Is there some pre-existing way on a basic CPU (Windows) that gives me that option or do I have to download something from the web?

I've never tried it myself, but here is a site that claims to do it for you (https://www.pdfonline.com/convert_pdf.asp).

Just install it and it shows up as a printer driver. Just choose print from any application and it creates a pdf.

A good software to have is PDF995 - it's free.

when installed, klick to print, choose PDF995, and it prints it into PDF.
