Good fluff piece on Buck in today's Inky.
His comeback is pretty amazing. Despite his knees being held together with bailing wire, duct tape and JB Weld he has carved a niche as one of the better backup RBs in the game.
He's definitely one of my favorite Eagles, hard not to root for a guy like him.
Seems quite grounded.....how can you not cheer for a guy that bleeds green like he does.
great story, i hadn't heard about his brother.
Go Cbuck. We need him tonight, and I have no doubt he'll come through big time.
JINX!
I thought he played pretty damn well, all things considered.
if reid only kept running the ball.
2-3 times buck seemed to carry a defender for a extra few yards.

QuoteClass act. Buckhalter shared the wealth after his 1-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. After lunging into the end zone, Buckhalter got up and handed the ball to center Jamaal Jackson, who celebrated with a spike.
It was a sentimental gesture for the center, who lost his brother, Kamar, in an automobile accident two weeks ago

how bout the writer trying to portray Bucks picture to the title of his story
I mean he could of chose any football pic of him in uniform, running through a defense, instead the writer picks a picture of him looking like eddie murphy strung out...cute
wait...buck smokes weed?
Him and Darrell Crutchfield
ha....dudes cruising with 115 viles of cheeb in a Toyota Echo....
Im sure he has motives there, but man I dont know if I could even swallow my pride as a drug dealer driving that car
pro sports athletes smoke pot, go figure.
is there anyone ever who hasnt smoked weed?
ummmm, no. it's illegal. thanks.
I wonder how many "glass vials" of pot will be in the evidence locker next week :-D

The same number as were reported. Now, how many were actually in his car before they started counting is a different story.
Now you're just showing off.
Nah, you did. I bet more people remembered Carroll than did Crutchfield.

bunch of weirdos.
For real.
people need to get involved
Shockingly, Buckhalter denies the allegations (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3994452).
You all suck.
Disappointed in the lot of you.
i think they are saying they dont smoke weed NOW....no chance theres normal people out there that havent EVER done it
I would have nothing to gain by telling this board whether or not I have done it, and neither would anyone else.
That said, there are plenty of "normal" people who haven't tried it. There are also plenty of whack jobs that have tried it or do it a lot. I'm just going to assume that you are once again being the king of hyperbole.
Regardless, it's not as if this board is filled with normal people.
just because youre not 'normal' doesnt mean youre a whack job
It's binary. Sorry, whack job.

I haven't. Not because I think it's wrong...but because I have something of a problem with moderation. It's easier for me to not start than it is to stop.
I can see where you might be a little nervous Zan because all it would take is one game of you playing Madden blazed and you might get hooked so stay away

"we were always told that having a hard head makes a soft behind. " That is a bad combo for a prison stay... Just sayin...
Plenty of people have never smoked. What's so shocking about that?
its shocking to me and i wasnt even ever a big smoker....i guess my world was just filled with druggies...ive just never met a single non female that never at least tried it
one thing i think we can all agree on here is that weve all smoked less than buck

I'm not really following you. One is legal and a lot cheaper. Plus, I've heard that you can't truly appreciate the feeling of being high until you try it.
In what world is alcohol cheaper than weed? You can get high for $10.
and weed is about 100000x easier to get than alcohol up until your 21
Case of Miller Lite = $15
Enough weed to split 3-4 ways = more than $15

never had a 40 huh?
bang for buck weed wins
not even close
3 40's of high gravity is like six bucks and will put most heads to bed
Most guys I know toyed with the stuff back in the teens, including myself. As somebody noted earlier, weed was ridiculously easy to get your hands on, and cheaper then as you usually had to pay someone off to get you booze, plus you could go out behind the house, smoke a bowl, and be back inside watching X-Files within minutes, and no hangover. Ah, memories.
you had to pay people to get you alcohol?
i thought that was only in the movies?
To get it with any regularity and in denominations larger that a few beers, or anything in a state store, yeah. I'm talking when I was 16-17. There was no way any of us was walking into the ABC and coming out with a fifth.
we used to pay the workers from the GM plant to buy us booze if we got shut down from buying it ourselves.
maybe because im an old man but when i was growing unless you were like 12 tryin to buy no beer stores even carded
honestly i think it all started at 9/11
little stuff like making sure 15 year olds didnt go see r rated movies began. pre 9/11 no one gave a shtein, but all of a sudden they had security guards outside of old school. that obviously translated to buying booze.
go usa.

Well that's great if you're making Buckhalter money, but what about Joe Sixpack?
If you're not a pothead or smoking schwag, a bowl will get you as good as a 6 pack will. Price wise they're similar.

not to mention a sixer does dick all for me unless I drink it awful fast
I've watched most of my friends smoke, giggle for about an hour, then eat and fall asleep.
I'd rather be drunk.

Munson just made a great argument for smoking.
EDIT: Two actually...
1. It makes you happy and then you fall asleep.
2. He doesn't.
Let's not forget, weed doesn't give you hangovers.

QuoteConvicted Drug Dealer Apologizes to Buckhalter
Posted by Mike Florio on March 24, 2009, 9:16 a.m. EDT
Styles Beckles, a drug dealer who was on trial last week in Philadelphia, has apologized in writing to former Eagles and current Broncos running back Correll Buckhalter for a written statement claiming that Buckhalter routinely bought high-end marijuana from Beckles.
The apology, released by Beckles' counsel and forwarded to PFT, states a follows:
"I want to apologize to Correll Buckhalter and [former Temple football player] Keita Crespina for any personal or professional embarrassment I may have caused them. I [was] coerced and manipulated into making a statement implicating these two gentlemen as purchasers of marijuana. The State Police wiretapped my phone, listened to every phone conversation I [had] in [D]ecember 2005 and January 2006 and twisted those conversations out of context to convince a judge I was a drug dealer. Nothing could be furthe [sic] from the truth.
"I never sold marijuana to Correll Buckhakter. The police listened to one conversation I had with Correll and decided it was about marijuana. Its [sic] not the truth. I have never sold, talked about selling or given marijuana or anything else illegal to Correll Buckhalter.
"I went to Temple University with Keita Crespina. Again, the police listened to a lot of private phone converstaions [sic] I had with Keita, twisted the conversations into something tehy [sic] were not and used erroneous conclusions about those conversations to convince a judge I was a marijuana dealer. Nothing could be further from the truth. I have [not] sold or given anything illegal to Keita.
"I hope Correll and Keita will accpet [sic] my apology. You do not deserve this. My life has been a real life version of 'Enemy of the State' since my arrest on February 1, 2006. And my life has been a real life version of 'Training Day' since I was rearrested on April 24, 2008."
Whether anyone believes Beckles remains to be seen. A jury heard his version of the events last week, and opted not to find that reasonable doubt existed as to whether Beckles was a drug dealer. And so the jury convicted him on two counts of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
Thus, it's also reasonable, in our opinion, to doubt Beckles' denial that he sold drugs to Buckhalter — and likewise to doubt Buckhalter's denial that he purchased pot from Beckles.
I like the end of that. I enjoy being told so plainly what conclusions I can come to.

No pipes for me, never liked keeping paraphernalia around. A friend one time showed me how to do up a blunt. I was always a cigar smoker, so that to me was the best of both worlds.
Did anyone mention that weed doesn't give you a hangover??
