Giants to cover sounds like a solid $100 for IGY.
We were talking about the line at the bar, guessing what it'd be, and I guessed at least Giants -4.5.
Go team.
Eagles lose this one.
Eagles 20
Giants 31
Eagles 23
G-men 20
I think that the Eagles have a chance to win this game if the defense plays the way it did for the final 55 minutes yesterday. But if they don't play top notch defense all night Sunday the Giants will roll. Two solid wins against marginal teams has me feeling stupidly optimistic despite the fact that I should know better.

I think that the Eagles have a chance to win this game if the Giants trade Eli Manning for Seneca Wallace this week.
The Giants aren't that much better a team, but this is the kind of game this year's Eagles team is certainly going to find a way to lose. I predict that it will be infuriating and (maybe literally) vomit-inducing.
The Eagles will be in the game but in order to win they'll have to play well in the 4th to hold off the G-men. I haven't seen them do that this year.
Must score TDs in the red zone. Fail.
the giants are certainly more talented and a better team but where they lap the eagles and the reason why they will probably win sunday is coaching....coughlin is so much better a coach than reid its not even funny....and we are coming off one of any reids all time worst coached games and a first half yesterday that was his single worst half of his career
Coughlin is a walking clusterfarg as a coach, especially on game day. He was abysmal in Jacksonville and the Super Bowl run last year had nothing to do with him. At. All.

Reid has messed up many, many halves of football more than that. It wasn't the coaching that had Donovan throwing the ball into the ground. Hyberbole alert!
Plus, even if true... wouldn't it mean that he's "due" for a good one?
WORST HALF EVER!
The big difference between the teams is the Giants do the little things well that the Eagles don't , like converting 3rd downs, scoring in the redzone, establishing a run game to take pressure off the QB, kicking an occasional FG over 40 yards. I say 'little' because the list is so long that if the Eagles could do these things well they'd probably win this game.

The more I think about it, the more asinine it sounds. They gave up 7 points, when a guy that Reid relegated to backup duty blew a coverage completely. The offense scored 14. Aside from not running the ball enough, which Reid has done plenty of other times with much more consequentially bad results, how can anyone put the team's bad performance on Reid?
You're reaching, IGY.

exactly...most of which is directly related to coaching
and the only thing that possibly prevented yesterdays first half from being reids worst ever was playing seattle...against any other team they would have lost that game by three touchdowns and wed all be hanging him right now...but even with the win i got my eye on andy

This is what it'll come down to. The Eagles will probably end up trading FG's for TD's with the Giants... with the obligatory goal line failure mixed in there just to make it stank a little.
As part of a new program being instituted in the NFL to allow whitey to get a leg up, TD's to white guys will count for 8 points. All the Birds have to do is triple-cover Kevin Boss, and voila!
McNabb will throw 1 TD to Celek, 1 TD to Herremans, 1 TD to Curtis, and 1 TD to Klecko.

It's not like he's going to run anymore this season anyway. He got that out of his system against the Falcons.
i would like to believe the eagles can beat the giants. realistically i know they will lose but what will make it so infuriating will be the fact it will be close.
the giants are not going to blow them out. they will pound the ball with all 3 of their backs and wear the defense down. im not sold on the RUN D of this defense just yet. if they could somehow contain the giants run game then i would be shocked.
i see the score as 21-17 giants.
Sunday night, prime time, national-eyes-on-the-match-up = terrible start, ill-advised passes, poor play calling, short-yardage abominations, field goals instead of TD's, WR's who can't get open, sacks from holding the ball too long, and lessee, another dawkins-is-close-to-done burn in the secondary. Mebbe throw-in some poor clock management.
Team hasn't won a prime time game since Christmas day 2006...
Eagles in a squeaker, 42-40
I just get the irrational feeling that the Eagles will win this one.

Will Winston Justice be anywhere near the Linc? :paranoid

Ok people lets establish problem number one for the eagles. its andy farging reid. will you stop getting on mcnabb already. without mcnabb this team is 0-16 in reid's offense. just stop it already. he should of called westbrook/buck/bookers number early when mcnabb wasn't hitting his targets, which he does every now and then. last two weeks were a good example, but mcnabb has proven to be on more than off. look how he responded for the rest of the game...going what 19-20? what else do you want out of him people. reid coaches on faith not logic. we're screwed until the beast is dead. plain and simple. go eagles, rah rah rah...
excited to see asante lined up on plaxico. not so excited to see our D against B. Jacobs. too much talent on the Giants side. not enough coaching smarts on ours. i can almost guarantee clock management and blown timeouts to be a factor in this one. if reid gets pass happy we have no chance. the gints d-line will eat up mcnabb. now i wonder how they game plan this week knowing they face a team that can get to the QB easily. I can't wait to see this disaster.

