...
Plus, Reid's master plan of striving for mediocrity every year doesn't encompass a star wide receiver who talks a lot. He'd rather have quiet wide receivers who can't catch.
it doesnt suprise me that some players didnt know the OT rule....the comment that is just incredible is that when told that there was ties in the nfl donovan talked about how that wouldnt work in the playoffs or superbowl...like he thought that there were ties in the postseason as well
has anyone made mention of how unbelievably hard mcnabb was throwin the ball all day yesterday...he was gripping the ball like it farged his wife and then cocking his arm back as far as he could on every pass and throwing it as hard as humanly possible
he was either trying to compensate for the wind or picturing reid as the WRs.
thank god he threw it that hard...there might have been 2-3 more INTs if he didnt.
Well, I'm back. And it was really farging cold in the nosebleeds.
By the second drive, my crowd was almost chanting "minimize the stupid". We should've known better.
As we were leaving the stadium, so old cooch yells out, "Hey, we suck, but you guys might suck worse!" I responded, "Lady, no one hates the Eagles more than their fanbase." Which got a small round of applause from the Eagles fans nearby. Which was nice.
At least the ribs at Montgomery Inn were excellent. I think that was the worst game I've ever witnessed. Blow it up and start over.
There are a lot of reasons why Reid should be fired, but not going for it on 3rd and 1 with less than two minutes left in OT is the big one, imo. When your 0-3 in your division and your season is on the line, you don't play for a farging tie. If you can't get one goddamn yard on your last possesion when your tied up in OT against a team with one win 11 weeks into the season, you should lose. At the very least, Reid should have given his players the chance to win.
He's a goddamn coward. What farging good does a tie do this team? None, absolutely none. Reid can't even face the media and tell the fans who have been so loyal to this team the truth about were they are at this time. Everything he says is a pacifistic front. He either thinks we are stupid, or just is so goddamn arrogant that he doesn't care or think we deserve the truth. This team sucks, and he wouldn't admit it if he had a loaded gun pointed at his head.
This team needs a real coach. Reid has lost it. He's done, and everyone knows it but him.
i really wanted them to quickly line up and have mcnabb just QB sneak the ball for that one yd.

Then like I said, they
should lose. Did you actually think they were going to get the ball back?!?! Did you?!?
Are you saying you condone Reid playing for a
farging TIE?!?!
unless a tie mathmatically eliminated them from playoff contention theres no way you go for it there....period
A tie wasn't, and didn't get them into second place, it got them last place. A win, and they are tied for second with the same record as Dallas and Washington.
A loss, and they are a game in last place instead of a half game. Last place is still last place.
actually the half game means a lot...its almost like a free tiebreaker against other teams that lose...for example if the birds win this week and the taterskins/cowboys lose that tie moves them ahead of them rather than just tying them...hell if the falcons also lose youre in the playoffs as of this week
bottom line is in that situation with a hideous passing game and an even worse short yardage run game on your own 20 you dont go for it unless the season was on the line and thats not even close to the case yet
Agree with IGY... The good news about the tie is that it makes all the tiebreakers the Eagles WON'T have meaningless.

I dunno - a son in the big house with Oxy's in the bung is a pretty memorable coaching moment, too. Right up there with Kotitie's rain-smeared PAT chart. Or maybe Ryan's early game exit up the ramp.
Good times
Bill Simmons sums it up (http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/picks/081121):
QuoteYou know how Mike Holmgren is retiring after this season? I think Andy Reid retired three years ago. That's the only explanation. He just didn't tell us. Our friend Mike Lombardi did a nice job breaking down the epic "Four Two-Minute Drills" debacle Sunday in Cincinnati; that game was so unbelievably bad that NFL Films should be working on a one-hour documentary about it. I'm not even kidding. That was the worst football game ever played. We need to spend a solid year interviewing people and breaking down the key moments so we can place it in its proper historical perspective.
So, what would the Bengals-Eagles documentary be called? I vote for either "Four Hours Of Life That Nobody Will Get Back" or "The Longest Turd." Either of these will do. I don't care. And, yes, I wanted this show even before McNabb pushed the epicness (epicity? epiciousness? epicism?) of such a memorably putrid game by admitting he didn't know the overtime rules. I thought Warren Sapp summed it up well:
"Donovan, your legacy will be throwing up in the Super Bowl, Rush Limbaugh and now -- not knowing there were ties!"
I'd also throw in Campbell's Chunky Soup commercials, but, yes, that's probably it. I have watched far too much of the Eagles this season (again, for fantasy purposes) and would evaluate McNabb's 2008 performance like so: out of shape, careless, semi-competitive and uninspiring. The fact that Philly can't run the ball in short-yardage situations but McNabb never, ever, EVER runs QB draws or sneaks should tell you something. I think he just doesn't want to get hit anymore. He seems like a guy on his way out of the league to me.
i agree with the out of shape comment. mcnabb seems to be bigger every season.
careless = he could care less
thats how hes always been...wants to win and if he does thats great but if we dont well get em tomorrow or next week or next year or next career or next lifetime....whatever
as someone who was sitting in the 5th row in the endzone for the entire second half of the game, i agree that it was easily the worst game i've ever seen.
I can vouch the same for the GameCenter crowd.
wasnt it on in baltimore or do you prefer gamecenter
no man, the Baltimore game was on and nothing else in that time slot
