Thanks to Ed, I just logged in to directv.com and set this to record. I can't decide which I love more: the big guy or DTV's online scheduler.

Betting on the preseason is for only the most hard-core (a.k.a. degenerate) gamblers.
that DTV Scheduler is freaking awesome
Very nice:
QuoteThe Eagles starting units will see plenty of action Friday night in New England as Andy Reid is slated to play his starters into the 3rd quarter. One starter that will definitely not play is WR Reggie Brown, who will be sidelined with a hamstring strain. Rookie WR DeSean Jackson will take his place in the starting lineup. As far as Shawn Andrews' status, Coach Reid has been pleased and encouraged by his week of practice but no determination has yet been made on whether he will see action on Friday night.

DeSean's on his way.
Team Foster is very pleased with this latest development.
Team Foster, eh?
Yes, the Ronnster is taking much delight in killing that joke.
Maybe we can bring back the "Ask Freddie Solomon" section on :CF?
I can't let you kill EVERY joke 'round here, can I?
Although, Ronnster? Go head and kill that one right now...
would that be deshay foster?

spadaro "interviewing" heckert. such challenging questions.
Glad to be watching the game but having to listen to the NewEngland (biased) commentators that cannot pronounce names right is going to dive me nuts.
OMG what a catch and run by Westy
Well I am no football genius, but I figure it's really easy to score points when McNabb has all day in the pocket and Westy is doing his sweet thang.
haha, nice red zone offense iceholes
all training camp we've heard about them practicing throwing the fade to Baskett, that was a perfect opportunity to try it and they call 3 terrible plays
Nice little effort by LJ there...to bad he didn't stay in bounds
But you aren't supposed to show anything in the preseason!
At least Rocco didn't flip it to one of the Pats LBs
Samuel just owned Moss
lol, how slow is Omar Gaither, jesus christ
Gaither is supposed to be the fastest LB we have.

If Jackson can avoid hitting the "rookie wall" he could be really good. Why did he drop to the 2nd round of the draft

So the new wrinkle at WR is they're not using them this week?
Ryan Howard went yard
That some kind of euphemism?
TD Avant
Did Casserly just call him Donovan Nignag?
Nice return on the kickoff there. It was great the way all those Eagles got themselves blocked for form a straight tunnel for him to walk right through.
RORY ATTACK
Nice hold by NE on that return and no call.
great, dawk hurt Good job Stewie
Can't see this game nor can I see the Phils game tonight....
Looks like McNabb is having a good game though

And one more free ride on the cart.
Jamal Jackson out with a concussion. Nick Cole in at Center
The other Jackson looked like he got hurt, and has been replaced by mini fridge.
Deshay Foster is ridiculous
If Jackson doesn't have a knee blown out before week 5, I'm going to start being excited.
BASKETTHYSTERIA
I wouldnt be surprised if Baskett fumbled that out of bounds like pinkston did
Baskett in the endzone. There's the twist
Spit on a Griddle? This is how they referred to Jacksons speed oh my
On Buck...when they traded for Booker I thought it could mean the end of Buck ..don't get me wrong I'm a Buck fan
Updates please.
Who got hurt?
Dawk and Jackson?
Did Vince WIlfork grab a spoon and eat Jamaal's brain?

Dawks ankle got rolled on, he limped off the field. They took him off on a cart.
Jamal Jackson has a concussion.
Good job there, hank.
nice play by Considine, its going to be great having him play all season if Dawk is out.
Awesome work by Considine there.

The top 3 at HB has been settled as can be as soon as Booker came aboard.

Relax, he'll get himself hurt soon enough.
First half observations:
-Anyone who doesn't want to have Brian Westbrook's man babies is a homophobe. We all know this already, but goddamn that guy can accelerate like no one I've ever seen.
-McNabb still looking good.
-Avant, Jackson, and Baskett (and hell mayeb even GLew) have better hands then Reggie Brown.
-Special. Teams. Demps showing the others how t o do it on kickoffs....just sprint straight ahead and find the hole. Stop Hoyda footing.
-Jackson in the open field. The punt and the WR screen, the kid is dangerous. I was very happy when he fell to them in the second round, hopefully he does shtein like this all year.
-Trent Cole is a monster
-Special teams coverage is still weak. Where are the wedge busters? The Ike Reese' of the world? Seems like they're throwing a bunch of Hoydas afraid to get hit out there on kickoff coverage.
-Good mix of run and pass. Luckily I have exactly ZERO hope that this continues in the regular season.

lol, Jackson is Freddie Mitchell, except he has skill.
McDougle has more sacks this preseason than he does his entire career
[ahmad]"Jerome....Jerome"[/ahmad]
Does anyone else's audio keep skipping?
yeah mine is
same here, they dont deserve an Emmy this year
14 pts on offense, 14 on ST, not bad against NE starters.
Has anyone head anything about Dawk yet?
And Joe Mays is aMaysin
Clever.
Have one for Demps yet?
IGY has one locked up there.
im uber drunk right now, yay me
I like the white on whites better than the green pants.
Sav Rocca has looked much more consistent this preseason, minus his toss to the defense
Two beautiful punts, one inside the 5, the other on the one
McDougle was the best player on the field tonight. He's a lock to make the squad now.

