Title: Giants Prediction Thread
Post by: Father Demon on September 26, 2007, 01:50:41 PM
Following IGY's lead from last week, post your current record for the year and your prediction for the score this week against the Gints.  But I'm modifying it a little -- use your score to determine how you do against the spread.

Eagles are -3 against the Giants.

Father Demon: 1-2 (straight up); 1-2 (ATS)

Eagles: 21
Giants: 20

You can at least say that you are 1-2 on the season, as I am also.

You picked the Eagles to beat Green Bay, lose to Washington, and lose to Detroit.  1-2.

Ha!  (Good job.)

I'm picking them to beat the Giants.  Score will be determined closer to kickoff.

Eagles *should* win either way.  It's just a matter of by how much.

Nothing's a given with the erratic play of McNabb.  He has proven he can win and lose games in improbable fashion.  Which McNabb shows up Sunday night?  I've no effing idea.

Oh please.

It all depends on the farging playcalling.

If Reidingwheg runs the ball with consistency, they'll win the game. Period.

This is mildly amusing, but trying to put ALL the blame on the playcalling and none of it on McNabb is just lame.  He played like absolute crap in the Washington game.

Basically, despite the playcalling, this team would be 3-0 if..

Don't delude yourself otherwise.

  • someone could have caught a punt against Green Bay
  • McNabb could have hit the broad side of a barn against Washington

Don't delude yourself otherwise.

Thing is, if the game plan for Washington had an even run/pass ratio, the way Bwest was playing that game they might have won in spite of McNabb. Bwest was on a pace to run for 190+ yds. at halftime.

McNabb will benefit from this type of gameplan, is more effective, and it's perfectly obvious to everyone watching this team except Andy Reid. Without it, we have no chance so I'd say my first question is what the farg kind of gameplan we'll we see??

No idea why but when I think of this game this is the score that comes to mind. And it has nothing to do with last weeks score.

McNabb played poorly in the first two games, but got NO help from the coaches with a running game.  Additionally, GB would have scored maybe 3 points if not for the coaching staff leaving the team with no punt returner.

Those losses are entirely on Koti-I mean, Reid.

Green Bay won the first game without scoring a offensive TD. Thats a game we should have won if Reid had a return man who could simply feild a punt. When I saw the way this team was totally unprepared to return a punt, it made me think that I was wrong assuming Reid could shut out all the hoopla surrounding his drug addict kids. What coach who is supposed to be as good as Reid  starts the season with a return game that preforms like it did!?!? Totally cost us that game.

McNabb sucked major dog nut in the Washington game, but a 18/46 rush/pass ratio didn't help. It was plain too see McNabb didn't have it, and yet still, Reid called almost nothing but pass plays. It's just unbelievable a coach can call a game like that and still have a job. The Hardheaded bitch! Cbuck got the ball only one time in that game. Unacceptable. I swear, to get beat at home like that against the taterskins was heartbreaking and embarrassing.

Last game we ran the ball and good things happened. They split the carries between Bwest and Cbuck/Hunt/Tapeh. This week we might see more of Cbuck and Hunt. I like Hunt and wouldn't mind seeing him get the ball more.

going into a giants eagles game i always think we should beat them by a lot but it always ends up being a close game.

you would think by now defensive guru would have figured out burress by now but he always gives us problems and he is playing pretty damn well right now. with the possibility of no lito and no dawkins again i do not like our chanches. our offense will not spark it up like that again even though the giants D is not any better than the detroit lions defense.

with that said of course i think we win but it will be a lot closer than it should be.

eagles: 21
giants 17

pressure on eli is the key to this game...hopefully the d line is in a groove now...not sure they are as good as they showed last week but i think they are good enough to force a fumble or an interception or both

tough to make a prediction here without knowing how hurt westbrook is...i still have serious questions as to whether he will play or not...plax being a ? also throws this week into an almost impossible call

eagles could go into the 30's with a healthy westbrook or in the teens if he doesnt play...so ill go in the middle somewhere and say 27-24 birds

week 1 - eagles - loss
week 2 - skins - win
week 3 - eagles - win
week 4 - eagles - ??

I'm going to go ahead and assume that both Westbrook and Burress will play.  With that I'll say:

Eagles 27
Giants 16

Week 1 - Eagles - Loss
Week 2 - Eagles - Loss
Week 3 - Eagles - Win
Week 4 - Eagles - ??

I've picked the Eagles every week so far, so I'm 1-2

With the way McNabb played last week, I can't pick against them.

Close game - Eagles 23, Giants 20

It looks like picking against SunMo is a slam dunk.

I'll reverse what I previously said about the Eagles winning.  McNabb comes one more like games 1-2 than game 3.  Plaxico plays.  Lito and Westbrook don't play.

Giants 31
Eagles 23

I basically changed my prediction because early in the week, I thought Westbrook would play... once I found out he probably wasn't going to, I smelled disaster.

What's worse is Westbrook wasn't missed nearly as much as Tralliam.

2-2.
