Again, why the farg are we paying Kimo and Reagor?  They can't get on the field with LaJuan Ramsey as the only backup?  Really?

But, hey, at least they freed a space up for Kearse :boom

True, it doesn't really matter, but, Christ....

Who else thinks this game plan was designed to humiliate Andy Reid?

They not only haven't run once on this drive, they haven't had a back in the backfield until 1st and goal.

And they're doing it well.  Unlike the Birds for the last 9 years.

At least Reed punished Welker for that 9 yard catch over the middle.

Spikes pratically watched that play happen in front of him on the sideline.

And before they wasted at TO, WTF is Heath Evans doing in the backfied?  What good is Maroney?
Title: Re: Boston Massacre - Game Night Thread

So did Madden until the refs called it against the Eagles.  Then he went on about how good Brady was at enticing offsides on the defense.

If I was allowed to false start, I'd be good, too.

i love Donovan, but really does seem like it's everybody but him that can run this offense effectively in the past 3 years

well him and Mike McMahon

yeah feeley is playing crazy right now.

tough decision now going into next week for QB. if feeley can play like this and mcnabb needs to time to recover then i say sit him.

im not one of those who thin mcnabb is somehow worse than feeley but that off the ACL he needs time.

the defense tonight seemed a lot more alive than it has in other games. still no Turnovers but it might be overlooked in the love fest for feeley now.

also gocong isnt horrible. no im not calling him a stud or a playmaker. just that he is not horrible. and b4 IGY chimes in saying "ohh is that what we come to expect now...just average?"....no im not saying i want average. its just that i expected him to be hot garbage and so far he isnt as big a liability as i believed he would be.

This is not to defend McNabb.  He's been bad most of the season.

But A.J. Feeley's the savior?  Tonight he may have had the best game of his career.  Yet he threw not one, but two terrible interceptions that basically cost the Eagles a chance to win:  one to give the Patriots a touchdown to open the game (and don't forget he nearly threw an identical interception on the last drive), and the one at the end to take away at least a chance to tie.

You want to take McNabb out?  Fine.  At this point, I'd rather see what Kolb has than to start Feeley in some idiotic hope that he's going to somehow "lead" the Eagles into the playoffs.

McNabb and Reid should both exit gracefully.  Sadly, it will be ugly, painful and extremely damaging to the organization.

Also - the second interception will go down as one of the worst plays in the history of this franchise.  I just rewatched it again and it was so unnecessary and stupid I still can't believe he threw it.

He made some bad throws no doubt, but the team rallied behind him the way they did Garcia last year. Plus he moved the offense and the team at least had a chance to win with him at QB. Lets not forget the Eagles had 3 pts. when McNabb went down last week then Feeley lead them to victory.

You're right. Stupid of me to forget that. He had a perfect passer rating. Besides that though, anyone who WATCHES the game and puts aside everything McNabb has done for us in the past, he simply isn't an accurate QB right now. All anyone needs to do is go back and look at the film. McNabb was high, low, wide, behind, etc on so many passes. Feeley can run a WCO. He can put balls right on the money between two defenders.

Forget the mobility too. You don't need mobility to be a great QB. In fact most of the best QBs ever weren't that mobile. They just know how to step away from a blitz, and have the accuracy to get balls in tight spaces and arm strength to go down field.

Most importantly, Feeley actually hits people in stride on posts, slants, etc.
Title: Re: Boston Massacre - Game Night Thread
Post by: MDS on November 25, 2007, 11:59:26 PM
another side note is that new england has zero home field advantage. their "fans" were terrible. if indy can get harrison back and healthy, they should be able to give them a game. especially considering manning is a tad better than feeley.
Title: Re: Boston Massacre - Game Night Thread
Post by: Eaglez on November 26, 2007, 12:02:14 AM
I was definitely impressed with Feeley's accuracy tonight.  But the offensive line just mauled the Patriots all night.  Feeley rarely had pressure in his face, and when he did he stood in the pocket and delivered a strike.