:-D
I don't think for a minute that this o-line can keep the Giants D, third ranked in the NFL, off McNabb. They are playing better than they were last year with Strahan. I don't think this offense has enough weapons to counter Bwest, and look for the Giants to key on him. They have the linebackers to do it. Reid won't run the ball anyway.
The Eagles D will be tested to the limit. The Giants have the second ranked rushing attack in the NFL, one yard behind the Falcons. And yeah, I know the Eagles stopped the Falcons, but the diff is that the Giants have a seasoned qb with veteran receivers to mix it up with. Brandon Jacobs has 680 yds. with an avg. of 5.2 per carry. And when he doesn't tote the rock, Ward is averaging 6.1 yds. per carry.
Tiki who??
I don't see the Eagles stopping this running game, 'cause if you stack the box, Eli will burn you. He also has the TE's and RB's to beat the Eagles blitzes.
I'm not saying the Eagles can't win this one at home, but I can't help but think that they will be exposed by the Giants who are a much better, balanced team right now.
Eagles 10

I don't see how they win this game. Especially when the nickel corner has a pulled vagina.
he is lito cept healthier and 3 more INTs.
Asante has been breaking on the ball great all year. When he first signed I figured at most it was a lateral move with more health...but IMO he has definitely proven to be a better CB all around.

pretty much how i feel...i even wanna say the eagles will win but other than being at home i cant really find a single reason that it would happen
im really concerned about the linebackers getting toasted in coverage all night...i see eli throwing tons of stuff short....5-7 yard crosses...stuff in the flat...screens to jacobs....this will eventually set up a long one or two to plax to seal the game late...28-17 giants
if reid runs enough..and not just runs but runs the right plays...some counters...some draws...that little push pass toss sweep they used to run to westbrook quite a bit...even a reverse or two...stuff that can keep the giants pass rush off balance...then they have a chance...but honestly i cant see that happening...in fact i would almost guarantee that the first offensive play of the game has the eagles in a shotgun...less likely but still extremely possible is three straight passes (and out) to start the game
I predict Andy sees fit to burn a timeout or two in the first and/or third quarter.

I always figure that to be a given. Maybe not the 3 and out, but definitely three straight pass plays to start the game.
Unless Samuel/Lito/Sheldon can grow a foot, it's almost guaranteed Burress catches at least on TD over the top. It seems like he has every game against the Eagles since the Giants signed him.
Regardless, I can't help but to predict:
Eagles - 24
Giants - 20
eagles 12
giants 10
I want to believe the Eagles win. God knows I do.
I think the defense will be game. I actually think they'll perform well for the most part. Unfortunately I also see a predictable, unimaginative offense doing little to help the defense stay off the field or flip field position and eventually, the D will fold. It'll be one of those game where the eagles are in it enough to be competitive... and they'll have a chance or two to really turn things in their favor... but in the end, they won't capitalize and we'll have to deal with the frustration and pain of knowing that it was a game they "could have" won. Just like every other loss they've had this year.

You are correct. I do not even give them a chance to win. The Giants will either roll or pull it out in the 4th. The Eagles have a soft team that will buckle one way or the other.
I would love to be wrong, but I've seen nothing from this year's squad that leads me to believe that they can win an important game against a good team.

