New England opens as a 20.5-point favorite at Baltimore

Did rjs write that? It seems quite miserably refreshing.
Bryant Gumbel:
Quote"Ooh, look Cris! The (looks down at paper) Pack-ers of... Green Bay? Really? Green Bay has a team? I thought Green Bay was just a paper mill town! Anyway, the Pack-ers have scored another touchgoal! That bearded fellow throwing the goatskin is quite adept!"
so i'm one of the suckers who just ordered the nfl network right before the game, along with everyone else in my city apparently. comcast is only charging 1.99/month for it, and i get about 10 total channels. if i went to the bar right now i'd spend at least $30, so it doesn't make sense not to.
Its free on NFL.com

exactly. i'm sure i'll keep it until the end of the season but whoever doesn't is an idiot.
you basically get 90% of the plays on nfl.com. sure its not as good as watching it on tv, but this game is quickly becoming uninteresting, so at least comcast didnt get anymore of my money.
so is Favre hurt?
edit:
PFT says yes.
QuoteFAVRE OUT
Packers quarterback Brett Favre has been knocked out of Thursday nights duel in Dallas with an injury to his right forearm. His return is questionable.
Aaron Rodgers is in the game in Favre's place. The Packers trail by the score of 27-10 with more than 9:30 to play in the second quarter.
Favre was injured when he was hit after a blitz.
yeah his elbow got rocked by someone's helmet while he was throwing.
greg jennings just had a sick catch and run.
collinsworth and bryant gumbel are the worst ever.
i smoked a huge bowl.

TD to jennings.
my over bet is looking nice.
i had the two fantasy pick ups of the year in anderson and jennings. i just need greg to save the sickness for next week, this week means nothing for me.

Cowboys win 37-27 and clinch a playoff spot. It also guarantees that the Eagles (and taterskins) cannot win the division.
and TO got popcorn

I think I'm the forst to admit it on this board. Last year, I laughed at Romo and all his liitle mistakes, on and off the field. This season, I'm left thinking "Goad-damned, this mutherfocker is good."
I think he may be the real deal, which is bad for us whether the Eagles continue with McNabb, move to Kolb, or stay with Feeley. Yep, bad.
that popcorn pic is awesome

I'm liking the odds for the Pats to go 16-0 and the Dolphins to go 0-16 in the same season.
I'm asking Santa right now to let the Dolphins win over the Patriots on the 23rd.
Travis Henry tore his PCL and flunked a drug test, yet somehow he's back out there against the Raiders today. I guess he hasn't missed any child support payments or written any bad checks in the Oakland area yet.
Some DB named Roderick Hood got a pick-six vs. the Browns.
He's finally playing and they're winning

49ers rookie linebacker Patrick Willis is playing ridiculous football. He has made 36 tackles in the last two games, and leads the league in the category.
The Ravens? Are you kidding me?
Motherfarger.
The last 3 minutes have been insane.
LMFAO @ Billick for calling a TO on what would have been a 4th down stop.
Jabar motherfargin Gaffney
Bart Scott just got flagged for 30 yards. 2 unsportsmanlike conduct penalties, one of which involved him throwing an officials flag into the stands. ha!
30 yards of penalties on the kickoff for throwing the flag into the stands :-D
With 40-something seconds left and a timeout, Bart Scott is a farging moron. All they need is three.
Babar didnt have control, bullshtein call
Scott clearly looking to get kicked out of the game.
Then Ed Reed gets offsides on the PAT so there's 35 yards worth of penalty yards getting added to the kickoff.
Kornheiser just went all Denny Green on the air.
Farging kickoff from the Ravens own 35 yard line. I can't stop laughing at that.
Typical. farg the Patriots.
That shtein was farging crazy!
HAIL MARY CAUGHT!!!!!!!!
and tackled at the 3
Bet Billick wishes he still had that time out. I would love to see his post game pc. Seriously. I think he'll finally go off the deep end and kill a reporter.

Uh, yeah.....guess that would have ended the game.
I'm dumb
The Ravens could have inserted the fatal dagger about a dozen times in the last minutes of that game. It was like watching an action hero impossibly escape death again and again. The Steelers defense is nasty, I hope they take out his knees like they did with Carson Palmer a couple years ago.

10.1 million watched Packers/Cowboys on a channel no one has. The cable record is around 17 million, so this thing would have been off the charts if it was on ESPN or broadcast.

The cable record was set during the Patriots/Ravens game, which became the highest-watched show in the history of cable TV, right?
yea they had 17.5 million.

Farging kickoff from the Ravens own 35 yard line. I can't stop laughing at that.
This ridiculous kick was also a rare coaching error on the part of Bill Belichick. He missed an easy opportunity to pin the Ravens as far back as their own 5 yard line.
The NFL rule on kicking the ball out of bounds on a kickoff states:
QuoteWhen a kickoff goes out of bounds between the goal lines without being touched by the receiving team, the ball belongs to the receivers 30 yards from the spot of the kick or at the out-of-bounds spot unless the ball went out-of-bounds the first time an onside kick was attempted.
In other words, if Gostkowski had blasted the ball out of bounds, the Ravens would have had the choice of taking over at the 5 yard line or wherever the ball went out of bounds. All Gostkowski would have had to do was make sure it goes out of bounds past the 20, and the Ravens would have been worse off than the blast through the back of the endzone.
