QuoteRashard Mendenhall, whose first career start will come against the Ravens on "Monday Night Football," recently sent a text message to friend and Ravens rookie tailback Ray Rice saying he's going to have a big game against the NFL's top-ranked defense.

Obviously, Rice, who often praises the Ravens' defense as "scary," passed the text message along to his teammates, who are not taking Mendenhall's proclamation lightly.

"He said later that he was just joking, but it's too late,'' Ravens linebacker Bart Scott said. "Thanks for the bulletin-board material, rookie."

ha....Bart acting all tough

If Fitzpatrick connects with Chris Henry, that might be the biggest all-time Wonderlic difference between QB and receiver.

And in the opposite direction, one of the biggest talent differences.

TKO just made a helluva INT...jump, tip and pull it in while going to the ground.

This SF=NO game is entertaining.

Favre has thrown 6 TDs.  :o

I guess Mangini decided to use his brain and allow Favre to throw.

The drunk pollack, Janikowski, attempted a 76yd FG to end the half.  :-D

Raider lead 15-0. The Chargers are looking brutal.

Bills are looking bad too.

I can't really get too excited about the Skins beating the Cowboys in the first half, but I can say I'm somewhat satisfied.

The Dallas defense seems to be horrible.  No championship with that large defiiciency.

Skins are doing their best to give Dallas this game now.

I can't decide what would be better for the Eagles next week, a defeated skins team hungry for a win, but depressed, or a triumphant team, possibly still celebrating.
Either way, a long, tough competitive game is good.
With mortal injuries.

The guy that scored the first TD for the Jags out of that formation the Phins used laast week, Montell Owens, graduated from my high school and played with my older brother. Really cool to see.

Yes! Put in the defensive coordinator for the worst defense in the league as the new head coach!

Andy disciple, Brad Childress, punted the ball down by 2 scores on 4th and 13 with 2:00 to go yesterday. Saying that he liked the way they were playing defense and thought they could get the ball back. With no timeouts.

QuoteNFL SUSPENDS ERIC SMITH FOR BOLDIN HIT
Posted by Mike Florio on September 29, 2008, 7:18 p.m.

Chris Mortensen of ESPN reports that the NFL has suspended Jets defensive back Eric Smith for one game, and also has imposed on him a $50,000 fine, for the hit that knocked out Cardinals receiver Anquan Boldin on Sunday.

The league determined that Smith launched himself into Boldin, and struck Boldin in the helmet, with Smith's helmet.

At a base salary of $445,000, the suspension will cost Smith $26,176, making the total price tag $76,176.  That's roughly the equivalent of three game checks for Smith.

Boldin looked to be seriously injured immediately after the hit.  But he is expected to be OK.

Honestly I thought the hit looked clean. HE didn't lead with the crown of his helmet...they actually kind of met facemask to facemask....it was just bad luck.

Honestly they weren't able to do anything against the Browns either. Steeler offense has been horrible since the third quarter of the season-opening Texans game.
