So the Domowitch article got me thinking about the draft and I was wondering if any of you know of a site that actually lays out how many draft picks each team has, in which rounds they have them, etc.
I'll I can find are prospect lists and mock drafts for the first round...
From EMB, but I might be missing a few minor ones:

PATRIOTS FORFEITED (Belichick punishment)

CHARGERS to DOLPHINS (Chris Chambers)
3rd Round

RAVENS FORFEITED (Jared Gaither supplemental draft)

STEELERS to FALCONS (Allen Rossum)
RAIDERS to BRONCOS (Gerard Warren)
TITANS to SEAHAWKS (Bryce Fisher)
PATRIOTS to BEARS (Dante Wesley)
SEAHAWKS to JAGUARS (Alvin Pearman)
The Eagles should also get 3 or 4 compensatory picks for losing Stallworth, Hood, Michael Lewis, Garcia, etc.
Ah, I had forgotten about Garcia.
So the eagles have this:
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 5, 6, 7, plus potential Stallworth, Hood, Garcia, Lewis compensation (minus Curtis) in 2008.
And then an extra 6th rounder in 2009.
Thanks Ed.

i would love rivers jackson or baker....but jackson is my dream pick...not only will it fill two spots but wr is really weak this year and if you dont get one in the first round you really are taking your chances in getting an impact guy
Watching Westbrook's punt return on Sunday was an all-too-rare feeling.
The Eagles absolutely need an impact guy on returns. I'm on the DeSean Jackson bandwagon.

i would love rivers
I agree with the rest of your post but Rivers is a joke. He's one of the most overhyped players I have ever seen. People have acted as if he'll be a top 15 pick since his sophomore year. 3 career sacks. 4 FF. 2 interceptions. 15 TFL. In 48 games. Don't the Eagles have enough defensive players that don't produce shtein? farg Keith Rivers.
Quote from: rjs246 on December 05, 2007, 12:26:31 PM... potential Stallworth, Hood, Garcia, Lewis compensation (minus Curtis) in 2008.
I think think that package could be a net value of a couple of 4s and maybe a 5th as comp picks. When you add in the extra 5th they already have, that's not too shabby. That's up to four extra day 2 picks that will never see opening day.
I honestly want them to trade every one of their non-compensation fourth-round-or-later picks. I don't care what they get in return, I just can't handle another season of listening to the front office shteinheads try to sell everyone on the slow white safety they 'stole' in the 5th round.
no they need to keep as many picks as possible....this pp dept needs the largest margin for error they can get...what they need to do is change their philosophy and start taking athletic guys who may not have the "intangibles" to play in the nfl vs unathletic players who are good mormons....
if im gonna miss on a player i wanna miss on sinorice moss not sean considine...and even more than that if im gonna hit on a pick i wanna hit on the thru the roof guy...i wanna trent cole type not a victor abiamiri

I completely agree with you, except for the fact that this group of monkeys is NEVER going to change their philosophy. If they bring in new monkeys to do the scouting/drafting, then maybe I'll agree that they should keep the picks. Until then, I'd rather have them trade them for one or more NFL-tested players. Known commodities. I don't want them to go all Danny boy on the situation, but they obviously can't draft for shtein anymore...
except you arent getting an nfl starter type player for day two picks...id rather them have ten picks on day two and use a couple of them for players they wouldnt normally take...the less picks they have the less chances they will take
lets face it day two picks are suspect for any team for the eagles even more so
Randy Moss. I know it's a singular example, but players move teams for day two picks all the time.
special case and an exception to the rule...most of the time youre getting artis hicks
btw if randy moss had gone to almost any other team but the patriots wed be laughing at that trade....can you imagine him in philly this year....u-g-l-y
But he didn't go to any other team. I mean, isn't that the risk that is run for every trade? That it will fail or succeed?
Anyway, I see what you're saying but watching this team release 7 drafted players next year might make my brain explode.
wes welker cost a 2nd and a 7th
just sayin
Right. They traded three draft picks and got two starting caliber WRs. Will another team be able to pull that shtein off? Probably not, but the precedent is there. shtein, if the Eagles traded 3 picks for ONE top-end WR who came in and made a difference on offense I'd about shtein myself with glee and they'd still have 9 draft picks left to farg up.

Kevin Curtis cost nothing pick-wise and is a very similar, if not superior, player to Welker.
Curtis also has Reggie Brown and Jason Avant keeping opposing defenses honest, instead of Randy Moss and Donte Stallworth.

He can't. He's too important to the offense.

I'm just saying - you don't HAVE to trade away draft picks to get good players, if you're willing to pay for them.

you reachin dook
...and you brought up Welker, who cost a 2nd round pick (with a 7th rounder thrown in). So, that also has nothing to do with the discussion of trading 2nd day picks for players...
dook.
wow youre slow
i brought up the case of welker because he cost a 2nd and a 7th and isnt a great wr...meaning what kind of wr do you think you will get for a second day pick
You're slower. The answer is "Randy Moss".
so randy moss is the kind of receiver you get for second day draft picks?
or randy moss is an exception to the rule and a special case...seeing as tho he cost less to acquire than wes welker did