High quality video of the DeSean TD (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2SjWCjGpP-o) :-D
Sadly, that was still better than the feed I was watching.
I'll be watching the NFL Network replay tomorrow, but reading this gave me a major farging boner:
QuotePhiladelphia's Quintin Demps returned the kickoff 101 yards for a touchdown. And when Cassel couldn't get a first down on the next possession, DeSean Jackson ran back Chris Hanson's punt 76 yards for another touchdown on the final play of the half, making it 24-3.
Please tell me I didn't waste a rager, and this was as good as it sounds on paper.
Also, this bonerfied me, too:
QuoteAn early sign of the Patriots' futility came on their first offensive play when Randy Moss was thrown for a 5-yard loss on an end around. The tackler? Former Patriots Pro Bowl cornerback Asante Samuel, who signed a $58 million, six-year contract with the Eagles in the offseason.
And this, while not boner-inducing, was good to read:
Quote...and backup Kevin Kolb directed a 90-yard march to David Akers' second field goal on their opening series of the third quarter.
Well, it's a one in a million deal but it was still farging awesome.
I called both and as Demps was running down the field I was yelling "Quintin's on his wayyyyyyyyyy..."
Sad but still sort of funny.
:yay
Baskett is soft. I don't think he could break press coverage against Muggsy Bogues
Joe Mays, bitch!
I don't know which was more awesome to watch... Jackson & Demps ripping returns for touchdowns or Belichick having a temper tantrum afterwards.
:-D
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MtXkYBrJPU
Higher quality D Jax highlights.

I hate that bitch.
There were Patriots Boston "fans" in the bar giving us shtein about the Soul being the best team in Philly right before Demps reeled off his touchdown. They were wearing Red Sox jerseys and Patriots hats. No lie.
HATE.
Is anyone else having a hard time getting overly excited about the defense knowing Brady wasn't in?
defense w/ dawk is solid...no worries.
defense w/o dawk & w/ consadine starting... :paranoid
and is there any chance klecko makes the team? he seemed to be all over the field last night.
Well, judging from past history and what we've seen in preseason, I personally think they're going to give up at least two sustained point scoring drives during most games and they're likely going to allow at least 17 points per game. Not much more but not much less either. A tremendous offense might riddle this bunch, though, and yeah, that worries me a lot.
Klecko is and always has been a solid and unspectacular football player which is exactly what Reid loves. I'd say he makes the team.
I'd rather have his old man in his prime on the team.
REALLY?!?!
And by the way, I honestly don't know how you can live surrounded on all sides by Bostonians day in and day out. How in hell haven't you gone on a murderous rampage yet?
Good God those people are douchebags.
If I had gone on a murderous rampage it wouldn't be very smart of me to post about it on a public internet forum, now would it?
I'm thinking high ankle sprain for Dawk and 2-4 weeks...after hearing its not broken, I am preparing for a worse off case than normal.

Dawk is older than Mays looks...he's gonna take a long time rehabbing.
I showed my wife Jackson's highlights this morning and she said, "isn't that the little guy you were screaming about during the draft?"
Um, yep.
It's just preseason and I don't want to get all Extremeskins here, but goddamn it he's looked like the real deal. I especially like how much Donovan has looked his way.
He's only the 3rd WR that Donovan has had the opportunity to throw to that gets separation from defensive backs more often than not.

It's gotta be nice for a QB to know that his guy will get open, at least by a little bit.

None. I still catch myself smiling whenever they give him the ball. Still can't believe the Eagles finally got an athlete like him on the team. For years, we've watched them pass on guys just like this. Westbook or Jackson should touch the ball on every offensive play the Eagles run. EVERY ONE. If neither of them are open... take a sack.

Watching it again, it was a little annoying that Buckhalter couldn't give a little more on his downfield blocking to let Jackson get in for a TD. Even more so knowning that Backett fumbled it at the end of that drive.

You should be punched to the ground and kicked relentlessly for saying any player on the Eagles reminds you of Brett Favre.
Officially a "mild" tendon sprain in Dawk's ankle. Should be ready for the opener.

QuoteWe saw some guys making plays. That's the biggest part of our offense, is basically having the guys on the field making plays.

Sample prose:
QuoteWe shook hands. He walked back and I pulled out, watching inside the store as Jesus smiled and joked and helped the next customer to put crap into a bag to take home.
I smiled because Jesus Iowa was going to be young for a while yet. He was perhaps not going to be robbed of a future by bandits. Not today.
I moved slowly onto the highway, passed the "Support Our Troops" sign on the pharmacy, turned left in front of a Schwann's truck and piddled along home, slowly, thinking about Jesus Iowa and I guess lots of stuff.
My favorite part is this:
Quote"I stayed with them, in the mountains," said Jesus. "In the jungle. Mexicans. My people. Intellectual revolutionaries, taking up arms against injustice, making a difference.
"On the edge. Pushing the envelope. Writing for international publications, invited to speak in universities around the world, in between living in a tent, sleeping on hard-packed ground, being eaten alive by mosquitoes the size of a child's hand, eating beans and beans and more beans, killing and willing to be killed in order that poor people might live a better life.
::)
Bet he gets a lot of hippie chicks though.
Jesus was all about the killin'.