Not that I think the birds are going to roll over anyone...let alone realisticly even win the game...
But were your eyes closed during the Steelers game?
And you're wrong enough to prove just how much you love to be wrong.
The Steelers game was early in the season against an AFC team - hardly important. I would trade that for a win against the Cowboys, Bears, or skins.
Can you go through the rest of the schedule and point out which of the remaining games are important enough to base future points of reference on?
Well, since they've already lost two in the division and three against the NFC, I'd say the only remaining games that aren't important are the ones against Cincinnati and Cleveland. If they win out except for those two, they're in like flint.
Baltimore is important because IGY hates them and because Munson is happy for Harbaugh and wacko for Flacco.
Clearing this up now saves dozens of posts later in the season. Strong work.
I fear it'll be a flashback to the days of Kerry Collins and Tiki Barber where the Eagles could not touch Collins and he'd work the hell out of the middle of the field and keep the chains moving all afternoon. Then Bradon Jacobs would play the part of Tiki; but rather than cut back to the weak-side, Jacobs will truck people.
The only thing that may not happen is Jacobs trucking...maybe the run defense can man up again.
But Eli, I think, is going to use Steve Smith and Plaxico like crazy.
I hope the Eagles somehow find a way to win.
who is this philly phreak guy?
oh and i dont hate baltimore
oh and every game is important when youre in a division that could have four playoff teams if it were allowed

In their three losses they took a 14-7 lead vs the bears, a 14-0 lead vs the skins, and they were killing dallas in the first half.
I am not sure they've been more than 10 points down at any point this season. In fact it may be at little as not being more than 7 points down.

They absolutely have to use pretty much everything in their playbook to win this game. They have to keep them off balance. I'd use DeSean a lot, both as a weapon and as a decoy. The Eagles will be able to move the ball between the 20s. I'm just worried about the red zone. I don't really see what else they can do to improve it without a major threat other than doing a little trickery down there like with Herremans. If they do the same old BS and settle for FGs then this game might get ugly.

They probably practice pass blocking at an even higher percentage.
It shows with the kind of holes they're routinely not opening up for Westbrook at the beginning of games. The line run blocks much better at the end of games.

McNabb: 1-7. 2 dropped passes that should of been caught. the receivers are FINE. westbrook...one carry and zero passes his way. hmmm nothing new being shown by the offense. love the gameplan so far. they are so over matched on defense.
loved the cornerback blitz call on the plaxico TD. how many times have they burned us with that play before. drives me crazy
WOW!! WHAT A fargIN HIT!
wow they tackled him by the legs and something good happened. go figure.
The defense is getting some turnovers, now the offense just has to drive down and...oh, who am I kidding? >:(
Haha Gocong almost took his head off.
dont leave your feet dumbass
omg a first down
great hit by Gocong...lets go offense
Hooray, stupid penalties on the Giants!
why do they call play fargin action plays when they pass 80% of the time. it kills me...it fargin kills me. mcnabb getting killed
YES AVANT TD
Oh, so that's what happens when receivers catch the ball in stride. Huh.
another completed pass
and another red zone TD
wtf
BIG TD drive. keep it up offense. i still want to see them run the ball more. defense needs a big stop here
avant stepping up.. show that man the ball.
um intentional grounding ?????
TE nearby, so no.
Joe Biden sighting.
So not only will the Eagles win, they will be complete douchey pompous iceholes about it. YES.
and if that's not intentional grounding, I don't know what is.

When they add in a "QB is a bitch" penalty, then they'll throw a flag on that.
giants gave them 14 points.. time to earn some for yourselves before halftime fellas.
They could have called holding easily there.
horrible play call, stop being pretty and play some smash mouth football
Here comes an easy Giants TD.
What the farg was that McNabb?
haahahahah

0/10. 3rd down in the 2nd quarter is hardly pressure.
on a play where he should of not tried to make a play he forces a throw and INT. Come on McNabb :boo :boo

last possession before the half to try and either tie or take the lead and have the momentum and the ball at the start of the second half is some pressure. especially when they know their lucky the game isn't already out of reach.
Except they're going to get the ball back.