So how was the wedding you two?
todd mcshays first espn insider mock mock....
1. Miami Dolphins
Current record: 0-12
Scouts Inc.'s three biggest needs: OT, OG, DT
Projected pick: Glenn Dorsey, DT, LSU
One of the Dolphins' top priorities is to upgrade the talent level along the offensive and defensive lines with an injection of youth. Dorsey played most of the second half of the season with a minor knee injury and a back injury and was still the most disruptive defensive tackle in the country. He should be ready to contribute immediately in the NFL.
2. New England Patriots (from 3-9 San Francisco)
Current record: 12-0
Scouts Inc.'s three biggest needs: ILB, CB, OLB
Projected pick: Darren McFadden*, RB, Arkansas
This hardly seems fair. The league's best team lands the draft's top talent -- or strikes another lucrative draft-day deal for him. Both McFadden and Laurence Maroney split carries in college. A two-back rotation would make both last longer, not to mention the possibilities for an offense already overloaded with talent.
3. New York Jets
Current record: 3-9
Scouts Inc.'s three biggest needs: WR, NT, ILB
Projected pick: James Laurinaitis*, ILB, Ohio State
There simply is not a wide receiver to get excited about with the third overall pick and USC DT Sedrick Ellis is not a good fit as a two-gap NT in this scheme. McFadden should be the pick, if he falls to the Jets, but in this scenario, Laurinaitis makes the most sense. He would solidify the linebacker corps next to another young talent in David Harris (2nd round pick in '07). Michigan OT Jake Long is a possibility, as well.
4. Atlanta Falcons
Current record: 3-9
Scouts Inc.'s three biggest needs: QB, OL, DT
Projected pick: Brian Brohm, QB, Louisville
It almost makes too much sense. The Falcons, in desperate need of a franchise quarterback in the wake of the Michael Vick mess, use their first-round selection on a signal-caller who played for current Atlanta head coach Bobby Petrino at Louisville from 2004-06.
5. St. Louis Rams
Current record: 3-9
Scouts Inc.'s three biggest needs: OT, CB, DE
Projected pick: Jake Long, OT, Michigan
The season-ending injury to perennial Pro Bowl tackle Orlando Pace and the Rams' overall poor play along the offensive line this season make Long a real possibility with this pick. He is unquestionably the most dominant offensive-line prospect in the 2008 class.
6. Cincinnati Bengals
Current record: 4-8
Scouts Inc.'s three biggest needs: DT, LB, OT
Projected pick: Sedrick Ellis, DT, USC
It would be tough to pass on DE Chris Long, but the Bengals have a much bigger need for interior help. Ellis is a quick, tough and relentless defensive tackle. He has the potential to disrupt plays in the backfield while occupying blocks, which would make the Bengals' entire front-seven better.
7. Oakland Raiders
Current record: 4-8
Scouts Inc.'s three biggest needs: OL, WR, DL
Projected pick: Chris Long, DE, Virginia
Outside of McFadden, there isn't a player I value more in the 2008 class than Chris Long. He plays the game with rare passion and nearly flawless technique. In addition to controlling blockers as a 3-4 end in college, Long also disengages from blocks and makes big play after big play. The fact that he finished the regular season with 14 sacks playing in that scheme tells you all you need to know about his talent and motor. Raider Nation would certainly welcome another Long with open arms.
8. Kansas City Chiefs
Current record: 4-8
Scouts Inc.'s three biggest needs: OL, WR, CB
Projected pick: Ryan Clady*, OT, Boise State
Clady only makes sense here if Chiefs QB Brodie Croyle makes strides during the final few weeks of the season. If not, QB Matt Ryan would have to be a possibility with this pick. Clady is still improving his strength but he possesses impressive feet to go along with his enormous wingspan.
9. Baltimore Ravens
Current record: 4-8
Scouts Inc.'s three biggest needs: QB, CB, LB
Projected pick: Matt Ryan, QB, Boston College
Ryan is the top quarterback prospect in the 2008 class. In this scenario, the Ravens would send a thank-you letter to the Falcons and gladly take Ryan with the ninth overall selection.
10. New Orleans Saints
Current record: 5-7
Scouts Inc.'s three biggest needs: MLB, TE, DT
Projected pick: Keith Rivers, LB, USC
This is a bit high for Rivers, but the Saints need linebacker help and could fall in love with his leadership and tempo. Rivers could possibly play inside in the NFL, but his more natural fit is on the weakside. Regardless, he is a first-round talent with very good instincts, quickness and tackling skills.
11. Houston Texans
Current record: 5-7
Scouts Inc.'s three biggest needs: DB, OG, RB
Projected pick: Malcolm Jenkins*, DB, Ohio State
Jenkins spends most of his time in soft-zone coverage at both corner and safety at Ohio State. It's unlikely he will ever emerge as a shutdown man-to-man cover corner in the NFL, but Jenkins is a ball hawk with excellent size and straight-line speed. His versatility could help solidify the Texans' secondary.
12. Denver Broncos
Current record: 5-7
Scouts Inc.'s three biggest needs: OL, DT, S
Projected pick: Kenny Phillips*, S, Miami (Fla.)
Phillips had a substandard season, and it would say a lot about his character if he returns to Miami for his senior season and take on a leadership role. On the flip side, Phillips is likely to be the top safety selected if he bolts school early for the 2008 draft. Denver is aging at the position, making it one of Phillips' potential first-round landing spots. His speed and athleticism would be a good complement to the Broncos' existing group of comparatively slow-footed tough guys.
13. Carolina Panthers
Current record: 5-7
Scouts Inc.'s three biggest needs: QB, WR, DE
Projected pick: Andre Woodson, QB, Kentucky
Woodson has the size, arm strength and accuracy as a passer to develop into a good starter in the NFL. Some teams will be concerned about his occasional lapses in decision-making and lack of mobility. However, I would consider the Panthers fortunate if Woodson drops to them at No. 13 overall. In this scenario, Woodson would be the third and final quarterback off the board in the first round, leaving the Bears to adjust their plans quickly.
14. Chicago Bears
Current record: 5-7
Scouts Inc.'s three biggest needs: QB, OT, S
Projected pick: Mike Jenkins, DB, South Florida
If the team can't get one of the top three quarterbacks, it likely will look for help along the offensive line and at safety. Jenkins plays mostly corner at South Florida but he may be a better fit at free safety in the NFL. Regardless, Jenkins has excellent speed and ball skills for his size. He has shown much better discipline and technique as a senior, which is why he is shooting up many NFL draft boards.
15. Philadelphia Eagles
Current record: 5-7
Scouts Inc.'s three biggest needs: OT, S, WR
Projected pick: DeSean Jackson*, WR, Cal
Sam Baker would be a possibility, but will the Eagles really take another USC tackle considering Winston Justice's struggles thus far? From my vantage point, Jackson would be tough to pass on here if he leaves following a disappointing junior season at Cal. Sure, critics will attack Jackson for being lean and struggling to stay healthy. But none of his injuries project to have long-term ramifications. Plus, he's a better pure wide receiver than Ted Ginn Jr. (picked by Miami No. 10 overall in 2007) and Jackson is just as explosive in the return game.
16. Washington taterskins
Current record: 5-7
Scouts Inc.'s three biggest needs: WR, DE, S
Projected pick: Derrick Harvey*, DE, Florida