But it all is going to boil down to one play -- he threw that costly INT in the end zone when he didn't need to.  LJ was open underneath and they had plenty of time in great field position.  It was a boneheaded play and it will overshadow his whole night.  It is a shame, because the Eagles really could have carried that momentum.  I'm not sure how the team will take this loss, I'm sure it is demoralizing to be so close and not come out with the W.
Title: Re: Boston Massacre - Game Night Thread
Post by: The BIGSTUD on November 26, 2007, 12:05:07 AM
That one play was a DUMB play by Feeley, but it would be absolutely moronic to bench him right now because of that one throw right now. If McNabb comes back we all know this offense is going to be inconsistent, sporadic, and out of control all over again. Throwing balls all over the place, etc.
Title: Re: Boston Massacre - Game Night Thread
Post by: Rome on November 26, 2007, 12:09:36 AM
There's a lot of reasons why Feeley shouldn't have thrown that ball but the worst of them is that Brady would have gotten the ball back with over three minutes of clock left if they had scored right there.  That's way too much farging time for those guys, period.
Title: Re: Boston Massacre - Game Night Thread
Post by: The BIGSTUD on November 26, 2007, 12:11:24 AM
Andy has been terrible this year, but it is stupid to blame him tonight. Everyone bitches about the pass pass pass, but you see what happens when you actually have a QB that is accurate. Not only that, but that was clearly the best way to attack the Patriots tonight and it worked ALL night. The run was pretty much boom or bust. Westbrook for 1 yard, 1 yeard, 8 yards, etc. I had no problem passing there. It was just a dumb play by Feeley.

Overall terrific game plan by Andy tonight. If he coaches like that the rest of the season then we make the playoffs. No doubt.
Title: Re: Boston Massacre - Game Night Thread
Post by: SunMo on November 26, 2007, 12:12:25 AM
yeah, there was no need to go for the score there.  you can run the ball, throw screens, tight end underneath.  if you don't get a first down you can always kick the field goal and tie the game, hopefully with not much time left either way.
Title: Re: Boston Massacre - Game Night Thread
Post by: Eaglez on November 26, 2007, 12:13:53 AM
I think that exacerbates the boneheadedness.  The fact that he had so much time, was at the 20 yard line, and was moving the ball at will in the middle of the field and had LJ underneath in the middle just makes it that much worse.

This offense works best when Westbrook is the focal point.  The sooner McNabb realizes he is second fiddle to Westbrook, the sooner this team has a chance to be more consistent on offense.

Title: Re: Boston Massacre - Game Night Thread
Post by: The BIGSTUD on November 26, 2007, 12:17:53 AM
Westbrook is always the focal point. Even with McNabb in there, Westbrook touches the ball more than anyone in the league.

This offense works best when we have an accurate QB that can get the ball where only the receiver can get it, and make YAC with it. McNabb's accuracy has completely killed the rhythm of drives. There was never rhythm with McNabb this season. Go back to last season with Garcia, and the last game and a half with Feeley, this offense had a flow to it. Why? Because McNabb wasn't driving down to the 40 yard line and then throwing a laser 5 miles over Reggie Brown's head or skipping one into the dirt in front of Curtis.

This one hurts.  It sucks that Feeley is going to be the goat because he played so well, but he just got greedy on that deep throw.  He had all the room underneath, yeah well...
feely will not be blamed for this game....the fact that the coaches gave him the opportunity to throw that deep pass at the end was inexcusable...feely is a sdcrub that shouldnt ever be put in that position.....it was early in the posession they should have been picking apart the pats d short like they had all game or run westbrook...but instead andy shoves his own cock up his ass and trys to go for it all with a terrible back up qb...the sad and frustrating part of it is that andy called a very good game to that point...but he gagged like a motherfarger at the end

Feeley said the play wasn't designed to go there. He said he tried to throw it away and didn't get enough under it.

Seriously? Who the farg throws a lame ass pass like that into the farging endzone when they're trying to throw it away? That's what the god damn sidelines are for. I wasn't pissed about the end of the game until reading that. Now that's just retarded if that's seriously what he was trying to do. I'd rather he said there was a blown assignment on the play and someone was off... that would have at least made sense since he didn't even throw the ball AT Curtis but four yards away from him

Is no-one talking about the fact that we just completely wasted 2 timeouts in the second half??  We hang on to those and we get the ball back with about 2:00 left on the final drive.  Classic Andy Reid clock mismanagement

heads would talk about that if it was something new....but reid has been doing that shtein for almost ten years now....so we have to focus on the direct calls that cost them game rather than the stuff that happens earlier in the half or game

super bowl dejavu?  as good as we looked that really pissed me off.  ended up bitin' the birds in the ass in the end.