Three straight runs up the middle for Buck with no FB!
that's pretty surprising. this plays right into the teams strength.. clock management.
can't wait to see this magnificant clock management
LJ caught a pass!
Westbrook screen sighting!
Only took 28:05....sigh....
Oh Jesus Christ, spiking the ball on second down?
what a disaster...tick tick tick
hahahhaahhahahahahahhahahahahahha A RUN!
So call the timeout when you pick up the first down? Brilliant!
Thank god Westbrook is on this team. Nobody else knows what the farg to do out there.
I'm shocked McNabb didn't pass that one for LJ to fall on at the 4-yard line.
Out-gained 2:1, but only down by 3! ROFL!
That was once again, some of the most piss poor clock managment I've ever seen.
Andy Reid must die...........or at least get fired.
1st quarter was non existent for the eagles. they need to play 4 qrtrs. mcnabb needs to get going from the start. i think if they would run more, this might help him settle in. otherwise he's struggled 3 games in a row now from the start. nothing changed though in the offense to help with this. im not sure who i can point the finger at
2nd quarter was better. still passing too much. defense stepped it up and made some stops.
giants have to be furious. they are dominating on paper.
thankfully its a 3 point game, but the birds need to be 110% this second half. they need to play 2 more quarters to win :-\
Eagles look like a bunch of Hoydas out there. Offense and defense.
Jesus...can they stop talking about the almight Jim Johnson and his predictable farging defense? I'm sick and tired of it. It scares no one and it rarely works....farg farg farg
The Eagles are lucky to even be in this game.
Westbrook runs for 1. Time to pass it thirty more times!
Running behind Runyan seems to be working.
3 RUNS ON ONE DRIVE IM IN LOVE
3 runs for a lot of yards.
beautiful...that was a beautiful drive
The Eagles have no legitimate right to be in this game. The Giants are letting them hang around.
I wish I was confident that they would hold onto this lead.
Only 36 yards rushing behind the Giants now.
Forcing turnovers and compiling drives are legitimate rights to be in a game....Just sayin.
That's the second time this year the fade to Baskett has worked....I'm shocked it was even called twice in the same year.
yeahhh baskettttt
Looks like the Giants are trying to choke this game away.
It amazes me still that Reid can coach in a division full of RBs and just not get it.

Fargin hell
Rhetorical question alert:
How come for just about every other rule about field placement, it's based on where the ball is, but this one?
Looks like the Giants have decided to stop farging around.
What a terrible farging call.
why is Akeem Jordan playing?
thats such bullshtein....such bullshtein!!!
worst call of the year.
Another question: Why in the hell is Al Michaels talking about the red line? It's not official, and I'm guessing that the ref doesn't get the red line on his replay.
its funny they used the red line as the determining factor since it was clearly not in the right spot.
Demps has to run North South, otherwise he's slow as hsit
The LOS marker on the sideline is ahead of that red line anyway, at least on that play.

Yes I am watching it in all it's HD glory. Stewart hooked his hand INSIDE the helmet. Look at the backside of the replay.
i didn't see him grab any face mask.. his hand slid across the front of it without grasping and then he grabbed the front of the left shoulder pad from behind.
lets spot them 30 yards of field position. this will end well.
Does anyone know if an Eagles/Giants came is supposed to be close and very physical? I hadn't heard anything about it yet.
He DID NOT grab the facemask. He grabbed his farging shoulderpad. Bullshtein.
Blind. Ass. Homers.
EXACTLY...first the god damn Eli over the line, now this facemask call, come on refs!
Either way, that was at midfield. The Eagles needed to nut it up and stop the Giants. Instead, they're biting the pillow.
WHY is Plaxico one on one with Samuel in the redzone with no safety help
Abiamiri sucks
Defense finally steps up without a penalty.
well looky there, maybe JJ could call the next offensive drive, fat farg.
big play, nice stop!!
That was definitely not a facemask, BTW.
yeah, he might have VERY QUICKLY hooked onto the helmet and then let go. However, that was a part of the old 5 yard variety that no longer exist. That was not a grab and twist in the least bit, and thus should not have been called.
horrible play call on the giants. Eli should of changed the play. oh well, we are still in it. lets get a real drive going

god andy is an embarrassment
westbrook hurt his wrist

This is exactly why 9 minutes is long enough for every team but this one. Because even if Reid did somehow call the right palys to get them down to score a TD....it'd take 6-7 minutes.

Season's over. Time to move on.

I love that McNabb is strong enough to shake sacks sometimes, but he needs to drop that 15-20 pounds he's put on since he came to the NFL. He obviously can't carry it around and it has severely hindered his running.
Maybe if he sits the first quarter and we just Wildcat to Westy and Buck he will make thru a 4th quarter.

My 2-year-old runs in circles for about 20 minutes straight. Donovan runs for 7 yards, and he needs to take 20 seconds to catch some air.

Tiki did nail it though. It's about time the fat farg starts getting called out on primetime. Old man Madden even calling him a dipshtein. Loved when Tiki said that Reid has become predictable. Hopefully the rest of the media starts picking up on it and the FO gets the f'ing point.