Harvey could use another season in Gainesville to improve his bulk and strength, but don't count on him returning. The 6-foot-4, 255-pound junior notched 17.5 sacks the past two seasons and will wow scouts with his speed and athleticism during workouts. Harvey could upgrade the taterskins' perimeter pass rush immediately.
17. Arizona Cardinals
Current record: 6-6
Scouts Inc.'s three biggest needs: OT, DT, RB
Projected pick: Sam Baker, OT, USC
Baker has the feet and balance of a future Pro Bowl left tackle. Unfortunately, he is neither aggressive nor strong enough to start in the NFL right now. Depending on how many come out, Arizona could have more to choose from with this pick -- at both the offensive and defensive tackle positions.
18. Buffalo Bills
Current record: 6-6
Scouts Inc.'s three biggest needs: TE, CB, OLB
Projected pick: Ali Highsmith, LB, LSU
Paul Posluszny, Buffalo's second-round pick in 2007, showed lots of promise prior to his season-ending injury. The Bills, however, could still use help at the position even if Posluszny returns to form. Cornerback and tight end are bigger needs, but Highsmith is rated higher than the next-best prospect at either position. Highsmith possesses the athleticism and speed to emerge as a playmaking starter in the NFL, but only if his bulk and recognition skills improve.
19. Minnesota Vikings
Current record: 6-6
Scouts Inc.'s three biggest needs: DE, S, C
Projected pick: Calais Campbell*, DE, Miami (Fla.)
Yes, it's true. The Vikings are really in the market for another first-round defensive end. Campbell is first-round material despite failing to live up to expectations in 2007. Sure, he could improve his stock to the top-10 range by returning to school and maximizing his talents as a senior. Though something tells me an athletic 6-7, 285-pound end with 4.7-speed and 17 sacks the past two seasons won't slip far -- even if he's not fully developed.
20. Detroit Lions
Current record: 6-6
Scouts Inc.'s three biggest needs: OT, CB, TE
Projected pick: Jeff Otah, OT, Pittsburgh
It looks like the Lions will be selecting outside of the top 10 for the first time since 2001. Now the trick is to find quality players this far down the line. Otah is a late-rising prospect from Nigeria with quick feet for such a massive frame. Otah will take some time to develop but he might be worth the wait.
21. Dallas Cowboys (from 7-5 Cleveland)
Current record: 11-1
Scouts Inc.'s three biggest needs: S, OT, WR
Projected pick: Limas Sweed, WR, Texas
Sweed is the most naturally gifted receiver in the 2008 class if healthy. Unfortunately, the homegrown product's senior season was cut short by a wrist injury. Although durability is a concern, some team could get a steal in the bottom-half of the first round if Sweed returns to form as expected. Owner Jerry Jones has never been one to shy away from risks.
22. Tennessee Titans
Current record: 7-5
Scouts Inc.'s three biggest needs: WR, DT, CB
Projected pick: Malcolm Kelly*, WR, Oklahoma
The Titans need to surround franchise quarterback Vince Young with better perimeter weapons. Young may be forced to befriend a Sooner if his former teammate, Sweed, is off the board. Kelly could use another season of polishing but word out of Norman is the 6-4, 220-pound glider will take his chances in the upcoming NFL draft.
23. San Diego Chargers
Current record: 7-5
Scouts Inc.'s three biggest needs: ILB, DL, RB
Projected pick: Rey Maualuga*, ILB, USC
Maualuga is finishing strong as a junior. He publicly stated he plans on returning to Southern California next fall, but Maualuga wouldn't be the first to renege on such a promise. A strong showing at the combine could catapult the 250-pound middle linebacker into the top-half of the first round.
24. Seattle Seahawks
Current record: 8-4
Scouts Inc.'s three biggest needs: OL, S, TE
Projected pick: Jonathan Stewart*, RB, Oregon
The Seahawks have some tough questions to ponder at the running back position in the upcoming offseason. Will Shaun Alexander return to form? Can Maurice Morris be the full-time load-carrier if not? Stewart has yet to indicate his intentions but it wouldn't be a bit surprising if he followed QB Dennis Dixon out of Eugene. Stewart has the versatility, power and burst to thrive in coach Mike Holmgren's system.
25. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Current record: 8-4
Scouts Inc.'s three biggest needs: OT, CB, OLB
Projected pick: Aqib Talib*, DB, Kansas
Talib is a versatile athlete with the size, toughness and ball skills to fit well in the Tampa 2. Who knows, maybe coach Jon Gruden would get him some time at wide receiver like Mark Mangino did at Kansas.
26. New York Giants
Current record: 8-4
Scouts Inc.'s three biggest needs: OLB, OT, DB
Projected pick: Dan Connor, LB, Penn State
Connor is a bit overrated, but the Giants would be getting a solid value on him at No. 26 overall. Connor moved inside to middle linebacker as a senior but it seems his better fit in the NFL will be at the Will (weakside linebacker) position.
27. Jacksonville Jaguars
Current record: 8-4
Scouts Inc.'s three biggest needs: WR, OLB, S
Projected pick: Vernon Gholston*, DE/OLB, Ohio State
This would have to be worst-case scenario for Gholston, who has 21.5 sacks the past two seasons, including eight in his last four outings. Gholston is a bit undersized but he is powerfully built with above-average speed. The Jaguars would jump at the opportunity to select the junior here, even if end is not a top priority.
28. Pittsburgh Steelers
Current record: 9-3
Scouts Inc.'s three biggest needs: OL, WR, S
Projected pick: Michael Oher*, OT, Mississippi
The Steelers should use this picks to upgrade their offensive line. Oher is reportedly on the fence in regards to staying in school or turning pro. Should he leave early, Oher has all the physical tools a team looks for in a potential starting left tackle. He comes with some baggage, though, and his technique still needs polishing.
29. Green Bay Packers
Current record: 10-2
Scouts Inc.'s three biggest needs: RB, S, OL
Projected pick: Felix Jones*, RB, Arkansas
Ryan Grant has been a nice story this season but the Packers can't count on him as its premier back moving forward. The verdict is still out on rookie Brandon Jackson, who has failed to meet expectations so far. A proven veteran would be ideal but Jones has proven capable of contributing as a complementary weapon. He brings world-class speed to the table as a runner, receiver and return specialist.
30. San Francisco 49ers (from 10-2 Indianapolis)
Current record: 3-9
Scouts Inc.'s three biggest needs: WR, OL, S
Projected pick: Early Doucet, WR, LSU
Obviously, the 49ers would like to have that No. 2 pick back from the Patriots, but they'll have to make due with the 30th pick. Doucet has been bothered by a nagging groin injury, which prevented him from emerging as a reliable No. 1 weapon at LSU this fall. But a couple fast 40 times and a big week at the Senior Bowl could help affirm his big-play potential for NFL decision-makers.
31. Dallas Cowboys
Current record: 11-1
Scouts Inc.'s three biggest needs: S, OT, WR
Projected pick: Gosder Cherilus, OT, Boston College
The Cowboys can use this pick to bolster their offensive line depth after selecting a wide receiver (Sweed) earlier in the round. Cherilus has struggled in his first year on the left side and in a new system. A team patient enough to rebuild his confidence -- which probably includes moving him back to ROT -- could reap the rewards.
I think Jackson will be off the board by the time the Eagles pick. Dammit.
BTW, that Highsmith kid at LSU is all over the field.
its december
you have no idea where jackson is gonna be picked
none of us really do
in fact you had no idea who jackson was two weeks ago
so just stop it
By April, you won't even want Jackson anymore.

