Quote"Update on the practice squad: Agent Ken Sarnoff confirms CB Trae Williams, from South Florida, will be joining the Birds for practice Monday. Williams, who played alongside Cowboys first-round pick Mike Jenkins in college last season, was initially seen as a second-round-type prospect, but this was a deep cornerback draft, and Williams measured in at the combine at 5-10, while struggling to break 4.5 in the 40. Jacksonville drafted him in the fifth round, then released him Saturday. It's unclear what this might mean for CB Kyle Arrington, the undrafted rookie from Hofstra who had a strong camp with the Eagles and seemed bound for the practice squad after his release Saturday."
this might be a dumb question but how much do PS players earn?
there's a rumor that Tank Daniels is back

there's a rumor that Tank Daniels is back
One day after Daniels was released by the Giants, the former Eagle was claimed by the team off waivers. A rookie free agent signing of the Eagles in 2006, Daniels spent the first 10 weeks of the season on the practice squad before being elevated to the active roster. To make room for him, the Eagles released Rocky Boiman. Meanwhile, McDougle has signed a one-year deal with the Giants.
McDougle will now make the Pro Bowl

Daniels is nothing special but Boiman is terrible. Basically they traded McDougle for Daniels I suppose

At the very least he'll have the chance to sack Eli in practice.
I hope Tank is back. I liked him.

If his name was Percival instead of Tank you would like him much less.
Not that it at all belongs in the Practice Squad thread, but he is back, according to multiple Philly-area news sources.
Quote"I'm going to make my way down the Turnpike later this evening," Daniels said via a conference call Sunday.

If I was going off of names, yes.
But I like the way the guy plays and have since I saw him in camp several times.

where do i send my resume? you can use me as a tackling dummy couple of times a week for $4500.
to be fair, that's not a lot of money for a zero stability job, in a town you don't live in.
think about it. you get added by a team 1800 miles from where you live. do you get an apartment? I mean, you could easily be cut after one check, or two...who knows. do you rent a hotel? that's not cheap long term. you got flight costs, dining out (unless your hotel has a kitchen) when you aren't at the team facility, car rental if you can't get your car there, etc.
it sounds like decent money but if you think about it, really it's not
It's 72k for four months of work. Assuming that they don't try to live like professional football players, they can swing a decent middle class lifestyle. You can rent houses and sublet places over that kind of timeframe. Maybe even one of the roster players would rent out a room in his McMansion.
It's not a career, but it's a good temp job.
72k after taxes is what? and this assumes you're kept all season....hardly a lock
lay it all out on paper and I don't see how any sane person would do it...the only reason you do it is you're trying to make it to the big show and you're willing to do just about anything for the shot
Saw a post on the Cowboys forum that the Eagles apparently wanted that little fumblin fargbag Danny Amendola to come on the PS. I assume it was the PS.
I havent seen the episode yet though.

I would do it because I'd be getting a paycheck to play a game that I love.
There's about 85% of males in the US who would kill to be payed to play a sport. Or, in this case, be the tackling dummies with the SLIGHT chance of playing in the big show.

I've read 70,000 -88,000 yr. pretty good for being a tackling dummy huh?
QuoteThe Eagles signed defensive back Jonathan Hefney to the practice squad Tuesday.
Hefney was originally signed by Tampa Bay as an undrafted rookie this past May, but was later released in July. A four-year letterwinner at Tennessee, he appeared in 51 games including 50 consecutive starts, the most by a position player in school history. Hefney tallied 322 tackles, 22 passes defensed and 10 interceptions during his Volunteer career. Additionally, he gained 559 yards on 67 punt returns and 138 yards on eight kickoff returns. Hefney earned All-SEC honors as a senior as well as Freshman All-SEC honors following one year of prep school at Hargrave (VA) Military Academy. The 23-year old Hefney is a native of Rock Hill, SC.
To make room on the practice squad, the Eagles relased cornerback Kyle Arrington.