Bradley had a worse game in the run than Gocong. Gocong was awful in coverage. Bradley got driven 10 yards back I counted on about 10 run plays. Unexcusable.
i saw hedgecock many times laying out the LBs.
Everyone on defense ate shtein all night. There's no need to point anybody out; it was a collective effort allowing those 36 points and 400 yards.
Once a lineman or FB gets his hands on Bradley... goodnight. He's out of the play for good. He's horrible.
What I saw on most running plays was Bunkley, Patterson, Laws, whoever else getting blown out of the play, washed down the line, and the giants offensive lineman (Hedgecock also with a head of steam) getting free run at the second level.
Not saying that Bradley is a stud at all, far from it, but you could put some of the best LBs in the league back there, and if they aren't getting much help from the guys upfront, it's not going to be a ton better.
I hate this team.

over and over through the course of the game is going to wear down and generally move the LB off the play.

Yeah, but Bradley is totally eaten up. I mean, he can't even get a hand free to get on the RB to trip him up. If he is going to be overmatched by someone bigger than him... fine. But at least have the ability to get in on the play.

My thoughts exactly. At halftime, I turned to a Giant fan who was at the bar with me and told him, "There's no way in hell that we should be only down 3 points. This should be a 20 point game right now."
Andy Reid is a joke. He needs to be fired, now. Not at the end of the year, not in a couple of weeks, not next week, now.
His teams make stupid mistakes, and he cannot judge talent worth anything. He has no idea how to manage the clock, and is a terrible, terrible play calling game day coach. Last night, I believe Rich Kotite could have done a better job.
If not for McNabb, he'd have been fired a long time ago.

and where was westbrook all game?
if he is not getting anything by running the ball, the few times they did call a running play, AT LEAST pass to him.
i think there was only 1 screen called. no real design plays to westbrook. no crossing routes. every passing play should be for him or desean.

The Eagles have a rb that is one of the best ever suited for the screen play, and they don't friggen' run it. Just another reason to wonder why Andy Reid still has a job.
Look at the Giants offense. Last night they had at times...two TE's in, who are larger than normal TE's. Hedgecock is a huge FB. They were knocking the shtein out of the Birds. They are just not built to stand-up against these guys. Juqua Parker was shut-down. Killa was getting doubled-teamed all night and got owned a few times by Boss, but he still managed to rack up a sack and some really good tackles. The DT's, didn't do a damn thing except for a lucky Patterson INT and he was in on a sack too. The Giants run game is a thing of beauty and with the addition of two big blocking TE's and a FB...its almost impossible to shut down.

maybe it would not be so bad if he had someone like plax.
They are remarkably balanced but they aren't really all that talented. At least not disproportionately so. They just play to their players' strengths. Go figure.
oh and buck should have more than 1 carry. esp when westbrook cant seemingly find the hole.
run buck right up the middle and use westbrook as a decoy as a WR.
I still cannot wrap my mind around the fact that they ran the ball TWICE in that situation.

Had they converted it would have been...Spike on 1st down, run up the middle on 2nd down...take another minute to throw a FB release....4th down, INT.
he was wide open on that catch.
freddie mitchell makes that catch.
he blows as the #1 WR on this team. that curl play showed it. the other play... a deep in where ross looked more like the WR showed it.
in the pregame collinsworth said he wondered why mcnabb got off to such a terrible start against the hawks and he saw WRs who couldnt beat one on one man coverage. AGAIN Curtis.
yeah as a #2 or more likely as a #3 he is ok. like aikman said last yr....brown and curtis should be your #3 and #4 WRs. desean is great as a #2. they still need that one guy who isnt undersized, speedy, and demands double teams.

hahah probably true.
if i was calling it on that 3rd and 3 with 18 seconds left till the 2 min mark i line right back up and drop back to pass but have mcnabb just run it up the middle. take the 2 min warning, rest up, and go back to the passing attack.
I still can't believe they took a breather instead of running that 3rd down play before the 2-minute warning. Ridiculous.
reid needed that time to come up with the two running plays.
what i do not understand is why you do not call two plays anyway when you know you will have about 15 seconds to get a play off. gave the defense a chance to re group as well.
you line right back up and have mcnabb run it again up the middle for those 3 yards.