I wonder if the obvious overreach on Tedd Ginn by Miami will make this Jackson kid fall down the board?
Ginn hasn't done sheet, but then he wasn't much of a recieved in colleg either, right?
Ginn wasn't going to turn out as a good WR this year but has done okay given the circumstances. Has around 400 yards and has been a really good returner.

Yeah, Rivers sure isn't overrated.
Gholston had 8 total sacks vs PSU, Michigan and Wisconsin, by far the best teams on OSU's schedule. I really have no idea how you could possibly think he's overrated.
Thanks to the 49ers' late surge, the Patriots have fallen to #8. whew

Ryan Clady (Boise State OT)
Erin Henderson (Maryland OLB, brother of E.J.)
Jamaal Charles (Texas RB)
Erin is a girl's name.
Yep. Take a wild guess which one of his parents runs the show at home.
A bunch of juniors that could declare are on FOX right now in the Fiesta Bowl:
Steve Slaton (West Virginia RB #10)
Malcolm Kelly (Oklahoma WR #4) -- has been chosen for the Eagles in a few mocks
Reggie Smith (Oklahoma CB #3)
Phil Loadholt (Oklahoma OT #79)
Duke Robinson (Oklahoma OG #72)
Curtis Lofton (Oklahoma LB #40)
Steve Slaton really leveled off, and I think he's a loser from Levittown anyway.
what a LOSER he is....
For those that wanted a DE in round 1, Calais Campbell (Miami) and Derrick Harvey (Florida) declared today
WRs that declared:
James Hardy (Indiana)
Davonne Bess (Hawaii)
Devin Thomas (Michigan State)
Mario Manningham is staying at Michigan for his senior year
Illinois RB Rashard Mendenhall declared for the draft too
6'7 255 TE Martellus Bennett from Texas A&M declared for the draft. Get?

Ray Rice is in
Steve Slaton is likely out
Update: more names from today
Jack Ikegwuonu (Wisconsin DB)
Ryan Grice-Mullen (Hawaii WR)
Pat Sims (Auburn DT)
Jerod Mayo (Tennessee LB)
A player that would have helped the Eagles, Malcolm Jenkins (Ohio State CB), is going back to school for his senior year.
Meanwhile, McFadden and Jonathan Stewart both declared, so this will be a great draft for RBs
Gholston declared too, for those that want a DE
Great moments in sports analysis:
"What a terrible start for the Packers!"
I don't see any reason why Reid should not trade up to get Early Doucet (http://www.lsusports.net/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=27812&SPID=2164&DB_OEM_ID=5200&ATCLID=174939&Q_SEASON=2007) Tall and fast, has made some great catches for a real good team. Highlight reel stuff. I want him in green.

More importantly he is an explosive return man.
Doucet isn't a top 15 pick
Steve Slaton and Justin King will enter the draft
Justin King is wildly overrated, but the Nitts will miss him.
Is Hardy from Indiana coming out? He is a guy I would love to see Philly get. King is a solid player, I don't think he is ready for the NFL yet though. His speed is what will make him go higher than he probably should.
yea he declared
Felix Jones declared. It seems like a guarantee that Jerry Jones will take him...

Haven't looked at many mocks yet, but from the ones I've seen we'd be lucky if he dropped that far.
I'm no draft guru, but I like what I see from him. He's everything that every receiver the Eagles have isn't.
I've seen a lot of mocks that have us picking Desean Jackson (http://www.fftoolbox.com/nfl_draft/profile_display.cfm?Prospect_ID=1220).
Great speed, but not the big receiver I'm hoping for, and he was hurt a lot in college. He draws a lot of comparison to Ted Ginn Jr., who I like last year. If he could stay healthy, he would be a great return guy and could be a field stretcher.
Michael Oher's not leaving anymore.

Deep draft for RBs (http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/20080118_Paul_Domowitch__Running_backs_abound_in_this_draft.html)
QuotePaul Domowitch: Running backs abound in this draft
by Paul Domowitch
Philadelphia Daily News
THE NFL will release the list of underclassmen who will be eligible for the April draft tomorrow. There are expected to be about 50 players on the early-entry list, including as many as 15 potential first-rounders.
Last year, 13 juniors were taken in the first round, eight in the first 17 selections.
No position is getting a bigger boost from the infusion of underclassmen this year than running back.
"Running back just went from the first floor to the penthouse as far as quality," one NFC player-personnel man said.
"The juniors have made the running back position the best position in the draft," a scout for an AFC team said. "Until now, it was one of the worst."
As many as 10 running backs could go in the first two rounds of the draft, including eight underclassmen. Topping the list is Arkansas junior Darren McFadden, who could be the first player taken.
Three other juniors who have been pegged as likely first-rounders by scouts are Oregon's Jonathan Stewart, Illinois' Rashard Mendenhall and McFadden's backup at Arkansas, Felix Jones.
The only senior running back who figures to go in the first round is Chris Johnson, of East Carolina. Just one other senior, Mike Hart, of Michigan, is projected as a second-rounder.
But four other juniors - Ray Rice, of Rutgers; Conwell-Egan product Steve Slaton, of West Virginia; Jamaal Charles, of Texas; and Kevin Smith, of Central Florida - are projected as second-rounders at this point.
Another position getting a big boost from the early entries is wide receiver. As many as eight junior wideouts could go in the first two rounds, including three in the first – Malcolm Kelly, of Oklahoma; Mario Manningham, of Michigan; and Devin Thomas, of Michigan State.
"Thomas is kind of a 1-year wonder," a scout said. "But the more you watch him [on tape], he may be the most talented kid on the whole offensive side of the draft."
"This is one of the deepest junior classes I've seen," said the NFC personnel man.
"You're talking nine [junior] running backs who could be first-, second- or third-round picks. And all of those wide receivers.
"What it's done is taken the two positions in this draft that were totally bereft of talent and replenished them."
I can't remember the last time there was this much talent at RB coming out. I like it when drafts are deep at one position cause teams will reach and other players will drop because that position is hogging up the picks.
It'll be interesting to see a couple of things based on that-- who in a position of need (not RB) might drop to the Eagles because of the newfound RB glut, and which big name RB drops because of the volume.
QuoteConwell-Egan product Steve Slaton, of West Virginia
I still cant believe any NFL product came out my high school (actually it was Egan just before they merged)....and I still grin when I see that school name. Seriously, football was the biggest joke there for some very very long years.

Dan Koppen went to my high school (was a year or two behind me), so I get to hear/read about him every time Im in the area, lately. I swear, on the front page of the local paper's sports section, there was an article about how he plays Backgammon with Brady on a regular basis. Oh, and the pranks they pull. What a stitch.

(New England forfeits their 1st-round pick)
BLACK BOLD means the spot is locked in
i had forgotten dallas had 2 first round picks.
how did the pats get that #1 pick from san fran again?
Last year NE had two first rounders. They traded pick 21 (I think) to SF for this year's 1st rounder and a 4th round pick or something like that. SF took Joe Staley.
For mocks, should I include first names, schools and positions, or are last names enough? Not sure if everyone here is familiar with the usual names or not...
you are a truly democratic poster easy.

Interesting read back in the day with Mel Kiper before the draft--when LT was just a noob and Freddie Mitchell was the second coming

See? He was pretty fast after all.
Atlanta won the coin toss vs Oakland, so they'll pick #3, Oakland gets #4 and KC gets #5
If this wasnt posted last year, FWIW an interesting read that breaks down the history (up to 2003) of 1st rd busts and maybe what we can at least "possibly" expect of some of the picks.

