Title: Goodnight Eagles 2007
Post by: Pissed Off on October 21, 2007, 07:21:31 PM
Well this was certainly the game that ended this futile Eagle's 2007 team.  We had a glimmer of hope after the Jets, but this nailed the coffin shot!

Bring in the rookies!

I was gonna start a thread like this as "Season Over," but then I didn't care enough.

Kolb is not the answer. And in spite of my problems with McNabb, he is not the problem. I have never seen such consistently awful coaching (and obviously awful coaching, my ladyfriend who knows nothing about football asked why they were passing the ball with 3 minutes left in the game) like this. farging disgraceful.

where do they get the 3 wins from? they way the offense is playing especially in the redzone i do not see them beating anyone.

Well, they do play the Dolphins.

What pick would 3-13 get this year?

Probably top 5.  I think the Rams and Dolphins have 1 and 2 locked up.

This team is just bad.  I don't think its for lack of talent, but more like lack of execution and heart.

I know, but at this point I'm ready to give up. This looks worse than last year. With the way the rest of the division is playing we will be lucky not to go winless in the division.

Don't worry.  Three or four more scrambles, and McNabb will probably be done.

While I don't think this is the most talented team, they definitely should be better than this. A coaching change and GM change is needed first and foremost. Then fill in the obvious holes like WR, DE, and Safety

The way things are going now, #10.  The NFL sucks.  And the Patriots will get #9 and take Kenny Phillips just to piss us off even more.

24 Rushes
34 Passes

4.9 Yds/rush
5.7 Yds/pass attempt

In a tight game that was going to go down to the wire.

All you need to know right there.

this team blows...only 1 game where they scored more than 1 td.

but that will happen when you only have 1 above average skill player on the entire roster.

I said I would be surprised.  But they will likely win a couple of games that they shouldn't.  I don't know though the kind of loss they had today could be very deflating.

Before tonight's game:

01 = St. Louis 0-7 (53-50)
02 = Miami 0-7 (55-48)
03 = Atlanta 1-6 (52-49)
04 = N.Y. Jets 1-6 (56-47)
05 = New England (from SF) 2-4 (45-60)
06 = New Orleans 2-4 (48-55)
07 = Cincinnati 2-4 (49-54)
08 = Buffalo 2-4 (52-50)
09 = Oakland 2-4 (51-46)
10 = Minnesota 2-4 (55-46)
11 = EAGLES 2-4 (60-45)
12 = Denver 2-3 (54-43)

Facing New England, Green Bay and Dallas twice is killing the strength of schedule...

season was over when we failed to have a sure handed punt returner in week 1 and when we only got 4 fgs against the skins, 12 sacks allowed against the giants and of course 97 yards in two minutes.

YOu didn't think that would happen? I knew it would. Who the farg didn't know that?

I said it all week. They wouldn't run the ball against a team with sucktastic run defense. They did it well in the first half, but then starting pass pass pass whenever they got into the red zone. And people wonder why their red zone offense sucks donkey balls?

The Eagles are a poor football team. The most we can hope for is some fun football games. Maybe some wacky turnovers, crazy penalties, amazing catches. Nothing left to be emotionally invested in though, they're done.

As angry as I am now, I realize I'm going to be ten times more angry when we get into the offseason and the Eagles are way too conservative about revamping the team. Returning 45 players from a zesty roster is not acceptable. And you know the coaches aren't going anywhere.

Biter.

That game sucked.  Had great seats for something totally not worth watching.  The coaching sucks and most of the players suck.  Considine and Gocong were atrocious and I think Kearse was playing LB for the entire 4th qtr (if not longer....didn't notice).

E-farging-nough with the coaching and player personnel staff.  Stop drafting project players with 1st day picks.  Stop cutting punt returners 1 week before the season.  Stop with the rediculous playcalling.  Stop being cheap in free agency and stop signing other team's number 3 reciever to be #1 here.

Die die die die die die die die die die die die!

Didn't the Patriots get that pick by trading their first rounder???

And we traded our first rounder for Kevin Kolb....

Brilliant!!

Rebuilding we bet a lot easier if we had two top ten picks... but it doesn't matter because the Eagles will win a bunch of meaningless games at the end of the season like the Sixers did.  The Eagles will probably be in line for a top 5 pick in week 15, then win a couple meaningless ones at the end and end up with pick 12.
Title: Re: Goodnight Eagles 2007

A top 5 pick probably isn't realistic. While the Eagles are bad right now, you are forgetting how horrendous the Rams, Dolphins, Niners, Jets, Bills, Falcons, and even Saints are.

No... you're forgetting how atrocious the Eagles are... or you're just not paying attention to these games.  They've played 6 games now and they have 3 TD's against defenses not named Detroit.

The Eagles also have the same record as two of those teams you so easily dismissed and only a game better than most of the others right now.
Title: Re: Goodnight Eagles 2007
Post by: QB Eagles on October 22, 2007, 07:47:47 AM
Cincinatti is worse than some of those teams. People don't realize how brutal the Bengals are unless you've been watching their games. Their defense is a total joke.

The Eagles will find a way to win just enough games to avoid getting a great pick. They'd probably blow the pick anyway so who cares.

So you think the Eagles couldn't beat those teams? The Eagles are bad right now, but they beat the 4-2 Lions easily. There aren't a lot of teams they can beat right now, but the majority of those teams the Eagles could beat as bad as they are IMO.

I guess time will tell how bad the Eagles truly are.

Who cares? The teams they definitely can't beat are the Cowboys, Giants, and taterskins. The record will determine the pick. We have Miami and New Orleans on the schedule, but wins against them more than likely won't mean anything except draft position.

I can see us getting swept in the division.