After I finished jumping up and down and being furious that they weren't running another play before the 2 min. warning, I thought to myself, "At least the timeout will give them extra time to get organized and come up with a play they feel good about to pick up the 1st."
...and they come up with that bullshtein. A toss 5 yards behind the line of scrimmage... and the ol' faithful dive play for no gain when you need a yard.

When will the farging media call-out Reid at a press conference? Who gives a fat farg if the team tries to "blackball" them. The first writer to out and out go after that mountain of a mumbling sound bite will be heralded for finally and truthfully exposing the many crevice-like folds that envelope the king who completely and utterly wears no clothing.
If the writers in the town are as tough as they think they are, then go after that farg - make him out and out say he ain't answering. After I finished jumping up and down and being furious that they weren't running another play before the 2 min. warning, I thought to myself, "At least the timeout will give them extra time to get organized and come up with a play they feel good about to pick up the 1st."
...and they come up with that bullshtein. A toss 5 yards behind the line of scrimmage... and the ol' faithful dive play for no gain when you need a yard.
i feel like the toss sweep was westbrooks fault...he had an opportunity to turn it up field and power thru...there were linebackers there closing but there was room and with his momentum he would have gained the yardage imo...instead he strung it out

i think he was trying to get to the sideline to stop the clock.
if that was his thinking it was an even dumber play then...the clock was irrelevant there the yard meant everything
Watching the twenty seconds before the two minute warning again today, I've come up with a new theory. McNabb was tired, but Reid didn't bother to get a play in. I think that was what the hands on his hips was about, more so than the dry heaving. I think if a play had gotten in on time, it would have been run.
personally i would have run a play there but i would have rather them get it right and pick up the first as there was plenty of time to score...to me if reid purposely let the clock run down to the warning i would gently disagree with the decision...but if they wanted to or meant to get a play in and botched it then that is where you fire people

I haven't look at a replay or anything but I thought I remembered both the LB's just sliding down the LOS stringing him out... and when Westbrook tried to power forward, one of them went for his legs (he was still about 2-3 yards back), and he tripped forward for another 2 or so.
Point being, I don't remember there being much room at all.
there wasnt a gaping hole that he missed but he also wasnt getting swarmed....there were backers there but at the same time there was daylight...imo had he turned it up he would have gained the yardage unless there was some phenominal solo tackle...but since he was running outside in space he had good momentum and speed and with his low center of gravity power i dont think that would have happened...either way by not turning it up he gave himself zero chance to get the first
fwiw baldy is in wip right now and said he watched the film yesterday and hes blaming westbrook as well for stretching the run out rather than cutting it up where he thinks he def could have had the first....altho hes partially blaming it on westbrook being hurt
he also said the number one thing that stood out on the film is how dominant fred robbins was against the eagles interior and on the flip side how bad bunk and patterson were against the giants line
So in short:
Feva > IGY and Baldy
how do you always know exactly what im thinking
Bunkley's been a disappointment

Bunkley's been a disappointment
its a farging broken record isnt it
who is the last first day pick (top 3 rounds) other than pimp who has even reached expectations much less surpassed them...the only other one i can think of thats close is andrews but after this year you have to almost list him as being closer to a bust than a good pick until he proves otherwise...
and the amount of straight up busts on the first day is awful
Yep... if you don't count Andrews, then you have to go back to Westbrook. 5 farging years ago.
I was all for the Bunkley pick and still think he can be a good player but his technique is still piss poor. What's the sense of having small quick lineman if they aren't gonna shoot gaps.

Think about this: The Eagles have 2 1st round picks next season.
Yikes
i loved the bunkley pick as well...and there were a few others in there i liked at the time...obviously not all teams are gonna hit on every player but the eagles track record is downright putrid
you could look past all the busts if they just mixed in a couple really good or great players during that time period...but they cant even do that
Picks in the first 3 rounds of the last 5 drafts...it isn't pretty:
Pick Pos Player College Note
2008
2. DT Trevor Laws Notre Dame from MIN
2. WR DeSean Jackson California
3. OLB Bryan Smith McNeese State - Project
2007
2. QB Kevin Kolb Houston from CLE through DAL