Return specialist. Hell yes.
darren mcfadden just ran a 4.27 :o
that was supposedly his unofficial, where his official was 4.33...but whatever..no matter
At 4.27-- Appalachian State WR Dexter Jackson posted the fastest time among WR's
At 4.24--East Carolina scatback/returner Chris Johnson had the fastest official time among running backs.
NflDraftScout.com's Howard Balzer reports there are "serious concerns" over the long-term effects of a stress fracture Glenn Dorsey suffered in 2006.
The stress fracture was in his right tibia. After taking a physical Saturday, Dorsey was sent to the hospital for additional tests. Dorsey is not working out at the Combine due to a death in the family, but the tibia issue is reportedly now a "red flag" for some NFL teams. Michigan DT Alan Branch dropped to the second round of last year's draft due to similar concerns.
A more relevant and reliable alternative to the Wonderlic Test
By MJD
Monday, Feb 25, 2008 8:00 am EST
The Wonderlic Test will be administered to all participants at the NFL Combine this week, and is designed to measure their intelligence.
Many people, myself among them, question the relevance of this test to NFL aptitude. I don't mean to imply that football players are dumb, but let's face it, a high level of intelligence is not required to shove the man standing across from you.
With that in mind, I've created an exam that I feel would be a far better indicator of how a player will perform and behave in the National Football League. That exam follows below. A time limit of 14 hours is suggested.
1. Circle the endzones:
2. Pacman Jones:
A) is a guy who knows how to party.
B) understands good nutrition.
C) could probably introduce me to some nice girls.
D) is someone with whom you should never even make eye contact, unless, God forbid, you need to find a good lawyer.
3. When you line up across from an opposing player and he insults your mother, the appropriate response is to:
A) cry, calmly explain to the man that your mother is a nice person who volunteers at the local soup kitchen, and alert an official that an opposing player is using adult language.
B) wait for him by his car after the game and kill him.
C) Run immediately to the sidelines, call you mother, and tell her that you love her.
D) ignore it, go about the business of winning, and if you get a moment when the official isn't looking, do something violent to his genitalia.
4. Performance enhancing drugs:
A) are my ticket to the Hall of Fame.
B) would be better if they tasted like fruit and were shaped like various Flintstones characters.
C) are not for me, because I find that cocaine aids my performance much more effectively.
D) apparently worked for Rodney Harrison.
5. If you have the football and are running towards the endzone while a defender is chasing you from behind, you should:
A) run fast.
B) walk leisurely.
C) lateral the ball to an offensive linemen, because they don't get to score very often.
D) run out of bounds in order to save some energy for the next play.
6. If a teammate told you he was gay, you would:
A) assume he wanted to have sex with you, and start babbling something about the showers.
B) kill him, but not kiss him first like that weird neighbor guy in American Beauty.
C) call Tony Dungy and tell him that you know someone who needs an intervention.
D) understand that he probably could use your support, and maybe, just maybe, explore an exciting new lifestyle for yourself.
7. Driving drunk:
A) is fun and challenging.
B) is perfectly acceptable if you're a Cincinnati Bengal.
C) doesn't count if you've only been drinking beer.
D) is exceedingly dumb, especially for someone who has as much money as you're about to have.
8. In the NFL, how many of your feet need to touch the ground in bounds while you are in possession of the football in order for the catch to be valid?
A) One.
B) Two.
C) Two feet, but if I have a chance to get my third leg involved, I will (that's right, ladies).
D) I have no idea what the word "valid" means.
9. Strippers are:
A) not really people.
B) trying to pay their way through college and in need of your help.
C) good wife material.
D) a reasonable alternative to sexual assault.
10. The man pictured below is:
A) white.
B) going to destroy any more Spygate evidence he gets and then tell the public, "Oh, it was nothing."
C) not going to be amused when I go to a strip club the night before I'm supposed to meet with him because I keep getting in trouble in strip clubs.
D) NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.
E) all of the above.
(10 more questions follow after clicking the link below.)
11. If an opponent has the ball, and you are standing between him and the endzone, you should:
A) tackle him.
B) drop a banana peel in his path.
C) try to talk him out of running into the endzone, but if he seems really adamant about it, encourage him to follow his heart, because there's no need for things to get violent.
D) begin digging a moat, and then building a large brick wall at the goal line, because in the long run, that will be more effective at keeping people out of the endzone than just 11 guys running around.
12. When you're sad, you should:
A) punch the nearest woman.
B) smoke a whole bag of weed, preferably in a moving car or an airport.
C) try one of those "cry for help" fake suicide attempts, which will get you a lot of attention and probably some sympathy sex from your publicist.
D) understand that it's never, ever, going to get better as long as you're an Oakland Raider.
13. When signing your first contract, you should:
A) call an ex-rapper and ask him if he'd like to be your agent.
B) use the really nice crayons.
C) make sure you're getting at least as much money as you did at USC.
D) try to avoid a contract holdout, unless you want to back up Derek Anderson for the next 4 years.
14. The ideal pregame meal is:
A) whatever the team's staff provides for me to eat.
B) scrambled eggs and PCP.
C) 75 twinkies.
D) one of everything from the Taco Bell menu, with extra hot sauce.
15. True or False: If Emmitt Smith can get a job as an ESPN commentator, then there's no reason that you shouldn't be able to find some kind of gainful employment when your career is over.
16. True or False: When you "make it rain" in a strip club by throwing money at strippers, it is perfectly reasonable to ask for that money back, because strippers are known for giving money back to customers.
17. True or False: If a train leaves Omaha traveling at 50 miles per hour, and travels east for six hours into a 30 mph headwind, Michael Vick is still a jackass.
18. True or False: The majority of your practice time should be spent practicing endzone celebrations, because there's nothing an NFL coach appreciates more than the art of dance.
19. True or False: If Matt Millen tells you that you're an excellent football player, it should be taken as a great compliment because he has a very keen eye for these things.
20. Essay:
Just write a complete sentence. If you can't do that, just write down a word. Or your name. Try to spell it right. If that's too much, draw a picture of something. Or don't. Honestly, if you do anything other than chew on this portion of the paper, you're going to be fine.

what exactly is an illegitimate kid...like a robot kid or a blow up kid?
Didn't McNabb score like a 13 on the Wonderlic? I'm not going to hold anyone else to being a genius if the quarterback isn't one.
the wonderlic is just above VORP on the list of important sports numbers
So, it's really really important?
It's always a good idea to draft players who are as dumb as a wagon load of shtein.
Conversely, it's also a stellar idea to draft "character" guys with low athletic ceilings and high Wonderlic scores.
id rather draft guys who know football as opposed to not knowing whether a tomato is a fruit or a vegetable
joe montana is one of the dumbest jocks ever but he could read a defense like no other
Nothing says "dumb" like graduating from Notre Dame.