all in all it was farging awesome to watch.  i have to admit i thought this was going to be a blood bath.  i watched the first half at 24 hour fitness and everyone was cheering on the birds.  it was so cool.  people really hate the patriots.

yeah for all the "the eagles laid down the blueprint on how to beat the pats" talk, i think the pats are going to be better from here on. and how much did it really have to do with the pats being shocked by a backup QB who comes out of nowhere throwing the ball all over to greg lewis of all people? i mean yeah the eagles played well but it was not all them.

as for that feeley pass im not sure if he was trying to throw it away. he did not have pressure on him and LJ was wide open running across the field to whom he could have dumped the ball off.

what pissed me the most about last night was how ready and amped up the team was for the challenge, yet when they play mediocre to ok teams (like most of the season) they come out flat. i do not mean just offensively but like defense as well. defense has played decent most season but they seemed to have a little extra in them last night.

lito played really good last night.

I'm not going to bust Reid's balls for being aggressive with that Curtis pick.  Feeley has played in games before (albeit not all that well), he's got to know that wasn't there and go underneath.  It sure didn't help that he overthrew the ball, so Curtis couldn't even break it up.

Nothing wrong with being aggressive there.  Being aggressive was what got them close to winning.  Feeley needs to have his head caved in for not at least allowing Akers a chance to tie it.

There's a lot of reasons why Feeley shouldn't have thrown that ball but the worst of them is that Brady would have gotten the ball back with over three minutes of clock left if they had scored right there.  That's way too much farging time for those guys, period.

This.

well we all know about these problems but its shocking how little other nfl fans know.

a couple of ppl i know who are fans of other teams watched the game and afterwards said "man reid had some horrible clock management mistakes". then they commented how in the superbowl it was something similar. little do they know that its pretty much every week.

like everyone i was completely shocked that the birds were keeping up with them. the D played great for the most part. there were a few parts in the game i'd like to point out. that first feely pick, drag buck out back and shoot him. just totally pussed out and tried to block the easy way. nate cole...or whoever the fat farg was who gave the pats the ball back on that 4th and 3rd. Get a tractor and lift the farger out back and shoot him. shoot the fargin ref's also. the jabar gaffney TD before the half should of been reviewed. dock 14 points off the game for the first feely int and the jabar gaffney td...eagles win. But no, leave it up to the coaches once again to fail. wasted timeouts. 3 minutes left and driving and they are airing it out??!?! i was like, oh hell, here we go again. reid is a god damn moron. they had all the time in the world to take it down slowly and to seal the deal, but no, the fat farg can't wait to get in the endzone. who in their right mind would want to put the ball into tom brady's hands with under 3 minutes remaining???~??~?!!?! okay, enough with reid, that was to be expected for him to throw it away. on the other end, johnson is just as bad IMO. He blitzed all game, which was working every now and then. but they never really figured out the pats offense. if your going to show blitz all game long, and especially on 3rd down, expect the pats to throw a quick slant pass. i mean how many times a game did they do this? can we for once fake a god damn blitz try to pick off a throw???? that last drive was picture perfect by the pats. they did their job, the coach called the right plays and they won. on our end im not going to blame the game on the players. they played their ass' off and really layed it on the pats. hell ive never seen that look on the pats players faces. they looked scared. randy moss totally gave up. they made many mistakes. our coach just failed us again, plain and simple. when it come down to 3 minutes and given the chance to take the clock down and seal the deal, you try, you don't gamble, you play straight and don't give the other team any chance what so ever. aj feely should be commended for the job he did. you don't put your players in those positions. you put them in a position to win the game. they didn't. way to go reid and co. i'd rather them gotten destroyed by the pats than to watch them hand it over at the end. this is such a disgrace

The sad thing is, the Eagles and Reid are getting props for ALMOST beating the Pats. When in reality, Reids failure as a coach cost them the game once again. Gag me with a fargin chainsaw. I'm so sick of these iceholes running the team. The players have to be brainwashed. I'm fully convinced they are all brainwashed. Someone has to say something.

Just a higher percentage. Philly had more total viewers. As the #4 TV market in the US, Philly has an estimated (Nielsen 2006-07) 2.941mm total TV households of which 35.4% were tuned to the game for at least part of the event equaling 1,041,273 households.

The Boston market (#7) has 2.372mm TV households and while a greater percentage watched than in Philly, it only represents 936,952 TV households

The second number is "share" which means the percentage of TV's in use at a given time tuned to a particular station.