3. LB Stewart Bradley Nebraska from DAL
3.RB Tony Hunt Penn State
2006
1. DT Brodrick Bunkley Florida State

1. DT Mike Patterson Southern California
2. WR Reggie Brown Georgia from MIA; trade QB A.J. Feeley (2004)
2. LB Matt McCoy San Diego State
3. RB Ryan Moats Louisiana Tech from KC; trade OT John Welbourn plus rec'd draft pick 2004 5.30
2004
1. OG Shawn Andrews Arkansas from SF; trade draft pick 2004 1.28 and 2.26
3. CB Matt Ware UCLA
2003
1. DE Jerome McDougle Miami from SD; trade draft picks 2003 1.30 and 2.30
2. TE L.J. Smith Rutgers
3.WR Billy McMullen Virginia
brutal
like romey said its amazing they have even been a .500 team over the last four years
I wanted Ngata, but the Ravens pounced on him. I thought Bunk was a great pick though, he's not consistent in the least bit

at the time, considering the potential i thought the draft was amazing. bunkley in the first and justice in the 2nd? justice was projected to go in the first round.
Quote from: SD_Eagle on November 12, 2008, 09:50:18 AM
2. DT Trevor Laws - Serviceable backup at best
2. WR DeSean Jackson - HIT
3. OLB Bryan Smith - Who knows?
2. QB Kevin Kolb - Career backup
2. DE Victor Abiamiri - Not an impact player
3. LB Stewart Bradley - Semi-HIT
3. RB Tony Hunt - done
1. DT Brodrick Bunkley - Mild disappointment for first half of first round
2. OT Winston Justice - Awful
3. OLB Chris Gocong - Still don't understand drafting a pass rusher and making him play in space
1. DT Mike Patterson - Meh
2. WR Reggie Brown - Meh
2. LB Matt McCoy - LoLlerskates
3. RB Ryan Moats - Is Westbrook scared yet?
1. OG Shawn Andrews - Missed rookie season, missing this one... still HIT
3. CB Matt Ware - Tweener Schmeener
1. DE Jerome McDougle - BANG BANG BANG BANG
2. TE L.J. Smith - Tough to say... Semi-HIT
3.WR Billy McMullen - OMG he's big
So, assuming Andrews eventually comes back and plays more dominant seasons, I'm seeing two very good picks, two pretty good picks, a few questionable picks, and some downright awful ones.

Whats equally amazing is how Reid always preaches that "it starts up front" and we have seen the interior trio get blown up over the years. Fraley used to get abused by big NT's. Jackson's had his lunch eaten on occasion too.
And it was disgusting how poor the Eagles front was against the Giants OL; Jacobs was well into the LBs before he even got touched. I was hoping Coughlin would get a case of stupid and keep Ward in there because they could at least stuff him a bit.
he preaches it and rightly so because thats where it all does stem from...the problem is hes incapable of identifying good players at those positions...and whats really scary is that the two tackles need to be replaced real soon
which is why i said last week at the very least they need to get a real gm in here next year....and let that person be andys boss and andy be accountable to him...because for all intents and purposes he doesnt have a superior right now and that really needs to change
really he needs to be fired as the coach too but we know thats not gonna happen
andy will get a "make or break" year which looks to be next year. meaning before the season banner will tell eskin and the rest of his minions in the media that andy has to win this year or changes will be made (probably him being stripped of gm duties).
i remember eskin saying he wouldnt surprised if andys job was on the line, and he obviously didnt make that up. he makes things up about the phillies, but the eagles give him the talking points and this was thrown out there for a reason.
so its gonna another 2-3 season before reid is canned. hell he is such a stubborn control freak if he feels his job is on the line and comes to the realization that hes been doing a zesty job and cant win, maybe he'll resign.
I feel like Andy will quit before he is fired. He seems like he is ready to go at any time these days.
i dont think well ever know either way because i dont think he ever is publically fired...even if it is a banner/lurie decision the team will paint it either as mutual or andy decided it was time to step aside
Theyll let him step down, no way they ever fire him.

That will
never happen with as tight lipped as the Eagles brass is. You think they will hang Reid's job out like that? No way. That sounds like something Al Davis would do.
while i put nothing past banner i agree
also eskins contact with the eagles is andy...he isnt tight with banner or lurie
Reid will probably die of obesity within the next three years, Jesus farg it's disgusting to watch someone do that to hisself.
Andy is just one of Eskins many contacts on the Eagles.
And Jeffy/Levy will never outright can Andy. They'll all have a little sitdown and Andy will agree it's time to move on. He'll wind up with the Raiders.
He'll wind up on The Biggest Loser tv show.