thats my point...id rather have a football smart guy than a book smart guy
there is absolutely no correlation btwn doing well on the wonderlic and doing well on the football field
Sean Taylor scored a 10, as did Vince Wilfork.
Kellen Winslow II scored a 12.
QuoteThe average score for an NFL prospect is 19. The average score overall -- hundreds of corporations use the Wonderlic -- is 21. Last year Iowa State running back Darren Davis reportedly scored a 4. Now, of course, he's in Congress.
Teams aren't supposed to release the scores, but they're usually leaked anyway. Among quarterbacks Brian Griese is said to have scored a 39, Drew Bledsoe 37, Steve Young 33, John Elway 30, Troy Aikman 29, Cade McNown 28, Mark Brunell 22, Tim Couch 22, Trent Dilfer 22, Brett Favre 22, Daunte Culpepper 21, Vinny Testaverde 18, Dan Marino 16, Randall Cunningham 15 and Jeff George 10. Kicker Sebastian Janikowski reportedly got a 9, though he offered $500 to the test proctor to give him a 10. (Kidding.) This year Florida quarterback Jesse Palmer is said to have scored a 32, and TCU star running back LaDainian Tomlinson only had a 13. Anytime your Wonderlic approaches your cleat size, it's not good.
Apparently, Joe Montana's is hard to come by, but apparently he scored in Marino range.
Stupid players are preferable to smart ones. Got it.

Kevin Curtis scored a 48.

Sweet Bejeebuzz, imagine what LT could do with a 42 wonderlic!! It wouldn't even be safe for the average fan.
It'd be a frightening, avert-your-eyes-to-avoid-being-injured while still beholding such a resplendant beneficence . At least for the average viewer.
Not sure if any of you draft geeks would have a use for this, but here (http://www.mediafire.com/?dcnxnxwj5yx) is a excel spreadhseet that allows picks to be sorted by round, team, how they were aquired, etc. Found this in Mike Sando's blog.

I hope this pushes him into the second round where the Eagles can snatch him up.
goeagles99 from the EMB told me that 40 time definitely knocked him out of the first round. Tommy's usually accurate as hell on those tips, He thinks the Eagles could get him anywhere from 30-35 if they decide to trade up to get him if they can get one of the teams in that range to take Lito.

Chad Johnson ran a 4.58 out of school. For reference, he's as much quicker as Kelly as Munson is quicker than Chad Johnson.
Further proof that 40 times mean absolutely jack shtein.
The 10 yard dash means so much more.
Put those Romes in full gear and then have them run it.
I think 40 times can tell you a little, but speed is nothing without the ability to change direction, and make people miss. I think good peripheral vision is almost as important as speed.
Agree with Phreak, the 10 yard dash is where it's at. When it comes to WR's, that's the most important part...you beat the corner within the first 3 steps of your route.
Plus the 40 can really change by a tenth of a second or more on a day to day basis. Chad Johnson is much faster then a 4.58

I ran a 4.26 10 just last week.

Actually the local combine is where I got that time. The only school that talked to me was Wesley, and it was nothing big. Just asked me what school I played for and if I was looking to play in college. I was actually considering going to Wesley to make the team but I'm glad I didn't...a few kids from my graduating class went there to play and they say its impossible to get playing time cause the team is like 80 kids deep. But that explains why they contend a lot of years in DIII...And DelTech is about 328524054 dollars cheaper.
a 4.26 10? Demon, you're as good as drafted sir.
Please stop.

