Per Barkan on DNL he was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana
Was he in the hospital? Maybe he was low on energy.
unreal
He'll be part of the trade tomorrow for Larry Fitz.

Team Patterson says, "So what?"
Is he Andy Reid's illegitimate son?
We're talking pot, not oxycontin. So, no.
I thought they Eagles dont have guys like this WAIT WHO CARES ITS WEED.
Where was he busted? Was he pulled over and had it on him?
Whatever, its not a big deal really.
Details (http://cbs3.com/local/Mike.Patterson.Philadelphia.2.661023.html)
Sounds like he was smoking while driving around Evesham, crashed into some stuff, and kept smoking in his stopped car. His brother resisted arrest and had some outstanding warrants.
wow, that's some dumb shtein
:-D What a dumbass
Some other points.
- It happened last Saturday and is just leaking out now. The Eagles have known about it.
- First offense substance problems are supposed to remain confidential in the NFL, so if he's in the substance abuse program for a violation we don't know about, that would be an automatic 4-game suspension.
- Simple possession, under 50 grams.
does possession count in the leagues substance program, or just testing positive?
No, but he could be subjected to a suspension under the personal conduct policy too.
2 points
1. The NFL, nor anyone, should care about guys smoking weed. It's harmless.
2. The fact that Patterson knows he can't smoke, yet still does it, is incredibly moronic.
It's disgraceful. A first round pick, and the size of the new contract he received? And less than 50 grams?
Hahahahaa

A legal source said that in New Jersey, assuming Patterson has no prior criminal record, if he pleads guilty or is found guilty, he will get a "conditional discharge" - 6 months of loosely supervised probation, after which the conviction will be expunged. An agent who has handled clients in similar situations said the NFL likely will place Patterson into its drug-treatment program and will fine but not suspend him. A source close to the situation said it is Patterson's first offense. An NFL spokesman said last night that the league cannot comment on any player's status regarding drug-treatment guidelines.
What kind of fool would sit in his car after he wrecked it and keep toking?? He probably had plenty of time to get rid of the evidence.
It amazes me how stupid these guys are. College boys that have the common sense of a bee bee.
word son, keep it real

He was trying.
So i listened to WIP this morning, Hugh guesstimated that 85-90% of NFL players smoke weed. Ike came on and said its probably closer to 50% but thats still a very large #. Legalize IT
no. de-criminalize it
there's a diff
i think it should be put in gerber baby food
And then injected into me.
I prefer to have it sprayed

99.4% and i believe the proper term is negroids like metroid
If Reid's treatment of his own kids is any indication of how he deals with this kind of thing, Patterson should have the damage to his ride, and his legal fees, paid for by the team.

QuotePATTERSON DUCKS POT CHARGEPosted by Mike Florio on April 9, 2008, 9:04 a.m.
In February 2008, Eagles defensive tackle Mike Patterson was arrested for possession of marijuana. On April 3, a judge dismissed charges of driving while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
But Patterson was found guilty of "careless driving: likely to endanger a person.
The Eagles declined comment. The finding exposes Patterson to possible discipline under the league's Personal Conduct Policy.

I thought he was parked when they got him?
I think technically, if you are behind the steering wheel -- moving or not -- you can get busted for "driving" infractions.
That's how they get you when you happen to be passed out on the side of a road, sleeping in the driver's seat. BAM - DUI. If you need to recharge, you should always move to the passenger seat of back seat.
Uhh.. or so I've heard.. :paranoid
patterson better not dime on me.
fyi-Patterson took the rap because he knows the judge and knew he would be given a slap on the wrist.
Per GCobb:
QuoteThe fire dept was at the Nova Care Complex this morning putting out a fire in Mike Patterson's car.
Sucka left his roach burning.