QuoteEmmitt Smith's 2008 Mock Draft
Last update: Monday, Febtober 21, 2006.
Next update: When I feels like it!
Emmitt Smith is upset. ESPN has made a ridiculous decision to leave the best football analyst to ever grace our television sets off draft duty. To compensate, Emmitt has compiled his own 2008 NFL Mock Draft.
As a reminder, Emmitt is the best, and I seriously would never watch Sunday NFL Countdown if they booted him off the show. I'm just having some fun at his expense here; his inability to speak English while simultaneously maintaining a job where that's the only requirement is an awesome achievement that hasn't gone unnoticed.
At any rate, this is what a 2008 NFL Mock Draft would look like if Emmitt Smith created one. If you haven't read the Emmitt Smith Anthology, do so now, so you can understand how much of a comedic genius Emmitt really is.
"I make my own mock draft. Please read these doggone pick!"
1. Miami Dolphins: Matt Ryan, QB, Boston College University
In the 2007 regular season, the Miami Dolphin became the first winless team to ever win a game in a regular season. Why did this happen, you ask? No talent in and around the locker room. You have Clyde Lemon at quarterback. You have Ronnie Brown at running back. He had been banged up. And you have Chris Chambers at receiver. He was sent sailin to San Francisco, or the Windy City, so to speak.
But Miami have a new sheriff in town. Parcells, or as some people like to call him, "The Big Dolphin." If you look at Parcells' history, he likes to grab quarterback with the first overall pick. He draft Drew Bledsoe in New England. He draft Vinny Testaverde with the New York. And now he will draft Matt Ryan from Boston College University.
2. St. Louis Rams: Jake Long, OT, Michigan
The Rams have not played confident football in three weeks... or three years, to be more precise. But the Rams are very close to winning the NFC W... South. All they need to do is find themselves a big ol' offensive tackle who make big open holes for their running back Steven Johnson. Los Angeles... they give up, or they had given up 48 sacks on the year each week. That is why Marc Bulger is spendin too much time gettin roughed up in the behind.
3. Atlanta Falcons: Darren McDaniels, RB, Arkansas
The Falcons has no runnin' game. Period. That is why the team need to draft the runnin' back from Arkansas, Darren McDaniels. I have no need nor reason to explain these. Warrick Dunn used to be good but now he is over the hill, or the mountain, so to speak. Atlanta have Jarrett Norwood as a backup but he didn't score many points on my fantasy squad. So he is a bust. A strong runner like McDaniels who can run up the middle of the big ol' offensive line is exactly what Portland need to make their team as stronger as possible.
4. Oakland Raiders: DeSean Jackson, WR, California
Oakland just do not have anyone who can catch the doggone football. Al David just have to face the reality - Jerry Porter just do not draw the double team. JaMarcus Russells need a big-time receiver so he can win some games and put Oakland back on the globe.
5. Kansas City Chiefs: Tim Tebow, QB, Florida
I had to get some help for this No. 6 overall draft pick so I look through the wide world web for answers. It turns out that not one mock draft from 2008 have Tim Tebow, the great quarterback from Florida, going. Have not many people heard of this? Tim Tebow is a great player: He can run. And he can throw.
This pick make a lot of sense because Trent Green is startin' to get a little gray in his moustache, while Larry Johnson is gettin' really big in the tooth, so to speak. Tom Tebow can take both of their places in the starting lineup.
6. New York Jets: Ryan Clandy, OT, Boise State
The New York Jet need help really bad. And that is a big misunderstatement. After all, the Jets can only be disrespected by every team in their league and in the AFC East. In their conference, they have the New England Patriots, who are good. They have the Buffalo Bills, who obviously gone 11-5 in 2007 last year. They have the Indianapolis Colts who won the World Series in 2005. And they have the Miami Dolphin, who just hired Parcells to be their coach. So the New York Jets have their back against the fence.
7. New England Patriots: Rashard Mendenhall, RB, Illinois
The Patriots... they are an all-around good ball club. Their running back... Laurence M... M... Malone have been banged-up ever since he became a running back for the New England Patriots. New England have to draft a running back to run up the middle of that big ol' offensive line to score even more points so they can win Super Bowl XLIII this year and next year.
8. Baltimore Ravens: Matt Ryan, QB, Boston College University
Now that Brian Billick have finally gone into retirement, the Baltimore Ravens can finally start getting bettered on offense. Last year, they averaged 17.2 points per game every week on the season. An offense can only get more debacled from that point on. Now, if you look at the Baltimore roster you can see that they only have Kyle Billick and Troy Walters as their quarterback. If they keep them, San Diego can not improve on their 17.2 average, which was good for 24th in their division last year.
9. Atlanta Falcons: Brian Bomb, QB, Louisville
Cincinnati have to trade this pick for a first-rounder in the year 2017. Carson Palmer, Rudi Jackson, Chad J... J... Gordon and T.J. Houshmandzadeh are all very young ball players. They will not get old for a very long time. So, they give this pick to the Atlanta Falcons who need a quarterback who can throw the balls. Brian Bomb is a quarterback from Louisiana who can throw the balls very good. So why doesn't... don't Atlanta draft him with the ninth pick in the 2007 NFL Draft? It just make too many sense. Only then can the Bengals start gettin everybody's numbers back to where it belong in the first place.
10. New Orleans Saints: Branden Albert, G, Virginia
Reggie Bush obviously need more help. Right now, he has... have... ha... have to carry the entire team on his neck... or his arms, so to speak. The Saints has to add a big ol' offensive lineman who can help Reggie run up the middle of that big ol' offensive line hard. With a strong runnin' game, the Saints will have a tough chance to make the playoff for the first times since the town got hit by that tornado a couple year back.
11. Buffalo Bills: Malcolm Kelly, WR, Oklahoma
The Buffalo Bills obviously finish the 2007 season with a 5-11 record on the year for a number of reason. They did not have help at the wide receiver position... and... a lot of other things. Now, you look at this draft, and the Bill can draft a big ol' wide receiver who can come across the middle of the football field and catch passes from the quarterback John Edwards. Believe me, I beat the Bill three times in the Super Bowl during my illuvrious career, so I know what they need. Jim Kelly have no help and Ivan Lee just do not draw the double team.
Quote12. Denver Broncos: Jonathan Stewart, RB, Oregon
It is no secret that Mike Shannons have a big knock of finding runnin' backs late in the draft every single draft. But the tide is movin. It has become emmittent for the long Denver Broncos head coach to find himself a solid runnin' back who can punish the defense with his will and his hunger and his strong. I will admit that I do not know much about Jon Stewart but I believe he will be a great player in the National Football Conference for a very long times.
13. Carolina Panthers: Chris Leak, QB, Florida
Carolina have no talent at the quarterback position and that is why they keep gettin' blowed out! Not at all. When you look at the team, you look at David Carr, who obviously have become the late bust after being picked first in the 2005 Draft a few years ago. You also look at Mark Moore, who obviously have no skills. And you also look at Vinny Testaverde who may retire this summer. So, Carolina have to draft Chris Leak from my alma matter. If Leak go in this choice, Florida will be the first school to ever have two quarterback drafted in the first 15 picks for uhh... a couple of months.
14. Chicago Bears: Jeff Otah, OT, Pittsburgh
When you look at the Bears defense, the Bears has lots of good players on that defense. The reason why the Bears did not go to the Super Bowl for the third time in the past two years is because the Bears offense... the Bears offense do not has any good players on that offense. The Bears offense need to get good players on that offense to be a high-scoring offense so that the offense can score more points and get back to the Doggone Playoff.
What need to be fixed? Well, you come to the right place. Rick Grossman is the main reason the Bears were... devastationed... in the Super Bowl when they went last season. Kyle Orton is not the answer in the long haul either. Chad Henne is better than both of them combined right now. Henne have an ugly mug too, so he will not date hot broads like Jessica Sampson or Kelly Underwear.
15. Detroit Lions: Chancellor Washington, RB, USC
Matt Miller have done a terrible job with the Detroit Lion. It is stupid to draft so many wide receivers with you first pick. If they make me the general managing of the Detroit Lion, I promise to draft a big ol' runnin' back with speed ever year. Why? Every team that has won, or that have won the Super Bowl in the last 20 years have good runnin' backs. The Indianapolis Colts have Edgerrin James. The Denver Broncos they have Terrell David. And... uhh... others too.
16. Arizona Cardinals: Jamaal Charles, RB, Texas
Edgerrin James or as some people like to call him, the Ed, have been playing in the National Football Conference for a very long times. He become a rookie in 1989, which is about eight or nine years ago. Arizona need a great running back for the first time since they sign your truly a couple of months ago, or a couple of seasons ago, to be more precise.
Now, the question have to be asked, is the Ed a Hall of Fame runnin' back? My opinions on this matter have to do with championships. If you win a championships, or two championship, or three championship or even five championship, you deserve to be in the Doggone Halls. If not, you need to unretire and try again. It is the only option.
17. Minnesota Vikings: Chilo Rachal, G, USC
I have no doubt in my minds that Adrian Peterson is the second coming of one Emmitt Smith. He have speed - once he get onto the open field, nobody can caught him. He have agility - agility is the same thing as speed but different spellings. And most important, he have strong - no one in the conference right now can match his will and his determining. The difference between Peters and I is he do not have the same offensive line I has when I played across the Texas line. I had Larry Allen. Peters do not has anybody.
18. Houston Texans: Dustin Keller, TE, Purdue
The Houston Texas has been an expansive team for far way too long. It is time to get the balls rollin', as they say. Ever since the Texas joined the NFL, or as some people like to call it, the National Football League Conference, they has never been able to beat the mighty Indianapolis Colts ever since joinin the league two or three years ago. Plus, you have the Jacksonville Jaguars who are good. And the Tennessee have Vince Young, who is good... and young. The Texas have to grab that quarterback who can throw the ball good and win the football games.
19. Philadelphia Eagles: James Hardy, WR, Indiana
The reason Donovan McNabb have great arm strength is the fact that his arm is so strong. But it might as well not even matters because his receivers cannot catch a fly with their Chinese toothpick.
20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Emmitt Smith IV, RB, Florida
Jon Grudens love to take the sons of former NFL players. He should draft my son, Emmitt IV. Emmitt IV is only five or six years old, and he already can carry the football in both hands - his right hand and his... uhh... other hand. Emmitt IV is a little young in the tooth, but he can be a great runnin' back in the year 2017.
21. Washington taterskins: William Franklin, WR, Missouri
Now we begin to talk about the Washington taterskin, or as I like to call them, the arc nemesis of the Dallas Cowboys. But because we are speaking about the national's capital, I must voice my opinions on the upcoming elections.
Everyone say Barrett O'Bama seem like a cool cat, but he Irish, our long and sworn enemies who start the War of 1812, a battle we are still fighting today. I would hate to see Irishland be the country we lossed a war against. And then you have Hillary Clinton, who cannot be counted on to get the jobs done. If she cannot please her man, how could she possibly please the good people of the United States of Americans? My vote for the next president is John McCann. I never hear him speak, but I sawed he have a hot daughter.
The taterskin, they are from Washington so they should take a receiver who is related to a president. William Franklin have seen rumors that he is the son of Benjamin Franklins, the great president on the $100 bill.
22. Dallas Cowboys: Felix Gordon, RB, Arkansas State College
I did not realize there are so many pick in the first round so I will use what I wrote for the April Fool Mock Draft for this analyst:
I have great respectations for Felix James. Jerry Jones always talk all the times about how he could not decide between both running back in Arkansas State College. So, I look at the draft board and saw that this guy Felix J... J... Gordon was available. I have to grab him for Jerry Jones sakes.
Quote23. Pittsburgh Steelers: Chris Williams, OT, Vanderbilt
What Pittsburgh need to do is very obviously. The team must obsign a big ol' linemen who can keep the guys on the other side of the ball from knocking Big Bob Roethlisberger's head off. Big Bob head have been through a lot lately. He have been in a bicycle accident a couple of months ago. Then his stomach blow up. Then he have a concussion or two. A part of a man's body can only be explosioned so many times.
24. Tennessee Titans: Devin Thomas, WR, Michigan State
Vince Young - he is not old. He is not middle ages either. He is uh... the other one. But he have no receivers - no whatsoever! These are an injustice. Jeff Fishman need to draft a quick receiver who can run down the football field, catch the doggone football and fast - very fast. Vince Young's receivers from last month - they did what I like to call "Grand Theft Drop." They drop too many passes and those are the reasons the Tennessee fall out of the postseasons in 2006.
25. Seattle Seahawks: Roy Rice, RB, Rutgers
The reasons Seattle lossed in the doggone playoff last year was because they could not stop Green Bay's running game, and uhh... other reasons. As the wise man one says, if you cannot beat them, whoop that @$$! The next time Seattle cross Green Bay in the postseasons, they will be able to unleash the flurry that is Roy Rice. He a mean runner who can run the ball strong and hard. If Roy Rice play the entire season, he can run for 3,000 yards every single week. With Roy Rice in the backfield, the Seahawk can right the score and get rid of Shaun Alexanders, who fall down before he get hits.
26. Jacksonville Jaguars: Limas Sweed, WR, Texas
I am tire! Why are there so many doggone pick in the first round!? There should only be 10 pick in the first round!
We must give David Gordon a lot of credit - he play quarterback great after coming back from his Chrome Disease injury. Not only is he now the best quarterback in the conference, he is also the best quarterback in the state of Jacksonville. Nonfortunately, he do not have a dynamite receiver to work with. Coach Jack Delaware need to find that big target for these brave quarterback.
27. San Diego Chargers: Rashard Anderson, RB, Illinois
I have one more analysis from the April Fool Mock Draft. Like Mr. T always say, "I pity the April Fool."
San Diego have lossed Michael Turner to the Atlanta Falcons in the free agency. To win in the National Football Conference, you need two or three strong running back who can run the ball and also carry the doggone football. Rashad Anderson have really impressed me at the University of Illinois, which is in the city of Chicago. He have the ability to rush for 2,000 yards in a season when LaDainian Tomlinson decide to hang up the socks, so to speak.
28. Dallas Cowboys: Mike Hart, RB, Michigan
When you draft one running back, you are taking a small risk. When you draft two running back, you are even taking a bigger risk. The Cowboys had not had a great running back for a very long times. His name was spelled: E-M-I-T-T S-M-I-J-T. Do you give up who that is? It is me, the last good running back who run for Portland. Jerry James will draft three running back in the first round, I will bet my entire house on these.
29. San Francisco 49ers: John David Boogy, QB, USC
I talk to my good friend Tory Aikman about these pick. I must apologize; I have... had... have had not been following the 49ers since Steve Youngs retired two weeks ago, or two years ago, to be more precise. Tory Aikman, who also happen to be my favorite analysis on NBC, say the 49ers need a new quarterback. Alex Smith have tiny hands which cause him to eat the ball up.
30. Green Bay Packers: Erik Ainge, QB, Tennessee
You may not have heard the news, but Brett Favre announce his retirement yesterday. I almost fall off my coach when I hear the news. Green Bay need a new quarterback to lead them into the 21st millennium.
Erik Ainge is the grandson of formal basketball player Erik Ainge, who play for the Chicago Bulls and the Portland T... T... Lions. Erik Ainge is athleticism and will win a few games in Detroit.
31. New England Patriots: Rashard Mendenhall, RB, Illinois
My sources telling me that NFL commissioner David Stern are trying to take these pick away from New England Patriots. I could not agree with those more. Roger Stern should also come up to Bill Billick's door and slap him upside down the heads. No one cheat in the Super Bowl and get away with it!
New England need to grab Rashard Mendenhall again in case they could not get him the first time around.
32. New York Giants: Colt Brennan, QB, Hawaii
Like my good friend Michael Irving always say, "defense do not wins championships, points wins championships." That is why the Giants need to take a quarterback just in case Alan Manning cannot win the big one.
I call Michael Irving the other day and he offer me his special white powders. I said "nah." I don't do those stuff so I can keep my mind as clear as a stapler for my work on ESPM.
That's awesome. Thanks Ed.

Ask Goodell. I think it's more because the actual draft still isn't officially taking place. The team with the first pick gets to NEGOTIATE but cannot SIGN anybody.

The St. Louis Rams are now free to negotiate with any incoming rookie. Except left tackle Jake Long. Because, according to Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com, Long has agreed to terms with the Miami Dolphins to become the No. 1 overall pick in the draft.
The Rams agreed to terms with Rick Astley:

The Texans did that shtein 2 years ago and still took all 15 minutes.
Especially now that it's 10 minutes, more teams are going to use all of it.
Thats fine though because most teams used at least that when it was 15. The worst thing is when everybody knows what the pick is going to be and they still take damn near all the time.
